• Kirsty (10/5): Beautiful Nikko - Charles was an amazing host; gave us lifts to and from the main town. Provided a warm and friendly welcome, and some great advice on how to explore the area. The room was so much bigger than anything we’d stayed in whilst in Japan and with the bonus of hearing the stream babbling outside. Nikko is stunning and serene. Exactly what we needed after the bustle of the big cities, and Charles and his wife were so accommodating that we wish we could have stayed there longer.

• Verified traveler (6/5): 急なキャンセルをホテル側から言われました。 - 結局　滞在できてないんです。宿泊4日ほど前に　ホテル側から　ボイラーが壊れたから　他を探してくださいと電話がありました。 他のホテルと言って、同じような料金のホテルを紹介されました。それは仕方ないのですが、キャンセルするのに、自分でしなくてはいけないし、キャンセル料発生する一日前でしたし、仕事中でしたし、慌てました。結局、ショートメールでキャンセルしたい旨を文字で表せば　手続きしておきますと言われ、そのようにしました。 申し訳無いのですが、本当にボイラーが壊れたのかも、不審ですし、ちゃんと　キャンセルされて、キャンセル料発生してないのか不安のまま　今日に至ってます。　もう、ボイラーは直りましたか？ご夫婦で経営されてると思いましたが、話の内容は納得しましたが、本当は、迷惑をかけたと言う誠意をもっと文書なりで表して欲しいです。

• Pablo (10/5): Ideal hotel in Nikko - Really convenient hotel in a magnificient setting, quiet and relaxing. You will be warmly welcomed by Charles and his wife who are delightful and top level cooks ! I highly recommand.
• Chen (10/5): Awesome stay !!! - We had the best time! Charles made us feel just at home- a perfect homecooked dinner (and breakfast), some wine, the biggest room we had in Japan and just an overall great experience. The only downside is that it isn't in the city center, but Charles will pick you up and drop off whenever you schedule. It is a 7 minute drive. If we come back to Nikko we will stay here for sure.
• Pierre (10/5): Perfect sejourn. - Cosy accomodation. A small creek running in the back of the accomodation and relaxing sound is also helping omfor the magic of the location. The host are very friendly and helpful. 5 mn to a very nice and enchanting Onsen. I would definitely recommend this hotel to enjoy fully Nikko and the region.

• Ee Ting (8/5): Beautiful stay - This place has a homely feel. The owners are sincere and friendly. They are helpful and provided boiled water when I needed for my kid. There was one night, though, there seemed to be issue with the water heater. My family could not shower as the water was freezing cold. The front door knob was faulty. We feedback to the owners and they mentioned they will fix it.

• Hii (8/5): - 素朴なホテルです。従業員のご夫婦は良い方たちで、観光に関してアドバイスをしてくれます。ご主人が外国の方なので海外の方が多く泊まるとのことですが、わたしの時は日本人しかいませんでした。なので、肩身がせまいなんてこともなかったです。 ご飯は朝食のみですが、家庭的な味で美味しかったです！

• まぁ (10/5): - 初めてお世話になりましたが、オーナーご夫妻のウェルカムな雰囲気、素敵な笑顔にやられました。部屋が温まるまで暖房の効いたロビーで待機させてくれるなど、気遣いのあるお宿だなと思いました。翌日の観光場所を聞かれ、地元ならではの細かな情報（無料駐車場など）を教えていただき本当に助かりました！おかげさまで長い駐車場までの渋滞を体験せずに済みました‼︎日光旅行に行くなら又必ず利用させていただきたいです。川のせせらぎ、星の数。オーナーご夫妻のお気遣い、素敵な時間を過ごせました。ありがとうございました。

• Samuel (10/5): Family friendly place in Nikko - Family run inn, owners can't do enough to help and ensured I got to see everything I wanted to in Nikko. A little bit out of town but only 1200yen by taxi so this isn't a problem and Charles is always happy to pick you up or drop you off. Kirifuri waterfall 5minutes walk up the road.
• David (10/5): Comfortable Guesthouse in a Beautiful Location - The owner, Charles, and his wife provide excellent hospitality and a comfortable stay. The rooms are very clean, and the room we stayed in had the sound of the small river that runs by the hotel. The breakfast is superb, and the breakfast room with bay windows looks out onto beautiful woods. What a great experience.
• Sofi (10/5): Great place to stay - This is the hotel we will be coming back to when we go to Nikko again. The owners make this place and Charles is a wonderful cook. Its a little bit away from the Shrines in Nikko, but only a few minutes by car.
• TING KWOK (6/5): Hard working host - 管理方是一对夫婦，都很落力討好客人；可惜要照顧太多客人（我們是2/24入住一晚，早上2/25早餐时才發現至少有6对夫婦入住），沒有第三位工作人員协助。早晚餐都是西式的，因男主人是英國人（曾在英國海軍工作），份量很多，可能我們要求比較高，比較适合有預算的旅遊者。Obviously it is not easier for just a couple of husband and wife to manage everything to their guests without other employees. But this couple is working hard to try to satisfy their guests’ needs. Husband , a English gentleman, is responsible for free shuttle bus and meals preparation. Volume of meal is more than enough. Room size reasonable. Good for budgeted travelers.

• Takahashi (8/5): 自然に囲まれたゲストハウス - とても人柄の良い方が経営されており、安心できます。 設備の難点は、玄関の鍵の調子が悪く、壊してしまいそうで不安でした。 また降雪により、入口の坂道は冬用タイヤかチェーンが必要でした。 私は冬用タイヤを付けていたので問題なかったですが、皆さんご注意下さい。

The hotel is clean and comfortable with a very hearty western breakfast, located in a great natural spot walking distance to the Kirifuri falls. Free transfers to and from town inside the tropical minibus. Will definitely stay again if we return to Nikko!
• Grete (10/5): The go-to place in Nikko - Amazing hosts, so helpfull and kind! And wonderfull to fall asleep with the sound of the stream and wake up with birdsong and a deer grazing in front of the house! Lovely place!
• Karen (10/5): Excellent - Lovely. Very nice B&B: building in great condition, rooms spacious and clean. We were unable to have breakfast, but the choices looked delicious. Owners Charles and Yuka are excellent hosts -- he picked us up at the train station (even though they are on an easy-to-use bus route), treated us like family guests. I'd highly recommend staying with them.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Guest house by a stream - Located by the side of a stream in woodland about a 4 minute drive from both Nikko stations and a 5 minute walk to the Kiriyuri Waterfalls (well worth a visit). This is a large guesthouse run by the affable Charles and his wife Yuka, who is Japanese. They have been in charge for about 15 months and are steadily making improvements to the building. Our room was very large by Japanese standards, had an en suite and was very clean and comfortable. There is no central heating but there was an electric heater in the room and this was fine. Breakfast and an evening meal are available on request. Charles runs a shuttle service to and from the stations and will also give advice re the main tourist attractions and will take you there on request. Pick-up times in the evening are either 5.45pm or 8.15pm. This worked well for us. We had no problems paying by credit card and enjoyed our stay.
• Sofie Askholm (10/5): Nicest owners and cute hotel - Staying at the teddy bear house was a great experience! The couple that owns the hotel and their cute kids where the nicest people on earth and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as pleasant as it could be. I can't recommend if enough!
• Michael (8/5): Very friendly host - The guest house is out of town and located by a river that is pleasantly relaxing. The room was large (especially for Japan) but not particularly modern. It was clean except, strangely, for some fluff/dirt on one wall. The breakfast was fine: egg, sausage, toast, yogurt and a little fruit. There was plenty of coffee. Food was available in the evening with 24 hours notice. The guest house offered a shuttle after breakfast and then after dinner - which was very helpful but could be a little restrictive. The owner was very friendly and his Japanese wife extremely polite. Value for money is hard to judge with the plunging UK-Yen exchange rate.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Renovierungsbedürftiges Hotel! - Das Hotel liegt sehr ausserhalb von Nikko, aber es gibt ja einen kostenlosen Schuttelservice! Die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen, müßten mal renoviert werden? Essen war sehr gut!
