Diana (10/5): Beautiful views along the river! - Our apartment overlooked the river above the busy tourist area of Ribeira. It was quite spacious with lofty ceilings and windows that fully open to enjoy the sights and sounds. It’s in a separate building a few steps away from the main hotel. Breakfast was included in our stay and was a lovely spread in the restaurant with fresh fruit platters, cheeses, meats, pastries, fresh eggs to order and table service either inside or outside on the patio overlooking the river. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were able to leave our luggage behind the front desk all day after we checked out as we had an evening flight. Be aware that musicians sing below the rooms that face the river during the day and until around 10 pm at night during the weeknights. Not sure if they go later on the weekends. We found it to add to the charm of Ribeira, but if you like to have quiet earlier in the evening, keep that in mind.

The room was large, beautiful and equipped with a small kitchenette which we didn’t use but had everything you’d need if you wanted to have a meal. The breakfast was really good and you could special order eggs, omelets, etc. I would definitely come back to this hotel if I return to Porto.

Die Lage ist einfach perfekt: direkt an der Strandpromenade mit Balkonblick auf den Douro. Das gesamte Team, einschließlich der Managerin, war jederzeit sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Not letting anyone check in until 3 was a little annoying. I work for a luxury hotel and we allow people to check in as soon as the room is ready and don’t make them wait for an arbitrary time.

Não chega a ser um problema, mas é bom saber que não passa carro na frente, então se você vier com táxi do aeroporto e tiver com malas grandes terá que carrega-las em uma descida. Mas o próprio hotel tem transfer pelo mesmo preço do táxi do aeroporto e o transfer te deixa na porta. Por isso, recomendo fechar isso com eles também.

Die Lage direkt am Douro ist unschlagbar – schöner kann man in Porto kaum wohnen! Das gesamte Personal war außergewöhnlich aufmerksam, herzlich und professionell – von der Rezeption bis zum Housekeeping wirklich 1A. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen. Das Frühstück war ein echtes Highlight: frisch gepresster Orangensaft, Sekt, Lachs sowie frisch zubereitete Eierspeisen (Spiegelei, Omelette oder Rührei) auf Bestellung – einfach fabelhaft. Für mich steht fest: Bei meinem nächsten Besuch in Porto werde ich definitiv wieder dieses Hotel buchen. Mit bestem Gewissen kann ich es zu 100 % weiterempfehlen! Es gibt absolut nichts zum mangeln : es war top Sterne haben sie ja schon !! von mir bekommt Porto River ❤️ ❤️❤️

William (8/5): If you want to be right where the action is, this is the spot for you! - Fantastic location, right on the Douro river. One bedroom apartment with lounge area, very high quality fixtures and fittings. Good shower and a good lift up to rooms. Bedroom at the rear very quiet and comfortable. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Be prepared for quayside singers / saxophonists and buskers on the quayside until 22:00 at night. The couch in the TV room / lounge (at the front on the river) was also not particularly comfortable. Bathroom could do with more shelf space (could be easily solved with a set of shelves in the space under the window.). Also BE AWARE the hotel is 50 metres inside a “no traffic” zone and you need to walk down with your cases unless you use the hotel (premium price) taxi. Better directions for an approach on foot would be appreciated.

What almost ruined our stay was seeing a lady, who we think was the manager or owner, (we think she was Brazilian, from the accent) talking, or rather shouting, at the reception staff in such a rude manner in front of us, that it reminded us of the days of slavery. It's a shame that they put such low-level people in charge of managing a hotel! It gives a terrible image!

La zia Flà (10/5): Gentilezza , pulizia e ottima posizione. Consigliatissimo - La struttura bellissima, curata nei dettagli e super pulita . Tutto lo staff gentile , disponibile e sorridente e mi hanno sempre aiutata molto dato che ero in sedia a rotelle . Ringrazio in particolare modo la ragazza alla reception, professionale in tutto e davvero gentilissima. Situato di fianco ad un ristorante favoloso. Colazione ottima , servita in una sala vista fiume e ponte . Letto molto comodo , stanza ampia , accappatoio e ciabattine; degustazione vino Porto offerta in loco più acqua , caffè, 2 mele, 2 cioccolatini e bottiglia di vino offerte in camera . Se devo proprio trovare qualcosa i cuscini per noi erano troppo alti e in bagno sarebbe comodo un bicchiere per lo spazzolino da denti . Lo sgabello in doccia scivolava , ho preferito non utilizzarlo perché era proprio pericoloso . Zona non accessibile a tutti i taxy e Tuk Tuk . Devono avere un permesso speciale.

The hotel is well located near the river and the lounge area was quirky and comfortable. There was a bit of confusion about how room service worked. The room guide said to speak to reception but you need to order directly from the restaurant.

The apartment was modern and clean with all amenities, good heating/AC. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, there was a good variety and it was wonderful to eat all fresco with heaters in the December sunshine. There was a cleaning service everyday. The singer on the promenade can often be heard from the room. Better-sealed windows would help keep the music outside and make the stay more peaceful.
