Die Managerin zeigte sich sehr freundlich und hilsbeteit. Die steile Treppe und die relativ harte Bettmatratze kann für ältete Gäste etwas problematisch sein.
- Anita (8/5): Well located with friendly service - Friendly staff and well located. It was clean and comfortable. Appreciated being able to fill our water bottles with filtered water and the option to use the communal fridge. Our room had several different levels of flooring to negotiate which was potentially a fall hazard. Only had 2 coat hangers, more would have been useful. Not a problem for us but all rooms are only accessible by stairs so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

I loved the bathroom design. The hotel is in the middle of old town, in walking distance of good food, coffee and sites like Columbine street.

Das Hotel liegt an einer starkbefahrenen Straße, das war zum Glück in den Zimmern zum Hof nicht zu hören. Vermisst haben wir einen Kühlschrank. Ein Safe wäre auch schön gewesen. Die Betten waren von der härteren Sorte.

- Judy (9/5): Pleasant stay in Ipoh with super friendly staff - Good location within easy walking distance of Heritage district of town which was very interesting. No breakfast at hotel but right next door to a lovely eatery which offered malaysian style breakfast and approx 5 -10 mins walk away from places serving western styles. Staff were kind and super helpful in every way. Can't honestly say i didnt like our room but it was quite 'cosy' in size and with a very small, covered window so felt like we were sleeping in a cupboard (but that may have been because we didn't book direct). We spent so little time actually in our room so it was not the biggest problem.

- Patricia (7/5): Enjoyed our stay but you do have to accept that it’s an old building - The property was very close to Concubine Lane and other sights. The bed was comfy and the shower good There were many different floor levels in the bedroom, a definite trip/fall hazard. The aircon was not that effective, we would have like the room a couple of degrees cooler. We ended up standing the provided floor standing fan on a chair to blow over the bed. Though very well located there is a four lane, quite busy, road at the front of the hotel that you have to cross to see all the sights. This could mean a bit of a wait for a break in the traffic

- ROBERT (10/5): - Muy céntrica la ubicación y a menos de 10 minutos andando desde la estación de tren. Volveré Está muy bien pero en las habitaciones de la última planta hay pequeños escalones o desniveles que son un poco incómodos, incluso puedes tropezar si eres de los que te levantas para ir al baño durante la noche. Si eres mayor o tienes alguna discapacidad sería conveniente que te informes para que te den una habitación sin “obstáculos”.

- Damon (10/5): - Sarang Paloh Heritage Stay was a great base in Ipoh. The staff were genuinely helpful and made everything easy from check-in to local tips. The location is also excellent — close to the main walking areas and attractions, so it was simple to get around on foot. Would happily stay here again. One small note: it can be a bit noisy until around 11:00 PM because of the pub across the street, but it closes early enough that it didn’t keep us up all night. Overall, I’d happily stay here again.
- Catherine (9/5): Awesome small hotel in a heritage building. - The hotel is an attractive and handy place to stay for exploring old and new town Ipoh. Close by are great restaurants and breakfast places, and New Town is full of all the food options for which Ipoh is famous. The hotel is very comfortable with friendly and helpful management and staff. Love all the bird references 😁 The air-conditioning blows directly onto the bed in the room we had. This may not bother you!!!

- Susan (8/5): Lovely building - It is a lovely old building (if you have trouble with stairs you may want to check accessibility) with lots of charm very close to the train station and interesting laneways. A few trip hazards as you enter the room but as long as you notice them or remember them the second time that is fine.

The accommodation is located a short walk from the train station, is right next to the old town and is close to lots of good restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. I have seen a few negative reviews about the air conditioning, but our room got very cold very quickly, so was not an issue at all.
- Thomas (7/5): - Good location in Old Town Ipoh. Friendly staffmember. Big room with comfortable bed and good shower. The room and common areas were really hot. The airco only worked when you were present in the room with the keycard inserted. You only get one keycard so when you’re out for the day, the room gets really hot and it takes a really long time to cool. Also, there’s an event hall in the building and on Saturday and Sunday there are music shows which are really loud so no quiet or relaxing moments in the room until the evening.
- PAUL (8/5): - Location was great. The staff was great as well. This is a well preserved building but comes with lots of stairs and no elevators. Even the room had 5 different elevations. Be aware if you have some mobility issues.

Las muchas escaleras para ir a la habitación y más si vas con maletas. Que no haya una nevera pequeña, el calor de las zonas comunes. Y otra cosa a destacar es el ruido de fuera que nosotros dormimos igual pero hay gente que le costaría.Además mencionar la poca cantidad de agua que sale de la ducha.

It should have stated that the rooms are all upstairs on upper floors and it may not suit those with mobility issues. We were in the fruit dove room and it had a number of floor levels within the room and this was very dangerous. We were not told that we had to turn on the hot water so our first one was cold.

If the room had had windows, it would have been perfect. - The location was perfect -- within walking distance of the train station and the key areas we wanted to see in the heritage district. The decor and fixtures were thoughtfully designed, and the room was comfortable. Nice hardwood floors, good track lighting, comfortable beds. The main downside was that there were no windows in the room, which we really didn't like, but since we were staying for just one night we didn't make a fuss. In the morning, the water in the bathroom also stopped and started a few times, but eventually morning showers were able to be completed.

- Jessica (9/5): Ubicación central en casa con historia - Ubicación super céntrica ideal; muy buena limpieza; comodidad de la cama; el estilo y deco de la casa; la amabilidad de la dueña y la house keeper (excepcionalmente maravillosa); que me dejaron alojarme en una habitación porque llegué horas antes de la hora de checkin; que me trataron con mucho cariño y se preocuparon para que mi estancia fuera perfecta (así ha sido) hasta me cambiaron a una habitación con ventana aunque había hecho uso de la habitación sin ventana (para mi es agobiante) ; me ayudaron con todo; el tamaño de la ducha es impresionante; opciones para cargar varios dispositivos; muy cerca de todo, a 3 minutos a pie Por decir algo, pequeñas cositas sin importancia: había muy poco chorro de agua; que el baño tenía e escaleras y mini altura; no hay ascensor (aunque ese tipo de casas no tienen en Malasia); dan una toalla por persona en vez de 2 por si te quieres lavar el pelo. Yo iba sola, por lo que hice uso de las 2 (si se le pide supongo que darían).

- Lindsey (8/5): Lovely heritage hotel in a good location to explore Ipoh - Lovely heritage hotel, good location, a well-appointed room and a comfy bed. All the staff were helpful and friendly. There was a nice little garden area outside our window and there was very little traffic noise (our room was not facing the main road). The lighting in the bathroom could be improved as it was quite dark; also the tap needs fixing in the Pink Jambu room as it is loose and constantly dripping water.

We didn’t have the breakfast but enjoyed the tea and cold water available at any time. A treasure of a property for those interested in a modernised version of the past.

Family room had a cozy atmosphere. - The location was great - walking distance to lots of food spots and the museums of interest - was even manageable walking distance for my parents who are in their 70s and are a bit slowed down. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, from booking to checkout. Mdm Sharon and Mr Rajah (night guard) were really personable and made our stay better! The private parking was really handy, right across the road. Cleanliness could be better. We took the platinum swiftlet room - the couch was stained and the springs a little jangly (old) but it didn’t smell. The lamps were a little dusty but the cupboard was alright. Our first night the shower drain was clogged with hair etc but Mr Rajah helped us clear it up straight away (not easy to reach as it was underneath some wooden slats). Bathroom was otherwise clean as were the sheets. This is not a complaint but just a note for other travelers, the platinum swiftlet room is the room closest to the road and traffic starts around 6am on a weekday. Even in the wee morning we could hear and be woken up by some heavy vehicles, revving motorbikes so just keep in mind for your booking. I slept well from midnight to 7am but my mum got woken up a few times.

Beautiful renovation including wooden floors, reception area, pictures etc. A treat to stay somewhere different and unique.

The centre of the room has split-level type of sunken area, with a step - which looks great but is a trip hazard. Keep in mind if travelling with elderly. Bathroom a bit dark - especially with the dark decor.

I’d still recommend staying here because of the great location and atmosphere, but I’d go for one of the interior rooms next time — probably much quieter! Our room we had faced the street and didn’t have any soundproofing, so it was super hard to get any sleep with cars passing by all night. Also, when we went to check out around 8 a.m., there was no one at reception and no one answered the phone. We ended up leaving our bags in the room and contacted them by email — they did reply to that quickly.
