Guest Reviews
- Chai chin (4/5): - The staff handling enquires through Expedia is the only saving grace of this hotel. She was most helpful to my enquiry to buy long distance bus tickets.
Of course i understand that I am paying a budget price but to have baby cockroaches crawling out of the crevices in table in the room is petrifying, dirty and scary. And the ceiling walls of the toilet is dark, stained and moldy. Dinner menu was limited and we waited nearly an hour for a simple meal of rice with chicken. Oh my goodness, 1 hour!
I am glad to stay one night only. Will not recommend if you are looking for comfort and cleaniless.
- YEJI (2/5): - I didn’t (Couldn’t) stay this hotel becuase they lied to me.
I was supposed to stay 1 night, But I realized the train was delayed more than 24 hours. I asked them changing the date one day ahead, also told them I don’t have internet so can’t change on the app my self. they said “no problem”.
But when I arrived at 11PM, the reception woman who is very rude told me I need to pay one more night. even the reason is changed everytime when they were saying. (first the expidia cancled, second I didn’t call them at the same day again, third it is expired, last one is thet don’t have a room 😂)
I tried to explain, But the woman just disapear. If they said they can’t change the date first time, I would book another accomodation of course. There havior looks just want to get more money. that’s all.
Also they said “there is china” definitely racism as well. Even I am not from china. They think all asian is from china. So silly.
- Edgar (10/5): - The place was perfect
- Kalaba (8/5): - Closer to the down town and main bus stations
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable place to stay - Friendly receptionists and super clean and comfy room. I would not hesitate to book a room here again if I return to Lusaka.
This hotel is great for people arriving late or leaving early by bus, since the central bus station is only a 5-minute taxi ride away and there are always taxis just around the corner from the hotel's front door.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Well, usually I'd say you can't expect too much for that prize and that might be true. However, even though our room was newly renovated the toilet kept on running and the room smelled so much like colour that we thought we had gotten a toxic shock by the time it was morning. Nevertheless, breakfast was provided and the location is indeed very central.
- Dan (8/5): - It appeared this hotel was getting a major upgrade while I was there. We were placed in one of the new rooms, which were very nice. There was construction noise during the day (which might be finished now) but staff was friendly and responsive. The location is within walking distance (about 15-20 minutes) to the bus terminal. There's also a pedestrian bridge nearby so you can avoid crossing the busy main road. For a budget option near the city center, I would stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff are very good, the owner was welcoming and you feel home
- Verified traveler (8/5): - In a city where hotel rooms go for high prices, this hotel succeeds to keep it’s rates low. You get what you pay for, a simple clean room and private bathroom with hot water.
For breakfast you get one egg sandwich and coffee/tea.
The hotel is conveniently located, close to the intercity bus terminal. The manager is extremely helpful, and I found staff to be kind.
It would be unfair to compare this hotel to more expensive hotels from other price ranges, this hotel does a good job in its own segment. Have a good sleep!
- VALERIE (8/5): Good location and great dinner - Location is perfect if you would like to take intercity bus. The dinner with room service is so yummy!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Comfortable bed and towels, great location, very dilapidated bathrooms. Good value for money but certainly nothing special
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The beds were decent, the hotel is well located near to the bus station, and it’s clean enough. I’m satisfied. Thanks.
- James (6/5): It was Ok - It was ok. Right downtown...cheap and some shopping around.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Toilet broke - The toilet was broke and I paid to have laundry done but it wasn’t done after two days and they asked me to cancel my bus to wait for laundry to be done. I said no they they gave me we clothes. Apparently they don’t believe in bringing laundry inside when it rains and if rains everyday then laundry doesn’t dry.
- jjb (4/5): - Good location and price. Nasty rooms.
- david (8/5): - This was within walking distance of city markets and food shops and bus station, and across the street from a small shopping plaza with banks and many shops. For the price and location for the backpacker or continue traveler it was great. The room had cold and hot water, yet the bed was past its prime, although did sleep well, surprisingly. Breakfast was passable yet local breakfast for local travelers as I seen later at Bus Station.
- Terrea (2/5): - The pictures of the room are very deceiving. There was dirt all over the walls and the bathroom was gross. Advertised hot water but no hot water. Had a fridge in the room that didn't work. Ceiling fan was so loud it felt like it was going to fall off. The only thing good about this place was the staff.
- Sara (8/5): Everything you need at good price - This place is great, especially because of the amazingly helpful staff. Amy, one of the receptionists, went above and beyond to help me out with a range of issues from regusterunf my sim card to organising taxis and bus tickets. Nothing was too hard for her. The rooms are small and simple but have tv, shower, windows, bathroom and comfy beds. What more do you need? Other backpackers places have shared facilities, these rooms are totally private. Also, there is a pizza place and burger shop right across the road, plus a pharmacy, bank and some shops. It is so convenient and not too deep into Lusaka, so easy to get to and from the airport with out crazy traffic! Highly recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (4/5): The hotel is very close to the center of Lusaka. - The staff at the crown inn. Is what really makes the difference. The Wi-Fi in the hotel only works in the lobby and is very slow.
- Muna (4/5): Well positioned hotel at the heart of Lusaka - Terrible no hot water, alot of cockroaches, some friendly staff some not, water pump makes noise through stay, alot of dusty, poor continentalbreakfast, no teas in rooms, poor connection Wi-Fi.
