Tamika (2/5): It was a NO for me - Seldom have I ever left a hotel after paying and I've stayed in some questionable hotels, but I actually had to leave this one. I couldn't stay. The first room had mold all over the comforter and smelled horribly. The 2nd room had shoe prints on the sheets, was covered in dust, plugs hanging from the wall, and smelled like weed. I gave 2 rooms a chance and went back to cancel. Just go ahead and skip this place.

At 11am on the departure day management had the cleaning lady come an tell me it was time to go. Needless to say, I will never stay here again.

The housekeeping was really friendly and helpful, though after cleaning the room there was a smell of wet mop that lingered for hours. The motel is overall well lit and clean, though not particularly nice (holes in the blackout material of the curtains, burnt out light bulb in room, peeling paint on the doors).

Electrical sockets hanging out of the wall and takes a whole century for the water to turn hot in the shower and sink. The complimentary breakfast is and insult no compliment basically its a selection of cheap junk food. This hotel was the worst part of my family trip and the next time i visit Port Lavaca i most definitely will not stay at the chaparral!

Jillian (8/5): Good for the price - The room was clean and they were very accommodating. The only problem was the smell of the room but it wasn’t anything that Fabreeze couldn’t fix. Their continental breakfast wasn’t good. The coffee machine was out of order and the juices were out as well. The little restaurant next door had great food and coffee so that problem was solved quickly.

Very run down and if the room would have been refundable, we would have cancelled as soon aa we saw the location. More worker oriented and not family oriented. The lady at the front desk that had to give me the hairdryer was nice.

Looked to be dried blood on the wall by the door and the door appeared to have been kicked in. They have a no refund policy so we basically lost money because we choose to stay elsewhere. There was a layer of filth on everything and the overwhelming smell of mold. We stayed 20 minutes in our 2 night stay.

Kelly (2/5): Utterly Disgusting - I honestly didn't realize that hotels.com contracted with these types of slum places. This venue was at the same level of disgusting as one of those $39 per night truckstop motels off the freeway in Houston. It was so dirty and dilapidated and gross that my kids were terribly upset and did not want to stay there. They refused to refund my money (which was the same rate of a regular hotel), so we ended up sleeping on the couch at a friend's place because we did not want to endure staying here. There was caked on dirt on the chairs, the lamps were coated in dust and grime and also falling apart. The refrigerator was rusty and musty on the inside. The drawers and cabinets had a terrible stench, and we didn't feel comfortable removing our shoes. My son asked how many people I thought did drugs in that room, and the whole place smacked of the place they found the daughter in the movie "Traffic". It was an absolute nightmare.

Gerardo (6/5): Room smelled funny... - Room was musty, a lot of dead bugs around the floor boards. Its a good place to spend a cheap night at, but other then that is a stretch.
Verified traveler (6/5): Took a chance. - Location was good, enter the room there was a Chair that look like it came from the dumpster,the internet sucks, it’s definitely a no thrills hotel.... bed was comfortable cable extremely limited channels....... will I return probably not ...
Jonathan (10/5): I'll definitely come back again - I was very pleased with my 2 night stay at the Chaparral Motel in Port Lavaca, TX. The room was cleaned every day, and both the Proprietor and the Lady Staff were very nice.

Donna (4/5): Don't stay at this hotel - We first pull up to the window to the room the curtains are filthy dirty from the outside a walk in the room there is dust everywhere on top of the phone on top of the refrigerator on top of the microwave no coffee pot the bathroom toilet moved every time you sat down the tub was filthy they have no toiletries except for something they called soap but was not soap got to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night the floor in front of the refridgerator was sooking wet I almost slipped on the floor the bedspread was filthy I took it off and tossed it in the floor and used my own blanket I'm praying the sheets were clean it was a very dirty hotel room for the price we had to pay don't stay

Elizabeth (8/5): One night stay - For the price i cannot complain. The staff was very friendly. We only stayed one night, so really we jist needed a bed. The heasboard fell off the wall for no reason and there were areas of the room that need some carpentry work. Bur overall, if i had ti stay again, it wasn't that bad. It was clean.
Laci (8/5): Good room for the price paid - The front office staff was very friendly. The room was clean. There was a hole in the wall and old tv mounts still on the wall but othetwise for the price we got what was to be expected. Overall I was satisfied witb our stay.
Kaila (2/5): Disgusting and FILTHY - Disgusting room, random strands of hair everywhere including a nasty hairball in the restroom and stained towels. Never will I ever book a hotel with them again. The key cards are not even numbered! To top it off, the room smelled of body odor. I doubt they did regular maintenance of any sort. The tv did not even work. To top it off, there was a disgusting hand print left on the mirror next to the tv!
Unsatisfied (6/5): - The toilet would not flush unless we took the back of the camode off. The mirrrors were nasty, had to go ask for towels, and when house keeping came in while we were out they changed the language on the television and didn’t change it back to English.

Clinton (8/5): No frills but clean - If you want a clean comfortable room with a decent price this is definitely your place. AC worked good, tv was good, bed was clean and comfy, great service and good restaurant with home cooking next door.
