• Z9232QDkr (10/5): Fantastic - Worth every penny! There is a reason the Diamond has remained Chico's premier hotel destination, I don't imagine that will change any time soon. Top tier service from booking to check in and check out, and every place in between. Location is obviously unbeatable. Rooms are quiet, spacious, and impeccably clean to the point you can feel it when you walk in. Love the historic photos on the walls and the overall level of class and feeling of tranquility, even with lots of other guests and events going on. The Diamond is my first reccomendation for my friends and family, and I will be back for sure.

• N6097SLkc (8/5): Downtown Gem - The location is perfect. You will be right in the heart of downtown just a skip and hop to the wonderful Stoble coffee shop and a couple of blocks from campus. Parking was effortless and if you have an electric car you will find charging stations right across the street. We enjoyed Happy Hour in the bar downstairs too with a lovely assortment of basic craft cocktails. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We used the included food vouchers for food at happy hour as well as for a fabulous made-to-order omelet at breakfast. Parking in the parking garage next door was very convenient. We enjoyed the Thursday night market right outside the door. Only downside was that our room faced the parking garage, but it didn’t cause any problems, just a less than expansive view. An added plus was windows that opened so we could get fresh air in the spring weather. It was our second stay here.

The staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable, it’s downtown within walking distance to restaurants and stores. You get a free breakfast which is really good. Love this hotel!

Not prefect but I would happily stay there again. - Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff and the breakfast voucher for an actual meal and not just a continental breakfast was a fantastic change of pace. Over all would deffinatly stay there again. There where few things I didnt like the main one was the bed, while nice was incredibly hard. This is sort of a matter of preference but I had trouble sleeping and not minor back pain in the morning because of it. The only other issue was parking. It was my first time staying at the hotel Diamond and took 3 or 4 laps around down town before I figured out that the parking garage was the only place to park for the hotel. Could use some signage.

• shawnaj2026 (6/5): Quite the experience. - The Hotel Diamond has always been somewhere I have wanted to stay, as a local to the Chico area. Well we finally made the reservation, for December 31st 2025. Check in was smooth, the front desk staff was wonderful, sweet and welcoming. She explained the security of the front door after 6pm and using the key card to get into the hotel. That made me feel better since there is a homeless problem in the area. The parking was convenient and close. Our room was a Suite, expensive but beautiful, clean and very special with all the Antique furniture. The room was huge! Facing, Broadway and all the excitement of Downtown Chico on New Year's Eve. We knew that it was going to be a busy night, we people watched and rang in the New Year in the beauty and safety of our room... The bed was like sleeping on the floor, so stiff. I woke up with hip and shoulder pain. The bathroom was big, pretty tile, and a toilet that once I flushed it, it ran all night. The complentry coffee in the room was terrible. The coffee at the attached restaurant, The Grill, was much better. It was a very unfortunate night, as we checked out only after being there for 11 hours. After the murder that took place at 2am on January 1st, just below our window. We wanted to leave.

It took hours for it to increase a degree or two and it never reached the temperature I desired.. I called the desk and a gentleman came up and checked it and said it was working fine. I was never warm enough. I was thankful for the warm bedding.. I went to the desk twice and no one was there. I had to wait 5 or 10 minutes for someone to return. It seemed strange that there was no bell to ring and no sign saying that the attendant would be back.
• christylY7241JA (10/5): Fantastic 1900 hotel in the heart of beautiful Chico - We stayed three nights at Hotel Diamond for a family wedding in Chico. From the moment we arrived we were treated to incredible service at the front desk by a Chico student named Erik. He helped us get everything out of our car and onto a luggage cart. The hotel was first opened in 1901 and the owners have done an excellent job of maintaining the early 1900s feel of this building. Having the hotel fully decorated for Christmas was such a treat with several Christmas trees and wreaths and ribbons tastefully throughout. The Grill restaurant and bar on the main floor was so beautiful with high ceilings and windows. They were staffed with Chico students and alumni. They loved talking with patrons about where they were from and what their majors were which made for such a personal experience. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Chico which provided us with plenty of walking and sights to see. We watched ice skaters on the rink just a block from our hotel and then ate authentic Mexican burritos across the street. We experienced Celestino's delicious one-slice pizza, reliving our days as college students. The free parking in the garage next door was safe and easily accessible. We are so thankful for the perfect weekend we had at this hotel!
• RichardR368 (10/5): A Great Hotel but I Will Not Stay There Again - Just a wonderful hotel. The decor is exceptional. My room was well maintained. Extremely comfortable beds. Just pleasant to be in such a grand old stately building. Very convenient and easy parking next door in a parking deck. I was concerned that this would be a hassell but it is perfect. Everything about the restaurant was outstanding! The menu is not extensive but everything I had was just spectacular. I ate dinner there twice and breakfast three time. Service was prefect. Beware, there is an acute homeless problem in Chico. Every night there was yelling and hollering outside my window. On my last night this lasted in the early hours of the morning. That is why I will not be staying there again.

• K848MOscottm (8/5): Great place with some qualifications - We’ve gone to the Diamond well over a dozen times and love it. Yet the rooms in the old section are behind on some maintenance like windows that won’t stay open. Also, rooms on the garage side suffer from serious excessive noise from partying and loud car-revving in the garage often in the middle of the night like 3:00 am. This seems to be s bigger problem over the years when in the past it was just probably drunk students around midnight. I think the hotel needs to coordinate with the police on this persistent problem rather than expect guests to complain to them or the police.

• Svetlana (10/5): - It is a Gorgeous Victorian Building restored to its roots. The room was quiet, the beds cozy and we slept with good AC all night long. Amenities included great. The breakfast included was delicious, a freshly made omelet with fresh ingredients. Everything was perfect
• derrickmO2523LE (10/5): Awesome Chico Hotel - My first time staying at the Hotel Diamond and I was extremely impressed. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable and bar/restaurant nice and convenient. You can’t beat the location as well. More expensive than the other hotels in the area but worth the difference. I’ll definitely stay at the Diamond again.
• M926JAjennym (4/5): Fake Charges & Checked Someone Else into Our Suite - Let someone else into the suite we booked before we arrived. Charged our room for extras we never consumed! When we arrived, they accidentally checked another guest into our Suite. They went upstairs to see who was in our suite, but no one answered. We asked to be moved to a different, comparable suite. They moved us to a suite overlooking the plaza. For anyone familiar with the City Plaza Park in Chico, you know it’s noisy due to transients unfortunately. But…No big deal - we were celebrating our anniversary and decided to make the best of it! But then…. After double checking my credit card day later, they charged us $54 for “in room wine”, which we NEVER even saw in the room! Let alone drank! Waiting to see if they reverse the charges. Last time I’ll ever stay there. It was pretty sad actually. We do a lot of travel and never had anything like this happen.
• 843heatheri (10/5): Great Location- Charming Atmosphere- Delicious Delights - The Hotel Diamond never disappoints! The decor is charming, the beds are amazingly comfortable, the staff is wonderful, and the location can not be beat. Highlights of this visit were Shelly the Bartender... made a delicious and also beautiful espresso martini (pic attached), and the complimentary breakfast buffet... Chef made an everything scramble with potatoes that were just perfection.

• donnawP7881FP (8/5): great with a few exceptions. - Beautiful hotel. We were in a handicapped room. I would recommend a couter top vanity mirror. The wall mount is useless for someone in a wheelchair. Also the large size chair next to the entrance to the bathroom was in the way for making it through to the bathroom. The complimentary breakfast was great. More fruit would have been nice and maybe some muffins. Thank you.

• StanleeG (10/5): A Night to Remember - I love this hotel. The location is perfect. The historical decor is gorgeous, the staff is pleasant, hopeful and accommodating. It is quiet and extremely clean and well maintained. They offer free, convenient parking and restaurant and bar attached to the hotel. Highly recommend.

• TomSutliff (10/5): Room 409 is a king premium room - Room 409 is a king premium room in a quiet part of hotel on the top (4th) floor looking out over the top of parking structure. Has a handheld shower head mounted directly overhead.
• Armando (10/5): - Diamond Hotel is a great property. There are not many worthwhile hotels in Chico. This was probably the nicest. Good centralized location. Great steakhouse about a block away. Several boutique-type shopping stores are just around the corner. Multiple bars and restaurants are within walking distance. The hotel is quiet and clean, offering massages and a steakhouse on the premises, although we did not use either one. We will stay here next time we come through Chico.

The hotel’s old-world charm and thoughtful details made our visit feel special from the moment we arrived. Our room was cute, comfortable, and well-kept, and every interaction with the staff was warm and welcoming. The location couldn’t have been better and was perfect for our Chico State orientation trip. We were able to walk to everything! We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Chico.
