- Karlie (7/5): Fine for 3-4 days, best when the hostel is quiet - The pillow and mattress was comfortable, and the room I was in was spacious - sometimes I was the only person in the 6 bed dorm (even though I booked an 11-bed mixed dorm). The hostel was pretty empty so it didn't feel crowded, (there were probably only 4-6 guests including myself at any given point throughout my 4 day stay) but I think it would be too small if it was at normal/full capacity. I only spoke to 1 other guest, it was that quiet.
There is a separate toilet just for women on the 2F. The hostel has an adequate kitchen, free tea/coffee, social and private spaces.
The hostel is well located, being 5 mins walk from a station and from a huge LIFE supermarket, and also some good cafés. It takes about 20 mins to walk to Harbourland and Chinatown, and 30 mins to Sannomiya and Shin Kobe.
The staff were friendly, and the free luggage storage before check-in and after check-out was super helpful. The hostel door is also locked from 9pm onwards so it felt quite safe. There are only three showers, two of which are very small so there isn't much space to get changed. Since the curtains aren't long enough, belongings need to be placed in the plastic box that is provided.
There is a security box and chain provided for belongings, just large enough to fit a 15 inch laptop. Although free luggage storage was great (there is no elevator!), the cupboard on the ground floor where it's stored is not locked either, nor is there a tagging system and staff aren't around most of the day so it isn't the most secure. Thankfully the hostel was very quiet, so it didn't feel too risky.

エレベーターはありません。
下段ベッドでエアコンの効きが悪そうなところには扇風機が置かれ、割と快適に過ごせます。
チェックイン時間より早く来てもチェックインは出来ませんが、共用スペースで休めます。
- Kai (10/5): We loved it! - Incredibly friendly staff and clean, air conditioned dorms. Lovely vibe and great location. There’s no washing machine but lots of hanging space up on the roof.
- Fabian (9/5): Superb -
- Myoungjun (7/5): Staying 2 nights - As a whole, the facility was Okay for minimalistic travellers. The hostel was old-fashioned with regard to its entire facilities. Some guests seemed to keep loud even after midnight at lobby.
- Brehm (10/5): Exceptional - Really cool vibes. Very Japanese. Met other travelers in first floor common area. I wish men’s toilet was on same floor as my bed but it wasn’t a problem.
- Mekonen (9/5): Superb -
- Persephone (7/5): Good -
- ?? (6/5): - 近くに銭湯や飲食店…そして駅近が良いですね❗
- Ramon (8/5): Very good -
- Ramon (9/5): Superb - Meet a lot of new people, staff and guests! A real hostel atmosphere!
- Luuk (9/5): Superb -
- Blue (9/5): Superb - Interesting building, good facilities & free kitchen space, spices etc.
- Caputo (10/5): Exceptional - It has a rooftop terrace with smoking allowed and the location is good
- Jay (4/5): Barebones budget hostel, a bit far from main Kobe - Friendly volunteer staff, communal kitchen on the ground floor Location less than ideal for main Kobe areas.
Very old property that hasn’t been properly remodeled or maintained. Needs more showers/toilets accommodating for both genders on each floor, for the number of capsule beds.
Luggage storage area is severely lacking, even by capsule standards.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - Very friendly staff and owner. Very clean. A proper hostel with an interesting mix of guests. Wireless did not work properly most of the time.
- Larry (7/5): Great location and good value - Location and price Not much staff around
- Major (7/5): Good -
- Suso (8/5): Very good -
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Williams (7/5): Good -
- Rebecca (8/5): Quirky space with iffy wifi - Cool vibe. WiFi was hit or miss.

- Enri (8/5): Very good -
- Guillaume (10/5): - Superbe hébergement! le staff est très sympa, les chambres correct, l'espace partagé est cool, la terrasse aussi, le logement est bien situé pas loin de la gare, je recommande!

- Meng (10/5): Exceptional -
- Calum (9/5): Superb -
- Ido (5/5): weird vibes nice people - the guests and some of the staff were really nice and friendly i couldn’t get myself comfortable
the place looks a little like a club bathroom
if you can get over that i’m sure you’ll enjoy it
scrammed away after one night didn’t want to stay for the rest of the nights
- Catherine (10/5): Great place! - Great place to stay!
Traditional hostel. Lots of information on things to see and do. Quirky decor.
Traditional building.
Basic kitchen but everything you need. Several different social areas to chill out in. Tea and coffee.
Great location. Lots to do in Kobe! Could be clearer signage to see from the main road .
- Sophia (8/5): Very good -
- Mert (9/5): Superb - It was close by the station, the bed was comfy
- Osmar (9/5): Good choice for the price - The hostal is clean and has everything you need for your stay. It has a nice common area to meet other travelers although during my stay there was not much atmosphere.
The hostal is very close to the jr station, convenience stores, and a restaruant area. There is a weird smell sometimes in the room (nothing too bad) and while its close to a train station it is not located in the main area of Kobe but you can easily talk one train station or walk along the port. In general these are very small details.
- Theerasit (8/5): For this price, It is very valuable, you will get all your basic need for staying at hotel - Price is very Cheap
Stuff is very Good
They have free louge on 1F which can use 24hr (It is quite good if you come back late at night) For men, there are 3 shower room (2 are very small), if you can wait for the big room it will be okay But if you are in hurry or unlucky it will quite harsh to use the small room
- Yoko (4/5): Weird, not so comfortable - Weirdness. Wall art, books, etc, hand madish Cleaness, darkness, bed linens are not crispy fresh
- Alla (10/5): Great atmospheric hostel with a local feel - Absolutely great! The choice of artbooks is fantastic for someone who loves modern art and subculture. The building is old; it is remodeled with great care so as not to erase its history. There’s a lot, A LOT of small local art on walls etc. The staff (owner?) is an angel. Great cost-performance, comfortable bed and clean showers. Nice rooftop space. There’s a place to work on your laptop at night, if needed. And a KOTATSU!!! The complementary green tea is very tasty. This hostel is not for squeamish people who love everything new, polished and shiny. It is perfectly hygienic and toilets/bathrooms are always clean, but it doesn’t feel “sterile”. The bed compartments are of course not soundproof so get your earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. They have only essential amenities but more shouldn’t even be expected at this price!
- Federico (8/5): Very good -
- Muhammad (5/5): Passable -
- Keiji (6/5): - 施設内のイラストがポップで可愛いです
- Leon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Istefan (1/5): Not recommended - it's not worth it The hostel smelled horrible and the mattress was very soft and hurt the back
- Fenja (5/5): A bit strange and smelly but also cozy. - It was nicely decorated and had a cozy feeling. The toilets were clean. It was a bit smelly especially my bed smelled a bit strange.
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet and comfortable. I stayed here a few nights to rest and liked it a lot. Not a social hostel but good for taking a break. All those stairs!!! LOL
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isaac (8/5): Very economical stay. Everything you need for safe place to sleep. - Affordable Space
- Hoang (9/5): Good stay - the room was clean, the facilities maybe a bit old but still functional, the beds are comfortable, it quite near the kobe station, takes like 5-min walk, me and my father had a great stay here for 2 nights
- O-liver (6/5): Really hot ! - It's well located . I barely slept 2-3 hours, it was really hot! They had some fans on but if you have an upper bed you don't have any cool air at all. The A/C wasn't on , maybe it wasn't working ...
- Kylar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raman (8/5): Very good -
- Hon (8/5): Very good -
- Yasna (8/5): Very good - The building was a little dark inside
- Altynai (8/5): Very good -
- Hao (3/5): Arguable value for money, but I would pay more to stay at another hostel. - Convenient location 5 minutes walk from Kobe Station, place was generally clean enough. Wi-Fi worked well throughout the building. Building was dingy, lack of air-conditioning outside of the sleeping area was uncomfortable. Lack of sinks and washing counters made the stay all the more unpleasant e.g. there was sink to wash my hands at after going to the toilet. This hostel was the only place in Japan I encountered without seated bidets. Bathroom was small and without a dry area, which is the norm at practically every other hostel. Bed was creaky and the locker cupboards were not secure.
- Charlie (6/5): Don't know what to say - The bed was very comfortable, the room was cool, the common area was cool, the WiFi was good, and the staff were friendly. Ridiculously hot in two of the shower rooms. The third and bigger shower room was better. No sink on the third floor, which I found weird. There are two toilets and there's nowhere to clean your hands or brush your teeth.
I did see a cockroach in the kitchen, which is never a good sign.
- Angus (5/5): Passable -
- Moshenko (6/5): Pleasant - If you're on a budget, this will get the job done. There's lockers and the curtain on the bed gives good privacy. The beds were uncomfortable (Japanese beds usually err on the side of more stiff, but these were just plain uncomfy), and the showers had a permanent B.O. smell.
- David (8/5): A warm welcome & a friendly relaxed vibe. - The 3 staff on duty when I checked in (all European) were great. Very polite, friendly and welcoming - a great start to my break.
The Wi-Fi worked well throughout the entire building, as did the air conditioning & the numerous electric fans.
It was very useful to be able to leave my case in the storage area, free of charge, after I'd checked out. It gave me the chance to do more sightseeing, before moving on to Osaka. One of the other members of staff spent a lot of time on personal phone calls in a mixture of English & French, rather than paying attention to guests.
- Fima (9/5): Superb -
- Shinya (6/5): Pleasant -
- Muaad (5/5): It was amazing, but I don’t think I will do it again because of the cockroach. - The staff were very friendly. The Wi-Fi was amazing. The bed was comfortable. A random cockroach appearing near my bed at night
- Oo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shivanikapadiaaa (8/5): Very good - The hostel was located a short walk from the station which was very convenient. There are a couple of restaurants nearby and also a few convenience stores which came in handy. The hostel has a very chill vibe, there is a common area downstairs with a small set up where people can eat or sit and chat. There is also an inner room with a traditional Japanese setup where people can rest. The rooms are pretty basic with everything you need to sleep well. Good mattresses, blankets and pillows to add to the comfort. There is also a kitchen. Not too much to add here.
I would have preferred if there was a more suitable stairway to the upper bunks. As a larger bottomed woman i struggled there slightly!
- Ambrish (6/5): Pleasant -
- Martin (7/5): A bit overpriced, good location, not first option, not bad - Kitchen is a plus, location also good, free coffee or tea was nice. It''s ok for a night or 2. The place is acceptable. Even though is not bad, it was overpriced even for Japan compared to other places I stayed. The construction of capsule/lockers were cheap and not so good.
- Lilaine (7/5): Good - It's a 7 minute walk from Kobe St. There's conveniences stores on the way and a big Aeon at the station. Staff are very nice and friendly. If you handwash your clothes, there's a drying area on the rooftop. Not very clean for strict Japanese standards. And the kitchen smells most times. The fridge is not clean either.
- Charlie (8/5): Nice stay with some nice people - Really nice staff and overall vibe. Clean sheets and lots of space to store your luggage. Comfy bed. Nothing to complain about
- Terry (5/5): Passable -
- Unamandla (7/5): Good -
- Daan (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (7/5): Good - Very good value for money, they have tons of booklets of information for Kobe and the surrounding areas (what to eat, where to go), which is essential and so many hostels completely neglect to do. I really appreciated having a kitchen to cook in and a small tatami room to hang out in. The old building has a grungy feel to it and a melange of different odors. I unfortunately was stuck with a roommate who I could smell coming and going. Though the hostel was fairly social, the common space is a bit narrow and prone to just getting crowded so it encourages people to avoid it. It was a bit annoying to always have to go to another floor in order to use the restroom since the 2nd floor restrooms are women only.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jerman (10/5): Exceptional - location was great, also common area and staff very friendly, thank you for a wonderful stay in Kobe everything ok
- Guillaume (10/5): Great hostel to stay for couple of nights - The ladies working there are most helpful.
- Lilian (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (8/5): Very good -
- Jeffrey (9/5): Superb - Clean and great location Nothing
- Karen (8/5): Asked for payment when arrived, lucky I check email because I had paid online. - Tea coffee Grungy
- Lilian (9/5): Superb -
- Osman (10/5): Exceptional - Its very intercultural hostel. Thank you
- Nicholas (6/5): Great location with helpful staff, although the road smelt - It is a great location near the train station and key sites, with helpful staff and were able to leave luggage before and after check in The room had a smell, and it seems a bit overpriced for what you get
- Giuseppe (4/5): Pitiful - Kindness of volunteers staff this place is one of the most uncomfortable I have ever been in. I believe it is a ex-izakaya reused as a hostel, which is spread over the floors above. Narrow and dark spaces, non-existent kitchens, tiny and uncomfortable bathrooms and showers, dormitories all crowded together separated by sheets, where everyone can hear everyone else's breathing (and not only that). the owner isn't there, the staff is volunteers (nice) but very young and improvised. Better look for something else.
- Klara (7/5): Alright hostel with plenty of space to hang out - Nice common areas! Good location close to the big station. Staff wasn’t very friendly. Area around hostel isn’t great.
- Kavya (10/5): Completely in love with the time I had in the beautiful hostel with equally wonderful people! - Very clean, accessible, and really nice staff! Absolutely nothing!
- Leon-maurice (6/5): Rustikal - My "Capsule" was pretty big
Checkout time at 12 was great for me
I was shown around by the staff, really friendly and helpful
Rooftop 👍🏻 My room was right next to the air conditioner, everywhere was normal temperature, but my room was boiling at times. And it rattled really loud sometimes, which made the walls shake.
Room was also right next to the hallway and only separated by paper windows with no curtain, which meant I got flashbanged at night every time someone walked around.
Found used tissue in between the woodpanels of my room.
Everyone on my floor had a big locker for their luggage, I just had a chain. Quite unnerving when you have your livelyhood for weeks in that backpack and it's out in the open.
Cleanness of sanitary depends 80% on the guests, it was fine, but the bin in the washroom was not emptied for my whole stay and on the last day it was overflowing.
- Chowdhury (9/5): Superb -
- Nikola (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly staff, good location, nice authentic old building. The hostel was really cold, I had to sleep with 3 blankets one night, no hot water in the sinks either
- Ralf (8/5): Very good -
- Xavier (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Neshat (3/5): Poor -
