Guest Reviews
- Guillermo (9/5): Superb -
- Meta (3/5): Poor - We thought it would be lovely to stay in one of these older villas with high ceilings and french balconies. Absolute worst bed we have ever experienced while traveling anywhere. The matress was so soft and lumpy it felt like the bed itself was broken. The airconditioning did not work properly, it wasn't possible to adjust the temperature. We tried switching to just fan mode to not freeze (the air-con unit is located on the wall opposite the bed so that it blows directly onto you), but the fan did not work for more than 2 minutes at a time. This was during the summer heatwave. This was the worst and most expensive accomodation on our 16-day trip through Italy.
- Jonathan (5/5): Passable - Parking was difficult. I spent over two hours looking for a spot including public parking. Parking. Small room.
- Ili_o (9/5): Great location for visiting the area. Close to Cinque Terre and Porto Venero and Tellaro - the host is great and he suggested great places to visit and very nice restaurants There is no visual mention of Lungomare at the ground floor. Difficult to orient.
- Edouard (7/5): Good place even if it could be cleaner. - Very nice owner. Place is perfect. Bathroom could be cleaner. Rust were in the shower.
- Kristina (10/5): Appreciated! - The man who welcomed us was so nice and had the best recommendations to our stay in La Spezia and Cinque terre. Also the wonderful lady who comes in the morning was super and we felt very welcome as guests here. We will definently return!
- Andrea (10/5): - Wonderful stay we had. The room was so cute and cozy.
- Chung Him Kalman (8/5): - No major issues
5 stjerner.
- Ibcb73 (10/5): The best way to kick off our Italian holiday! - The location is AMAZING. Super close to ferries and some of the best food we had in Italy. Fortunately there was some live music the 2 nights we were there so we were able to enjoy it from our balcony. You could hear it, but it wasn't too loud and with the doors/windows closed you barely heard it. Sergio is lovely and gave us an amazing restaurant suggestion for a local dish, Panigacci. Everything really was amazing. Wish we had another day there!
- Shor (9/5): Superb - The room was clean and well equipped. The location is great - very close to the shopping area and to the docks.
Sergio was very hospitable and gave great tips about restaurants and about traveling around la spezia. I recommend this place whole hearted
L'endroit est calme et bien placé, à seulement une vingtaine de minutes à pied de la gare et à 5 minutes du ferry pour cinque terre;
- Jeffrey (10/5): Exceptional - The host was fantastic with excellent recommendations of places to visit and how best to do it. The location was close to the harbor, bus stops and the train station. Only a single bed. The common room was sufficient but not very comfortable.
- GIUSEPPE (10/5): - Ottimo soggiorno, personale splendido e accogliente. Consigliatissimo
- Paul (10/5): We both enjoyed staying here, and the host couldn’t do enough for us. He was very…?… hospitable.😊 I must apologise for t - Comfortable and quiet and cool 😊 I’m thinking hard…🤔
Really…I can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
- Lori (10/5): - The owner spent the time with us with lots of recommendations for the area. His food recommendation was amazing. Panigacceria was terrific.
The room was very clean and the A/C worked great. Could hear noice from the adjacent units but to be expected in an old building. As a heritage building it is beautifully maintained
- Pierre (9/5): Superb - Non applicable
- Kristin (10/5): Klasse! Hyggelig vert.
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bishruti (8/5): Great place near the sea - The room was sparkling clean, spacious and comfortable. The room has a vintage look and the facilities within the room were very nice. Our host Sergio was very warm and hospitable. He gave us good suggestions for things to do, food to try and places to visit. Honestly, his recommendations were spot on, so I totally suggest going with whatever he suggests. He was reachable and would answer all our questions. And he was always available!
The location of this place is central. There are many nice restaurants in this area. It is close to the sea and there are many bus stops close by. This place is in a nice neighborhood. His staff, Magda is also very kind and helpful. I especially liked their luggage storing facility. It was like staying at a hotel. Would be great to have one more bottle of shampoo and body wash.
- Frans (9/5): Superb -
Ottimi i suoi suggerimenti culinari.
- Janine (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room, smooth communication and flexible check in!
Sergio was such an easy-going and helpful host, providing us with local advice which turned out to be the highlight of our trip! Thank you so much!
- Erik (10/5): Toppen hotell i centrala La Spezia - Fina, rena rum i centrala La Spezia, något högljutt.
- Maria Cristina (10/5): - Struttura molto curata
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The location was excellent, the premises were lovely and Sergio was incredibly helpful, his advice really enhanced our stay! His restaurant recommendations were the highlight! I couldn't find a fault!
- Laura (4/5): Disappointing -
- Skansi (9/5): Comfortable and great location. - Sergio was very friendly and helpful at checkin with suggestions of what to do and recommendations of where to eat.
- Jenny (9/5): We had a great stay here & recommend it! - Very nice area near the sea. A bit cold floors.
- Cristian (10/5): Exceptional -
- andrea (10/5): - Our rooms were beautifully decorated, clean and spacious enough. Our host was great. He provided dinner options for us as well as tips on where to go and what to see. I would recommend this location.
- Jeroen (9/5): Great experience. We will come back. -
- Susan (6/5): - It’s not a hotel, more like Air B&B. The check in is not convenient, almost missed the deadline.
Plus the elevator is inconvenient, starts from 2nd floor.
The owner gave us discounted card for the restaurant downstairs but it wasn’t opened.
Won’t book this again.
- Janine (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely friendly host. All was more than perfect. I felt very comfortable and I would come back any time!
- Marcelo (10/5): Very good hotel in La Spezia - Very well located, just a short walk to the waterfront or downtown. Room is a good size and extremely clean. The owner, Sergio, was very friendly and gave great tips about the city.
- Esra (10/5): - Good location. Clean spacious rooms. Make sure yo understand check in times and call the number if you encounter any issues.
- Barbara (6/5): - Location of the appartment is excellent. Equipment / bed pretty good. The windows do insulate noise very very well. On the downside, the walls a paper-thin. So when Sunday morning some neighbour started at 5 am the discussion how to do the day trip: impossible to ignore. Also many water pipes in the building seemed to pass through our room; the water pumps did kick in at any time of the night
- Alma (10/5): perfect location, very kind host - very good location, beautiful building walls are thin
- Gabriela (10/5): Cinque Terre trip - excellent location, everything accessible on foot nearby, - ship train, city center, restaurants, bus, clean, spacious bright room, comfortable bed, large bathroom, extremely friendly owner Sergio, who gives you the best advice for the best experiences - boutique approach
- CRISTIAN (10/5): - Ottima soluzione affitto camera. Struttura di lusso. Consigliata nel cuore della città.
- Alessandro (5/5): Acceptable But For One Night Only - Location was good. The staff was helpful (they let me into my room earlier than the advertised time). Everything was very clean. The rooms are in an old flat. Hence, the accommodation is neither a self-standing flat (where you would have a couple of rooms) neither an hotel room (where you would have some facilities in addition to a bed and bathroom). I took a single room and it was very small and it somehow looked uninviting and forlorn. I only stayed for one night and in the end it was fine but if I had had to stay longer, I would have hated it.
- Janet (9/5): Superb - A small room as described with a single bed. All the extras. I loved the area and the building. Near the water, shops and restaurants. A good spot to stay , while exploring cinque terre without the pain of taking your luggage etc.
Ferry down the street for the water access to Cinque Terre.
There is an elevator but steps up one level to get to the elevator.
I would stay here again! I would like to try a larger room.
- Andreea (10/5): Excellent choice in La Spezia! - Excellent stay in La Spezia! The owner gave us very helpful details about what to visit and how to reach the best destinations. There was a great cafe just next door where we had breakfast every morning. Our room was very spacious and had a lovely balcony. Also, the accommodation is just a few minutes away from the harbour - would definitely recommend!
- Maximilian (10/5): - Very nice hotel and host!
- Sidonie (8/5): - The room was large and in a great location - a short walk to the Marina and shops / bars / restaurants. The lift isn’t available on the ground floor (it’s an old building) and wouldn’t fit our pram - so we did a fair bit of carrying of luggage / our baby! Lots of suggestions of things to do and see from the owner.
- Smit (9/5): Superb -
- Quincy (10/5): super helpful staff! lots of suggestions on what to do - the owner! it was all amazing
- Luis (8/5): Great location and great rooms. - The entire property is great, very good price for the location. A step away from La Spezia port and vey close to fine restaurants. Bathroom were clean and towels too. Sheets were clean but had a filling they can do better, and I am sure he will after reading this, from 1 to 10 i gave them a 8-9 on the sheets. Not a complain, a suggestion.
I have read some comments about the owner being this and that, but I care less, he is not my travel companion.
I have no complains about him nor the the place he runs.
There is a great coffee shop downstairs with great prices and great food, all is good in there.
Yes, i would definitely book them again.
I have traveled more than 50 countries and with that visited many hotels, so my rating is a go.
Again, for the place and the great location and the price i would book the place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good rooms close to town centre - Close to city centre and harbour
Check there are two check in times and how to get to the hotel if you are driving due to one way streets
Overall a good place to stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very clean, cosy, large, everything you need in travel available in the house.
- Olivier (8/5): A Real Gem - This is a real gem. So much better than hotels at the same price. The only slight inconvenient is that you have to arrange your check-in time but after talking to the owner (Sergio) I got there around 10am when the cleaning lady was finishing up the room. Amazing location in the center of La Spezia. Walking distance from the ferries to Porto Venere and Cinque Terre.
- Max (8/5): - The property is well situated in the center of Spezia, 5 minute walk from the port and 15 minute walk from the railway station. There are nice restaurants near by. What I really had issue with was contacting the owner before the trip when I needed to make changes to the itinerary. The phone listed on the Expedia is not answered (there is usually no one in the office). Email or alternative number were not disclosed. I waited for 3 days to get an answer and had to drop my itinerary alteration plans. It is also a funny check-in policy between 6 pm and 8 pm where the guests would be charged late check-in fee after 7:30 pm (?). We made there at 7:55 and the owner was about to leave.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay - Lovely hotel and owner was super helpful with tips on the Clinque Terre and local restaurants.
- Antonio (10/5): Convenient and affordable - We wanted to visit the Cinque Terre, but didn't want to pay the expensive price of hotel rooms in that area. We found Lungamore rooms which are conveniently located in La Spezia, a surprisingly nice city in the proximity of Cinque Terre, Lerici, and other nice cities in the Italian Riviera.
- Patricia (8/5): Nice room in the centre of town - Lovely room in the centre of town. 5 min close to the Port if you are planning to travel to the Cinque Terre. The room was cleaned daily and the owner gave us very good advice on where to eat, places to visit and local information. Great Stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Centrally located, easy walk to everything I wante - The town is very friendly and fun. I regretted leaving at the end of my visit.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room is large however, there was no elevator up to third floor where the rooms are, we must haul our luggages up a couple of stairs, it was hard. Check in time is 6 pm which is very inconvenient.
- William (2/5): Overbooked and cancelled with only 24 hours notice - I booked this hotel on March 19 for a mid June vacaction. My stay here was in the middle of my trip. I got an email the day before my stay (meaning I was already in Italy on vacation) stating that they overbooked and cancelled my reservation. I was only checking my email every 2-3 days as I was on vacation. I was lucky that I happened to check it that day. They booked me a room in one of their affiliated places. The place was horrible. It felt like a hostel. And to make matters worse, after we double checked that we were all set in the new place twice, they still didn't reserve us a room. We got there and the woman had to call all over to find out that lungomare forgot to email them about the room. So much added stress with no apology or anything. How do you not realize until the day before that you over booked? Do not stay here if you want to make sure you have a place to sleep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great Location. Very nice bathroom. Host friendly and gave great ideas on places to see and restaurants to go to.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Recommended accommodation in La Spezia - Excellent place to stay and great local recommendations for activities and restaurants!
- Stephen (8/5): Needs some attention - Very difficult getting up dark flights of stairs, no assistance and no one to greet you. reception on 2nd floor and only open for a short period each day. The overall condition needs some attention, shower leaking and wall in bedroom wet and decaying in corner of room, toilet bowl needs a good clean as well.
When staff were available they were pleasant and helpful.
- Carlos (10/5): Super nice stay. - We found this place through hotels.com and we found it really nice. The property sits on a classic building and the rooms look very new and are kept spotless. Sergio the owner was very helpful in planning our day trips. This in not a hotel and has no permanent staff. You'll get a key for the outside door and other for your room, so its like a studio apartment, less the kitchen. It's walking distance to the ferry boats and short taxi ride to train station, we did it walking with a 15 minute stroll.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent stay - Friendly staff. Room was nice. View was pretty boring.
- Nitin (6/5): Brilliant location but not as new as the pictures - Wonderful location 5 mintue walk to the main Street. Paper thin walls, can hear everything in other people's bathroom. Cleaner comes once a day at 9am. Not accommodating at all for late check out. WiFi is terribly inconsistent
- bruce (8/5): - Nice hotel, pity about the inflexible check in times which made planning things a little difficult (6-8pm only).
- Aiki (10/5): Italian charm ! - Hotel is a converted appartment in a old beautiful building and has a very European feel to it with high ceilings and overlooking the funky courtyard . The girl ( sorry lost the name ) at the check in was extremely friendly and helpful with advice on hiking trails . Thank you again ! Room is very quaint but perfect to experience real Italian living .
- kaiser gul (8/5): ELEVATOR FROM FIRST FLOOR - THIS PLACE WAS NOT A HOTEL AS WE THOUGHT (OUR MISTAKE), IT WAS PRIVATE RENTAL ROOMS WITH CHARM 6 OF THEM
WITH STRICT CHECK-IN RULES ,
- Germaine (8/5): Charming Lungomare - This is a very small, boutique hotel right near the water in La Spezia. It is about a 15 minute walk from the central train station. The rooms are super clean and quite comfortable. I had a single room (one twin bed) as I was traveling solo and it worked well. The hotel does not have a full time front desk so keep in mind the check in times are limited when you are making plans. When I checked in the staff member provided tons of advice on the area and for visiting Cinque Terre. This was both welcome and invaluable for my short visit. I would definitely recommend this unique hotel.
- David (10/5): Excellent Position - Hotel exceed expectations, with great position for exploring the La Spezia & its surrounds, presentation of the rooms and facilities. Staff very helpful an arrival. Would recommend to all travellers.
- Aaron (8/5): Nice hotel, a little hard to find - The hotel was nice and only two blocks from the port. The rooms were nice and well maintained. The only issue we had was it was a bit hard to find. The hotel is really just five rooms located in an apartment building. There is no sign for the hotel just listed on the call sheet for the building when you hit the buzzer for the hotel it automatically unlocks the door and then you have to go up two flights of stairs. Otherwise the hotel was nice. No breakfast, but a discount at the coffee shop next door. There is not a 24 hour person there so make sure you show up during the listed times or you cannot check in. We showed up about 6pm and had no problem checking in.
- Tammy (10/5): Beautiful rooms - The rooms are adorable at Lungomare. Shower facilities excellent. The hotel is within 20 minutes walking distance to the trsin station. Would return again.
- huong anh (10/5): This place has the whole package! - It was such a wonderful 3-day time staying in this lovely hotel. There's absolutely nothing I could complain about this place because it got the whole package: Great service - Nice staffs - Pretty Room - Excellent location! (Omg please don't feel like I was hired to praise them like this). It was actually 20 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel but I didn't mind at all because I could find all kinds of shops and restaurants straight on the way. This hotel's like in the middle of everything! What I love most was perhaps the hospitality and friendliness of the staffs, staying very late to slowly instruct me with everything and give me very useful advices for eating and sightseeing. Indeed without him I could even never know about the beautiful Portovenere. Highly recommended!
