• Shuma (9/5): - 料理が一品一品丁寧に作られており、たいへん美味しかったです。 キンキの煮付けが一日目と二日目で違う味付けで出されたのにはびっくりしました。 温泉は大浴場の他に貸切風呂が二つあり、ゆっくり入ることができました。 ラウンジには様々なものが展示されており、食事や入浴後などに利用するのに楽しめました。 そこに置いてある地元の写真家？さんの写真アルバムがとても素晴らしく必見だと思います。 色々な種類の紅茶が自由に飲めるようになっているのでたびたび利用させていただきました。 また、二日目に外出する際に、家族三人分のおやつ（流氷グミ）をいただきました。
 随所におもてなしの心が感じられ、気持ちよく二泊三日を過ごせました。 また、違う季節に訪れたいと思います。

Car could not go under the front canopy as there were other cars parked and blocked the way. When I checked out, it was raining, and we got wet when loading the luggages and entering the car.

There is no elevator so moving luggages in/out to the room on the second floor is a little workout. The onsen is nothing special.

As of all accommodations in Japan.. The basin are installed a tag too low. Struggle to wash face as it's rather cramp. But understandable given it's a ryokan.
• Sarah (10/5): A lovely stay - kagariya is next to the coral grass field. I spent a lovely afternoon and morning in the field. I like the feel of this Japanese hotel. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. Highly recommended the place is not convenient for non- drivers. I spent over an hour to wait for the bus.

Although we have booked on the same day and arrived late, staff welcomed us and prepared amazing dinner taking into consideration our food restrictions. (vegan/ vegetarian friendly) It's super quiet, we had a great sleep. The view from the window is amazing with nature and lake around. We happened to arrive at the season when the plants at the lake turn red, very beautiful. The dinner was very delicious, they also have a selection of local craft beers you can add to your meal for extra price.

A shame we couldn't stay a third night!

• Joey (9/5): Traditional ryokan with Great Lake views - Mixed style rooms overseeing the lake. Great and fresh ingredients for both dinner and breakfast! Truly enjoyed the stay! No lift so would not recommend to bring heavy luggage 😅 Private onsen experience will require additional charges.

• Lay (7/5): Other than the bathroom, we were happy with the stay - Staff were very friendly and efficient. The dinner and breakfast included in the stay was good Bathroom was small and the sink was tiny and very low, making it difficult to use.

• Lingling (7/5): Overall is good but few things could be improved - Breakfast & Dinner were fabulous! The quality of the food (especially the Shabu Shabu) was fantastic. The view from our room was exactly as I expected, nice lake view as shown on the photos. Bathroom was too small. It would not hurt to put in a decent vanity (e.g. something larger than a palm size) so water doesn't splash out when someone tries to do a quick washup in the morning. Food was great but we've been assigned to the same corner table with no window views for both breakfast & dinner...this is not cool when all other guests enjoying the outside view but we had to eat facing the walls.

• Goh (10/5): An amazing enjoyable ryokan experience in Abashiri. - Very nice cosy traditional ryokan. Good location with view of Lake from room. Amazing service provided by the Staff who can speak a bit of English. Delicious Kaiseki dinner. Onsen is abit small but understandable as this is a small ryokan.

• Sim (9/5): One of the best Ryokan meals ever! - The meals (both dinner and breakfast) served at the restaurant were exceptional, we were extremely grateful to the staff for accommodating our daughter’s vegetarian dietary needs even though we did not inform the hotel in advance. They also promptly changed our room once we noticed that the air condition unit was not working. Our special thanks to the mangers at the front desk for their excellent service. For those traveling with the elderlies, please be mindful that this traditional Japanese guest house does not have elevators and guests need to climb up the stairs to access the guest rooms.

We booked the private bath and it’s totally worth it - relaxed our body and mind in the hot tub! And dinner spread is fabulous and tasty! Highly recommended. Nothing about the property but will be good if the front line staff can improve their English :)

Thank you so much for everything! :) They do have a free onsen, but the pretty, semi-outside ones are 1100¥. (They are lovely though)
• Brian (10/5): Perfect spot for a Christmas getaway in Hokkaido. - Our second visit! Love the private bath, amazing meals, and friendly staff! Some facilities are showing their age and could use some maintenance, but nothing too bad.
• Tedlee1961 (9/5): If you want to experience a Japanese Ryokan, this is the one with reasonable price. - Location was great. Food was great. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Facility is a little outdated. They alway burnt a incense which is a little awkard scent.
• Joan (10/5): Lovely ryokan next to the coral grass lake - Great location for viewing the coral grass. We had a spacious room with a lake view. We arrived during very wet and windy weather and the coral grass was under water, but it reappeared next morning. During the wet weather, there were flocks of herons visible from our room. The kaiseki dinner was excellent with plenty of fresh fish. We stayed for 3 nights and it was different every day. The room had a private toilet but the bathroom was shared. We had no trouble booking one of the private onsen for a small additional charge each day. I recommend a car for this location because it is not near the station. I would prefer an ensuite bathroom.
• Lesley (7/5): Older property with kinki cuisine - Excellent location and meals. A staff member helped me carry my medium size luggage up the stairs. All the staff were kind but English was limited. The room we stayed in was probably one of the older rooms needing a refresh. The bed was hard and there was a mix up with the meal plan, I had changed (confirmed) the meal set via Booking.com chat but the original meal was served. A little disappointed but the food was still good. At checkout, we had to rectify the extra charge for the meal set that wasn't serve which wasn't a problem

• G (10/5): Fabulous kaisei dinner - The kaisei dinner was fabulous, actually the best one we had in one month of travelling around Japan. Possibility of a private onsen. Very enjoyable :) The rooms are a bit dated.

• Irene (4/5): Disappointing - The dinner had good fresh seafood, that is all we like. Food would be more enjoyable if there can be some explanation on the menu, like a written note on the specialties. Staff do not speak english. The rooms had a musty smell and quite outdated. We had 2 rooms: the double room had very thin mattresses and was not comfortable at all. The shower shelf was held on by tape in that room. We paid quite a lot for the outdoor onsen room. The window screen was about to fall off, if pulled down just a little harder, and there was quite a bit of mould on the ceiling above the onsen tub. Of all the hotel stays for our 12 days in Hokkaido, this was most expensive and disppointing
