Guest Reviews
- Bonnie (10/5): - This is a really wonderful place to stay! It’s right on the sea of Cortez with dreamy, sunrises and sunsets, the staff is lovely and helpful. The food is excellent, and the Palapas are charming with your own little deck and hammock, and they are quite large inside. Also the resort offers excellent excursions like boat and snorkel trips, paddleboards, and kayaks and more. I will definitely return.
- W (9/5): We will visit again - Great daily breakfast. Fantastic location
- Laurelyn (9/5): beautiful and fun - beautiful buildings, great staff including very professional boats and dive setup. best food. The orroyo setting may have blocked the wind a bit. This establishment was not focused on kite surfing so much as other aquatic activities, which I appreciated during my visit. That whole stretch of beach between the two towns is steep and pebbly, rough on the feet.
- Laura-Jean (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay here. Perfect location, clean, friendly staff, and great food! With paddle boards and snorkel gear included, we could be out on the water as much as I wanted. It was a truly magical experience for some rest, and relaxation. Only challenge was when connecting to a 90 min zoom call, the WiFi didn’t sustain. I was kicked offline multiple times through the call. However, for other online work, it was sufficient enough. Would go back for sure!
- Skylar (10/5): Relaxing with plenty of opportunities to do fun things... if you want to "do" anything! - The staff is what made this experience truly special. The facilities and location are excellent, but the staff was so kind, and so willing to be helpful. Each day the lead staff member on duty introduced themselves to us at breakfast and offered whatever support we needed. We didn't feel pushed to arrange anything, and we chose to have a very relaxing two days where we stuck around the grounds and to the beach. Nothing!
- Elizabeth (8/5): - This property has easy beach access, a great restaurant and helpful staff.
- Cameron (8/5): Very good -
- Jake (10/5): Awesome - Spearfishing was a blast. Beautiful landscape and amenities. Did not have private bathroom, although had the option to upgrade.
- Kyle (4/5): - Not worth the price. Shared bathrooms and showers, no towels, no shampoo, and despite requests, our view was blocked by a boat with a blinking light that was left on through the night. Restaurant on the property also had terrible service. We usually are not picky about our accommodations but we would not recommend this spot.
- Bruce (9/5): Superb - Well run. Spotless, air conditioned units. Good restaurant onsite. Great staff. Lots of activities.
- Benjamin (7/5): Good -
- Eric (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (10/5): Great for a few nights - Great place for the weekend, clean rooms and facilities, friendly staff, beautiful view from pool and restaurant. Restaurant is nice too. Price/quality ratio is absurd considering you have a shared bathroom, showers, and spotty internet
- Patrick (10/5): - Great stay.
Amazing food here at the restaurant! Best in La Ventana?
Casita was delightful and air conditioning worked perfectly.
Snorkel gear, sea kayak were great.
Only one working bike out of 5 so didn't get to use all the included amenities.
- ricardo diaz santana (10/5): - Muy Bonito lugar.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Donna (7/5): Good -
- Dee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Travis (6/5): - Not a great value. Property looks tired.
- Molly (10/5): - My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay at Palapas!
The staff was attentive, welcome, friendly, and made everything so smooth for our needs. We arrived past the check in time and it was no problem. Breakfast was delicious and special requests such as a a vegetarian option were readily available. bottomless coffee.
We enjoyed fresh snapper for dinner that was caught right off shore in the evening. The Palapa that we stayed in was clean and had everything we needed- a little sink, fresh water, a comfy bed, screened porch and windows.
the overall space is really special and the perfect zone to relax in.
I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and cannot wait to go back again. What a special find!
- Vanessa (8/5): - Quiet, thoughtfully designed and constructed property that straddles an arroyo, with palapa/cottages on either side. Cheery. Our shower was a rain head type, but really just squirted out of part of the head, so not exactly a spa experience. Good included breakfast in the AM. The free kayaks and loads of classes or excursions seem fun.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I really enjoyed my brief stay at Palapas Ventana. My only regret is I didn't find it earlier in my trip so that I could have stayed longer. The people were friendly and full of information. The location was superb, in fact good luck finding a better location (activities, beach, natural beauty.
I highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The resort has a very friendly family style feel. Food was excellent. You can have a very peaceful stay and choose from activities like snorkeling, scuba, paddle boarding etc, They provide all gear. The individual “casita” I stayed in was comfortable and clean. The owners have created a resort that integrates with the local town. My favorite moments were watching the sunrise from the comfortable covered terrace whilst sipping my coffee (available to guests every morning from 7 am).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean... somewhat primitive as the showers and bathrooms were across the road.
Best food and smiles At the restaurant. Yummy
I must admit that for 130 per night through Expedia seemed way high.
Next time I’ll bypass Expedia and get a better Rate People are the finest and so is the food.
Isrrael makes sure his game is on. Good people 👍
- Adam (10/5): Nice casitas on a wonderful property! - Loved our stay! Palapas Ventana is a well-located and charming property with friendly hosts. Highly recommended
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nicest folks in town always go there Isrial is the man ,
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The casitas are charming and very comfortable. The view of Isla Cerralvo and the Gulf is great, and it is a very relaxed environment with a service-oriented staff.
- Tracey (10/5): Something for everyone! - We stayed at Palapas Ventana in April, and the weather was perfect.
We swam with whale sharks, kayaked, dove, biked, fished, and snorkeled.
Love the fact that Palpas has all the toys-no need for a rental car.
Great airport shuttle, jacuzzi, pool, breakfast, comfy and clean rooms
We don't kiteboard, but there was a bit of wind mid-afternoon for the sport.
Palapas is well-run. Great 6 day vacation.
- Mayra G (8/5): Palapas Ventana, Baja - If you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you’ll like this place. It’s about an hour away from La Paz but very easy to get there if you decide to rent a car. The town seems lonely and not many places to eat out but the hotel has a restaurant with good food and good prices. The huts have everything you need to have a pleasant stay. You will have views to amazing sunrise and sunsets. At night you can also go in the jacuzzi and stargaze. Also, if you plan on doing any type of ocean adventure such as whale watching ( during season), whale shark encounters, fishing trips...etc. you can book your tours onsite. Ask any staff member for Tim Halter.
- Louis (8/5): Paradise with a catch - A great, laid back, funky place to stay by the beach.
The only negative part of our stay was the manager adding on additional charges to the Hotel.com price we agreed to online.
- Julie (4/5): Casita at Palapas Ventana lacks basic comforts - The casitas are a round building with a comfortable king sized bed, a bathroom and shower are shared. The shared area was clean and well stocked but none of the showers drained so you end up standing in backed up water; kinda gross. In the casita there was an extension cord to power a couple of devices and a couple of lamps clamped on the headboard for reading, but there was no other furnishing in the room. Although there was plenty of room along the rounded walls for some simple tables there wasn't even a simple luggage rack; suitcase was on the floor. There was no bedside table; water bottle, book, cell phone were on the floor. There was no place to put clothing so you have to live out of your suitcase. There was no place to hang anything. There was a set of hooks for your towel and bathing suit to dry. There was one small, very low table on which sat a binder with information and 3 or 4 other laminated signs. There were 2 small, very high shelves that were usable for your bathroom kit. One nice thing was that they provided purified water in a 5 gallon dispenser; the tap water isn't drinkable.
- Chuck (8/5): Lacks some amenities - The location was pleasant enough, but the Palapas I received didn't have any restroom or sink, and not even a Mini Fridge. You have to use a communal restroom/shower, which I didn't know at the time I rented. The facilities were kept clean, however. These are the smaller Palapas, though. The larger units do come with a sink and restroom and are more self contained from what I understand. I bought a Coffee Maker and just left it in the room, hoping that they may get a hint :-).
- marco (10/5): This was an awesome experience - I can't say enough about this hotel, everyone there was amazing the service was out of this world!
The chef Ruben, dang he can cook this guys should be famous he cooks so good!
The view, the location, the people I have to say everting was amazing
