Guest Reviews
- Jan (10/5): - The room was quite comfortable, very clean, and well appointed and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The food and coffee in the attached cafe were delicious.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michele (8/5): - Our room was tiny. But clean,
- Andrey (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice guesthouse in a Cancun center. There is a cafe for meals. The bus stop to playas is very close to casa. Nice people in casa. Very hospitable hotel. Cafe doesnt work on Mondays but it is not a problem because there are many places to eat something.
- Ekaterina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kiersten (10/5): - We came to Cancun for a last-minute long weekend. We did not want to party or be around a bunch of crazy tourist areas. This little place had great reviews and it definitely lived up to them!! The room was spotlessly, clean, and fresh. The towels and linens smelled so good. We got the standard room which just included a bedroom with a queen bed and a a little dining table and a bathroom. It was perfect for our needs. (Two adults). You enter and check in through the sliding wooden doors at the little restaurant in front. All the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We ate twice for breakfast at the little restaurant/café. The Chilaquiles were amazing!! Also they make extremely good cappuccino and lattes and pastries. We felt very safe there and I would stay there again. Every night we walked down the street to different restaurants, cafés, etc.. a short Uber to Las Palapas for some evening snacks! It was a really great stay!
- Ekaterina (10/5): - Very nice people, the property is well maintained and super clean and safe
- Rafael (9/5): Superb - It is a family business and they all treat you really nice. It is in a residential neighborhood, so it´s away from all the big non-personal resorts. They have a cafe attached to the property that is really really good. I liked where it was located, but maybe not everyone might like that is away from the tourist part of it.
- Brooke (8/5): - We really liked this place. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet given the proximity to everything. It was tricky to find and even our taxi driver had difficulty as there is no signage. We only had about three minutes of hot water which was unfortunate but the air conditioning works well. The cafe downstairs is excellent with incredible coffee.
- Kun (10/5): - It’s a nice stay, very clean.
- Wallis (8/5): - This hotel is a no frills hotel. It was clean and has a nice restaurant attached. recommend it as a nice budget hotel
- Rebecca (10/5): We would absolutely stay here again. The staff, comfort and cleanliness were perfection! - The host was lovely. The room was so clean and perfect. The cafe was our absolute favorite foodie spot of the whole trip. The staff made the most creative global drinks we've EVER experienced.....We actually returned to the cafe before we headed back home to try some more of their fun coffee concoctions! Nothing at all.
- Cui (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff.
- ameyalli (10/5): - Excellent customer service when we arrived. Room was clean and cozy.
- Brandon (10/5): - Great place.
- Andy (10/5): Great Value, Great Place - It was a great location and the price was great for what you get. I can walk to do many different places for food. There is even a coffee shop downstairs, which was very convenient. You can go next door for lunch as well, so that’s even better.
The place was very clean, although I did find a dead cockroach on the floor. The staffs are very friendly. This is a great place for solo travelers or couples if you don’t want to be right smack in the middle of the crazy hotel strip. I would definitely book this place again. Just the one dead cockroach I found, but we’re in a tropical area, you’d expect at least some insects around.
- Balaji (10/5): - Great property! Budget place without the shrills. Miguel was very attentive and makes great coffee!
- Chuck (10/5): - Loved our stay at this hotel! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great value and would definitely stay here again!
- Caren M (8/5): Small, affordable stay in Cancun - Casa Mallorca is a small family run hotel off a main street, which made it easy to walk to other areas to find food, shopping, etc. The staff were helpful and the cafe that is attached to the hotel is great. Food was tasty and it had excellent coffee.
- Gates (10/5): Exceptional -
- Avni (8/5): Very good -
- Karoly (6/5): - No tv inthe room.
No microvave.
- Yuen Yee (8/5): - It was a lovely place to stay for one night stopover in Cancun. It had plenty of eateries very close and within easy access to buses and taxis.
The check-in was slow and it was not clear where to go. We waited outside the gate and had tried to call the hotel but there was no answer. In the end we enquired at the cafe and was told to wait there until a staff can come check us in.
The room was nice and simple and clean and served our needs.
- Jairo (10/5): - Loved the coffee at the restaurant here.
- Bertha (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): - The family who own & run this property are the kindest of people, not to mention how they do what they can to make sure your experience with them is as relax & comforting as possible. I stay with them every time I pass by Cancun & it’s always such a pleasure to be there.
- Vanessa (9/5): Superb - They were so nice and friendly and the rooms were super clean. We stayed only for one night, but I can really recommend this accomodation... :)
- Fleming (10/5): Brilliant! Hope to come back! -
- Kara (9/5): Superb - Very cute hotel, incredibly clean. The staff were very helpful and kind. They gave us the perfect recommendation for dinner a short walk from the hotel (Taqueria Rigo), and the cafe at the hotel was fantastic for breakfast. Some things to note: arriving after dark, it can be a little hard to find. We couldn’t see any sign and the doors were all locked, so we had to call to be let in. Only other thing is the water pressure in the shower was low. That being said, I would absolutely stay again.
- Adrian (10/5): -
A delightful stay! Casa Mallorca's charm lies in its friendly and accommodating staff. They went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. While the property itself might not offer the luxurious amenities of some larger resorts, the warm hospitality more than makes up for it. Overall, it's a fantastic choice for travelers seeking a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in Cancun.
- West (8/5): We really enjoyed it. Family run. They were very helpful and spoke English well. - Brekfast not included in the price, but there is a great coffee shop/cafe on site which has wonderful coffee and great local dishes. Large fridge in room. Lovely outside patio with cute geckos.
Location is downtown, so a different experience from visiting Cancun hotels strip, a lot less expensive and more authentic.
Staff speak English well, which was important as I don't have much Spanish. Staff booked a taxi back to the airport, for 500 pesos (around GBP 25), whereas you can easily pay double or treble this amount for the airport ride.
We used the bus to travel round the city, which is another real Mexican experience, only 120 pesos per journey (around UKGBP 0.60), but often buses are very full, so strap hanging skills required!
Supermarket and pharmacy nearby. Also large and popular Mexican family restaurant and bakery. No kettle, we had to buy one. No glasses.
- James (10/5): - For my 1st visit to Cancun, my goal was to experience more of downtown culture, before moving to the hotel zone for a few nights. Mission accomplished. My stay here was great! This is small family run hotel. I’m not sure, but maybe there are 10 rooms. My room/bathroom was super clean, wifi and a/c worked great, etc. Diana speaks perfect English and is super nice. She was around all day to help out. My only note is that you can hear general city noise. Not a big deal for me, but I just wanted to note.
As some have posted in reviews, there are no signs for this place. If you arrive during the day when the restaurant is open, you can enter there. If you are arriving super early or late, you might want to just drop them a message to give a heads up.
As for location…You can hail a taxi or city bus from the main street, about 100’ away. A large Soriana supermarket is very close, but I liked the Chedraul more, just a few minutes further. Mercado 28 is about a 1-mile walk. There are a bunch of restaurants in close proximity. They also operate a restaurant and café window store in the hotel. I only ate there once, but it was excellent. Thank Casa Mallorca for your hospitality!
- Sadi (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): - We especially enjoyed the Casa's cafe and the host's friendly service and English.
- Lixuan (8/5): - It is clean. the owner is very nice and helpful. There is no lobby or common sitting area. We arrived late at night, it would be helpful if there is a doorbell. The lady in the restaurant next door confirmed we’re at the right place. installing an exhaust fan in the bathroom with waterproof paint will reduce moisture accumulation. It was a good stay.
- Michael (10/5): - Wonderful location. Friendly and very helpful staff. We will definitely stay here again.
- Francis (10/5): Exceptional - The friendly staff, the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms, the breakfast in the cafe was excellent too.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simone (10/5): Exceptional - Charming off the beaten path, cafe made great coffee. We friendly. Could eat off the floor it was so clean. Parrots flying around the park across the street
- Stacey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly place with great coffee cafe for breakfast. At night on arrival we could not see a name sign so just look for #82
- Merissa (8/5): Mexico 2023 - Staff was nice. The other visitors were loud and you can hear everything. Location was near restaurants and grocery store but worth the taxi ride to the hotel zone. Too far to take the bus comfortably. The gate key didn't work all the time. The manager had to come out late to save me.
- Megan (10/5): - Jorge and his daughter were extremely sweet and helpful! They really made us feel like friends even though we were just there for one night. The area is relatively quiet and next to a park, but there are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Easy to come and go with a very secure gate and lovely plants and flowers. Would definitely recommend!
- Tobias (10/5): Very friendly family business, I couldn’t be happier😀 -
- Jonathan (10/5): A place like home, in paradise! - I felt like at home, Jorge and his family treated my fiance, and I as one of their own. They went out of their way to care for us! For the price and the homelike feeling, you won't find a better place. Guaranteed!
- Gerardo (8/5): - Todo esta muy bien, solo le faltan TVs a las habitaciones
- Colette (10/5): - This is a great place to stay for a layover or short stay in Cancun. Very clean and comfortable.
- Olano (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Hotel Casa Majorca is a dream of a B&B - The rooms at Casa Mallorca are all different and lovely. The hotel has a fabulous little cafe. The bed is fine. The family staff is wonderful. A restaurant next to the hotel is great. Los Abuelos Campestre. If I return to Cancún, I will definitely stay here again. 10 miles to the Hotel Zone. Casa Majorca is nearer to the center of Cancún proper.
- Joyce (9/5): Perfectly fit for my needs - Great location for my situation , close to stores , restaurant and where my family member was.
- Jay (10/5): Such a wholesome little place - The staff and accommodations were fantastic Nothing! Just note the location for your tour pickups and what you plan to do.
- Louis (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed here for the first night after our flight - couldn't have chosen a better place.
- Bernard (10/5): - Staff were incredibly, very informative and friendly. Room was very clean and quiet.
Definitely stay again
- Neri (10/5): - Easy to move around and it's in the middle of everything. The stuff is very friendly and kind. Willing to help.
- Beth (10/5): Fantastic charming boutique in the heart of Cancun - The owners Jorge and Norma went out of their way to make us comfortable. They are kind and very generous people as are their son and daughter, Mike and Diana, who work in the cafe. We had a great breakfast before leaving. Highly recommend this lovely place. Water pressure in our shower was low but was fine in both our kids' rooms.
- Jill (10/5): Amazing! Stay here! - Amazing property, lovely room, super comfortable bed, everything was so clean. Property owners were so welcoming and friendly. Restaurant at the hotel serves excellent food and drinks.
- Jill (10/5): Perfect stay at this lovely family-owned and operated hotel. - Wonderful hosts. Senor Miguel and Senora Norma were incredibly warm and welcoming. Room impeccably clean. Bed very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.
- Claire (10/5): A quick, pleasant stop-off in Cancun - Such a sweet hotel. We loved the breakfast, coffee, great rooms with excellent toiletries and most of all the lovely staff. Nothing much to say here really, we were happy with our one night accommodation in Cancun. Perhaps if we stayed longer we would consider a different neighbourhood but it suited us fine.
- Blanca (9/5): cute - cute place with all amenities, food at the same place was extraordinary! shower water pressure was very poor, would not be able to wash my hair
- Bengt (7/5): Good -
- Santhosh (9/5): Perfect place to stay in Cancun. - Facilities were on par. Overall the property looks beautiful with lots of plants and quirky little stuff everywhere. It’s well maintained, with clean rooms, great service, friendly staffs. Definitely try their coffee( especially the cold brew).
- Amar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Xantor85 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eugene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dogukan (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): An excellent , value for money option in downtown Cancun with a charming host - My room was well appointed , the host was charming , breakfast was excellent and the Casa was in the authentic Mexican part of Cancun. it was also good value for money I have pet hate about my fellow guests who bang their bedroom doors . The doors banged in this Casa . The owner could fix it simply by adding foam around the door surroundings
- Steve (10/5): Great place run by lovely people - Loverly owners who stayed up very late to welcome us after we had delays arriving. Lovely clean room and very comfortable bed. We had to leave to early the next morning but again the owners were there to welcome us and ensure we had everything we needed - a great option if you’re passing through Cancun and don’t want the expense or hassle nothing
- Hoai (9/5): Book here for a long stay! - very nice and helpful staff, especially if you arrive the first time in Mexico and do not speak any spanish. Room is clean, the bed is very comfortably hard.
You should try the new cafe in the lobby which was recently opened. I prefer the European coffee from the good coffee machine.
There are buses quite infront of the hotel going to Hotel Zone (remember if going back from the hotel zone to the hotel, you need to take the R2-Tolido bus, other buses might go to different directions)
what I really like this, there is a very very big supermarket nearby,(Soriana Hiper) lots of other useful shops as well like barbershop etc with really local prices. There are also ATMs in front of the market where you can withdraw cash with a very good fee/rate (not like in the Hotel Zone).
if you walk 10 minutes further, you will find a big outlet with all known brands and a casino to entertain. do not take buses in the hotel zone in the rush hours (starting 16h) to the hotel. All staff from the hotel zone might have off and take the buses to go home and it is difficult to get/hitchhike one.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krystal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Malia (10/5): Cozy clean hotel...would stay again! - A small family-run hotel. Took a minute to find as we arrived after dark, and there didn't seem to be a sign. But the host came to the gate and greeted us. Impeccably clean rooms with everything you need! Friendly staff and we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it. Although we arrived late after a long day of travel, we were happy to stretch our legs and walk to a nearby taco restaurant they recommended, which was delicious!
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Book this place right now! Staff couldn't have been more accommodating, the room was so comfortable and beautiful. The location was great, surrounded by lovely parks to explore and close to some fantastic restaurants. Thank you to Miguel who was so helpful to me!
- Erin (9/5): Great family owned boutique hotel. Great cafe and coffee bar! - Miguel and the staff were very friendly, helpful and accomodating. We would definitely stay again. Nothing to complain about here!
- Costantini (10/5): Amazing stay - Very good welcoming from the staff and nice services such as the transfer to the airport.
- Tim (1/5): Bad -
- Felix (10/5): Visit in Oct 2022 - The owners were very friendly. The room was cleaned each morning while we enjoyed a breakfast of a fruit plate and an entre for under 10 dollars. Hard to find, no name in front. The entryway looks like a long hall with lots of beautiful plants.
- Kirrilly (8/5): Friendly and helpful owners - Owners were extremely friendly and helpful, allowed us late check in and helped us get to our next destination on time.
The hotel itself is very beautiful inside, always love to see plants growing everywhere.
- Hayley (10/5): Very nice! - Everything! Very friendly staff and nice room :-)
- Caj (10/5): - The staff was amazing. Very friendly and accommodating.
- Mary (10/5): Charming little hotel, at a good price. - Beautiful place! So many clever details - furniture, artwork, atmosphere. You can tell that is hotel is well managed, by people who really care about history and hospitality.
- Marianne (10/5): - Such a cute, clean, special place. We were upgraded to a larger room upon check-in which was great. The hosts were so nice and helpful. They cooked a delicious American breakfast for us that was about $10USD/per person. The only downside is that it is hard to find. There isn't a sign so letting them know your arrival time is very important. Located in a neighborhood off of a busy street so a bit out of the way. These were minor things, however. Everything else about this place was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay!
- Brad A (10/5): - Quaint, sweet family owned
- Jennifer (10/5): Love My Stay at Casa Mallorca! - Casa Mallorca, like its name suggests, has a home and cozy atmosphere the moment you walk in! While you can see some history at this place (used to be a home), it’s super clean and well-maintained.
You can get a simple yet nutritious breakfast for about $5 and they have books in the dining/lobby area for you to check out.
Jorge, the owner was super sweet and spent an hour explaining the culture and practiced Spanish with me!
Although it’s not next to the beach, I highly recommend Casa Mallorca if you want to see a more local side of Cancun!
* There’s also a covid testing booth 5 minutes walk away.
- Joan (10/5): A pleasant place - It was the attention to detail that captured my attention. It was obvious the host family put thought into the details that would make the stay comfortable. The hosts were very attentive.
- Tianyi (10/5): - The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. The property was comfortable and cute.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel was very clean. The owners did give us a great time while staying there.
No TV'S, which it was a great experience.
If you are not afraid of trying local restaurants or coffee shops, there are many of them at 10min walking distance.
- Angie (8/5): - The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We stayed 2 nights and had a very pleasant stay. We rented a car so we didn’t have trouble moving around so if you would be taking public transportation may want a different location. There are lots of shops, restaurants and is pretty close to downtown area. The exit to Airport is close as well as the exit to Puerto Juarez. Depending on the room you chose some are spacious some may be on the small side, our room didn’t have a TV but we didn’t mind. We wanted something nice and affordable to sleep comfortable. The feeling is as if you’re staying at a relative’s home. Very cozy and comfortable. I would recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Place was family run and very neat and clean. Lots of character. Very homey. No pool or tv in room
Free breakfast was local fruit and toast. Price was good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very welcoming staff, nice location, 15 walk to Playa del Carmen. The room was nice, the only frustration I had was wifi, which was terrible in the room, but in the lobby was quite ok.
- Naila (8/5): Small hotel, clean and friendly staff. - The hotel was very clean, spotless, good place to stay to do tours in Cancun as it is very good value, there is a big supermarket across the road, where you can buy groceries. A good choice of restaurants and cafés within walking distance. Las plaza mall is nearby too, where I got pay as you do internet, buses and taxis are available just outside in Rodgrigo Gomez Avenue. Overall easy to access. The walls are thin, and sometimes you can hear dogs barking outside but we didn’t mind this, it didn’t affect our sleep. The staff were friendly and happy to help. We didn’t opt for breakfast so I can’t comment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place! Would stay again! Good price too! Busses are a 30 sec walk
- Verified traveler (6/5): - What I didn't like was other occupants shutting doors loudly..and you can hear their loud conversations all the way in your room
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, clean, clean - Pleasant staff and a very cute little hotel. We were disappointed with the location because we thought it was central but was in an industrial/residential area. Might be ideal for people who love to shop in big box stores and malls. Missed having a little fridge and there was no television. Wii-Fi connection was very weak in our room but to be fair, we did not complain and it might have been fixable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice quaint little hotel - Share a bathroom though - Description says PRIVATE BATHROOM. This is not the case. You share one bathroom between 4 rooms. Overall the hotel is cute, hosts are friendly and responsive. They need to change the description though, that is not accurate.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wonderful and helpful staff. Cute hotel with charm - A very good option for mid-range budget. Taxis and buses are frequent and easy and the hotel staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful.
- Shreekrishna (8/5): Great place to stay! - This place is a great place to stay and check out Cancun. It is clean, convenient and affordable. I recommend a car to get around, as its about a 15 minute drive to the "Cancun" part of the city - the beach, pubs and restaurants. Wifi was available, but wasn't strong enough to stream content. Overall, I would stay here again!
- Shreekrishna (8/5): Charming, quiet & convenient place in Cancun! - For the price, you can't beat this place. We had a rental car, and street parking was available making it a perfect place for our visit to Cancun. The staff are friendly, and rooms were clean, and comfortable. Definitely a bed-n-breakfast feel, instead of a hotel. Charming, quiet, and convenient!
The Wifi speed can get slow at times, especially at night. I highly recommend this place to stay if you have a car during your visit to Cancun. We stayed 4 nights at this place during our visit to the Yucatan peninsula. We spent most of the day outside, so the more affordable lodging helped greatly!
- Brenda (10/5): - My husband and I had a wondeful time. Our questions were answered with a clear response that allowed is to go out into thw city and find the places we wanted to see. We asked for recommendations about eating places and they were great. Would stay again if I ever go back to Cancun.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice, but be forewarned that taxis nor Uber can find this place!!
