- Joseph (1/5): Horrible property, horrible Management Company ... drive on past and stay elsewhere. - A cousin of the owner took pity on us and made up the room so we could get some rest. EVERYTHING. Room NOT made up when we arrived, which made me notice all the OTHER things that were wrong. NO ONE at the property to ask for help (office closed and locked) and no one answered the phone, initially. Fortunate that Lindsey (a "cousin" to the owner) saw me at the office door and offered to help. When I did finally reach someone at the Management office, they were completely uncompassionate or responsive to the error made at the property. Their solution was the check me out (of a NON-REFUNDABLE room) at ELEVEN-THIRTY at night!!! Where was I supposed to go?!?!? When asked what they would have done if Lindsey hadn't been there to make up our room (TOTALLY not her job but a godsend anyway) he said he would have dispatched someone out to the property, again, at ELEVEN-THRITY AT NIGHT. God only knows how long it would've taken THAT person to arrive, let alone get our room ready. ISSUES: steps leading up to our room are not set to the property rise/run so I tripped going up. Visible stains on the sheets, toilet paper holder broken off the wall, mold in the cracks around the molding in the shower, multiple broken tiles in the toilet area, light over sink would only blink on and off like it was bringing a plane in on a runway (had to leave the bathroom door open to wash my hands at the sink, which is not great if someone wants to use the toilet at the same time). Microwave buttons were so scratched it was hard to operate, Refrigerator would not refreeze our ice packs for our cooler. Coffee, but no coffee maker!!! One of the two beds had NO MATTRESS BUT A SECOND BOX SPRING!!!! Cable internet was stuck behind the credenza so we couldn't get the remote to work until we pulled it up and put it on top. Pool has plumbing ON TOP of the deck, causing trip hazards and NO LIGHTS for nighttime swimming. Deck chairs are longer than the deck, so they have to be placed at an angle, causing trip hazards if you walk either behind or in front of them.
- Sally (1/5): Didn’t stay. - We were double booked and received codes to 2 different rooms that already had other guest’s belongings in them. This made me feel very unsafe. They were unable to put us in a different room and we had to make other last minute accommodations. I have not received a refund as of yet or a reply to the follow up email I have sent the property.

It was a great place for us to stay for just one night. The train being so close to the hotel woke us up a few times overnight. I got their at about 8:30pm and there was nobody in the office all lights turned off door locked i knock and no answer rang the doorbell no answer. I waited for about 20 minutes trying to call no answer people going in and out of there rooms but no one for the office to check-in so I left and went to a different place for the night and now I am wondering why I paid for a place to stay when I didn't even get to stay due to poor management.

- Megan (2/5): Disgustingly hot. - Hotel does not take the health of their guests seriously. Our air conditioner did not work. We stayed during a weekend that the exterior temperature was in the 90's and the heat index was 100+. We got to our room late and thought the ac needed to get going. That was not the case. The next morning I contacted the property how I was instructed in the welcome text. We were out of the room all day. It was not fixed. It was so horrible my mom, who is in her 60's, kept having to be taken out to the car to sit in the air because she was getting sick. I was told to submit for a full refund on booking. After months of going back and forth, through phone calls, emails, booking contacting them, etc. they gave me less than 1/3 of the money back. I was told it would be a full refund. This wasn't just slightly uncomfortable. This was hazardous, especially to at risk groups. I understand things happen, but the whole way this was handled was very disappointing and dismissive.

Great location The front door didn't close easily, you could still open it partially. The shower was small and the fabric covering it could be switched to a sliding door

The system of not checking in and receiving the information I needed via text message was efficient and accurate, but I really value meeting a live person when I check in. The room was comfortable, well-lit and attractive. But the bed -- which is probably the most important part of an overnight stay -- was miserable. It was excessively soft, with almost no back support. It felt like a half-filled waterbed and made sleeping difficult and uncomfortable.

- Preslie (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - I wish I actually got to stay here, but unfortunately I was NOT given the chance to. To preface this, I am not a reviewer, nor am I usually the one to complain. However, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a hotel/motel. I booked through hotels.com, I have booked there before and had no issues. I received a confirmation email about my booking from hotels.com on the day I booked (in June). When I showed up to the property, we noticed there was no staff in the office. We read a piece of paper left on the door that said to check our email for information on “self-serve” check in. I checked my email, I SCOURED my email and found NOTHING from the property or hotels.com since the original confirmation email. I even double checked the check in times and everywhere I looked it said check in starts at 3pm. There was no window given for cut off either. We arrived at the location at roughly 10:00 pm. I had to end up booking somewhere else last minute so we didn’t have to sleep in the car. I messaged the property that night and my partner and I also both tried calling that night to no avail. We had cedar point the next day, so we weren’t planning on immediately contacting the property. When we woke up this morning, I noticed an email from the property at 8:53 am. It had the room number and entry code. I decided to call the property and they directed me to hotels.com. Hotels.com then needed up contacting the property directly and they basically told me I would only ge

It's a budget motel so I don't have unrealistic expectations, and while the rooms are basic and outdated, the staff was always welcoming and inviting. I don't know if the management has changed, but the motel moved to self serve check in. My check in email was supposed to arrive by 12pm, it was delivered at 8:15pm. The email was missing our room code and I had to call a line several times before someone could let us in. The entire room smelled like mildew and all the linens were damp. The AC unit was so loud that we could barely sleep. They replaced the black out curtains with thin paper blinds, which did nothing to block out the bright lights from outside our room. It was like trying to sleep with a spot light on our window. I tried to go to the office in the morning, but nobody was there, even in normal business hours. I made multiple calls to the listed number and nobody picked up. It's a shame because we enjoyed going to Quality Motel for you our yearly trips to Cedar Point and I don't think we will ever go back.

Within 2 minutes of opening the door and inspecting everything and taking many pictures, I immediately closed the door and tried to find someone around but no one was available. The bed was unmade and stains everywhere looking like blood, the smell of the place was horrendous. We left in search of a hospitable hotel. After contacting this place they said there's no record of us informing them and leaving early. No refund issued.

- Brett (4/5): - I stayed at Quality Lodge several times under the previous ownership. The rooms are old and dated, but the previous owners had those rooms spotless and it was a quaint place to stay. I returned and had such a disappointing experience. The room was dirty, walking barefoot on the carpet had my feet black in seconds. The shower had black dirt in it, presumably from dirty feet from the carpet from the previous tenant. But the worst part was that my room had a very strong smell of stale cigarettes. Not the fresh smoke in a bar smell (which is terrible as well) but the combination of must and past cigarettes that gets on your hair and clothes if you spend more than 90 seconds in the room. Unfortunately there is no staff on site, which was a problem because I was not sent the arrival email and had to spend a significant amount of time trying to call to get my credentials. Many great memories at this hotel, but never again.

Ok, so the room had an air conditioner from 1975 and it could not cool the room. I sat on the bed and it flipped up, like a see saw. The room was like a remodeled garden shed. They did have real hotel rooms but they were in the remodel process. It will be fine in a year or so but not ready for guests yet. This time hotels.com got me.

- Matthew (10/5): - We were amusement park hopping, so Quality Lodge was our first and last stop before heading home. When we walked into the room on stay 1, the room had a distinct smell to it. Not terrible - but not exactly pleasant either. I couldn't place it until I took off my shoes and realized the carpets were wet.....they had just been shampooed. Not sure if this was routine maintenance or if something had happened with the previous guest. The room for stop 2 smelled more normal.

- Matt (2/5): Try sleeping in a sauna - The air conditioning doesn’t work. I was one of several guests that had our doors open with the fans they left in the rooms attempting to cool the room down to the outside temperature of 80. There were even a couple who gave up and slept in their cars. There is nobody present that works for the motel. When I called the number on the office door, they placed me on hold for 25 minutes at which time the phone system ended the call. Not that it mattered at that point but the tv didn’t work either. Absolutely will never consider them again, nobody else should either.

- Sara (10/5): - This is the perfect cheap hotel if you’re looking for a very basic overnight stay, or a basic stay in general in a CLEAN room. Check-in was perfect, got the room number and door code ahead of time so when we arrived we just walked into the room and that was it. Most cheap motels are dirty or scary and still charge nearly $100 because they have a coffee maker in the room. This place is much less expensive and very well-kept, doesn’t have a coffee maker or desk but had two night stands and a mini fridge, what else could you need from this price point? Thank you for offering this kind of motel for travelers looking for a bargain but not wanting to compromise on cleanliness and safety in exchange!

- F4704RMlaurap (6/5): Poor follow through. - Super affordable and clean. BUT, Wi-Fi wouldn’t work, and when in the room, neither 5G nor LTE would work. TV was stuck on ESPN, so there were really no entertainment options for a mother and daughter who were uninterested in baseball. I called the remote phone line (no one on site), and while the lady I spoke to was very nice, there was no resolution to the Wi-Fi issue. I was given 3 different time frames that the owner was supposed to come and fix the Wi-Fi issue, and almost two hours later, it’s still not working (was originally told 20 minutes and it would be up and running). This is obviously a first world problem, but for about $20-$30 more a night, we would be been able to stay at an actual hotel with functioning Wi-Fi and not staying in a room with nothing to do. In the future, we will stick with national chains.
