• Catherine (8/5): Fantastic staff member and good food - The best thing about this stay was the lovely lady serving in the restaurant. She was also doing check in. Such a friendly woman. The lobster dinner was also excellent. Room clean, spacious and has a bath tub as well as a shower. Location is convenient for the Cabot Trail and fairly near the Skyline Trail. The coffee machine in our room didn’t work.

• YUNG-SHENG ROBERT (9/5): A nice location to stay if you are visiting west side of this National Park - It’s in a middle of nowhere and it’s kind of easy to visit the Skyline early in the morning. It is very quiet too. Our cottage provides lots of dishes that I can make a wedding bouquet without any trouble! A good size of fridge too. It’s a bit out of date in the kitchen drawer. The WiFi connection is not so great in the entire area. If you need to send something important, you might want to wait until you finished the entire National Park area. This may not be the Motel & Cottage’s fault.

• Akiyo (9/5): It was great to stay! - The room is wide and cozy. The restaurant opens from 7:00am to 10:00pm. The location is close to the pleasant bay. The door of our room was too tight to open.

• Patrick (7/5): Clean rooms, some renovations needed in the cabin. - We were "upgraded" to a cabin at no extra charge due to a system failure. Location is easily found off the highway with a view of the mountains. Lots of towels and hygiene supplies. We were given a cabin with 2 rooms with double beds because they lost our original booking with a system power failure. It seemed like there was water damage so the floors need replacing and the tub shower combination also needs an upgrade. But the rooms were clean and there were plenty of supplies. Wifi was available but no phone service for our cell phone, not sure if its due to being in a valley or our cell phone service provider.

• Robert (5/5): Basic motel - Basic, budget-friendly motel with a beautiful quiet off-the-road setting, lots of outdoor space and nice views of the surrounding mountains. The location felt very safe. The provided Keurig coffee machine was nice to have. Restaurant onsite is convenient There are not many options for over-night accommodations in this area so it definitely provides a welcome place to stop and spend the night. As noted the motel is fairly basic and one could say it is in need of some TLC. The rooms are on the smallish side with dated decor. While our room was called a queen bed room the bed seemed more like a double-size bed (not queen) and it was a bit saggy in the middle. There was NO fridge or microwave which almost universally available these days.

• Elke (6/5): Es gibt noch viel zu tun - Die Lage ist super und das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, Bettwäsche ist sauber und man hat täglich frische Handtücher bekommen. Uralte Tapeten, Badezimmertüre ist 2cm schräg eingebaut worden, die Malererarbeiten sind ein gekleckse das Zimmer ist dunkel und der Fernseher ist winzig (26" Monitor). Also der heutige Standard sieht anders aus. War die schlechteste Unterkunft die wir in Nova Scotia hatten.

• David (6/5): Le personnel sauve un hébergement un peu vieillot - L'emplacement idéal pour faire des randonnées dans le parc (Attention si vous hébergez dans ce coin, vous êtes obligé de régler le parc pour le traverser sinon grosse amende !!!), Le personnel très accueillant et particulièrement les serveurs du restaurant très gentils. La qualité des plats du restaurant qui sont variés et très bons (heureusement car il n'y a pas grand chose autour). La propreté de la chambre. La chambre est sommaire, les tapisseries sont d'un ancien temps, un coup de modernité ferait du bien. Le wifi pas toujours capté dans les chambres. L'accueil du propriétaire pas très chaleureux. La douche était rafistolée et l'eau chaude pas très pratique à obtenir

Curtains on the front window were almost sheer had no privacy. Mattress was very uncomfortable. Water pressure and temperature unpredictable someone flushed a toilet next door and the water got really hot when showering.
• Catherine (4/5): - Family-run old-style motel in the heart of Cape Breton national park so if you are looking for a place to crash while hiking perfectly set. But property is badly in need of an overhaul - rooms in poor condition, mattress needs to be replaced and shower needs to be replaced (literally duck-taped together and we were afraid to use it). There is a restaurant on-site which was great as limited options close-by but food is at best average. Won't be back

No hairdryer in the room. The plastic covering on the beds was disruptive to sleeping. Hot water and cold water taps backwards in bathroom.

• Andreanne (6/5): - We found the accomodation pleasant overall but the shower gave us problems. The shower diverter redirecting the hot & cold taps to the shower head were difficult to control, making it difficult to control water temperature. No fridge in room. Mattresses were very comfortable.

Cold water was coming from the spout and only hot water from the shower head, so we couldn't take shower at all. Also the shower head was blocked and was just trickling. May be just our room, unfortunately. The previous guests who stayed here might not have made the staff about this issue. I mentioned this at the front desk and they took note of that. Food was amazing. Trina was amazing. We requested vegetarian food without cross contamination. She went extra mile to inform the chef, made sure we were comfortable. She gave suggestions about the places around to visit. Thank you, Trina.

Lives up to the name of cottage - view of the mountain☺️ Excellent cottage complete with everything we needed we got a 2 bedroom unit. Cannot connect to internet where we were we had to go close to the office to get internet

• Robert (5/5): Probably would not recommend - Location was ideal. Had a restaurant on the property. Food was good and wait staff were pleasant. Was quiet. They were very accommodating when we asked to shorten our stay. Room was very shabby and run down. No secondary lock on door. Door did not open and close easily. Furniture worn and chipped. Sheets very thin. Towels didn’t look clean. Tub and shower area was duct taped. Decor was absolutely dated and ugly.

Could hear neighbours easily and their bath draining sounded like it was in our room. Peeling wall paper in the bathroom was stapled to the wall. Shower stall cracks covered in tape and caulking. Old worn tacky furniture. On site restaurant did not accommodate gluten free.
