- Roland (5/5): - Property was exceptional. Loved the location. The dining room divider was open, the mater di was at his station and I walked in and asked to be seated. Mater di says, "We're not open yet?? Now to be sure I was wearing jeans and a tee shirt, I was traveling on my motorcycle. Now if there is a dress code I could accept that but the reason that was offered seemed a bit unauthentic. Not to worry, I dined next door and had a marvelous meal. Sign me, disappointed!

- UTalumni (10/5): Great stay in LEX! - The good: loved the whole museum and night at the museum bourbon pours. Lobby and art is so nice. The corner room was awesome and very clean. We slept great. Valet was so easy and fast. The bad: coffee in room is terrible. No coffee downstairs for guests (besides sitting down at the restaurant) is almost a deal breaker. Old mini bar was empty and would have been great to repurpose this space and have a fridge for our water and leftovers. No ice buckets or ice on floors. Very small TV compared to size of room. Besides all of this still gave 5 stars.

- 128liannea (10/5): Spacious rooms with a quirky art gallery within building - A lovely hotel in the heart of Downtown Lexington. It has a cute art gallery within the reception that you can go in for free. Rooms were spacious, clean, huge shower and beds! Would return if in town again.

- cmck (10/5): Spotless stay and Stellar Service - Yep…I admit that I am a person that carries Clorox wipes and wipes down every hotel room we stay in before I open our suitcase. SURPRISE! No Clorox wipes needed at the 21C Hotel We walked into our room on the 8th floor and our room was nothing short of impeccable!! Crisp linens, 4 types of pillows to choose from, perfectly arranged amenities and not a speck of dust in sight, making it feel as though the space had been prepared exclusively for us. The housekeeping staff needs a shout out!! Our doggie bed had a pressed white linen sheet covering the foam bed. There was also a new set of dog dishes set next to the bed…what a beautiful touch. I need to mention the fantastic staff.that made it an elevated experience. Micaela N. and Anna M were genuinely warm, attentive and highly professional. (Micaela had anticipated our needs when I called to make our reservation the day before) Sean is a must see bartender at Lockdown! He’s a true mixologist and made perfect recommendations. Isabella W. checked us out this morning and was so helpful and kind. We can’t wait to visit Lexington again and look forward to another memorable experience

- Logan (2/5): Terrible experience for the price. - The heated floors on the bathroom. This is honestly the first review I’ve ever written, and I believe this is worth letting people know. The service was not good. From the 45 minute wait to get into the room after 4:00 pm, the lack of requested items to be in the room, and lack of responsiveness to requests such as pre ordering the valet to be received 20 minutes in advance of leaving, left a lot to be desired. When I called to book the room, I wanted to confirm that the room came with a bathtub, which I was told it did, only to be given a room with a handicap standing shower. The bed and pillows were very hard and stiff. There was no blanks only cover sheets to sleep in. Needless to say, I would not stay at 21c.

- Stacy (10/5): Convenient location, exceptional service, friendly staff, great food. - We were attending a UK men’s basketball game and the location was very close to the arena which made it very convenient when walking to and from. There was no designated parking lot, so either you have to park yourself and walk a ways, or pay for valet parking. The valet parking was great, but there were only two spots out front to park for valet, and they were always taken so we had to circle the block multiple times waiting for a spot to open up. This was not specified when booking, and would have been nice to know before hand so we could plan our arrival differently.

- PeggyO171 (2/5): Has gone downhill dramatically and we won't stay again. - We've stayed at this hotel many times and have previously enjoyed it and the Lockbox restaurant. This stay was different. The hotel has become a little shabbier in general. The sink didn't drain properly, paint on the window frames was peeling, there were problems with the internet, and the elevators took a very, very long time to respond. The food from the restaurant was a disappointment, unlike in the past. Front desk personnel were not rude, but were not friendly or helpful. But what was most disappointing was that the hotel charged us for an extra night. After many email exchanges and telephone calls we were unable to get them to reimburse us. They continued to say they had not charged us while our credit card indicated charges for an extra night. We will not stay in this hotel again, nor in any of their other locations. Very disappointing, since it was once one of our favorite places to stay.

I expected more for the >$500/night price point in Lexington KY. The room itself was a little dirty as well. The check in staff member was unable to provide any recommendations for us dining/drinks within reasonable walking distance. I will not recommend or stay here again.

Coffee pot didn't work, light on the side of the bed missing a bulb, TV had over the air channels, only had one robe for the bathroom and lack of towels. Free water was ok, the mini bar fridge was opened before we got there, had to make sure we weren't charged for it but the items went warm, carpet was heavily stained in areas and the AC kicks off after 10 minutes of laying down because it operates on a motion sensor thats too high above the bed to pickup people laying down. Oh and no parking.

- Lvkgs2 (10/5): A true Jewel in Downtown Lexington - We had the pleasure of re-visiting 21c in Lexington a few weeks ago ~ July 22-25, 2025. Having been there 'pre-COVID', we were not sure if much had changed in the way of design and decor. The accommodations were AMAZING - Room 1402 was well appointed and had incredible city views! Shout outs to the remarkable service people - in particular SQ in the bar (ask him about his sideline art work!), JP in the Lock Box restaurant and Dejah (an aspiring opera performer) - also in the Lock Box. The site restaurant (Lock Box) had exceptional food at reasonable pricing and ample portions. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the major Downtown sites - historic landmarks, great restaurants (Tony's is just down Main) and has also been the starting point of a Lexington Art Walking Tour throughout the area.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Just ok - We have stayed at another 21C Museum Hotel and had a wonderful experience, but this one was just ok. Pros: Good service at check in and the gallery was excellent. Cons: room was freezing, heat kicked on if you tried to turn the air up from 68. When we pulled up so my husband could drop me off, I let the valet attendant know we would be self parking and he just rudely walked off. The bathroom had mildew and frayed towels. Beds and pillows were so uncomfortable. Not their fault, but downtown LEX is crazy loud at night. It didn’t quiet down until 3 am. We won’t make that mistake again.

- Anonymous (6/5): Enjoyed meeting our friends and hanging out in Lexington! - The food was delicious at dinner, our friends made a reservation at Lockbox, service was slow especially since there were only two other groups eating, (a couple and a family of 4). Liked the museum component. Hotel was in a central location. No refrigerator nor ice for the room. Check in/ out lobby area felt more a part of the museum than the hotel. No real clear entrance.

- Ann (2/5): Not worth the price. - No blanket to use since I was pretty cold, pillows were too soft no firmness at all. Didn’t offer breakfast & had to use valet which was an extra cost that I didn’t plan for. I shouldn’t be charged for what’s in the minibar if you’re going to offer that for your paying guests. The price was too high for not getting some of the things that other less expensive hotels offer. Staff wasn’t very helpful for not providing enough information in person & definitely not having enough info on the website when I booked the room. Overall I would rate this hotel 1/5. Not happy at all. Will not stay here again.

- Anthony (5/5): Not worth the money - Good atmosphere the art was interesting A/C was weak making the whole room sticky, the tv’s chrome cast function was broken and I asked staff to have it fixed. The guy came and “fixed” it by just turning it on regular cable and unplugging the smart tv box
- Thomas (10/5): Blue penguin paradise - These folks went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. When they found out it was my birthday, they even sent up champagne! The bathroom was so big you could dance in it. Love the blue penguins stationed like hall monitors!

- Will (10/5): - Helpful concierge—helped me find a great restaurant nearby that also fit into my schedule. The hotel has tons of art in it, fun place to to stay. The bathroom had a large shower with decent soaps (malin + goetz). Valet parking and check in and a late checkout were a breeze. Location is right in the best part of Lexington too.

- U1373ZQPD (10/5): Nice boutique feeling with local flair and an art angle that has kept the interesting angle despite now being in a chain - We have been here a number of times. The service is attentive and friendly. The rooms are nicely done with a bit of flair given the art concept. The in room coffee is espresso based which is a nice touch. If you have an option get a high floor king for the view and less noise. The restaurant has a limited menu but reasonably creative in a good way in comparison to other also good restaurants in town. We always enjoy seeing the rotating exhibits of art each time we come. The price can vary rather dramatically based on events so do check options and dates before choosing.

- 787callys (4/5): Not the boutique hotel experience we thought we were getting - The room was clean, however out experience wasn’t the same quality we have enjoyed in the past. The staff wasn’t as helpful when we had issues and things just weren’t up to snuff. The inroom coffee maker never did work right and when we asked about it, the staff didn’t take us seriously. We were rushed out before checkout time, with the maid trying to come in several hours before we had even gotten up. Our tv never did work right either and a staff member was sent up who told us that he couldn’t help the situation. We ate at lockbox and it was ok. The food was good, but the service and experience were lack luster. As far as a boutique hotel experience, they missed the mark for us.
- Excursion37982671505 (8/5): Disappointed seasoned 21c fans… - As seasoned 21c loyalists, we have come to expect a particular level of service and experience from the brand. This was our 16th visit to a 21c property and 4th time visiting our hometown location in Lexington, KY. The overall experience was a mixture of what we have come to love about the brand and some disappointments. Disappointments started hours before we arrived at the hotel. Given it was Tuesday, we hoped for the possibility for an early check-in. When we called, Delaney (sp?) told us it was first come first served for early check-in. When we arrived at 12:30 PM, we informed that no rooms were available, but she took our number and said we would be contacted as soon as a room became available. When we checked back in at 2:00 PM, we were told there were still no rooms available. When we returned to the desk at 3:15 PM, there were additional employees who checked and told us our room was available. We mentioned that we were expecting a call, we were told "we have been very busy checking in a lot of other guests and at least we got you in now." While we understand an early check-in is not guaranteed, we expected more communication and information than we were given. Once in the room, we were met with additional disappointments. All the toiletry containers were near empty and ran out before we left the next day. When we went to make coffee, one of the water bottles had a missing seal and was half empty. The water reservoir in the coffee maker contained water of a questionable age and origin. The highlight of the visit was our Lockbox bartender Shaun (sp?) who turned a lackluster check-in experience into a wonderful mid-day libation and meal. He greeted us enthusiastically, recommending a craft cocktail from the menu and letting us know what food options were available from the kitchen. He engaged us in conversation and was very in-tune with our energy, providing a much-needed turnaround in our initial experience.

- Russell (5/5): Passable - Location and overall hotel. Bed was broke/caved at the bottom. Towels were dry rotted and ripped apart when wrapped around you. New towels were provided but rooms are starting to show age and wear and tear. Expensive for what it is now.

- Mark (10/5): Best hotel in the area - We love this hotel. We've stayed at three 21c Museum Hotel's so far - Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati - and this one is by far our favorite. Lovely rooms, nice view, and an easy walk to the best restaurants and bars in the city.
