Guest Reviews
- Julie (3/5): not clean and almost in ruins, it was dirty - it was in front of the beach. The staff was kind The food was bad and rotten
- Juliane (7/5): Beautiful view to the ocean...but... - It is directly next to the Playa Grande which is really great - you have direct access to the beach and a great view to the ocean. This is absolutely beautiful... nothing else to add. Chala is small, you can reach the other small beach, small shops and restaurants easily by walking. The lady from the reception was very friendly, helpful and doing everything there. The hotel is a bit "run down", also the breakfast was very small, shower was not working properly...well I was the only guest at that time. Everything would be fine if the price were lower and adapted to the conditions!
No había agua caliente.
- Yelithza (6/5): Comfy beds, good breakfast and helpful staff. Not suited for a long stay. Run down place - Helpful staff and very good breakfast Run down place, it’s actually on sale so seems like they’ve decided to let it go. Structure needs love.

- Michael (2/5): Worst hotel! Avoid it! - The only good thing about the hotel is the nice view from the small balcony over the sea. The rest was just a disaster:
- In my bed were lots of bed bugs. I got bitten all over. This explains the bad smell I had when first entering the room - it was from a spray against bugs, what I figured out later. Unfortunately it didn't get rid of the bugs.
- NO WiFi in the room.
- No power socket in the room. Only one in the bathroom.
- Extremely low water pressure.
- Be aware: NO SAFE PARKING! They have a parking space right beside the hotel. But the gate is wide open, and the receptionist refuses to lock the gate. Only after requesting several times to have the gate locked, he locked it at 11pm. The hotel is directly at the PanAm. So everybody walking or driving by can go in the parking lot. From the reception it is impossible to see the parking lot. And no light in the parking lot. So easy for anybody to sneak in.
- Rooms look very old and outdated.
This hotel is a 3 star hotel? I would not even give it one star. Extremely bad value for your money.
So: don't go there!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great view from the small balcony off the room. Good for a one night stopover on our way to Arequipa. Not a whole lot to do in the main town, find your way to the beach front in Chala. Beware of live music on the beach on Saturday nights.
- Aparecido Pedro (6/5): Hotel regular - Hotel bem localizado, mas, deixa a desejar.
Personal sprach kein Englisch
Frühstück überschaubar mit abgezählten Brötchen
- Bryce (6/5): Watch sunset - Problems with wifi. Restrauant? Ocean view. Locate on Google maps as Meridan Playa Grande on Panamerican
- Hans (4/5): Bad - The price and the view to the open sea is great however the rest is a desaster. It's a very noisy Hotel as directly located at the Panamerica. Only after asking we got a very limited breakfast. Go there only when you have no other choice. We used it to break our trip frpm Arequipa to Nazca.
- whit (6/5): Balcony overlooking the ocean - We loved the balcony overlooking the ocean and the sound of crashing waves. The towel that we had to share was soft and nice. Breakfast was some rolls and a fried egg for each of us, and instant coffee. The staff was nice.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There was only one towel, and still when we asked for a second. Little water and sometimes no water. The staff next morning did not know we had already paid. It took them Some time to find out. The location of the hotel is very good, near the beach and the panamericana.
- Kiat (8/5): Nice hotel right on the beach - Our room had a great view of the beach - we could watch the sun set from our balcony. Breakfast was average. The staff are accomodating enough - they let have a late checkout as we were catching a night bus at no extra cost.
