Guest Reviews
- Kanav (10/5): - Excellent host and location
- Kanav (10/5): - Excellent host & location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved my time at the Red Ski House. Kaori was great to talk with and was so helpful. She picked me up from Kutchan station, and dropped me off, and also took me to the post office so I could mail my ski boots back to the city. The house has everything I needed for the trip I was on: a 2 night, 3 day ski trip to Hirafu. The room was warm, had a ton of hooks and hangars for hanging up my clothes. They had a locked room in the basement to store ski gear, including a dry room for drying gloves and jackets. Because the shuttle bus was stopped for this season, she also dropped me off at the ski slopes. Finally, breakfast was good and filling, setting me up for the day. I'll definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hosts and super central. Breakfast was delicious.
- Kiyoshi (10/5): My new go-to - The Red Ski House is a fantastic B&B style lodge in the heart of Grand Hirafu. Andrew and Kaori provide an excellent, low-key, family style place to stay that's in a prime location. I felt like I was staying at a friend's house. Mere blocks from the main bars and restaurants in Hirafu, it offers a quiet retreat when you're ready to crash out and recover for the next day's epic powder turns. Plus, they provide a quality breakfast that really hits the spot before you head out for a day of skiing. I definitely plan to stay here again if I make it back to Niseko.
- Mark (10/5): Superb - Wow, was only here for 2 nights but wish I never left.
Kaori and Andrew are amazing people who really make you feel at home!
Bed was amazing and the room was overall good size.
Plenty of showers and space to get you going in the morning/evening.
At this price you cant ask for a more convenient location.
5/5 would definitely recommend and go again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 3 nights stay solo - On time pick up from the welcome centre. Owner initiated contacting me to make sure I am picked up upon arrival. Very considerate.
Room is clean and good heating
Mattress is very comfortable.
Breakfast is different every day with balanced nutrition. Home made. Made my day that way.
Some Australians mainly were staying there while I am and they are very nice people.
Shuttle bus stop to the slopes is right outside at the corne. Convenient. If walking, just 12 mins or so to the base where you find lifts up and ticket counter.
Shared toilet bathroom but clean and big.
Definitely would come back again! Andrew and Kaori are very nice.
Junior is their dog and he adds so much fun to my trip. He’s adorable.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Kaori and Andrew were very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay at the red ski house. The location is convenient close to the mountain base and restaurants. We hope to come back to niseko again.
- DucHoang-vietna (10/5): - Andrew and Kaori were super friendly and welcoming. Andrew pick us up and drop us off at the Kutchan station, which is 7km away from the house. Rooms were quite small but very cozy. Shared bathrooms are more than enough for us. Location is super, bus stop is right at the front. Would definitely recommend others to stay here
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A home away from home, so clean, breakfasts were superb and location for the town and skiing were great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very warm hosts, great breakfast, great location near ski shuttle, bars, restaurants.
- Jackson (8/5): - It was very nice providing homemade breakfast, very delicious!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Place was tidy and well kept. Owners were more then helpful and the free breakfast was always on point.
- Sylvia (10/5): Perfect stay! - Amazing stay and absolutely incredible hospitality!
The owners provide free transportation to / from the train and bus stations so it's super convenient. I got a fever on the way to Niseko, and the owners were nice enough to drive us to a drug store to pick up some medicine. Also let us do a late check out so that I could rest and recover more. Breakfast is also amazing. Can't recommend this place enough!!
- Daniel (10/5): Just what you need - Great guest house. Big clean rooms, comfortable beds, clean modern bathrooms, convenient ski storage. Hosts are friendly and welcoming and breakfast was good. Walk to anywhere even though there’s a shuttle stop on the corner. Ride to kutchan station was clutch. Thanks a lot Kaori and Andrew!
- Mark (10/5): Home away from Home - I had an amazing stay at The Red Ski House, like a home away from home where you felt part of the family rather than a bunch of folk doing their own thing. I will deffo book here again if I'm alone or with a group. Host family are vey chilled and friendly and add to your stay so don't hesitate!
I accidentally took my Room Key to my next hotel, Chalet Ivy, Where I left it for collection when any of you get a chance....sorry about that!
- Cheuk Ling (10/5): Excellent experience:) - Our stay in here was amazing! The owner was very polite and treated us well. The place exceeded our expectation! Highly recommended:)
