- McBride (7/5): - This property is a unique stay. The room is at the center of an artist colony. The staff and residents were very friendly and helpful. If you are a person that is traveling in a hurry the informal set up may be an inconvenience. The property still has actual keys and on- site property managers.

Well I do believe it advertised breakfast while the were breakfast items available we were under the impression that it would be a hot breakfast but it wasn’t. The common kitchen was hard to get to unlock, and the lock to our room was also difficult at times. The shower was not very big and the shower door would stick. The top sheet on the bed was torn.

- AndreasNemec (6/5): 70er Flashback mit unzumutbaren Frühstück - Interessante „künstlerische“ Gestaltung Das Frühstück besteht aus einem Inder Gefriertruhe selbst zu entnehmenden und zuzubereitenden Gebäck , kein Service. Auch wenn das Zimmer ok war, die Anlage ist ein Flashback in die 70er Jahre des vorigen Jahrhunderts und nicht gepflegt.

It’s so easy to get free and clear detergent, I don’t get why all hotels don’t use it on the chance customers are allergic to perfumes like I am

- Deborah (10/5): We went to attend an event at the art museum and enjoyed the quirky surroundings of this inn. - When you are staying there you are surrounded by art studios and art installations on the property. We loved getting out in the morning and wandering around looking at all the art. The staff was very friendly and Sabrina went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We loved that the Santa Fe room had a back door and a back porch with chairs. The room was small and only had one chair. We called for a reservation at the on-site restaurant and left a message. Later they called back and told us that they didn’t have enough reservations to open. So, don’t assume they are open when they say they are.

- Kelley (8/5): - Super cute room!! Very clean and tidy with all the amenities we could need or want. The only negative is that the king size bed was very very firm and could use a topper. Also, the neighborhood around the inn is a little sketchy. The grounds of the inn itself are fun and eclectic. We did enjoy our stay!

- Ashley (10/5): - This is definitely a unique place to stay. The host that showed me the property was very nice and the property was so neat. There are artists that have rooms around the property. The room itself is a converted chicken coop. It had all the necessities you could need. Mini split and ceiling fan kept the room cool and there is also a microwave and mini fridge. They have a common area with water, mini milks, apple and orange juice. Frozen breakfast sandwiches and individual cereal bowls for breakfast.

- Jennifer (8/5): Cute, rustic room - just a bit loud - We stayed for one night at the Inn while visiting family. The Inn was conveniently located, but the neighborhood around it seemed a little bit sketchy. I highly recommend checking in during daylight hours so you have a clear idea of where you will be parking and how to get to your room from the parking area. Sabrina gave me a quick tour when I came to pick up the keys, which was very helpful. The room was clean and cute in a nice log cabin rustic way. It is quite large, and the bathroom is not adjoining the bedroom so you won’t be disturbed if your partner gets up to use the bathroom during the night. We loved the art work and the inlays in the walls. The mini splits worked well keeping the area cool. It did take some searching to find the remote - I expected it to be on the bedside table or maybe the coffee table, but it was on the entry table. When we got back to the room around 9:30, there was a party going on in the courtyard right outside our window, which included a live band. A woman did come up to us as we were unlocking the door to let us know the party would be breaking up soon. They shut down around 10 pm. Around 3am, some people came into the common kitchen area which is right outside the door to this room. They were talking and opening and closing the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes. It was enough to wake both of us up. I would give it another shot if I come back on my own. Be sure to check out the shops - lots of interesting art and craftwork.

Wish we could have taken advantage of all this property had to offer, but we just stayed one night and were not at the room very long at all. It was not close to downtown where we spent most of our time. Even then, it is a small town so not a true inconvenience.

- Katherine (10/5): Just a Girls get away... - Myself my sister and mom went to San Angelo for the weekend and decided to stay here. This was a very awesome place to stay it was very quiet and peaceful. We will definitely come and stay again. Very highly recommended.

- Phillip (9/5): A wonderful non-corporate change of pace - We are artists so we loved being ensconced among other artists. Sadly we had only one night and we had to leave quite early--otherwise we would have lingered. We had to miss the live music and food. However our Innkeeper kindly directed us to an excellent restaurant just a couple of blocks away. We were only disappointed that we could not linger. The bathroom was approachable only by stairs. There was no soap and only two bath towels and no bathmat for the floor.
- Claudia (10/5): Honestly a hidden gem for artists - Me and my husband just got married and wanted to change up our usual hotel stays so we gave this place a shot, the woman named Chasity that helped us was very kind and communicative especially helping us with any questions, accommodations, and directions, I highly recommend coming earlier to get a chance for a tour of the property, there are 2 restaurants on site and we managed to catch the Art Market that was going on (I don't recall if it's a once in a while thing or often) we saw many amazing vendors of artists selling crochet animals/veggies, selfmade comic books, jewelry, aromatherapy and crystal goods, and we even saw a pet shop with lots of reptiles to arachnids. Now the room was so cute like we stepped into a small greek grandmother's home with old floral wallpaper and wall decor, sheets were clean, and we were given access to a shared kitchen space with cereal and snacks, Ac was ice cold, shower hot, and the cutest little coffee area. DEFINITELY will be our favorite spot in San Angelo and we will be coming back soon! I think the rooms could use a bit more of a thorough clean, maybe to be dusted on the decor and we found some shampoo and conditioner bottles hidden on top of the shower from the previous people, but overall nothing too much to ring alarms in our mind.
- Ariston (10/5): - I stayed at the Inn at the Art Center at the Chicken Farm because I was driving from San Francisco, CA to Austin, TX. It was such a treat, it's like staying at an artists' community. The vibe was friendly and creative. Just be mindful that this is not a hotel and is more like a Bed & Breakfast, so adjust your expectations appropriately. They provide you with everything that you need and Sabrina's there to facilitate your stay. There's nice common areas, the restaurant - Silo - is chef driven, and there's boundless art and artists in about 16 or so studios in the grounds. It was definitely a fun and unique stay.

- Douglas (6/5): Not for everyone. - Certainly unique, being part of an art community. I presume if there for an event or classes, these rooms would be convenient. The lack of a solid bathroom door (noted in other reviews) would be awkward if not traveling solo. Somewhat frustrating was the nonfunctional power outlets. Breakfast was bulk bought convenience store-style sausage biscuits & pastries: not very healthy.

- Munoz (1/5): Bad - The facility was great but the staff was horrific They gave us a room it was fantastic we settled in and went to dinner and then the last called and Said we needed to go back because tgey gave us the wrong room it was a friend of the owners it was a really racist place the worker was texting rhe owners that me and my daughter looked like low life people I couldn't believe it she was texting it to me instead if her boss it was the worst experience I have ever had
- Katharina (8/5): Support your local businesses - We booked here because we wanted to support some local business and no big chain. The creative hub around is nice and well taken care of. The room really felt like visiting grandma. The room was clean and bed comfy. The bathroom is divided from the rest with only a light swinging door. Be aware when booking the same room :) The serve yourself breakfast (cereal, juice and frozen biscuit) is a bit disappointing but all right (didn't see that info in the description before booking, so my bet).

- LaWanda (10/5): - I booked this place to have somewhere for my husband and I to stay while we came from Houston to visit my son stationed here. It also happened to be our one month wedding anniversary. This quaint couldnt be anymore perfect. They had vendors on site for mothers day weekend adding to the charm. Its like an unexpected resort! But makes you feel like youre at home or a close family members home. They have a fridge with milk (almond too), bottled water, ice cream even!, brekafast options.. all at no charge. Walking the proeprty is so peaceful and charming. I cannot say enough positive things about my stay here.
- Ann (9/5): Comfortable room in delightful setting - Loved that it was an integral part of the arts center. There was an outdoor concert the evening we were there and a craft fair the next morning. There’s a good restaurant and several artists’ studios sprinkled among the trees. It’s like a little green oasis hidden in the bustling city.
- Nancy (9/5): Connecting with the creative community at Inn at the Art Center was a wonderful stop on our trip! - The Art Center Property was fun and quirky and just as I'd hoped. There was a restaurant on-site that is open occasionally. There was also an excellent BBQ restaurant within a 2-minute walk. We happened to be there while the Art Center was having a "First Saturday" event with artists, artisans, musicians, and more. We were notified well in advance that this would be happening and it was great to have such a creative space to browse just outside our door. The long-term art studios were open as well. The second night we stayed in the Starkeeper Suite and it was huge! It was the home of the former owner and while it was only one bedroom, the living room area could accommodate probably 30 people or more. The bathroom was large as well and the artistic touches were so unique and wonderful. We loved staying there! Free breakfast was provided as a small separate breakfast room with a stocked refrigerator and microwave. There was juice, coffee, water, frozen breakfast sandwiches that could be heated in the microwave. I think there was also yogurt and possibly muffins, but I don't remember for sure. Items weren't freshly made, but everything was sufficient for a continental breakfast. We stayed in 2 different rooms. The first night was the Country French Queen Room. The only odd thing was that it was only a pair of swinging saloon-style half doors between the toilet/shower area and the rest of the bathroom, and no door between the sink area and the main room, so privacy in the bathroom was less than expected. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable.

- Joanna (10/5): Whimsical and Wonderful. - It's such an amazing place. Our suite was the Santa Fe. So comfortable. The shower room was an unexpected feature. A lot of thoughtful touches, like a motion sensing light, so you remember there is a step. Sitting outside watching the faerie lights. I plan on coming back. There are a lot of studios I've yet to see. Charming and whimsical can't wait to go back. Ummm, I'm sure there was something, but I can't think of any. (Remember to take an adapter for phone chargers.)

A charming art village with delightful people, galleries, and shops a great restaurant - Colorful the setting is like a little village, made up of Artist studios and apartments with lots of art everywhere Artist living there and making things and all very colorful and beautiful There wasn’t anything I didn’t like

- William (8/5): Don’t go for one day. This place deserves two or three days to explore! - It was cozy, very interesting and affordable. I wish I had more time to explore. It was cold, the heaters couldn’t keep up with the temperatures. In all fairness though is was 19 degrees at night.

I loved the layout and that every room is different. The inn keeper was so welcoming and generous with her time. She explained the history and showed me a few other rooms.
