Guest Reviews
- Gordon (6/5): - No office so we had to call to get checked in. Facility was right on the highway so it was noisy. Bed was good, and room was clean. Some renovations were not very professional - glue from baseboard smeared on the wall, unfinished ceiling repairs, plumbing in tub hooked up backwards on shower (hot was cold, cold was hot), unfinished painting.
- Ken (5/5): Passable -
- Matthew (5/5): Cheap and a bit run-down. - Great view from balcony.
Bbq so we could cook for ourselves.
Budget price.
Friendly service. Noise from highway.
Lack of crockery to use with bbq facilities.
- Terry (6/5): - Amazing view of Shuswap lake. Room was clean and all amenities (microwave, coffe, frig.
Tv did not work. Could use a coat of paint and landscaping
Lovely patio table to have morning coffee and enjoy view
- Nathaniel (2/5): - The rooms had no private bath or ac. There was just enough room to ease around bed.
- Edward (7/5): It provided basic accommodations for my trip - Convenient location Furnishings we’re out of date.
- Carmela (2/5): - Everything
- Arthur (7/5): Good - Being able to see the lake from our room The nearness of the highway. Which I knew about ahead of time.
- chet (8/5): Budget room just fine - Greeted upon arrival. Attendant took us to our room. She immediately inquired if we liked the. All good. Basic room but met our needs and expections.
Perhaps a need to change mattress as it was a bit too soft.
- Brian (8/5): - A rustic, charming place. I liked my room a lot. It was clean, the woman I dealt with was very nice and pleasant. Bed was comfortable, and the price was competitive. I enjoyed my stay.
- Artic (2/5): - Unfortunately, the room was VERY dirty. There was a smashed cockroach on the wall, another live cockroach coming out of a light fixture. The shower looked brown and grungy, as if it hadn't been cleaned ... ever. There was even what looked like mucus smeared all over the wall. When they showed the room, the lock didn't work... I was told not to worry. Slept on top of the comforter, fully clothed. Had booked for 2 nights, needless to say it was 1 and done - only because it was late and we had no where else to go. Do not recommend.
- Dave (1/5): Bad -
- Sarah (6/5): - Lovely view, but unfortunately room smelled of smoke
- Trevor (4/5): - Room smells like smoke. I asked to be moved because the first room smelled like someone had been smoking in it despite all the no smoking signs. New room was fine until I left and came back. The manager is nice but I'm guessing he's ignoring whoever is in room #1.
To bad because the place could be nice when they get it fixed up and the views on the back side are excellent.
- Don (7/5): Good -
- Pat (6/5): Pleasant -
- Emily (6/5): - No office. Had to phone motel number for them to send staff to check us in. Clean, but poorly renovated room. Thin windows and walls, a lot of loud traffic. Bed was comfortable.
- Michelle (10/5): - Very modern and clean rooms. From my room on the top floor at the back there was an amazing view. There are bbq's in close proximity to most rooms as well as a covered area with a couple large bbq's and benches. Great place for a family reunion, group of friends get together or just a quick get away. Would highly recommend to anyone
- Kevin (6/5): Pleasant - Noisy, hiway #1.
- Stephen (10/5): Fantastic views at value motel - Great place and my room had superb views down to the water.
Useful store close at the gas station. Bits of building trash around the building and screws and nails in the pathway. That's all really.
- Nels (1/5): I was excited to stay there as I have driven past this place for years, very unsatisfied and would not return. - the location it was dirty
- staff was very poor at speaking English
- area around the hotel was dirty and garbage was laying around
- no cushions in chairs overlooking the lake and some were broken
- bathroom was extremely dirty
-
- Bev (2/5): Very poor -
- Gallant (1/5): Bad -
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- kailey (4/5): - They are obviously upgrading the property so it’s in the works. The floor was dusty and dirty from construction. The bedding needed to be changed as you could see flecks that were dirty and the person who came to do so, was trying to argue they were stains even though you could smear the substance. The coffee cups were dirty. Even upon check in no one was in the office and the attendant from the gas station had to get keys for us. It was a strange and not ideal stay but I think it will get better as they continue the upgrades
- Mariia (5/5): If you have to choose between tent or this - choose this. But if this motel or other hotel - choose hotel! - Better than in the tent It’s very old
- Larin (4/5): Very run down - It was close to where friends were. Bed was comfortable. The place was dirty. Floors not cleaned, 1/2 inch of dust under the bed and one corner of the bed was held up by a large rock. Bathroom sink looked like it was ready to fall off the wall. Old coffee in coffee maker and the cups were dirty. I only slept there as I was visiting with friends. They are renovating so hope its better next year.
- Wayne (8/5): Would stay there again - It was clean and fairly comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for being right on the highway.
- Muhammad (5/5): Overall it was OK. - The place is being renovated. Little work is required. But for that price it was ok. Was not very clean. Really old appliances. Uncomfortable bed. Short of staff
- Sharareh (1/5): never choose this motel ever - didn’t like this dirty place we found bed bugs and we slept in our car instead our room!
- Razieh (2/5): - Unfortunately, we saw bedbugs on my friend’s bed 😡😡😡😡
- Siamak (4/5): - The gentleman who recieved us was very friendly and kind with little knowledge of hospitality sector. The lake view is great too. The motel is very close to where you can watch sockeye salmon run.
- Melanie (7/5): Good -
- B.whatcott (10/5): Very good place. Godd service and good value for money. - Very good place. Godd service and good value for money.
- Scott (9/5): I'll be back. It met all of my expectations. Great location, great staff, clean and comfortable. - I was running late and was going to arrive well after the time I had expected. I called the manager John, and he could not have been more accommodating. When I arrived, my room was ready for me, with the lights on and the baseball on the television. The motel is in a great location, looking over Little Shuswap Lake, and it's far enough away from the highway that you cannot hear any traffic.
- Nelson (8/5): Very good -
- Tobi (7/5): Good -
- Cynthia (7/5): Room was very clean and manager was welcoming and helpful. - Location was great. Right off the highway, easy in and out. Beautiful lake views from the terrace at the back. New owners are working hard to make improvements to this property.
- Anonymous (10/5): absolutely awesome 🤗 - we loved the relaxing environment & the view
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (7/5): Pleasant surprise. Good value for money and really not that bad at all. - Location was great for what we needed. Slowly undergoing renovations so the room was a nice surprise. Around back and quiet. John, the caretaker, has been working slowly to bring things back up to snuff and doing an OK job of it. New Ac, fridge in room along with microwave and coffee. Large bathroom. Overall very fair value for price. Without GPS you could miss the turn off really easy. Better signage and lighting would help.
- melissa (8/5): - The new caretaker was lovely! Very friendly and understanding. The room was quite clean! Apart from some aspects of the room that could use renovation, I had a lovely stay :)
- Jeanine (8/5): - Amazing location with mountain and lake views. I felt like I could just breathe and relax.
- Rosann (10/5): Exceptional -
- brian (10/5): - The manager was outstanding, very helpful , It was pleasant quiet and safe
- Vernon (8/5): manager was friendly and helpful - no breakfast included
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Paul (10/5): - Great for the price. Very large room. Outdated but functional. 7 min drive to the closest grocery store and restaurant. Lovely view. We'll stay there again.
- William (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lyndsey (1/5): Bad - They charged me twice for my stay, and after talking to them they still haven’t given me the refund after confirming that they double charged me.
- Erik (1/5): Not clean, or set up for guests. - While the guy overseeing the property was nice it wasn't at all set up to have guests. They are doing work on the location and it should be shut down while they are doing it.
- David (8/5): - New owner trying to get it organized and cleaned up. He has done a great job with the yard. The rooms are older but very clean and comfortable.
- Wanda (4/5): - It's not suitable for a hotel.
- Joseph (6/5): - This property is in a beautiful part of BC. But it’s everything you’d expect for the price. The walls are very thin (heard every word of a lengthy conversation my neighbour was having on the phone), the bed was old and sagging, and the room was tired. BUT the price was right for place to sleep. Overall: it’s ok.
- Jason (6/5): - Perfectly adequate
- Jessie (4/5): - Dirty and smelly , the bathroom draining not working properly, the bed too soft and had squeaky sounds, same as floor when you walk on it, the bathtub has hairs. Very loud at night when all the trucks pass by, only the location is good, you will see the mountain and lakes behind you
- Carole (6/5): - Wonderful view of the lake in autumn splendid.
- Bernice (4/5): - They said the office closed at 7, I arrived at 6:50 and the door was already locked. I pushed the button outside (which had a camera as well) for 10 minutes, no one came. I walked around the back and knocked on the door, no one answered. I called Expedia and explained, they called jade mountain and the lady came out of the door I was knocking on. They were ignoring the bell and me knocking directly on the door. The walls were paper thin, I had to listen to the party next door all night as if they were in my room.
- Katherine Jordan (8/5): - It was a quaint little motel. I liked that all of the entrances to the rooms were private and would definitely stay here again.
- Danny (8/5): - Small, but very clean
- angy (6/5): - Good location
Needs to be cleaned and updated more to be a nicer stay
Friendly staff
- Geoff (4/5): Clean room, not pet friendly, early check out time - Hotel is part of a garage. Room was very clean but the floor was a noisy walking on it. Check out time is an absolute 10 AM., very strict. The pictures on-line are decieving as the area is unkept. The owner is very cautious to ensure that everyone is COViD clean complete with a mask, which is a good thing. Wouldn't stay here again.
- Brian (10/5): - Convenient, nice view, friendly owner, would have more amenities in non COVID-19 times
- Maureen (8/5): - Nice owners and very clean. Great place to stop if heading to the coast.
- Aren (8/5): - The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the suite above us was occupied by a noisy individual who made sleep impossible. the manager responded promptly and we still enjoyed a restful sleep.
- L A (10/5): Friendly place to stay - Friendly place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Ideal stop to brak a journey from Banff to Vancouver.
- Mike (10/5): - Excellent stay, on par with hotels, very nice wood cabin that smells like cedar (very nice). Clean bed, huge bathtub perfect for relaxation after a long day. I had the room that face the lake on the back side. Fantastic place to stay near Chase or on the way thru the province.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property was pleasant and not too noisy being along the highway. The grounds could have been better taken care of.
- Peter (8/5): Quick stop - Staff very friendly and accommodating. Check in was quick and easy.
Suggest ear plugs and sleep eye masks.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Super convenient right off the highway, room was nice and clean and person that checked us in was really friendly. Not much to eat on-site except beef jerky and energy drinks so we had to go into Chase, but found a nice place for sushi and a liquor store, so came back here and had a great supper on the patio overlooking lake. Great place to stay, good price!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Property very run down, is up for sale, grounds are grown over with weeds. Tables and chairs, bbq, not wiped down, very dusty. Bathroom very clean, bed clean, over all, needs upgrading.
- hayley (8/5): - The owner and his family are so welcoming and kind! They made me some delicious food and even gave me a discount on the room
- Kåleigh (8/5): Decent stay - Overall we had a great stay. The owner was very friendly and provided good check in service (hassle free). We had a upstairs room which had a nice deck and view but was old and outdated. Had a old spring mattress which was very hard and left us with a bit of pain when we woke up and the AC was attached to a power bar which would cause the power bar to over heat and turn off after 5 minutes. Could get extremely hot in the summer with no ac. For the price and location though, I’d stay again.
- EB (4/5): - The walls between the rooms were paper thin. We heard every conversation and bodily function from the next room. Drive a few more km and stay in Kamloops.
- Patricia (8/5): - Great room and host at a more than reasonable rate !!
- Sandy (10/5): I think we got the honeymoon suite - You could hear the highway but our unit faced the lake not the TransCanada so it didn't keep us awake. Not much in the way of options to eat on a Sunday night in Chase or at anytime really... we were told that the restaurant was closed and the chef was in Korea. The grounds were a bit run down but the little patio was a nice bonus. Really enjoyed a soak in the giant tub after our long drive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The views are lovely. The property is very quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, convenient, and excellent customer service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the property was neat clean and the owner was great.
- Eileen (10/5): - Great stopover!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The manager was extremely nice and offered us a complimentary beverage & snack from the shop since we arrived late and everything in town was closed
- Jin (6/5): - The property is very unique and the view is beautiful. But the bed is not comfortable at all. It is too soft. I wish that the owner could spend a little bit more money on the bed.
- Mark (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, friendly with a beautiful view.
- Neera (10/5): - I stayed at the Jade Motel for 5 nights and used it as my base to explore the area. My room was on the ground floor and although it faced the highway, with earplugs in at night, I didn't hear a single vehicle. The unit was much bigger than I thought with very high ceilings and a super large bathroom which was where I kept my bike. The air conditioner worked like a charm and the bar fridge was larger than most. There wasn't a freezer but Peter the host was very kind to store my ice packs in his freezer every day. He greeted me with the nicest smile every day and on my way home, sent me on my way with a snack for the long drive. For the price, location and size of room, this place was a winner. I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel just off the highway - The hotel doesn't have much in the way of curb appeal but the view behind the hotel more than makes up for it. We stayed there one night as we headed further east and the room was comfortable and reasonably priced.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean and comfy room - We had the room closest to the road, and darn glad we had ear plugs. It is very loud with big trucks and just vehicles going buy, so earplugs are essential! The place was lovely and clean and the owner Peter was great! Would recommend again
- Helena (8/5): - Friendly and kind host. I really appreciated that arriving tired and ready for my room. An excellent breakfast of French toast with crisp bacon, just the way I like it and coffee for $4.50!
- Derek (8/5): - Amazing view, great location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location for where I was working.
- Scott (8/5): Worth a Try - Very quaint little hotel with a very accommodating host and hostess. Room was more than adequate in size, comfortable bed and extremely clean. With Free WIFI, sat TV, microwave, fridge and coffee maker what more do you need. The views are magnificent and a very cheap breakfast at the cafe made it a very enjoyable stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Most amazing view! - Great place to stay. Very clean. HUGE tub to soak in after a long day. Very comfortable bed. I would recommend it to anyone! Thanks again.
- bonnie (10/5): Log cabin feel - We checked into this hotel and couldn't wait to stay there it was so cute. On our way home from a night out there was a huge accident on the highway with ours wait so unfortunately we had to turn around and get another hotel.
The next day I drove to return the keys and he graciously gave me a card offering me a free night stay. Very friendly people and very charming location. Can't wait to actually sleep there next time!
- ron (10/5): Small motel with character - Great location. Nice room. Overlooking the lake. Helpful staff.
- Jason (6/5): Great budget option if you have nobody to impress - Stayed for two nights and used this as my base for a day of motorcycling in the area. The bed in my room was very comfortable and the room was as clean and well maintained as many less budget oriented places I have stayed. The owners are friendly and helpful and did their best to make sure I had a comfortable stay. The unglamorous location right on the highway and hotel grounds are the only drawbacks. If you don't care about the cosmetics of that its a great value.
- Jim (6/5): Jade Mountain motel - Motel is okay and never had any issues other than accessing the parking lot going east. The correct way is driving 2 miles down the road and making a proper uturn and head west. It is illegal to cross a double solid line and dangerous. The highway speed is 100 kmph and stopped to turn left is not a great idea.
- David (10/5): Great motel on Trans Canadian Highway - This motel met all of our needs. Clean, large room with newly remodeled bathrooms with real hot water. Had refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine in room.Good TV reception and wifi. Owner was super friendly. We had a very good breakfast there and should have had a burger there the night before. Located right along highway, but rooms were quiet. Would definitely recommend this motel. A real bargain.
- Verified traveler (10/5): very quiet, clean and very friendly staff - I booked last minute as travelling through town. The motel was so very cute, clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful
Will definitely stay there again

- Mike (8/5): Simple but nice - I really enjoyed my stay at the Jade Mountain Motel. At first I was a little apprehensive when I saw the motel was adjacent to a busy highway, but was able to get a room on the back side that was quite pleasant. I stayed for several days while attending a function at Sorrento Centre, about 16km away.
The room was clean and serviced every day. A small window-mounted air conditioner kept the room comfortable during the warm weather, and also helped mask the occasional highway vehicle during the night - although being on the back side of the motel really cut down on the road noise. There was a nice, 2-person tub I never used, opting instead for the small shower.
This is not a luxurious hotel, but it is a pleasant little roadside motel with a good bed, clean bathroom, coffeemaker, microwave, refrigerator, and some nice outdoor areas overlooking Shuswap Lake. Peter, the manager, was friendly and eager to make my stay enjoyable. Even with a coffeemaker in my room, I started my days with a freshly made cup from the motel office, where I had some nice conversations with Peter..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - An older hotel but clean, very good for the money.
- Diane (10/5): Top of the hwy - Manager was accomodating. Place was quaint and adorable since we had an upstairs room with a view. Not much around because it was on the highway north of Chase. We liked it. Not much of a town for restaurants. Had to drive to a filling station with attached A&W for dinner. Eat before town and bring your own food to hotel.
