Guest Reviews
- Lisa (10/5): Wonderful and convenient home base for exploring Tikal and Yaxha. - The property is well designed to blend with the environment. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The shuttle is convenient. The food in the restaurant is really fresh and delicious. The pool is clean and a great spot to relax.
- Martina (8/5): Lodge in the nature, liked the location right next to the Tikal entrance - Fully immersed in the nature, with monkeys outside from out window Our bathroom got clogged during the night, with a horrible smell
- Cassandra (9/5): Lush stay in the park! - Loved the room, which had everything we needed: comfy beds (fitted with mosquito nets), hot shower, shampoo and conditioner, nice white towels. Loved also that it's located directly in the park, surrounded by the sounds of howler monkeys. Staff onsite were kind and helpful. While there were a lot of complaints in the reviews about the pool, for us it was clean, and the Resto, we found it to be worthwhile. We loved the pool and foosball tables and the fact that they aired a documentary in the movie area. Really, the place went above and beyond, we felt! The shuttle left 30 minutes later than expected because we were waiting for other guests, and the price we paid wasn't exactly what we were initially quoted in the messages.

No contestan preguntas básicas y tardaron demasiado tiempo.
- Claire (8/5): Overall a pleasant stay - Lovely restaurant, bar and reception area. Cinema area showing an evening documentary on Mayan history The website shows photos of a rooftop viewing platform suggesting you can watch the sun setting over the Mayan ruins. This does not exist and you would need to take a sunset tour into the ruins. The swimming pool was murky.
- Julio (4/5): Tikal merece la pena. Y está dentro del parque. Sino… - La localizacion La recepcion
- bensalem (10/5): - L emplacement,services Rien

- AMOL ASHOK (9/5): Great - Great location No hot water
- Hector (10/5): - Highlight of my trip!
- frank (9/5): Could not be better - If visiting the Mayan ruins at Tikal, this is the place to stay. You are within the park and can tour the park anytime, preferably before 9 am and after 3 pm to avoid the heat. Super clean and food excellent. Enjoyed soaking in the pool to cool off after a hot day ( temp 90-100 degrees F). Very pleasant staff. Convenient shuttle from the airport FRS. Only thing that could have been better would be having A/C in our bungalow (it is not available anywhere on the property).

- Nicola (8/5): We had a great time and it was wonderful being able to walk directly into the park. - The location is fantastic! Some of the facilities weren’t open due to the date of our stay.
- Nina (9/5): Great spot for a night when visiting the park - Great location in the forest, close to ruins Use if cheap linolium flooring material in room. Also very slippery when wet.
- Mauricio (8/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): - Everything was really close, restauraunts, shops, tours. No ac in room
- Nicholas (3/5): Overall a terrible experience for the price. - The location, literally that’s it. How hot the rooms were, hotel rooms are the same as the hostel rooms. Hotel room does even have its own bath and shower. Customer service was terrible. Had no towel and water in my room. Someone staying in a hostel said they got 2 bottles of water upon arrival. When I told the front desk about not having towels and water they would not give me water and gave me a towel but it was after negotiating. Overall just a terrible experience for the price.
- Simone (7/5): Great location but very overpriced - Nice location and beautifull surroundings. The private room was cosy but fine. Towel service was great and the pool area great to relax after the tour or a visit to the park. The food in the restaurant was diverse and lots of different options. Great location if you want to discover the park on your terms.
Guys from the reception were nice and helpful. Despite the good things, we were a little disappointed by minor things that shouldn’t have been this way. This lodge seems luxurious seen by the setup and the prices. However they safe money on some questionable (for us essential) things. It’s the only hotel in Guatemala we encountered without a water station. With temperatures over 35 degrees it’s ridiculous you need to pay 25 qtz for every bottle of water. The restaurant was very expensive (they are the only restaurant options for three meal). While some dishes were good, the hamburger was super dry and simple.
Also the showers were either boiling hot or cold. No in between.
The sunrise tour we took was medium. Fairly expensive for the lack of information we got while the brochure states a lot of different topics that’d be covered during the tour. Also we are staying next to the park but we left too late so that we had to stay in line. Shouldn’t have been the case if you keep your word by leaving on the time promised instead of waiting for guests who are showing up late.
Overall we’d stay again (since options are limited) but it’s so easy to make ones stay unforgettable by fixing minor and essential things you’d expect from a decent lodge. It’s super overpriced for what you’d expect.
- Martens (8/5): Will definitely recommend Jungle Lodge. The room was comfortable, especially the bed! It was beautif - Breakfast was fine. The restaurant is lovely.
Bed 's avonds opgemaakt
Prima kamer
Leeslampjes Geen eigen badkamer
- toromogura (9/5): -
- Keveen (9/5): Amazing location perfect for a relaxed getaway. - The location and relaxed environment. No cold water in our room.
- T-mare (9/5): -
- Kirk (8/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): Comfy stay in the heart of Tikal - Unbeatable location, room was clean and had everything we needed, good shared showers It’s quite expensive for what it is, but you’re paying for the location
- Tony (10/5): -
- Clayton (8/5): -
- Riin (10/5): Amazing location, lovely stay - Amazing location lovely stay. At first they put me in a room next to the restaurant and reception with no window glass, so it would have been impossible to get any sleep noise wise. Luckily they managed to move me further away after I insisted I cannot sleep. So if you want to sleep make sure to check in advance which room they're planning to give you.
- Patricia (9/5): -
- Danielle (10/5): -

- Tessa (9/5): - The location is unbeatable and the staff very friendly. The pool didn’t look very clean.

- Catherine (9/5): -
- Nadia (8/5): Perfect location to explore the jungle - The location was excellent and the pool was great. The hostel pictures looked way better on the website than it did in person. There were no windows and the shared bathroom was outside. We paid extra to upgrade to a bungalow which was much more comfortable.
- Rafael (9/5): - We were inside the park, the food was good The price was high
- Pardo (10/5): - Unbeschreiblich schöne Lage. Sehr nettes, hilfsbereites Personal. Einfach alles super schön
- Luis E (10/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Brenes (9/5): -
Personale disponibile e gentile.
- Eleanor (9/5): - Excellent location in the Tikal park! The sunrise tour was incredible. Beautiful jungle surroundings with howler monkeys and toucans in the tree tops. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely to relax by the pool and lots of options for food and drinks. The bath in our room didn’t fill properly but otherwise everything was fab!
- Guy (10/5): -
- Jan (8/5): -
- R (2/5): - We arrived for sunrise at Tikal before the tour groups.
Grounds are well laid out. Many rooms were empty (and remained empty for our stay) but they made us wait 8 hours to check in after 6 hours travelling with two young children in tow.
Our room flooded from the toilet leaving it stinking of urine and staff were not quick to help. We were without a room for hours.
Our luggage got soaked and the staff would not let us talk to management actually smirking as we explained the problem.
The food was all microwaved, a steak cannot appear 5 mins after being ordered. Bland, overcooked vomit on a plate, nothing is fresh. Overpriced and everything has a 10% tip added, even a beer straight from the fridge, no option to not pay it.
All milk is powdered mixed with water unless you go to the coffee bar and pay Europe prices for a coffee.
Pool water is filthy, like a sun lotion soup with added leaves, bees, flies and twigs.
Noisy road behind our cabin with all night motorbike traffic.
No internet in rooms which is so easy to resolve but it forces you to sit in the main building and buy an everlasting amount of drinks and snacks at premium prices. Good tactic guys!
Only the proximity to Tikal allows them to get away with this overpriced sub standard rubbish.
Absolute rubbish and an embarrassment to Guatemala's premier tourist attraction.
Super recomendado Todo me gustó
- Jodi (8/5): - Loved being close to the gate in Tikal .
Loved the pool and bar . . Loved all the lite up pathways at night . Lying in bed and listening to the howler monkeys and jungle sounds was an absolute highlight The bug net needs to be replaced around the bed
Too small for two ppl
- Martina (4/5): Woke up with the monkeys and the sound of the nature but overpriced - The location was nice inside the Tikal park, we woke up in the morning with monkeys in front of our room. Delirio Cafe was amazing quality The sanitaries were not working properly, during the night the water got clogged and the whole bathroom had water on the Floor and there was no one to help until 6:30. Restaurant is good but not very friendly staff.
- Andreas (10/5): -
- Joanna (9/5): Tikal is a very special place and the Jungle Lodge has an ideal location right at the entrance. - Very nice pool especially after a long hot day of hiking around the ruins of Tikal. We had good food in the restaurant. Most of the staff were helpful and Eddy at reception was extremely helpful throughout our stay. I commend him. Some of the restaurant staff weren’t very friendly. We like to have tea, and had our own teabags with us, but even so, getting boiling water from them was difficult at times. Other places we stayed had boiling water freely available which was nice. I’m not sure that we actually were in the accommodation that we had booked, but it was ok. There were only shared bathrooms, but we met two girls who were paying the same price as us and who had their own private bathroom. However, we enjoyed our stay.
- James (8/5): -
- Laura (7/5): -
- Chakri (9/5): Lovely hotel. - Fantastic location. In the national park. We knew there is no AC due to scarcity of electricity but I think they can improve on the quality of the ceiling fans. It was a bit warmer inside than on the outside and the windows can’t be opened with the mosquito net closed. You have to open both. Minor issue and may not be an issue for most people.
- Matt (10/5): This place was like something from a dream. - The grounds are so beautiful and perfectly maintained. It’s literally steps away from the entrance to Tikal. The vibe feels like something out of an Indiana Jones movie. Howler monkeys so close that they wake you up at night. Spider monkeys everywhere. Lots of exotic birds. Just sitting out on the covered porch soaking up the insane downpours was incredible. Nothing. You have to set your expectations appropriately: you are in the middle of a huge jungle, hours from the nearest big town. You’re not going to get the same quality of food from the restaurant, but they do an excellent job with what they have.
- Franz (8/5): -
- Richard (9/5): It made our Tikal experience even better - If you’re going to stay at Tikal, this seems to be the best choice. (We walked to the other two options for a look, but admittedly didn’t go inside.) Jungle Lodge’s setting, design and landscaping are all aesthetically pleasing, the staff were lovely, and they even show an old National Geographic documentary in the lobby every evening to provide some context for Tikal. Not something we didn’t like, but note that if, like us, you stay in the cheaper hostel wing, you’ll have a shared bathroom. This wasn’t a problem: there was always a spare shower cubicle and the bathroom area was always spotlessly clean. The food is understandably more expensive than in Flores, but you’re only going to be there for a night or two.
- Danielle (5/5): Not like in the pictures but great location - Location is superb for visiting Tikal, right by the entrance of the park.
The coffee corner has nice coffees and pastries.
The restaurant staff was very friendly.
There is a nice pool, which had some fun toys for the kids. It was not very clean, there was an outside area with jacuzzi and a seat but we did not use it because the floor was covered in leaves and was sticky. Nobody had cleaned it in a while.
Plus the beds were small. We booked a room for 5, with two supposedly ‘full’ double beds and a sofa bed. The double beds are a very small queen size however and it was not comfortable for 5 people. We ended up booking and extra room for the second night.
The restaurant, the bar and the coffee corner each seem to be separate businesses, meaning you need to pay up
To three separate bills every time you consume something there. You also cannot charge anything to the room.
Overall the property has all the ingredients to be a wonderful jungle lodge but it’s not very well taken care of, making it look a lot
Less appealing than what it looks like in the pictures.
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Abdollah (8/5): -
- Alexis (10/5): -
- Paul (7/5): - Nice location and rooms/facilities were really good. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
Sunrise tour organised through the hotel was good. Restaurant staff were rude and not very professional. Decided to eat in other venues after the first day.
- Hernandez (10/5): Excelente - Brutal Todo me gustó
- Elisabeth (10/5): -
- Luc (10/5): Superbe endroit. - Offre globale de haute Qualité Rien
- David (8/5): Great option to visit Tikal - Location cannot be better, so close to the ruins and immersed in jungle, there’s lots of wildlife around which you can see and hear from the rooms. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable, and it’s great that they organize the pickup/dropoff shuttle and sunrise tours. A swim in the pool after the visit to the ruins was also great. Our main complaint concerns the on-site restaurant, which is quite expensive and the food is just not good, very bland overall. The waiting staff didn’t seem to know the menu well and couldn’t answer most of our questions. The reason I mention this is because there are no other options for dinner around, so I understand the high prices but not the lack of cooking skills. One other small point is that the poolside bar wasn’t operational, which was a shame.
