• Yonomusiki (10/5): At the Heart of Seoul - This was my first experience with a Four Seasons property, and I suspect it may remain one of the finest hotel stays I have had. My family stayed in an Executive Suite during our visit. The hotel sits beside Gwanghwamun Square, which many Koreans consider the symbolic heart of Seoul. From here you can see the grand axis that stretches from Gwanghwamun Gate toward Geunjeongjeon Hall (of Joseon Palace) and the presidential office, the Blue House. Behind it rises Bukhansan, unfolding like a folding screen. It is a view that feels both historical and deeply Korean. The energy of the city is also remarkable in this part of Seoul. From Gwanghwamun a wide boulevard runs in a straight line toward City Hall, Namdaemun, and Seoul Station. This long axis creates a sense of movement and direction that quietly defines the character of central Seoul. The lounge offers another beautiful perspective of the city as well, with views that extend from Namsan toward Gwanghwamun. Within the hotel itself I was pleased to notice many subtle expressions of Korean aesthetics. The spaces feel refined without trying too hard. The lounge staff were especially impressive. Their training was evident and their manner remained calm and well measured throughout our stay. I also arranged a visit to the hotel spa for my mother, which she thoroughly enjoyed. It became one of the highlights of our time there. The hotel also provides a thoughtfully curated walking route around the neighborhood. It is a wonderful way to experience the area and to understand why this part of Seoul holds such significance. If one were deciding where to stay in Seoul, this property would very easily be my first recommendation. The dining options deserve a quiet mention as well.

And then there are places that practice hospitality as an art form. The Four Seasons Seoul is firmly in the second category. Our stay began March 3rd — two nights initially, then we stepped away for a night to do a temple stay nearby. When we came back (on my birthday, no less), the hotel had prepared something genuinely moving: a personalized, thoughtful, and beautifully arranged welcome that none of us expected. It was the kind of gesture that only happens when a team is actually present — paying attention, caring about the details. I want to name names, because these individuals deserve recognition: ∙ Daisy & Harper (reception) — gracious, composed, and genuinely warm ∙ Rose Kim & Lucia (guest services) — went above and beyond at every turn ∙ Jaden & Matthew — made us feel completely at home in our rooms, thorough and attentive without ever feeling intrusive And the food — two highlights worth calling out. The breakfast buffet is a true event: lavish, diverse, and delicious enough to rearrange your morning schedule around. The Japanese fusion restaurant is sophisticated and inventive — easily one of the best meals of our entire trip to Korea, and we ate very well throughout. This is the Four Seasons Seoul: Korean elegance, impeccable attention to detail, and a staff that treats every guest as if their stay is the only one that matters. Worth every moment.

Our Deluxe King room on the 20th floor was spacious, thoughtfully designed, and exceptionally comfortable. The bed and pillows were the best we have ever experienced, and we slept beautifully each night. The staff were warm, welcoming, and consistently helpful, making us feel truly at home throughout our stay. Having stayed in many five-star hotels around the world, we can confidently say this was among the very best. Thank you Four Seasons for a wonderful stay.

It's a beautiful hotel, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable and breakfast is extraordinary with Western, Asian and Korean options. The service is warm and hospitable. It's ideally located in a central part of Seoul. If you're a walker, it's possible for you to walk to the main palace as well as Bukchon Hanok Village. I also highly recommend the Korean scrub experience (which is separately located from the spa at the attached sports club). It's a private experience and very luxurious. Also the speakeasy in the basement is beautiful. The only disappointment was the nail bar. I reserved a gel mani with nail art, and it took 2.5 hours even though I only got nail art on two fingers. My husband's reaction when he saw them was, "That's it?" (It cost $50 for just the two on top of the cost of the gel mani). I would still get a manicure there because the technician did a very good job, but I don't think she was practiced in doing nail art.
• Shane816 (2/5): VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR A FOUR SEASONS - My family and I stayed here for a couple of nights. We had been very excited to to try the Four Seasons Seoul, everything online looked beautiful. Sad to say we were very disappointed. Nothing was particularly horrible, however, this hotel definately did not live up to the standards of a Four Seasons. It was similar to an experience of a low level Marriott. The service was inconsistent. Some staff were terrific while others were unhappy/unhelpful. This hotel does not go above and beyond in any way. They stick tight to the terms and are not willing to give a truly special or unique experience unless you pay for it. Some Examples: -We were excited for the kids club. However, at check-in were informed its only open on weekends and they charge a fee. (Ofcourse they do) - Our 5-year old daughter was charged ~$30 for breakfast each day even though she ate almost nothing. -The room was VERY hot and the AC did not work. We made do with a small fan that they brought. -No help with luggage or even an offer to help checking when checking out. -Gym staff were not friendly, would not even make eye contact or smile. -Breakfast was subpar. (service was inconsistent) -For a 5-star hotel they nickel and dime you for everything. They charge for toothbrushes etc. -We booked through Chase's The Edit. No upgrade, small 1-hour late checkout despite rooms being available. -We had a $100 property credit, the staff informed us the small ~$7 room service charge would not be covered, however the food itself would be... these types of nit picky things are very annoying, especially when paying for a 5-star hotel at this price point. While this is absolutely within the terms of the credit it is just in bad taste. This Four Seasons is NOTHING like other Four Seasons we have stayed at. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay. All of the nickel and diming left us wanting to leave. We visit Seoul somewhat frequently and had previously stayed at the Park Hyatt. It was a much better experience and they treated us fantastic.
• SixpackDC (10/5): Best hotel in Seoul! - This was our second stay at the Four Seasons Seoul. In fact, we stayed in the same Palace View Executive Suite as the last time. We reserved an airport pickup which was done very smoothly. We were met at the entrance of the hotel by two staff who ushered us directly to our suite. They remembered that we stayed at this property before which was a nice touch. The check in process in our suite was convenient but I felt it was somewhat forced and cold. A subtle feeling...but it definitely did not give us that relaxed warm feeling. The view from the corner room is exceptional and the reason for us to keep coming here. We could see the Presidential Blue House, Gyeongbok Palace, and the Gwanghwamun area from the suite. The location is the best in Seoul with walking access to all the interesting locations. Right outside the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants where everyday locals eat. The club lounge was nice with great food/drinks.

The location of the hotel is excellent and is within walking distance to most of the city’s major attractions. For a tourist, that is the most important convenience.

I was expecting someone can help by calling medical services or guidance to a foreign person to what can be offered to his condition at that night after several calls but no it’s not really what they do.
• blakewoodo (10/5): Flawless - Flawless in absolutely every sense. The hotel itself is a gorgeous design, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The gym is the largest/best in a hotel l've ever seen, the pool is perfectly maintained, and sauna was just excellent. The room design is beautiful and I think perhaps the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. The blackout curtains do their job perfectly (had absolutely no idea what time of day it was when I awoke). For dining, the breakfast was among the most impressive of any hotel I've seen. Not only the sheer variety, but quality of every item was amazing. Maru, the cafe, has a wonderful wine list and the burger was delicious. Even it every single one of the remarks above wasn't true, it would still be a 11/10 stay due to the service. I feel confident that any single member of the staff could successfully run their own hotel based on the level of excellence I experienced. The coordination among staff to have bags seamlessly taken from room to storage to taxi saved valuable time, effort, and energy during a short trip. No request is met with "I'm not sure" or "this is the wrong department", but "yes of course" to the point that it feels the entire staff is working the same job: to ensure the guest has a perfect stay. They succeeded.

• 23sncbs (10/5): Lovely, exceptional hotel - There may be other hotels with equally top-notch rooms, but where the Four Seasons really excels is the level of service provided to each esteemed guest. We stayed here for multiple nights and were very “needy” guests, yet were made to feel like no request was too annoying or too frequent. Everyone is incredibly professional, kind, and goes above and beyond. It’s a level of service that you just don’t see anywhere in the US, to be frank, and is exceptional even by Korean standards. The spa is excellent. The one area of improvement would be the breakfast buffet in the Market restaurant. While acceptably tasty, the variety of food on offer barely changes from day to day and becomes somewhat tedious. Of course, the service in the restaurant is worthy of the Four Seasons brand :) Another thing to bear in mind is that the location in Gwangwhamun, while convenient to many tourist sites, may also mean you could be snarled in traffic during protests. This did not outweigh the benefits of staying at the hotel, in our view.

While I typically wait until the conclusion of a trip to post reviews, the caliber of service here compelled me to share my experience immediately. I would like to specifically commend Jake for his exemplary service. Beyond delivering my luggage, he took the time to engage in a genuine, welcoming conversation that truly made me feel at home. He further went above and beyond by arranging a complimentary transfer to Myeongdong for my shopping. Jake is a phenomenal asset to your team and deserves high recognition. The front desk team has also been incredibly accommodating, granting me both an early check-in and a late 2:00 PM check-out to align with my flight schedule. Most impressively, the level of personalized attention is unlike anything I have encountered. Upon my arrival, the staff greeted me by name before I had even reached the desk—having noted it from my vehicle as I pulled up. This level of attentiveness and coordination is world-class. Bravo to the entire team; I am currently awaiting room service and have no doubt it will be as exceptional as the rest of my stay.
• SINWSSS (10/5): 2nd visit - still good - The city view executive suite we were allocated was well maintained and spacious. The breakfast spread in the Market Kitchen as well as canapés in the lounge were the highlights of our stay, although the quality of the coffee at breakfast was inconsistent. Several eating places as well as the subway within 5-10:minutes walk.
• PatrikL245 (8/5): It is a large hotel, and you can feel it - The hotel is great, but not quite exceptional. A lot of that has to do with the size of the hotel (almost 400 rooms), meaning it does not feel intimate or private and staff are not able to provide personalized service or remember names etc. The lobby was always crowded, and felt like a large average 5-star Marriott lobby. (Having visited the lobbies at Josun Palace and Signiel, they executed this much better). FS lobby was clean and stylish, but people lining up to the desk and waiting their turns etc. In my opinion the best hotels have tony and cozy lobbies, where you rarely see anyone and tye doormen learn your names quickly, this was not the case here. That being said, the staff and service was always excellent when we faced the staff in any situation. The location of the hotel in Seoul in more important than one might think. I often neglect the location when bookign hotels, as I assume the best hotel in the city is usually located in the best address. However, in Seoul it really depends on what are you looking for. For us, the location was not optimal, as we found ourselves taking a taxi to the other side of the river almost everytime we left the hotel. And in Seoul that is 40 minutes even with out rush hour, and 1 hour when there is traffic. FS location is good for a few attractions, but if fine dining or shopping is your thing, stay at Signiel (on top of the best luxury mall), or Josun Palace or Park Hyatt, those are all on the other side of the river. If the palaces are your thing, stay at the FS. The hotel is modern and stylish, it is not ultra-modern like Josun Palace or Signiel, but definitely not in a bad shape at all. It kinda gives a higher end American Four Seasons / Ritc Carlton vibe. The breakfast buffet in enormous, it has everything. Maybe 65% of it is Asian food, but it has everything westerns would want too, perhaps smoothies and berries were the only missing items. During the holiday season it was very crowded, and people had to wait in line for tables, but during work days it is more quiet. The staff there was very hard working and always had a smile on their face. The room was large (palace view suite). It included club lounge access, which is worth it. They have dining available from 3-8 pm, and definitely enough to skip restaurants in the afternoon / evenings if wanted. The staff there was the only ones, who were able to provide personalized service. I am very grateful for them, they did always a great job! It was a pleasure spending time and dinign there twice a day. For breakfast I would recommend the main restaurant, it is quite restricted here. The bed was excellent as always at FS. The free garmet pressing delivered 8 pieces of clothing in 6 hours, thats remarkable (during my sleep). They also provide stylish and quiet air purifiers in the room, which was great. I must also mention the excellent and rapid assistance they offer via the chat in their app, they managed all the questions and restaurant booking quickly and perfectly. 10/10 for that! The spa was quite disappointing. A nice relaxing, quiet and intimate spa area is always important for us in city-hotels. However, their spa felt more like a public swimming hall, or a 4-star hotel pool. It lacked any type of design, making it look cheap and commercial. It was as bright as it is outside, and the loungers were quite basic. The pool was also very crowded during holiday season. During work days in was less crowded. The large warm jacuzzi was nice, and if you close your eyes, you can enjoy it for sure, but do not expect a luxury spa experience. We booked a suite to have the Korean spa included to our rate, as I was told by the staff, only guests staying in suites could access it (later on site the staff told anyone can access it for 70 000 krw, which is a lot less than the standard difference in the rate for a suite at + 600 000 krw per night extra). The Korean sauna / spa was more quiet, but the weird thing was that they require you to be naked everywhere, in the pools and jacuzzis too, not just the sauna. That was quite surprising. We ended up only using the Korean sauna / spa once… The gym was literally the best hotel gym I have ever been to. It had everything, looked modern and stylish and all the equipment were new and high quality. It was better than most commercial gyms. They also have some restaurants on site, of which the Market Kitchen was excellent. They have a massive korean / international buffet every night. I would recommend trying it out. All in all, I can recommend the hotel, but I would personally stay at Signiel next time for the smaller size and better location for shopping and dining. However, that might not be the better option for everyone…

We always felt our needs were met in a timely manner. We are a family of three and the King family room is comfortable with plenty of space. We enjoy the hotel buffet breakfast and the wait staff is lovely! Eunsol, especially, makes our visits so special. She remembered us from our previous stay and greeted us with a smile every morning! She’s our favorite Seoul 4S staff member! We visited the Korean spa this visit and quite honestly, feel like new humans. This isn’t advertised much but WOW it’s an absolute MUST! The facilities were fantastic and I didn’t feel I was not valued by staff in favor of members like other reviewers. The location can’t be beat for getting around Seoul. We’ll be back!!

First the Conceirge doesn’t respond. 4 emails and 30 hours later and I’m left without reservations. The hotel has no presence about it. The lobby is equivalent of a nice marriot. The staff is kind but no upgrades even when your promised one. The rooms were outdated with had chipped furniture. The location is not ideal and I’d rather stay in Gangnam. The Korean spa was beautiful and thus the three stars but overall not a four seasons level hotel!

• R1290RMangelaw (4/5): First Impressions Run Deep - I was actually quite excited to stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. From pictures, and insight from stays that others have had, it seemed like it was going to be a no brainer, relaxing, and luxurious stay. Having stayed at the Otemachi Four Seasons in Tokyo just the night before, I had extremely high expectations they would at the very least, match their level of hospitality. What I experienced was instead great regret in my choice, especially as a first stay. The room I was in was very outdated in design, to the point it looked similar to the Lotte Hotel Executive Tower rooms, but those are far better in design and definitely not as outdated. I was told I was upgraded at check-in but honestly it looked like the deluxe king I was originally booked for, which was the first disappointment walking into my room. Check-in experience was otherwise lackluster and robotic, compared to the personable and hospitable experience at Otemachi, and while I was shown to my room in Otemachi, I was pointed to the elevators at the FS Seoul. Not a make or break..but definitely telling in levels of hospitality experience. Back to the room--other than being led to feel like I got an upgrade but didn't actually. They also forgot the welcome amenity, and said they didn't come in due to the DND sign, but when I asked about it again after requesting it be left in the rom while I was gone, they then went off ringing my room, while I had my DND on, and after I told them I was already in bed and would prefer they come back in the morning. They literally messaged and was like but we are already outside, if you just open the door we can give it to you--I'm literally in sleepwear and told them more than once I was not in a state to open the door just to retrieve this "welcome amenity." I ended up forgoing it as it seemed like such a bother to them to get it when I requested it, vs when it was convenient for them. I found the bed to be much smaller than any king I have ever stayed in--smaller than the King at Otemachi, and other luxury hotels in Seoul--it felt more like a queen sized bed at most. In the bathroom, the sink area had rust around all of the faucet and handles. Not something I would think the hotel would want guests to see during their stay? I have stayed at the Lotte Executive Tower and Park Hyatt Seoul and neither have had these issues either. Other notable differences were impossible spa bookings, and a lackluster concierge, that felt like they did not try at all. Even at the smallest requests, FS Otemachi went beyond what I asked for, even thinking ahead of myself at times, and close to instantaneous as if I had a personal concierge. They followed up without me asking, but the FS Seoul either seems like they take way too long to respond (hours at times even for a simple request or question), or they copy and pasted the same answers from a book, rather than give personalized responses. Again, other hotels made my experience much better proactively, and enjoyably, and this just felt like I had to beg for a luxurious experience. You could also tell there were definitely certain guests that got more attention based solely on their spend or looks, rather than equal respect and hospitality across guests. The best thing about this hotel is probably their gym, which is impeccable with any equipment imaginable, though there seemed to be an excess of personal trainers, so timing is important when going. My worth experience was with the spa. Due to internal miscommunications, they mixed up my requested service, with the only recourse basically being come back in a few hours and we can squeeze you back in. Even after bending for them and having to have changed my entire day to complete my half complete service, the service at the end was regrettable as I left worse than if I never started the service. At that point, it was the last impression I had of the hotel and I assure you that it would be much more worth it to get an experience at other luxury hotels in Seoul, and especially one that is actually worth what you're spending. A first impression that definitely has left me not wanting to ever come back.
• sophy834 (6/5): Disappointing service -Hotel guests come second to fitness members - I recently stayed at the Four Seasons Seoul, and while the hotel itself is beautiful, my experience at the fitness center was the worst I have ever encountered at a fivestar property. During my workout, a trainer actually approached me and told me to clear off the machine I was using because they had a private lesson starting. I was shocked. I have traveled all over the world and stayed at countless luxury hotels, and I have never once been kicked off equipment to accommodate a trainer's private session. The gym felt completely overrun by non-hotel guests and private trainers. It seems the management is prioritizing their local Club memberships and private training revenue over the experience of their staying guests. It is incredibly uncomfortable to feel like a second class citizen in a hotel where you are paying premium rates. If you are a guest who values using the fitness facilities, be aware that you will likely be deprioritized for local members. It truly cheapens the Four Seasons brand. I expected much better

We were deciding between here and the Park Hyatt but decided to avoid Gangnam due to the extensive roadworks going on - we’re so glad we chose the 4S! It is centrally located and so handy for essentially all tourist spots and the station. The room was gorgeous - so comfortable and with lovely little gifts left each night for us which was a really nice surprise. We stayed in a Club room and would highly recommend this. It felt so relaxing having a quiet breakfast and evening food& drinks here. There was a Palace and Seoul Tower view from the club lounge depending on where you sat. Staff were attentive and warm. The only thing we did find a little frustrating was that we couldn’t book a spa treatment due to lack of availability. We’ve never experienced this before in a 5* hotel and we did check fairly well in advance (as we usually would). I suspect lots of people from outside the hotel were booking in, so make sure you book early!

• EstherD (4/5): noise, noise, noise - When you book a four seasons hotel you expect a certain level. Coming from Japan and staying in four seasons Otemachi in Tokyo, Four seasons Kyoto and four seasons Osaka you expect to get around the same experience. The decor of the hotel is outdated which is something that I can live with. On the other hand the service was as expected from a four seasons, both at the reception as at the dining facilities (including breakfast). My only complaint is the noise. we had an executive suite with a view on the palace, very pretty! However the noise of the protests/prayers was terrible. there is some kind of mega street church outside that starts at 6am with very loud music. The other day there was a very loud protest on the same spot and the last night we had a surprise with one guy with a megaphone that started his protest at 4am!!! I understand that Four seasons is not responsible for that and they really apologized but at the end of the day I was the one that had sleepless nights. We left the property 2 days earlier and the management team was very accommodating with our request to make our stay shorter because of the noise.

• HotelBertie (10/5): A very solid 5 stars - This was my first stay at the Four Seasons in Seoul. The staff provided a consistently high level of service and I had a superb room on the 26th floor. Breakfast was a highlight, with a wonderful selection of choice. The one real negative/area for improvement was that I was not shown to my room at check-in but instead was just taken to the lifts and given directions. This surprised me as at other city hotels of a similar price I have always been shown to my room. This is an obvious area where the hotel could improve. However, overall I had a great stay and would definitely come back.
