Mark (9/5): Comfortable - In nice quiet side street away from the traffic, crowds and noise of the Thamel main streets yet just a minutes walk away. Room was big, comfortable and in good decorative order. Staff friendly. Everything was fine, nothing to dislike.

It is a great place: very kind staff, welcoming atmosphere, delicious cappuccino, good breakfast, spacious family room and good hot showers (with some patience;-). Also the situation in Thamel is perfect, with many good restaurants and stores around but in a quiet road. Overall great value for money, we fully recommend the hotel. The floors could use some more wet cleaning.

Stefanie (10/5): Zu Gast in Kathmandu - Alle Mitarbeitenden waren sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sie haben uns geholfen, für uns passende Touren zu planen. Außerdem ist die Lage super. Restaurants und Geschäfte sind in direkter Nähe. Außerdem waren alle sehr kinderfreundlich hier im Hotel. Die Dachterrasse hat uns ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen. Von hier aus hat man einen schönen Blick über einen Stadt. Die Lautstärke auf der Straße, aber wir nutzen Ohrstöpsel, weshalb dies kein Problem für uns war. Kathmandu ist eben eine große und volle Stadt.

From the moment I arrived, everything was top-notch — the rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed, and the overall ambiance was warm and welcoming. A special shout-out to Smita, the barista at the café! She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. Her friendly smile and genuine care made my mornings extra special. It’s rare to meet someone who truly loves what they do, and Smita’s positive energy added such a personal touch to my stay. The staff in general were courteous and professional, and every little detail was thoughtfully taken care of. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family. The delicious Himalayan Java Coffee is presented by the Best Barista in Kathmandu, the lovely Miss Smita, always, Singing and Dancing. Bhishan and others helping things get done. The person always there for me as a friend, Pragwal who arranges the BEST TREKS & TOURS, to wherever you want to go. He is truly, a man for all seasons. There is NO Unhappy Face. All things at Sacred Boutique Hotel, exceeded my expectations.

They organised everything and had me in a taxi to the airport within the hour with a flight ticket in my hand. Stains and holes on all the bedding, very dark rooms, felt dirty, bathroom was almost unusable. We actually booked and paid for two nights, but left after the first night.

I was very friendly welcomed by the driver and receptionist. The room was spacious, and aligned with my expectations. The breakfast was nice, especially with the barista coffee included. I asked for a last-minute yoga class and was provided with a contact I could reach out to. Roof terrace was nice! After cleaning the stairs, it was very wet and slippery. A warning sign would be of help!

Lisa (1/5): A Nightmare Experience: Avoid this hotel at All Costs - Nothing My recent stay at this hotel was a nightmare, and I must speak out about It. I stayed many hotel in Kathmandu, but this is the worst one. Despite my clear arrival time of after 11:30 PM, the hotel was closed upon my arrival. After knocking for 25 minutes, a rude receptionist finally let me in. The road to the hotel was dark and narrow, with barking dogs making it feel unsafe, especially for a single woman like me. The room was dimly lit with no hot water, falling short of basic comfort standards. It's not worthy of its claimed three-star status and its high price. Do not pay more than 10 $. During breakfast, I know that the hotel staff offers free airport services, exchanging perfect reviews. This way, they collected these good rating reviews. I thought most of the reviews were fake. After my stay, I paid in cash and checked out, but they mysteriously canceled my booking. This shows a disregard for basic rights and honesty. In short, this hotel fails basic rights standards. Avoid it and choose accommodation that respects your safety, comfort, and integrity.

Chia (9/5): Great Stay with Amazing Hosts - Great hospitality by the hotel management and team. Run as a family business, the owner and his sons were most welcoming. Special shouout to Prajwal n his brother for helping me with the transfers from the airport and also on my return trip! The food tasted good too n simple breakfast of local Nepalese food was good enough for me to get the day started ! The air-conditioning wasn't warm enough in the cold of winter. Then again, I come from the tropics... So this was probably warm enough for those who are used to winters.
