Guest Reviews
- Danielle (2/5): - Disgusting place. Would never book again
- Ashleigh (2/5): - We got to our room and it was nothing like the pictures. There was dirty hand prints on the benches there was hair on the sink rubbish on the floor and mud on the floor. We where then shown 2 other rooms that where no better will not stay again
- Amanda (10/5): - We ended up being upgraded to the the crest next door and it was excellent
- Dave (10/5): - Even body that I had dealings with was a great experience that I walked away with
Thanks š
- Leesa (8/5): - Clean property in a great location
- Katilin (8/5): - Nice close to public transport
- Michael (8/5): - Great
- Masako (8/5): - I could relax and enjoy visiting St Kilda.
- Matthew (10/5): - Had an upgrade to the Crest on Barkley and it was great.
- Paul (10/5): - Awesome
- Belinda (10/5): - Staff were friendly and service great
- Antonio (8/5): - Tv out of order
- Natalie (4/5): - As I checked in others were at reception complaining that their room was not made up. Upon checking into room mine was not made up either. Could hear the TV in the next room. Had to pay $40 parking
Would not recommend
- George (2/5): - This property is actually crisis accomodation and Crest are not permitted to use it as a hotel room.
The room we had was full of bedbugs and my husband is badly bitten
It has been reported to council
NEVER EVER agree to stay here, there is nothing good about this property and sad to think people in crisis are made to stay here
- Analee (4/5): - Good location and decent car parking, but steer clear of the ābudgetā rooms because they are not just basic, but quite concerning by way of what appeared to be a blood-stained mattress, wine and other stains on the floors, burn marks on the doorway, garbage bags were provided in place of actual rubbish bin (but only upon request). Very disappointed and alarmed.
- Voula (2/5): - I am pretty sure it was a boarding house! Dirty and very noisy.
- cameron (8/5): - Rooms were clean, spacious for the two of us and very, very quiet. Staff are pleasant and helpful. We opted for off street parking and the car park is tight for space. Overall a good experience.
- David (6/5): - This accommodation was handy to the venue wkere we were attending an event. The parking, although extra, was convenient.
The room had no TV, the toilet roll holder was barely hanging on the wall. The outside area was littered with cigarette butts.
- Joan (10/5): - It was Perfect for what I Needed! Location & Staff Were Great! Thankyou!
- Wendy (2/5): - Smelt like smoke even thou it was advertised as non smoking.
I had holes in my sheet and stains on doona cover.
Filth on floors in bathroom.
Would not recomend anyone this place.
Very disappointed considering the price they charged.
- Holly (2/5): - Didnāt even stay the night! Absolutely disgusting blood and other things on the bed the whole room smelt of cigarettes not happy at all I want my refund
- Joanna (8/5): - Staff were fabulous and our room was comfortable, clean and spacious.
- Kathleen (6/5): - Value for money
- Ben (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff!
- Kyra (10/5): Last minute stay - Great service, nice accom
- Troy (10/5): - It was convenient to where I needed to go Staff were friendly and helpful
- Raul (8/5): - Good value for money
- Natalija (2/5): - Was bookt diferts plac e. I received doferts
- Bridget (6/5): - The property was decent. We had a fridge no microwave. And we didn't get clean up service. Not even one day. It was right by the bus stop which was great.
- Diane (6/5): - Room was ok for price
- Jessica (2/5): - The rooms are smelly, discusting. The bed and furniture are very dirty. I have to check as I couldn't stand the smell in the rooms. Makes me sick and very uncomfortable. Definitely not recommended.
- Martin (8/5): - The furniture is a bit tired
- LANCE (8/5): - Happy to review the Como accommodation , but the room shown in the photo wasnāt the room I had. Although the room I stayed in was perfect.
- Rohit (10/5): - Excellent
- Nick and Tammy (8/5): - Staff very friendly, food fantastic, nice and clean.
The only thing was could do with a revamp the place is a little rundown.
- Judy (8/5): - We were placed in the main Crest building. rather than the Como Court building. which was clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful.
- Doug (4/5): - The room was disappointing looked nothing like the one in the photo and wasnāt clean. Would not go back
- Sarah (4/5): - The room we received was not like the picture on website, stunk of stale cigarette smoke, shower broken, toilet became blocked, phone cord had been cut off, very outdated amenities, the one thing it was clean
- Jann (4/5): - For $237 very disappointing, still have to pay extra $20 to park your car there, king size bed was just 2 mattresses pushed together fall down gap in between, complete rip off, never again
- Jody (8/5): - Itās simple, budget accommodations but clean and comfortable. Staff were lovely. Roofing and windows were pretty
- Gemma (4/5): - This property has a great location, easy walking to Acland St, St Kilda beach and Chapel St, as well as public transport.
The property itself was unfortunately under furnished (kettle with no tea cups, one pillow available, and only a woollen blanket between two sheets as a comforter) and smelled like the previous occupants had been smoking. The smell was quite upsetting and unfortunately the blinds and windows would not open to help the situation.
- Matthew (8/5): - Really handy smoking area in what was an 'upgrade' to the Hotel location as opposed to Como.
Staff were professional, yet at the safe time relaxed and happy
- Sylvia (8/5): - Cost of packing was good. I how it close to the beach. Friendly staff, clean and tidy and the cafe is the best. A place I'll stay again
- Christa (4/5): - The staff were amazing, very friendly and accommodating. I would say you get what you pay for but we didnāt even get that - we had to call for housekeeping constantly, they didnāt come by our room to clean once.
- Sharon (8/5): - Perfect location and a very comfy bed.
- Michael (8/5): - A great value for what I paid, though the carpets need a real cleaning. It's a nicely done-up old apartment with creaky floors in places, and can hear people leaving for work in morning.
For me staying on a business trip is t was perfectly fine though early wake up wastn what ai wnted either
- Hayley (6/5): - Great location, close to Albert Park and walking distance from St Kilda shops and esplanade. Room was very outdated and felt unclean. The carpet was stained in multiple places
- Helen (10/5): - Value for money, very reasonably priced. Very spacious room. Not impressed there was any mention of extra cost for parking
- Risa (2/5): - I paid extra $150 as deposit? They said it'll refund in 5 business days later but I haven't been able to see the refund yet... It's been over two weeks tho...
- Paul (4/5): - location great for st kilda area.
Had to leave room for shower and toilet. matress lumpy and room not worth $140.00. per night
- Stacey (2/5): - Terrible. Nothing like the pictures. Old run down and dirty room. Spelled like smoke. RV didnāt even work. Told I had to email to complain and I still havenāt heard anything back. Not at all worth the cost. Find somewhere else!
- Jeff (10/5): - Absolutely everything about the Facilities were spot on and especially the price. I have stayed there twice and check in is very slow. The first time I stayed I paid the deposit by card and checkout was very quick. The 2nd time I paid cash for deposit and wasn't informed that they had to view my room before I could leave to refund the deposit. So after sitting in the foyer for about 25 mins I was late for my appointment. Besides that I would definitely stay again.
- Rachel (2/5): - I booked a room on my drive from Canberra to Melbourne last minute to visit my mother who is in hospital for cancer treatment and was horrified by the room when I arrived.
Disgusting room, not as described during booking, no toilet paper, broken tap in bathroom, pubic hair in the bedding, grimey and dirty floors. Staff are rude and unhelpful. Management leave much to be desired. Would not recommend. If I could give 0 stars I would.

- Nigel (10/5): - Bathrooms a tad dated, bath shower combination not ideal for easy entry exit. Staff were super, quiet rooms, comfortable beds.
- Elle (2/5): - The heater in the room was broken when we checked in. After 4 hours of notifying staff, nothing was done. It was absolutely freezing and they had us change rooms at 11.30pm - which was even more freezing dragging our stuff outside and to another hotel building. They moved us back to the room the next day (well we had to move our stuff again) and their idea of fixing the heating was by placing a sticker on it that said "cooling only". The room was beyond cold and made for a miserable night. Couldn't even provide an extra blanket. Paid a lot of money to freeze.
- Julie (2/5): - Aside from a bed to sleep in there are no positive comments to make
- Jacqueline (4/5): - Very noisy, woken at 3am by staff talking loudly to another guest outside the room. Lots of door banging during the night.
- Marc (6/5): - The bathroom was outside the room and i had to remember to take my room key otherwise i would be locked out of my room. For the price i paid this was not acceptable. I would never have booked if I had known.
- Paul (8/5): - Great location, comfortable room, very affordable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Place was fine for the price and proximity to Albert Park but certainly wasn't clean as others have said. Carpet was dirty and several people's hair everywhere from sink to side table.
Cleanliness aside, it's pretty basic you get what you pay for so can't complain too much really.
No changing sheets or towels service for entire duration of stay which is odd. TV aerial signal doesn't work properly and several of us had access cards not work needing to be reprogrammed every single day of stay which was annoying.
There's 24 hour reception which is good and friendly with some cafes and Woolworths few mins walk away. Tram stop very conveniently placed nearby too. It does the job for a couple of days solo trip on a budget.
- Michael (4/5): - Friendly reception. Moderate clean rom despite no smoking had smoke
Smell ledge outside room smothered in butts. Exhaust fan outside the window went all night a very noisy
- Zoe (8/5): - Overall the property was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was super comfy. Parking was a little tricky to get out of with a larger vehicle so pick your car park carefully.
- Fallah (2/5): - The room that i was staying has broken blind and its next to the bbq area is very noisy when people are there. My room has no view and its feel kikenin the cave. Smart tv disnt work properly. My room was 108. That room should be store for the housekeeping and not for sale.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great accommodation for the price and location.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great service by staff at Crest on Barkly who manage Como Court but the room was tiny, nothing like the pic shown, and the rooms were accessed by a communal corridor which was filthy, dirty carpet with discarded ripped couch cushions, an old shoe (which was later used to prop open the entry over night by other residents) and smelt terrible. It seems that the other rooms are permanently occupied and people were coming and going all night, yelling out for residents, sounded like a drug deal taking place. Was quite scary knowing the external door was open and not quite knowing how safe we were. The room itself was clean and handy location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Como Court staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy. Thanks
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was not the room I sure ,it was a bit old,hey but the service was excellent and will be going back and would recommend people to stay there 10/10 keep up the good work people
- john (4/5): Noisy neighbours ruined my stsy - Stayed there many times. Great location and 'covid' rates as room is upgraded. Didnt get much sleep last time. Mger allowed me to change rooms at 2am. There are balconies out back where guests smoke and talk on mobiles.etc Suggest the front of the building as its quieter
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There was alot of construction going on but other than that it was lovely. Everything was clean and as we liked. Beautiful place and great location
- Zwg (10/5): - Property was fine , terrible staff however, some of the rudest iv ever experienced in the hotel world
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room was generally tidy. Very small and cramped, room barely fit the double bed and a tiny bathroom. Bathroom tap was not secure and wifi didnāt work at all.
Very disappointed for the price paid.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent service, a few issues with accessibility - no ramp to the lobby - and some issues with miscommunication and card access. Overall a lovely place to stay, not far from the city.
- Zapertova (4/5): - Beddings, sheets, toiletries Were all are used by someone else before and weren't replaced for a new customer.
They charged deposit and even 5 Star hotel I been never charge.
Expefia good company I always use for travel, should not use such hotels with unnecessary Deposits. There is nothing to take from.
- Cal (6/5): - Television didnāt work and took 2 and a half days to remedy, changed me to a much smaller room with a working one. Should have changed televisions not rooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were amazing from booking over the phone to day to day needs. Quality accomodation at budget price. Will recommend to everyone who comes to Melbourne.
- Robin (8/5): Nice š - Recently renovated Itās nice but just have to iron out a few kinks as the Aircon was leaking but still working An on that 43 degree day it was a blessing
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Probably one of the only affordable properties in Melbourne that isn't a forlorn, dirty, decrepit hostel. Nice staff and excellent facilities for the money. Wasn't all that pleased that they didn't mention they were having roof maintenance done at the time, but I guess that's the trade-off for a cheap price. Still, management should probably warn guests that clay tiles will be thrown off the roof commencing at 7 a.m.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the art deco style and fittings. Really good size for 2-4 people, and very private with no noise heard from inside, No outdoor sitting areas and the cleaning needs a bit more detail. A fair walk from St Kilda.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I was allocated a ground floor room at the back of the building, which was nice and quiet, with a new private bathroom. The room was small but the bed was comfortable. There was a nice TV a small fridge and the hot water was excellent. Fortunately there was a window that I could open for fresh air. The air conditioner had heat and cool cycles. The ironing board was busted. The room rates were OK for a big city and the number 3 tram to the city was a short walk.
- Paul (2/5): Avoid at all cost - Room is clean and area is nice. Service in the hotel is terrible and staff are rude to match. This app should review whether to list this property.
- Vivien (8/5): Great place to stay - Reception staff were great, close to transport and eateries
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a clean property lovely old building but updated rooms. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location near the st kilda tram stop. My room was clean quiet and comfortable with quality linen
- Deirdre (10/5): - We were upgraded to The Crest, staff and room were lovely. Loved the $15 buffet breakfast. $20 for parking. So close to everything, it was great. Definitely stay again š
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Do not have time to write. Busyýýyyyyyyyyyyuuuuuuuuuuu
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Thanl you i had a nice stay.
The tv works but looses signal and we couldnt use it.
The heating is also not working but thx for the fan heater
it helped.
Kind regards
Bonni
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location and cheap place to stay in Melbourne
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Outside toilets we stopped building in the 1970s
Your keys to car park & units rarely worked
- Scott (8/5): - Decent place, people in the next room were noisy but thatās not hotels fault.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable room , slight inconvenience having to use a bathroom outside my door. But hey I could not get any closer to my venue
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great reception staff. Nice room ina convenient location to St Kilda.
- Kris (8/5): - The front desk staff, Georgie and Lily were fantastic š What a great example of good customer service. They recommend the restaurant where we stopped in for lovely dessert. Well done all
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very spacious and had everything you needed, but needed a lot of tlc and maintenence, and unfortunately if you are on the bottom floor you will hear absolutely every move from people above you. Other than that, great stay
- Nick (6/5): - Best staff
But major downfall when the sink was one it was brown water not something you want to brush your teeth in
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was clean and the beds were comfortable.
There was a wait to check in as there was only 1 staff member and 3 people waiting to check in. The key card had to be re-programmed as we couldn't get back into the room after being out
- Josh (8/5): - Very decent spot. Location is excellent with good tram connections.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely loved the staff, very attentive and helpful.
The apartment was lovely, with its period features, but well updated to suit modern times. Only draw back was the need for ceiling fans in the bedrooms as the A/C is only in the main room and the onsite parking is only suitable for smaller vehicles.
Otherwise we will be back as itās perfectly placed between St Kilda beach and the city.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I normally stay at the Crest on Barkly which is next door, but when it is not available, we stay at Como Court.
It is an old house converted to accomodation to suit the price conscious visitor.
It is managed by the Crest; you check into the same reception staff and it is cleaned by the same people. You can use the facilities over available at the Crest.
The rooms tend to be smaller, and the facilities not as modern but having stayed there twice in the last year, I have no complaints.
It is clean, the shower is hot, the fridge cold and the price amazing. 5 days during the Australian Open for less than $400
Don't expect a view from your window is the only other comment to add. Didn't bother me.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - although the Location of the Hotel is good, the customers confuses where the reception is, it's next building that also no sign points that!! and also we tried to use the lift with our luggage but do not know what level is the reception!!
Make One (double/ bigger) bed instead of joining two single ones and two single matters!! to earn more couples (Only husband/wife).
