- Brittany (10/5): A relaxing trip with luxurious amenities. I would loved to stay there again. - Breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of options. I enjoyed both their Western style breakfast items, like their croissants and pastries, but especially loved their Japanese menu items and mineral eggs. It was very convenient to have breakfast on the property, and the eating area had a lovely view of the garden. The bedding was very hard for a westerner. We had issues making ourselves comfortable with the mattresses, but we managed. I would also say, it was difficult to navigate to the hotel from our train station. We got off at a more remote location, so that was difficult to navigate by bus.

- Thomas (9/5): Schönes Onsen-Hotel mit allem Komfort. - Takinoyu ist ein typisches japanisches Onsen-Hotel mit allem Komfort, den man dort erwartet. Angefangen beim überaus freundlichen Empfang über die jederzeit sehr aufmerksame Rezeption bis zu den überall freundlichen Mitarbeitenden fühlt man sich einfach gut aufgehoben. Wir wurden sogar mit einem viel grösseren Zimmer als gebucht überrascht, in dem es auf dem Balkon ein privates Rotemburo gab. Das Frühstück und Abendessen sind hervorragend. Der Innenhof ist ein japanischer Garten mit Koi-Teich. Wer ein paar Tage in einem Onsen-Hotel entspannen will, ist hier richtig. Das öffentliche Mineralbad des Hotels ist zwar sehr grosszügig, der Rotemburo aber eher klein. Er befindet sich darüber hinaus an einem wenig ansprechendem Ort zwischen zwei Wänden.

- Ann (10/5): - Beautiful property. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Hotel personnel are courteous and friendly-everyone greets you and willing to answer any questions. The front desk was very helpful in making reservations at the restaurant we were interested in. The man who escorted us to the room spoke English and pointed out various locations in the hotel (breakfast venue, onsen, lounge). He was so pleasant and courteous. Onsen is large and very relaxing. We had a wonderful stay.

We asked for directions a few times, and the staff provided clear directions to the places we wanted to visit. I liked the hotel's handmade wine which was served to us during dinner. The dinner was delicious as well! For buffet breakfast, there was a wide selection of food. Most of the food were delicious! There was a floor light that we could not switch off at night, in spite of trying all the light switches. Thus, we used the drying rack with the towels to block out most of the light.

- Chih Ling (10/5): - 停車場還有貼心的服務人員協助搬運行李分，進房後映入眼簾的是出乎意料的房間設施與寬敞舒適空間，房內還有半露天個人溫泉池，晚餐也非常豐盛用心，還有提供DIY溫泉蛋，相當用心且值得推薦的溫泉飯店。

- Kelly (8/5): - The property itself is beautiful (if maybe a little dated) and the room we had was lovely. Our only disappointment was the area surrounding the property. The pictures provided through travel agencies are not accurate: this hotel is not secluded or in the mountains or even remotely close to nature. It is in the middle of an urban development, and not a particularly modern or advanced one. Still had a lovely time! Just not what we were expecting.

- Chi yuen (8/5): 當代與傳統的结合 - 很大很舒適的温泉浴場，遺憾的是我沒有预訂酒店晚餐。但是酒店附近也有不錯的餐廳。房間寬敞，日式中庭很有特色。
- Anthony (6/5): Disappointing stay - Chose this hotel as it’s a meeting place for the tour to Ginzan onsen . Room is nice and spacious with a hot tub. Free shuttle from the train station to the hotel which you have to book in advance. Really rigid with their check in and check out times. Inflexible staff. Felt very rushed during our Kaiseke dinner as our tour ran late waiting for 2 stragglers and our dinner started late. Breakfast buffet rather stale.

- Melissa (10/5): - The Takinoyu Hotel was superb! It was larger than I thought and very luxurious feeling. We booked one of their more traditional rooms which was very spaceous and the view of the garden was lovely. We didn't have time to visit their baths but they looked very nice. The staff were great also, very friendly and helpful! Overall excellent hotel, would definitely stay here again!
- Colin (10/5): Outstanding Yamagata Hotel - Wonderful ryokan / hotel with its own onsen. It was only a one night stay, wish it could have been longer. Ideal hotel to relax and unwind at. The set menu evening meal was outstanding and great value - make sure to add it for one night! The onsen facilities at the hotel and in room bath were excellent. Recommended hotel if you’re in Yamagata.

- Ana (10/5): - This is such a beautiful Onsen with an incredibly kind staff. We took a gamble in coming up to Tendo during our 2.5 week trip to Japan, and this stay easily became the highlight of our trip. We stayed in the suite with a hot tub in the balcony, and the room was spacious, clean, and traditional. The breakfast had a variety of choices, and the dinner (separate charge) was delicious with locally sourced food. Give this place a try, you’ll feel refreshed after your stay!
