- Freedom53186151056 (10/5): This gem of an Inn in Stuart FL, a quiet,sweet town - We stopped at the Inn on our Road Trip, driving from Key West, FL home to NYC. Our goal was to only stop at small towns and independent hotels and Inns. This is not so easy to find these days. Oh, and we had our dog, so pet friendly places only. This hotel is a gem. They could give lessons to other hotels and Inns. Remarkable. Every detail is considered for the comfort of the guests. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s super clean, super charming, the beds are comfortable, and every single thing you might need is there. The friendly Innkeepers, Stephen and Christopher are so helpful and friendly. They are both such kind people and made us feel very welcome. The little town is quiet with a few nice restaurants and shops. The walk along the St Lucie River is lovely. It was a really special stay.

An owner took my reservation, greeted me at check-in and walked us to our cottage and gave us a tour. Listen, it’s an old property. It is quirky and beautiful and festive. Relax and leave your car keys in your room—walk everywhere and try Mai Tiki before you eat or drink anywhere else. If you don’t enjoy this property, you are a stick-in-the-mud and should work on your attitude.

We stayed in a quaint king studio in downtown Stuart, and from the moment we walked in, it felt like a warm welcome wrapped in thoughtful details. The room had everything we needed and more… a cozy kitchenette stocked with a variety of coffees, creamers, and waters, making it easy to settle in and relax. And then, like the sweetest little surprise, we returned in the evening to a bag of Tate’s chocolate chip cookies waiting for us. Such a simple touch, but it felt like pure hospitality. The space was spotless, the bed incredibly comfortable, and every detail felt intentional and cared for. Christopher greeted us with genuine warmth, setting the tone for a stay that felt both personal and inviting. The location is just as perfect as the stay itself. You can walk everywhere in downtown Stuart, making it effortless to explore, dine, and soak in the charm of the area. This will absolutely be our go-to place every time we visit Stuart. They are most accommodating, and their rentals are comfortable and beautifully appointed. The Old Colorado Inn is located right in downtown Stuart, within steps of wonderful shops, restaurants, parks and the St. Lucie River and its Riverwalk. No lodgings are more convenient. The only shortcomings were the 22 stairs to reach our suite and the low height sofa and commode. We are seniors and my husband has arthritic knees. These things cause problems for many of the elderly

- Travelings00n (10/5): Fabulous Time! Highly Recommend! - My wife and I enjoyed a lovely stay in the Oasis Cottage. Very spacious, clean and comfortable in a great location. We enjoyed the hot tub and the patio. The patio was nice at night with a glass of wine by the fire table. Our hosts and the staff were all extremely accommodating. We enjoyed walking on the Riverwalk and the surrounding area, shopping in town, and a trip to the beach (15 minute drive). The restaurants were all excellent and we walked to all of them: > Kru Thai - Fabulous Thai food that we enjoyed as take-out in front of the Superbowl. > Stuart Boathouse - Great water views, and the food was OK. Service was very good. > Waterfront - Dined upstairs. Food and service were top notch. Enjoyed a nightcap at a cute table along the Riverwalk in their lower venue. > Eighteen Seminole - OK food. Nice setting. Very good service. > Sailor's Return - Great lunch right on the Riverwalk. Highly recommend. One thing to note is that you will hear some train whistles from time to time. Also the Oasis Cottage bedroom is close to the street. You will hear some morning traffic. I am sensitive to noise, and it did not bother me (or my wife).

I can't say enough good things about this beautifully restored historic inn. Both times our suite was clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable. The property is owned and managed by a local family with deep roots and a passion for saving historic buildings. They are on site, responsive and attentive. We look forward to staying at The Old Colorado Inn again.

- V7178AWsueh (10/5): A bit of history and charm in the heart of downtown Stuart. - I am a resident of Stuart and invited three of my oldest friends before I get together at my home. Unfortunately, I was not able to do it at my house so I contacted Old Colorado Inn and they were able to accommodate me immediately. We stayed for two nights in the Enchanted Cottage, which had a huge beautifully landscape lawn and heated pool. The staff and management went over above to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It was a two-story cottage of over 100 years old, so we automatically felt acquaint holiness when the time we stepped on the porch till we sadly had to leave on Sunday. I would recommend Old Colorado Inn to anyone visiting or just a staycation. It’s also great if you have family coming into town and can’t fit them in your home. The cottage we were in could sleep six people easily.

We had reservation for 1 night and added a night so had the pleasure of staying in 2 different rooms. The first was a standard room which was beautifully appointed. The second was the newly renovated Sailfish Suite. I was blown away by the true spirit of hospitality. We were greeted with smiles, staff gave us a brief history of the 1914 hotel, we were escorted to our room and given suggestions for dining in the area. Each room had coffee set up and complimentary waters, the soap amenities were highend. We had drinks and appetizers at the hotel bar. Grace the bartender was very attentive, drinks were delicious and each different drink beautifully garnished. The appetizers were done perfectly and serving dishes were high quality. I can't say enough positive things about this hotel and look forward to staying again. I saw comments about noise I didn't have that issue but Stuart is definately a busy area with lots of bars having live music we stayed Friday and Saturday night and weren't disturbed. A historic hotel is probably not for everyone but it is for me!

- sbenemer (10/5): A gem of a historical, local inn centrally located in downtown Stuart, perfect for couples and families - We had an absolutely superb stay at the Old Colorado Inn. This was a “staycation” to commemorate our anniversary and the proprietors provided a lovely note and local chocolate covered strawberries from Kilwin’s to help us celebrate. Minnie, the friendly front office manager, showed us around our spacious accommodations, which was just down the street from the main historic hotel. We stayed in the gorgeous Oasis Cottage, a one bedroom home with a huge kitchen and bathroom, elegant bookcases, dining table, private patio with barbecue and firepit, and (the best part) pool access. The Inn’s owners own several cottages situated around a private pool, which makes this compound an excellent choice for large parties of out of town guests with big families. Downtown Stuart has many charming restaurants on offer. We had our anniversary dinner at the wonderful 18 Seminole, an intimate Italian bistro with only a few covers in several rooms in an old cottage. It was “on-site” amongst the other Old Colorado Inn buildings and was an easy walk by the pool to access. We stopped back at the room to rest and then enjoyed a few post-dinner drinks at the speakeasy at Cafe Martier, and had delicious cocktails at the new Dirty South bar down the street. (For out of towners, Stuart nightlife is generally sleepy late in the evening except for these two fun locations.) My only regret is not picking up hotel souvenirs before we left at their front desk/snack bar/historical check in location. It is worth checking out to see the old photographs and memorabilia of the hotel in the early 20th century. In all, a most memorable stay. Thank you for the wonderful experience, Old Colorado Inn!

What a fantastic experience, easy, personable check-in, a little history of the building included with a guided tour. Our room # 11 on upper floor could not have been better, large sitting area, well equipped kitchen and king size bed. We will be back for a longer stay next time in the area. - lls0081 (10/5): Great Get-Away - We rented the Waterview Suite. The photos and description were very accurate. The kitchen and baths follow the historic feel of the property. However, the appliances are all newer and fully functional. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook a few meals. They even included bottled water and a variety of coffee pods. Every staff member was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, we were shown the house, with complete instructions for parking, lighting the fire pit, local amenities, etc. All the staff we encountered during our stay were friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more. The Waterview Suite is directly on the water, with a full, beautiful view. Morning coffee or evening relaxation on the patio is amazing with sunrise/sunset views. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean. The provide plenty of pillows and extra blankets. Cons: There is a train that runs through the town. If this is going to be a problem for you, then you should consider a different town. The Waterview Suite is located on the water. There is a public walkway on the water, so there is some pedestrian traffic going by the home. It is far enough away that it didn't bother us. Also, a local tour begins at the house, so for a few minutes you will see a group of people looking at the house. Neither of these things bothered us or detracted from the overall appeal of the property. These things come with the great location and are unavoidable. If you are looking for bright, shiny and modern. Or, looking for total seclusion. You might consider another town/location. However, this property is located in town, close to a variety of shops, restaurants and amenities. It has it's charm and uniqueness as a historic property. Very please with our stay. I will definitely stay here again. I live about 1 1/2 hour away, and it's a perfect get-away.

- Nanci (10/5): Perfect Place for Family Getaway - The location is amazing! Enjoying the sunset around the fire pit overlooking the water is a once in a lifetime. The historic house was incredibly spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to all of downtown Stuart! Everything was perfect!
- vincem181 (10/5): Frendly welcome staff, great nights sleep in the heart of Sruart - Nice relaxing place to stay close to all great shops and waterfront dinning in Stuart. We enjoyed the river walk that began just a few yards from the hotel. A nice suprise was the Tiki Taxi that makes a 1 hour round trip across the St Lucy River, it docks from a pier connected to the riverwalk. The bed and linens awsome, great nights sleep. Lots to do in Stuart and the Colarado Inn is cental to all of it .

- marta (8/5): - The general manager, Minnie went above and beyond to be to accommodating. Any thing that we needed they provided. The owner Steve was very friendly. Right in the heart of downtown. Great coffee shop was across the street.
- 477sharil (10/5): Best wedding weekend! - My son got married this weekend. We had family come in from Michigan and Ohio. We literally took over the Colorado Inn. Everyone’s places were awesome! We stayed in the enchanted cottage, and it was perfect for the six of us. The best part was having all the family so close and spending time at the pool. Downtown Stuart is a charm, and we actually live in Hobesound, but I’m so happy we stayed at the Colorado Inn for the special event!
- Anthony (4/5): - My girlfriend and I stayed at your hotel, The “Old Colorado Inn” in Stuart, Florida on June 3, 2025 through June 6, 2025. We were in the "Flagler Suite". A king bedroom and a queen bedroom, after our second night my girlfriend noticed a “saw dust” type of substance on the side of the bed she had slept on the night before (the side closest to the window). At first she thought it was bed bugs but upon closer evaluation it appeared to be coming from the ceiling above the king bed. She was very upset when she discovered these particles in the bed. We both also noticed a gritty feeling on our feet and discovered there is apparently a second area at the foot of the king bed as well. She had to have inhaled and consumed some of the feces falling from the ceiling in her sleep. On the 5th, the morning it was discovered, she took pictures (see below), she then took a wet washcloth to remove the feces and smoothed out the bed. Approximately 20 minutes later there were more feces. Housekeeping showed up shortly thereafter (two ladies). She showed them the area in question. The Hispanic lady said she took pictures and sent them to the owner. We never heard anything from him about the issue. The night of the 5th we didn’t want to sleep in the feces so we turned to the spare bedroom. The whole reason we chose this suite was because of the king bed. The overhead light in the spare bedroom would not turn off and the fan would not work either.
