Guest Reviews
- Karisma (10/5): Exceptional - Location is fantastic and the host is excellent. He made sure that we were comfortable and even remembered us from the year before. He even showed us his new puppy and it felt like home. A lovely place to relax, just outside of Underberg and the perfect stay before going up Sani Pass. They didn't provide any towels.
- Nic (8/5): Quiet and Peaceful - Amazing views, very friendly and welcoming owners, loved the openness and the quietness. More than enough warm blankets for the cold night and ample parking. The road to the cottage is not great at all. Car took quite a beating and a bit of a long drive. Best to book if you have a higher car. Not in the owner's control though so nothing on them. No pots or pans to cook dinner or breakfast, although there was a gas stove.
- Ian (9/5): -
- Robert (8/5): - Beautiful cottage
- alan (4/5): We were not comfortable and I would not recommend this anyone. - The location was very good. We booked for a self catering unit. The unit we stayed in you could not self cater.
There was only a microwave and kettle, no stove.
No pots and pans, no braai utensils. The weber was falling to pieces.
No wine glasses, only tumblers.
No sink to wash utensils.
- Malcolm (10/5): -
- Engelina (9/5): -
- Antonio Di Paolo (10/5): - Beds are very comfortable All was good
- Sphamandla (6/5): -
- Lera (8/5): Lovely host but impression of our room was not good - Graig was an exellent and caring host. The bed was comfy and warm. Lovely quiet plot. ! The place was quite far (4 km) from where we be;ieved the cottage would be, - Apparantly This street has two no 10's. We wanted to be near my children in the same street.
2 We booked an one bedroom chalet with private kichen as advertised on Booking.com website. - The communal kitchen was outside.
At R1200 per night one would expect a more elegent setup. the bathroom was not up to scratch either.
3 The photos featured on the website does not represent the reality.
- Kyle (8/5): Very good - According to the map. The venue isn’t too far from town centre. However it is on a long dirt road around.
- Karisma (8/5): Excellent location and host - Location was excellent and host was very friendly. The accommodated us on short notice. The room was comfortable with electric blankets for the cold nights. I would recommend adding towels for the guests as well as a hair dryer in the room.
- Grant (8/5): Very good -
- Julien (10/5): Just great! - The host Craig was very warm welcoming and the place is super nice to enjoy the southern Drakensberg.
Very good and quiet location for doing a Sani Pass Tour (we did a guided tour with Roof of Africa Tours - recommended!).
Highlight were definitely the two lovely dogs Marley and Bella 😊
- Strydom (7/5): Good -
- Christiaan (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful place, friendly hosts who ensured everything was 100% -
- Angus (10/5): Exceptional - Craig was an exceptional host! He went above and beyond what was expected! A great rustic spot that is close enough to the to the town to get supplies but far enough so that you feel away from a city life.
100% recommend!
- Olliver (10/5): Refreshing and ready for week ahead - The welcoming and comfortable space. Welcoming for all...kids loved it Nothing
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (7/5): A very nice place but missing a few key basics you would expect, especially for the price - Lovely setting and views , clean and spacious rooms Communication was complicated with 2 different parties , the shower was dangerously hot and then went cold after 30 seconds, no facility to do washing , wifi didn't work at all, basic cutlery for the kitchen was missing, no outside light working so walking to your room in the dark.
- Lightbody (3/5): Extremely disappointed - Although the owner went out of his way to support us by finding walks etc, we were completely disappointed that the advertised property was nothing like what was advertised There was zero view as promised - was supposed to be mountain, garden and river views - there were none - merely a yard. The bed was not king size, the kitchen a shared facility and the room was very average with a small, old, bathroom. Do not appreciate that what is advertised with views etc is not at all what we experienced. Also a 4 .5 km rough dirt road - it would have been good if this was made transparent beforehand.
- Kondamudi (9/5): Superb - Location
- Makin (9/5): Superb - Very clean and comfortable. Friendly considerate owner. Beautiful gardens and river walk. Nice friendly pets Just a bit too light at night but might be fine for people who are used to street lights
- Hennie (9/5): exelent. - Petfriendly, clean, and lots of birds.
- Menzi (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yatisha (9/5): Superb -
- Nicky (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful setting with views over the Umzimkhulu River.
Rooms are clean, comfortable and cozy.
- Mercia (10/5): Stay at Buffelsdrif - Graig was so friendly, went out of his way to tell us about best ways to follow. We was envited to watch the rugbywith him. What a host. Everything was excellent
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simpson (5/5): Ok. The room was spacious and clean. The host was very friendly. - The room we were in had no gas stove/plate to be able to cook or have coffee when loadshedding. Lights not sufficient for loadshedding. The lights died after half and hour into loadshedding. Fortunately we took our own battery operated light with us.
- Angelique (1/5): Bad - I did not stay there I did not stay there, I could not find the place and the debra lady did not answer her phone. Eventually i got hold of her, she said she emailed me the owners contact, nobody reads emails while they are driving. She put the phone down in my ear. So I was charged for accomodation i did not use. Maybe in future send a location via whatsapp.
- Addie (8/5): Swanepoel Family - Nothing not to like. I would just like to request that management put out more signboards along the road showing the way to the property. We enjoyed the farm stay out of town. Beautiful area!!
- Barry (7/5): Good - Quiet and peaceful. Poor lighting during load shedding.
- Adri (9/5): We had a Great overnight stay -
- Nico (9/5): Superb -
