The staff are friendly and helpful. They arranged a great driver at a reasonable price who took us to Parque Nacional Ixpanpajul and to the Actun Kan caves.

• Diana (9/5): a little luxury - Gorgeous small hotel with top notch bedding and strong AC. I slept so well. Lovely rooftop bar (claim your free drink) with snacks. Transport to and from the airport. Cafe is cute and food is good. Filtered water in the lobby. Most service was excellent. I also stayed at the Jungle Lodge in Tikal, owned by the same company. I contacted the hotel in advance about transportation from one to the other. But the info I got felt like a separate provider, so I made other arrangements. Missed opportunity (including recognizing me at the Jungle Lodge as someone who'd just spent nights at this hotel). I returned to Flores after Tikal. It was too early to check in (understandable though checkout at Jungle Lodge is early). The receptionist seemed flustered and kept pointing to the sign, saying I couldn't check in till 3. There were so many ways to handle this wait, given that the hotel has a pool, two bars, and gives you a free drink at check in. Instead I went for lunch, came back later (room still not available, receptionist acted like I was a stranger and she hadn't told me to check back), and went to the cafe for another hour. Surely there's a better experience for guests who visit both hotels.

Lo que facilita al recién llegado el instalarse (más si toca una noche lluviosa, como a nosotros). + Personal amable y diligente. + Es limpio, aunque las instalaciones son antiguas y hay poca aislación. + Llegamos el día que mi esposa estaba de cumpleaños, y aunque no tenían para ofrecer alguna experiencia especial (lo traté de coordinar vía Booking bastante antes). El trozo de pastel que pedimos (con una vela), fue regalo de la casa (Bien por los detalles!!, por pequeños que parezcan). + Durante nuestra estadía, fueron muy amables las personas del restaurante y de recepción. - Reservé suite con vistas al lago y la verdad que para un hotel en 2a o 3era calle apartado del borde costero, con edificios circundantes, es poco el beneficio (dista mucho de lo esperado) y NO VALE la diferencia de costo. Además, para lograr la vista, la pieza queda en un 3er piso, de un edificio SIN ascensor y escalas estrechas (para los que llevan maletas). - La pieza (quizás por la petición), estaba a un costado del baño del roof-top. En las 2 noches que estuvimos, hubo poco público, pero me imagino en épocas de mucho movimiento. Mayor costo, no creo valga el ruido a soportar.

The restaurant/bar on the rooftop had fabulous views of the sunset. The food at the restaurant on the rooftop wasn’t very good, but the drinks were. The staff at reception told me I should be able to find a tuk tuk easily in the morning, but there were none so I had to drag my suitcases over the cobblestones to the bridge where I was getting picked up for my shuttle service.

The beds are very comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The rooftop terrace is amazing, and the pool with a view over the lake is simply stunning – a real highlight. There is also a lovely bakery in the hotel, which adds to the overall experience. The staff were fantastic – very friendly, attentive, and always helpful. Would definitely come back

• Natasha.Z (7/5): - Lovely hotel, very close to everything. The have ice water in the lobby. The pool was closed the whole day the first day we arrived. We were never notified in advance that it would be closed. It was disappointing because that was the only day we didn't have any plans and were just going to relax by the pool. The staff at the bar were a bit rude. I wish they offered rates that include breakfast instead of paying for breakfast every day. The breakfast itself was good, asides from oatmeal I ordered one day, which came completely uncooked. The ceiling in the bathroom was dripping all the time.

• Lynn (8/5): Prima hotel op een toplocatie, maar de onvriendelijke receptie en matige service zijn teleurstellend. - Toplocatie, alles is dichtbij. De gratis luchthavenshuttle en het kleine zwembad zijn grote pluspunten. Onze kamer was ruim en het personeel in het restaurant/de bar was ontzettend vriendelijk. De Tikal-tour was goed geregeld met een prima Engelssprekende gids. De receptie was erg onvriendelijk, er kon geen ‘goededag’ vanaf. Hoewel we vroeg aankwamen, werd er nul moeite gedaan de kamer eerder klaar te krijgen (pas stipt 15:00u). We moesten onze koffers zelf drie verdiepingen omhoog dragen zonder enige hulp. De shampoo is van slechte kwaliteit. Let op: de Tikal-tour is iets duurder via het hotel en exclusief entreekaarten, wat ze vooraf durven vergeten te melden. Ook was de groep net iets te groot (15) en verloren we tijd op de luchthaven met het ophalen van andere mensen.

Pasamos un virus estomacal ( nada que ver con el Hotel) pero tuvimos un pequeño accidente las sábanas, en una pequeña parte, se mancharon. Nada que no se pudiese quitar cuando se lavan. Pues a la hora de irnos... nos querían cobrar las sábanas. Tuve que decirle a la chica que era injusto y entonces, después de hablar con la empleada de limpieza me dijo que no me preocupara que salia con agua.!!!!! Es una pena, llevaba muchas expectativas para con el hotel. Aunque repito, el trato fue muy cordial y la comida buena. El virus fue por el agua y como dije, no fue en el hotel. De todas formas, no volveria.

• Lopez Ordoñez (8/5): Cómodo - La ubicación, la comida y la atención del personal. El ruido del extractor de cocina, quedaba cerca de la habitación. La música por la noche del lugar en el roof top, el arrastre de sillas a media noche. En especial si lo que buscas es descansar.

• Jente (6/5): Staff shortcomings - When we arrived at the hotel to check-in we were told to pay a different rate than confirmed on booking.com. The hotel currency was USD, but they only accepted cash USD payment. Since we do not live in the US we clearly had no USD cash at hand and we had to pay in quetzales by card, for which they used an exchange rate favouring the hotel and thus would cost us more than the higher rate in USD. Also did the receptionist tell us the higher fare had breakfast included, which we did not book. She also could not offer us a solution by granting the fare confirmed on booking.com and we thus felt forced to confirm the higher rate with breakfast included. Whilst confirming I clearly asked if breakfast was included for all 4 nights - which was confirmed by the receptionist. On the first morning when getting breakfast, staff told us that we did not have breakfast. We quickly got it resolved by talking to the same receptionist. On the second morning we experienced the same issue, the list showed that we did not have breakfast included. I talked to the reception again (staff of check in and first morning was not on duty) and she told me that only 1 breakfast was included. When we explained the situation, the conversation made it seem as though she was placing the blame on us and not accepting any responsibility (“giving you breakfast for all nights is a lot of money”). As we did not want to further invest our energy in endless discussions, we settled on her solution: 2nd breakfast waived and no further breakfasts for the other nights. Throughout our stay we also felt that the personal was not acknowledging us and other guests. When waiting to ask something at the reception there were never any hello’s or smiles to acknowledge that we were there, even when staff passed us. When we were talking with a staff member, most of the times other colleagues would ask that staff member something. Their focus was never fully on the guest.

• Hachemi (8/5): - La localisation au cœur de l'île, le service de navette très pratique, très belle piscine et rooftop, literie de qualité, propreté irréprochable, climatisation et ventilateurs. Personnel pas très accueillant mais restant disponible.

• Arno (9/5): Een fijn hotel in centrum van Isla de Flores! - Een prettig hotel in het centrum van Isla de Flores. De kamers zijn niet heel sfeervol ingericht, maar wel van alle gemakken voorzien en erg schoon. De badkamer is praktisch ingericht met een fijne warme douche. Er is een restaurant, een bar en koffiebar aan verbonden. Op het dakterras een klein zwembad en een bar met fraai uitzicht op de zonsondergang.

• Helmut (8/5): Everything OK - What we liked the most was the young woman at the reception. She was sincerely wonderful. A definite asset to your hotel It's just overpriced for what you get. But many places in Guatemala are. Maybe you could at least offer hot coffee in the morning.
