• Sherrie (9/5): - The setting is beautiful with natural surroundings and a lot of privacy. The host family are extremely kind and hospitable, we felt immediately at home. The open bathroom (no glass on the windows) was a new experience. It was clean and everything worked well, I only felt a bit scared to find an animal or insect in there by surprise, which didn't happen!

• Keira (9/5): - We felt as if we were in the jungle! Magical place right on the estuary. Lovely family. We had no problems with mosquitos, all beds had nets and every evening the hosts lit mosquito coils when we were sitting outside. Hot showers and good a/c. We were grateful for the shower gel and shampoo that was in the bathroom.as we had run out. Fridge and kettle in room. The kids loved the pool and breakfast was delicious. We were very appreciative of being able to buy a cold beer and crisps from them when we arrived, especially as they had cold beer glasses in the fridge! Great to watch the sunset from the beautiful seating area amongst the luscious trees and plants. Lots of wildlife, including kingfishers and of course the odd cockroach, remember you're in the jungle! We stayed for two nights and decided to stay in for an evening meal on the first night. It was a simple, but delicious, curry (one chicken and one potato). While there was plenty of food, we thought the price was too high at 2k per person (including children who eat far less). This was more than we had paid at other homestays and dissuaded us from eating there again on the second night. I think 1.5k for adults and 1k for children would have been fairer and comparable to other tourist places in Sri Lanka.

• Beatrijs (9/5): - Prachtige omgeving. Heerlijk zwembad. Perfecte plek om je reis te beginnen of zoals in ons geval af te sluiten. Het is echt vlakbij het vliegveld. En er wordt heerlijk voor je gekookt.
• Guest (8/5): Super verblijf voordat je weer terug naar huis vliegt! - Prachtige locatie, hele lieve familie, grote kamer en een geweldige ‘buiten badkamer’. Heerlijk aan het water en super dichtbij de luchthaven. Zwembad is ideaal! Aan het water liggen is natuurlijk prachtig, idyllisch en rustgevend. Minpuntje is alleen dat je vanaf één uur of 5 wordt opgevreten door muggen. Door je kleren heen bijten ze je mega bulten. Daarnaast zijn de buren aan het bouwen en gingen de drilboor en de hamer tot 23:30 door. Na twee keer vragen of het ajb kon stoppen duurde het nog een half uur voordat het stil en donker werd (bouwlamp recht op ons raam gericht). Op zich redelijk onhandig als je de volgende dag een vroege vlucht hebt. Super sneu voor de eigenaren van het prachtige Randoni; ik wens dat ze in de toekomst geen overlast gaan krijgen.

Good and proactive communication, organized the taxi service to the airport in the middle of the night - worked smoothly. They cooked a wonderful dinner just for us! It was lovely. Also the packed breakfast - an absolute treat! Nice pool in a lush jungleish setting - very beautiful. We recommend to stay here! Could have been a tiny bit more clean - but thats definitely top notch complaint....
• Gabriela (10/5): Amazing little oasis super near the airport, run by lovely people - Cannot recommend enough! Randoni Villa is super well located, just 15 min to airport. It’s a great spot, right next to the river, surrounding by lush trees and flowers with a great pool. The place is well looked after, rooms very clean, and the hosts are wonderful people- super welcoming, providing little details that make you feel really taken care of. The owner gave us lots of useful tips, and took care of us, while his wife and daughters served amazing home cooked meals. If anything, there are a lot of mosquitoes as the place is right next to the river, but you’re in Sri Lanka so you cannot avoid insects!

Based at the and of a dirtroad and the river side, full of green and birds. Nice pool to relax and cool down. Spacey rooms with private terrace and comfy beds. And extremely friendly and helpful staff/owners!

It’s very close to the airport, 15 mins by car, but heard very few planes. It’s very peaceful next to the river. The rooms are basic but comfortable, perfect for one night

• Roni (5/5): The pictures are nicer than reality - The rooms are very dark not enough light and no natural light at all, air conditioning was on 18c and couldn’t change it, it was freezing just above the bed with a thin blanket. The toilets and showers are open, loads of mosquitoes, flies and frogs.. and they don’t write it that it’s open. Hot water only when new guests arrives, if you stay for more than one night - you don’t have hot water unless someone else arrives. WiFi was not working but they fixed it after a couple of hours.. Location - very very far from any restaurant or a living thing.. Pool is small was dirty and pump not working, but they cleaned it for us when we arrived and put on the pump. The hosts were nice but they did not speak a lot of English was very hard to communicate and explain what we want, they did try to help us with anything we asked but at some point we felt uncomfortable because there were a lot of problems..
• Tracey (9/5): A little Oasis away from the airport but close enough to allow easy transfers. - We were looking for a place close to the airport just for the night to make things easier with our schedule. We arrived late and the hosts were amazing as they had already messaged to ask if we would like dinner. They prepared a great Sri-Lankan dish for us and it was very much enjoyed after our long day travelling in a downpour! The room was basic, but clean and huge. Shame on the weather as the location with a pool and next to a like was a little bit of tranquility near enough to the airport that I heard the distant sounds of a plane or 2 but close enough for a 20 minute early morning transfer. Great breakfast was also provided. They also sorted out a taxi for us to the airport that was just a few pound. My only very small hangup was the plug adapter provided was cheap and really not good (got hot and didnt work) BUT I am sure most people bring their own adaptors so I would recommend using your own.

• Kaja (7/5): Mixed feelings - The villa is close to the airport, set in a secluded spot above the river and surrounded by lush greenery. The host family prepares simple yet tasty lunch and dinner. They also offer airport transfer, but at a steep tourist price—nearly double the cost of a pickup. Our family room apartment appeared to be the most basic, both from the photos and our own experience, so we were dissapointed. The bathroom was open, which led to ants and spiders in that area, and we also encountered cockroaches in the bedroom—something to keep in mind if you are afraid of those. Location is also not optimal for small kids because of lack of open space to run freely.

• Victoria (10/5): A perfect last night stay in Sri Lanka - A hidden gem, and only 20mins from the airport! This small but beautiful guesthouse is in a stunning location alongside a river. The hosts were very caring and helpful, and cooked us a delicious dinner. Very comfortable bed, and the bathroom was huge. The swimming pool was lovely too, a refreshing opportunity to relax before a long flight home. It would be helpful to have more signs from the main road, we found it difficult to find and needed google maps to help! However local taxis/tuktuks knew the way..... The villa is quite isolated but for just an overnight stay, perfect.

• Clare (10/5): Perfect spot to unwind and relax that is close to the airport. Lovely hosts and scenery. - I stayed here for one night at the end of my 2 week trip so I could be close to the airport. The accommodations here were perfect. The setting is lovely, and it was so peaceful. The host family was so helpful and nice. The food they made was absolutely delicious. (I am vegan and they made sure I had plenty of amazing choices.) This was a wonderful transition from the busy tourist areas to coming home. Everything was lovely.

Arand and family were wonderful hosts and have created a beautiful little oasis and you could never imagine you were 15 mins from a major hotel and on the edge of a big city! Lovely relaxed feel to the Geoffrey Bawa inspired layout/design of the hotel. Some of the bed clothes could probably have been cleaner but otherwise the cleaning was very good in the rooms.

Very close to the airport too, would definitely recommend and will be staying again for our arrival and departure dates next time we come to Sri Lanka. Our room was cool and clean and we enjoyed a dip in the pool while talking to other travellers. The family cooked us a tasty meal before dropping us at the airport. Highly recommended as a first or last stop in Sri Lanka.

The owner, Ananda, has been a tour guide his entire life so he knows everything about Sri Lanka and is a living Sri Lankan encyclopedia. He helped us out so amazingly. Also the food that the family serves is delicious!!! Nothing at all. It was a great place to start our trip in Sri Lanka.
• Jo (9/5): Beautiful peaceful setting not far from the airport. - This special property is set in a beautiful, peaceful river side jungle setting but still only 20 mins from the airport. We loved the friendly family who run it and listening to the sounds of nature. We saw frogs, monkeys, squirrels. It is a bit of a difficult driveway to get down.
• Morten (9/5): Great little “jungle” stopover when arriving or leaving Lanka😃 - Great little stopover place close to airport. Not much to do in vicinity, but easy to take a trip to Negombo. Staff are very friendly and accommodating 👍 Fishing is mentioned as an activity on Booking.com, so we assumed we could fish the river. This was however not really possible as there was very poor access.
• Bruna (10/5): Perfect hidden gem if you need to stay close to the airport! - Very close to the airport, we just needed to relax before our flight. It was the perfect place for that.. a hidden gem in the middle of the nature, quiet, beautiful swimming pool, the kindest staff, they cooked us a delicious dinner, so we didn't even need to get out of the property for anything.. and the owner is also responsible for the airport transfer, so it was so easy to go to the airport early in the morning! Highly recommend this place! Nothing!

• Vanessa (10/5): A tropical gem, hidden away from view. Worth finding! - This is such a great spot, a hidden tropical treasure. Very close to the airport yet right on the river. Great food, lovely pool, very friendly host family. We stayed here at the end of our busy travels round Sri Lanka and it was a A perfect place to unwind, catch our breath before embarking on our journey home. Wish we could have stayed longer! We like it all. It’s a bit far out of Negombo if you are thinking of popping in, but still easy enough to access to Negombo.

• Bennet (8/5): Off the main road, this is a lovely and very welcoming guesthouse, close to the airport - Ananda made us welcome as soon as we arrived, and he offered me a lift to the airport late at night because I had a 3 a.m. flight. We tried to book an Uber instead because it was cheaper, but the driver never turned up. Ananda waited with us, after midnight, and even spoke to the Uber driver on our behalf, and he was completely professional and kind the whole time. We eventually gave up on the Uber driver and accepted Ananda's lift to the airport, and I was really impressed with his patience and professional behaviour, even when we were trying to arrange a service instead of his own. WiFi coverage in the room itself is quite weak, although it works in the lounge area outside the room The Randoni is down a side road and eventually a track, which seems to be some way off the main road. A couple of signs at the junction off the main road would be reassuring!
• Julia (9/5): A few relaxing days in paradise! - I spent 3 days here alone awaiting my husband’s arrival in Sri Lanka and immediately felt at home. I was very well looked after by Srimiti and her lovely daughters, enjoyed some really delicious home cooked food (coconut roti, dahl, pancakes stuffed with coconut and honey, fish curry) and relaxed by the pool and river with the sounds of nature all around. My room with ac, ceiling fan, mosquito net and a very comfortable mattress (unlike most beds in Asia which can be rock hard) all helped to ensure a good night’s rest. And as a nature lover I enjoyed the outdoor shower and bathroom. Many thanks to Anand, Srimiti and family for a wonderful stay, I was genuinely sad to leave, and will definitely stay again on my next trip to Sri Lanka. Highly recommended! Persistent mosquitoes! Only really a problem in the evening and to be expected given the riverside location. Mosquito coils, spray etc are provided to help minimise the annoyance.

• Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Such a picturesque setting on the river and the family who runs it are so lovely We stayed for 2 nights when we arrived in Sri Lanka and on the last day before home They can provide dinner in the evening and arrange transport to the airport via tuk tuk The buildings are a little bit rustic but that's the charm of the place Maybe a little off the beaten track but that's not a negative it's just to make you aware

• Nelly (10/5): Feeling relaxed as at home and getting a lot of support. - Our plane arrived late and we missed the first night. It was charged only 50%. We had excellent experience with the whole family who runs Randony villa. They made everything to make our stay relaxed and comfortable. Delcious breakfast and dinner! Anand did some shopping for us that was very kind and the last day he arranged the vehicle to Kandy. He also gave to us very precious advises and reccomendations, as we were for the first time in SriLanka. The place is very quiet and green with beautiful views of the river. We hope, we will stay again there.
• Ina (10/5): Very nice place, highly recommend! - Very nice location which does not feel like nearby the airport. Owners very helpful and accommodating, prepared unrequested lunch for our daughter, brought ice cream in the evening. Breakfast was arranged early in the morning when in standard hotel you would not get any (4:30 am). Also they performed our transfer to airport. Peaceful place to rest before the flight. We liked all, no bad things. For development they could arrange dinner.
• Xin (9/5): Homey place and warm hosts - very friendly hosts. The place is simple but homey. We arrived late afternoon, about 15min drive from airport, and just in time to watch sunset. Had simple but tasty dinner. Breakfast was good too. A perfect start of our trip. My elder parents like it too. It's close to nature so there are quite a lot of ants in the property, but we don't mind at all.
• Andy (9/5): Great place to introduce you to Sri Lanka near the airport - Very friendly hosts, comfortable rooms, there was a pool but we weren’t there long enough to use it unfortunately. Delicious breakfast. Wonderful introduction to Sri Lanka, so pretty by the river and amongst the trees. Great location near the airport if you’re arriving late like we did.
• Annie (10/5): Exceptional - We arrived late from airport and they stayed up to greet us and show the room. We left early, they made an amazing little breakfast for us. Randoni Villa is the perfect place to stay after a long flight. Close to the airport but super tropical and lovely pool. We will return before we take our flight home.
