- Verified traveler (2/5): Caution stay away! Online photos are not recent! - OYO Hotel Brownsville TN I-40 is in terrible shape as a place to stay. The woman who greeted me was nice no problem with her personally. I booked my room online & when i got there it wasn't available because they sold it. There's roaches & bugs. The smoke alarms beep continously I'm guessing the batteries are dying in the bedroom. The bathroom smoke alarms are ripped off the walls. There's holes in the ceiling, mold & mildew growing in the rooms. The air is damp & mattresses are dirty. The pipes in the showers are loose & not secured. The tables & microwave is sticky. I have alot more to say & pictures but im running out of characters.

- Tammy (2/5): - Cancelled my reservation for "overbooking". I gave them 2nd chance and they did it again. They bump reservations for people coming to desk and paying cash for rooms.
- LD (2/5): Denied a room to elderly Grandparents. - Arrived with a copy of my confirmed reservation at approximately 7:00 to 7:30pm. Fully paid for at the time of our online reservation, which I had a copy with me. I was denied the room. I was told it was cancelled. NOT TRUE. My husband and I are of a certain age. We had just driven 550 miles that day. We just wanted a bed, before we completed our 1160 mile trip the next day.
- cathy (2/5): Horrible - I arrived on location to check-in ~ Was told by property manager that my reservation had been canceled. I never received any kind of noticed that my reservation was canceled from hotels.com or anyone. My booking was still showing my reservation was still active on the app. I was supposed to pay upon arrival in the amt of $188 for 2 night stay. Instead the property manager stated my reservation had been canceled,but they could still accommodate me with another room,but i was charged $265 for the accommodation. The room was filthy! TV didnt work,and there were items left in shower. Broom and dusk pan was also left in room. Refrigerator not work..dusty furniture along with a film of some sort on windows and glass.

- Fred (2/5): - They acknowledged I had a confirmed reservation through Expedia, but when I arrived at 7:00 PM they said there were no rooms available and that my reservation had been canceled that morning because they “didn’t have any rooms” and that they couldn’t contact me because they don’t get contact info from Expedia. Terrible, terrible, terrible, didn’t even apologize - don’t trust- stay away from this place!!!
- Kathryn (4/5): - Got to the property to be told my booking was supposedly canceled but there was nothing on my end through Expedia, and I had already paid with no refund either. The guy that the front desk said he had no rooms and my reservation was canceled and I should have my money back. But then I showed him it wasn’t canceled on my side.. he then proceeds to tell me he can show me one room he has and walks me to the room. It’s the exact room that I had booked, yet I was supposedly canceled.. the property only had this one room on the property that had a jacuzzi tub in the room.. he then says I could have this room but it would be $145 cash. I said why do I need to pay cash when this is the room I booked and I paid only $116 for it. He said 145 cash because my listing is canceled and their card machines and everything is apparently broke… I contacted Expedia to let them know what was going on and got my refund. Seeing as I was 5 hrs from home and all other hotels were actually booked I talked the guy down on the room and paid cash, but not until I made sure I got my refund from initial payment… the room was gross and dirty, exposed wires from lighting above the sink, the jacuzzi had the controls ripped out of it so it didn’t work. Their pool was now a concrete slab, two of the 3 lights in the room didn’t work. It reaked of cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking room. Just awful.. place is super shady and just gross! Will never stay here again

- Edward (2/5): Room cancelled at arrival - We booked the motel a month in advance. four days before checking in I received an email confirmation from the motel and a "how's your trip going" email from Hotels.com. The day before our stay I was texted about a refund with no explanation. When we arrived at the motel I was told our reservation was cancelled because they had weekly reservations and no rooms were left for us. The day after our supposed stay I received an email asking about our stay! After seeing what the property looked like, I am almost they cancelled. The motel looks like it is geared mostly for weekly construction workers. Rebooking another motel at the last minute cost me more.
- Pamela (4/5): - Customer service was great .. my room was clean. But there was a gap in the door where light was coming in. Commode needed cleaning inside and out. Walls need paint. There was dust all over the air conditioner vents. I wiped part of the down by the bathroom sink. Shower curtain needs to be changed. Also my room was suppose to be non-smoking. There was an ashtray with cigarette residue in it.

- Terry (2/5): - I was told i could get a different room because i was coming into early. Was not informed that I would have to pay extra for this. The front desk was training someone when i arrived. She informed me of the extra charge I paid it. They took my drivers license to make a copy and never returned it to me. I did not realuze this until i was getting ready to go get something to eat and inform the front desk that i had just killed several roaches. The gentleman at the front desk said he was sorry never once mentioned trying to comoensate me for this. But she added it to bill. I know this because when i looked at my booking site it was 10 dollars more. I paid this fee at the hotel. The room was not clean. Sheets had marking on them and there was hair on the floor. Once again I killed several roaches in the room was not compensated for this. There were no other rooms they could put me in for this inconvenience. Poor management unclean and unsanitary rooms. I will never stay at this establishment again. Nor will recommend it to anyone else. Im still having to pay for a room not suitable to sleep in. Would have went somewhere else but did not have the funds. Wish i had taken photos. Rm # 110

- Erik (4/5): - The places advertising your hotel should have updated pictures, Mention Construction. Pool non existant as its been slabbed over with concrete? Also i selected and requested a non smoking room and the decorative blanket had burn holes... and an ash tray? Not All the lights work. Jacuzzi in room, some jets need fixing. Hair in the bed, and a sheet for a blanket... Small tv for a suite i was too tired to do a thorough lookthru. Only positive thing were the minor interaction with staff, they seemed nice. And the walls seemed pretty soundproof.

- Linda (6/5): Beware: cheap comes at a price - The towels were stained, one of the workers used our toilet and left sketch marks. The entire place was under renovation, outside and inside which we did not learn until we pulled into parking lot. Will never return!!

I walked into the hotel and was told they had no rooms left, that my booking was not valid and they would cancel my booking. They said this happens all the time. I am still fighting with Hotels.com over this issue.

- Terri (2/5): - Terrible service, we stayed 3 nights and they gave us two bath towels , one hand towel and two wash rags for two people for 3 nights. No Kleenex . They did not clean the room or bring us anymore towels etc . We had no soap . Door has 1 inch gap along bottom ( no weather stripping- or door sweep) and the sides also , You can see outside and we had water from the rain come in the room and had to use one of our bath towels! The bathtub / shower was filthy and the floor was not mopped and the base of the toilet was filthy. The mirror over the sink was so dirty you couldn't see, we had to use a washrag and towel to clean it. The bathroom light over the shower had no globe and open socket ! The toilet seat did not fit the toilet as it was an elongated toilet with a round seat. Bulkhead above the sink was open and you could see the cement floor above and they had plastic bags plugging the holes. Every corner of the room had dirt , bugs and was awful. We had a king bed that had a queen top sheet that was too small as was the comforter. The manager, and two supposed cleaners and they clearly do not know how to clean and rude. After the first night we asked to move to different room if it was cleaner etc..they showed us the room next to the one we were in and it was just as bad as ours , so we didn't move. It was a horrible stay and will never go there again. Oh and our room smelled like pot ! Hotel is maybe a 1 star at best.
- nita (2/5): Awful awful awful - I don't often leave reviews unless my experience is awesome or awful. The gentleman that checked me in was very nice, and the bed was comfortable, but that is all that was good about this 1 night stay. Room 105: No door lock to keep door from opening from the outside (The one that only allows the door to open a couple of inches) No TV remote. TV was just leaning against the wall and the on/off control was to plug and unplug it. No tissues in the room. Sink leaked badly. Felt the water splashing on my feet when I had the water running. Only 2 very thin pillows on a king size bed. Most hotels usually have 4. Cleanliness of bedding was questionable. And peeling paint and/ or wallpaper was bad. Don't stay here unless you just need to sleep really bad. I had never heard of this hotel chain, and I won't stay at another one!

- William (2/5): Worst room in more than 25 years of housing. - We arrived about 8:30 PM, and the office was closed, but there was an attendant on duty who registered us. We went to the room. List of things that resulted in the rating we gave the room: some lights didn't work; there was a dead roach on the toilet; the mattress was really hard, there was a queen-sized sheet on the king-sized mattress. The TV controller didn't work; the only king room left was one with a jacuzzi, which we did not use. Whole room needed a makeover.

- Susan (2/5): Stay away, go next door - My room was full of roaches, bodily fluid stains and cigarette burns on the blanket. Random plastic bits all in my sheets. Holes in the wall, damage and stains on every surface. I asked for a refund after I turned the lights off and roaches started crawling on me. Was accused of either using the room to do drugs or meet prostituetes in. That for $65 I should not expect a clean room - that is a $100+ room. Had to pay $90 next door for a room and it was the best nights rest I have had in a while. No issues. Only $25 more. No reservation.

Just a very bare bones basic hotel, not nice but the sheets and towels were clean the room was ok, and the lady at the front desk was nice and it serves it's purpose. Also there is no breakfast. I saw that somewhere it claimed to have breakfast, so I just wanted to clear that up.
- Nikki (4/5): Needs fixin up - For starters, the pool did not look appealing. The room had dust piled up on the night stands. Electrical outlets near sink and mirror did not work. The pillows were flat. The ceiling at paint peeling bad. Really needs some work done to fix it up.
- Stephanie (4/5): Rude staff and Noisy - When I arrived to check in, I was not greeted or even given a smile. The front desk employee looked very frazzled and irritated. When I asked about the pool I was told that it wasn't opened yet. When I got to the room there was no toilet paper and the bath tub was dirty. The hotel was located next to the highway (which I knew) but the noise level was unacceptable. The curtains did not properly close and the outside lights illuminated our room the whole night. When I checked out the next morning, the doors to the front desk was locked and that is when I decided to get out of there very quickly.

There were several room lights out, and though we told the management about them and asked the bulbs be replaced, they were not. We did ask the maid staff for extra towels and were given them.
