- Charles (9/5): Quant quiet cabins. - This is a quant little resort. Filled with little cottages.most are stand alone. And a few face the river. It is very quiet at night. And possibly the darkest place I've been. The cabins are a bedroom with a kitchenette and a bathroom. They provide plates and utensils for making your own food. If thats your thing. You also have use of a park style bbq pit. Of course you have to bring all of your own charcoal and food. There is also a cool badminton court. A ping pong table and a tetherball court. Its also a short drive to the town of Felton. Where you can find a few restaurants and bars. And about a 20 minute drive to the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk. The cabins are older and are well kept. But have not been updated. But that kind of lends to the feel of the place. You feel a little like you are glamping, while still being close to amenities. Over all its a cool place to spend a few days or a week. And it makes a great base camp for a coastal vacation. The shower was to small for me. I am 6 ft. And the shower is a single stall with a extended shower arm. It was hard to wet my head. But I still managed. Its a lot like showering in a travel trailer.

My only complaint is our cabin was connected to a wall/another cabin who had 2 young children. They were nonstop jumping on furniture (bed, futons, tables, etc.), slamming the windows and walls and running back & forth across the cabin. For literally hours nonstop. I know this exactly because I went over to ask if they could try to keep it limited a bit a few times and witnessed it all myself as well as seeing the kids hitting the windows when I walked by. It sounded as if it was in our cabin and as if a train was going through both cabins. The wood floors echo so loud. When I talk to staff, she said, hopefully the kids go to bed early. I was hoping to get a little support. I have three children, and completely understand their need to have fun, but this was completely beyond that. I would love to stay at this resort again, but will absolutely not get a room attached to another. That’s a horrible gamble that could ruin your stay. We were unable to watch TV lay down and read or just enjoy the sounds of nature around us. I did not expect or want to complete silence, but I did not expect or want the chaos that was next-door either.

- Steve (10/5): We loved our stay and didn't want to leave. Can't wait to go back! - We loved everything about our stay. Family friendly, close to market, parks and Roaring Camp. We will definitely be coming back. The only thing that I noticed, were spider webs on the corners of the ceiling. But, I just have a thing about that.

We just needed a spot for the night and this is a resort, best for long stays. We didn’t know we should have had paper towels, tissues with us, and had to find coffee. It wasn’t clear about checking out - we had to dump garbage and towels were supposed to be brought to office which was not open. The gal who cleans saw me and took them saying we could have left them in the room.

Cabin 8 was not the right cabin for my family, my son is 6’5” and the shower in this cabin was tiny. Even if you are tiny like myself, I had to open the door to shave my legs. I have never been in a shower that small. Also, the futon bed in Cabin 8 needs a mattress topper. The springs in the mattress were brutal on my bones. For reference I am 5’8” and 120 pounds.

Lovely little cottages set in a circle snuggled up under the giant redwood trees with sounds of a peaceful river running near by. The Roaring Camp Railroad and Henry Cowell State Park both less than a mile away make this a perfect location to call home for your stay

What more do you need? - the most lovely property with all the necessities along the water. the vibe of the redwoods and cabin was so special! very clean and comfortable! my kids really enjoyed swimming in the river and picking blackberries. only thing is that if you book later in the day and arrive after 3 the office is closed. booked through booking.com fyi. we arrived at 6pm and there was no one in the office and although we received a confirmation email with info letting us know that the registration papers and key that were supposed to avail outside the office for us were not there. a slight moment of panic with 2 little kids in the car and darkness descending. we had been trying to call since 4pm on our drive there, probably 20x, but no one answering the phone. I did alert the owner to maybe having a different # avail no one was around luckily they leave an emergency contact list outside the office so we were able to reach the owner who came down asap to check us in. our room had mistakingly not been cleaned yet even though it was 6pm, so she was king enough to upgraded us from cabin 6 to cabin 10, which had more space and an additional bedroom, which was so appreciated! this is a very special place, highly recommend but def try to to reach via phone before arriving to confirm your reservation. especially if booking late or through a 2nd party. I did alert the owner to maybe having a different # avail for guests to call to confirm the reservation. everything except the uncertainty of being able to verbally confirm our reservation prior to arriving (late).

The only downer is that it's connected to the sites laundry room so you can hear everything. Overall great, quiet and relaxing time. Right next to the river which was beautiful. Shopping is close by so if you need anything it's close. Definity will be staying here again.
