- David (6/5): - This was my first stay at a hostel. My expectations were pretty low so I was not disappointed. Instructions received at check-in were clearly communicated. Sleeping accommodations were very basic as expected. Two issues during my visit. 1. The noise.... it was continuous all night long and other guests were noisy in the room even during quiet hours.2. Returned to my area for my second night and found someone was asleep in my bed. I contacted the staff and they reassigned me to another dorm next door. Looking back over my overall experience, I probably would not do it again.

- Sharlene (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE!!! 0/10!!! My belongings were destroyed by the hostel owner!!! Upon check in, a staff member offered to change my room after noticing and agreeing to obscene bacterial smell from assigned room. The next day in the new room, I return to hostel to find all of my belongings stuffed in a trash bag and destroyed by my make up and liquid toiletries being dumped inside the trash bag. I contacted the owner on his cell phone, he admitted to putting my belongings in trash bags. He also stated he became aware that the staff member moved my room and I was allowed to remain in the room. I asked him why didn't contact me before destroying my things and once he realized his staff member made a mistake why didn't he remove the liquid toiletries and my clothes out of he bag to avoid damage? He didn't even apologize. Due to the damage to my clothing I had to leave New Orleans early 2 days before my birthday. It was a terrible experience.

- Charles (10/5): Serene and clean in New Orleans - Rustic elegance in a diverse community. Quiet neighborhood, but has lively bars. Within walking distance to the french quarter, but away from the noise and crowds. The hosts are responsive, nice and helpful.

You can hear and smell everything. The owner was not responsive to my complaints and left a cell number that doesn’t seem to be active. It’s an awesome house, it was really clean, but I wouldn’t stay here again. I should’ve gone to a hotel.
- alaa (2/5): - I stayed at this hostel during my recent trip, and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. The issue stemmed from the behavior of the receptionist, who openly expressed Zionist views. As a Lebanese guest, I felt deeply uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout my stay, especially when my nationality was brought into the conversation. Rather than fostering an inclusive and safe environment, the receptionist’s attitude made me feel unsafe and on edge during my entire time at the hostel. A place of accommodation should prioritize creating a neutral, respectful space for travelers from all backgrounds, but this was not the case here. This experience significantly impacted my trip, and I cannot recommend this hostel to anyone seeking a welcoming and respectful stay. I urge management to address this issue seriously and ensure their staff maintain a professional and inclusive attitude towards all guests.

The girl at the desk was so rude with a horrible attitude! Her personality was real non professional. She do not need to be working with the public.

Well located one block off St. Charles streetcar line, close to local restaurants and Mardi Grad parade route. Volunteer staff person (Maelle) was particularly delightful and helpful.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Hostel for price and location - Robert and Lucy (the owners) were there along with a great staff of employees from all over the world. I enjoyed hearing their stories and remembering the years when I was young and traveled as an education. I have stayed at this hostel before, but this is the first trip since Covid took over. Their cleanliness was spot on and interaction with staff for everything I needed for a Voodoo tour was provided. Recommend a stay here for its location and staff.

Location was good for someone who wanted to walk around, but didn't want to be in the French Quarter. Building was older, fairly typical for NOLA, and a little cold on a chilly night. Mattress was thin. I was worried about noise at night, but it was very quiet in the third floor private room. Visitors were a good range of ages. Overall, I would recommend this to others.

When I first stayed there during Holloween it didnt mattered. Because I was there around Holloween they allow me to stay that weekend. The point is, if Louisiana residents are not allowed to stay at the hostal, it should be mentioned on the hostal's or hotels.com website.

Loved the nightly visits of places to see where the memeber of staff was the team leader.gathering in the patio before the outing was excellent idea. Although a bit off putting when in early hours of the morning you are awoken by the noisy revelers!!. Kitchen was spotless and a pleasure to cook in it. On a whole a lovely place to stay and very central for downtown etc.

The bed was old and it's pretty hard to have a good rest since more than one person leave their alarm on for more than ten minutes from 3 AM to 7 AM. Don't think will be back again. And the smell of sweat in the room was a great problem for the owner to address. The bathroom was OK but the water flow is not good enough for a shower and you need to wait up to 3 minutes for the warm water.
- P Jack (10/5): Very nice hostel - reasonable and convenient - I was considerably older than the 20-somethings there at the same time, but I was accepted and included in the activities to the extent I could do so. My trip was "business", in that I was attending the IRS tax forum for my annual CPE credits. I was also able to have dinner with a very good friend who had moved to NOLA from Houston. This is the second time I have stayed here. Both times were excellent..

- Dee (10/5): - The property is really beautiful. The rooms are secure and the beds are comfy. There are clean linens for you to have and every toiletry but tooth burhses. You will have a group activity every evening that is optional for you to partake in locally. There are two house pets a cat that really stays on the porch and a Chinchilla. Very easy to get to ny public transportation with local eateries and it's close to tourist areas. The property can assist you with booking tours and they are very helpful. I had a late check in which I was taken care of and a tour was booked for me that evening. I really enjoyed the breakfast too which is self serve and self prepared in a wonderful location which is attatched to a outdoor area with lawn chairs tables grills and a chair/swing. I loved my stay and will stay here again when I return. I met some awesome musicians that were also staying at this location.

- TS (8/5): - The hostel was nice and the staff was friendly. If you want to party this is a good place. The only complaints I have were the extremely squeaky metal bunk beds that would make noise if you barely moved an inch and the lack of water pressure in the showers. Fix those and it would be an A from me.

- Claudio (10/5): Amazing hostel - The place is very clean. Close to a tram line that takes you to canal Street and the French quarter. Plenty of restaurants around. This is a party hostel but it's totally ok if you just want to do your own thing. Very nice environment all around. The crowd is mostly in their 20s and maybe early 30s but they don't discriminate. Just make sure you understand what to expect. Two fully equipped kitchens. One large media room with a projector and sound system. One computer room. Another smaller media room with a large screen tv and a PS3. Good WiFi everywhere. Social activities every day. The beds are comfortable with good mattresses and good storage areas underneath. Very clean towels. Breakfast with good coffee. I ended up extending my stay. One of the nicest hostels I've ever been to and cleaner than many hotels.
- Helen (10/5): Pleasant hostel, but dangerous neighborhood - Pleasant hostel, always clean, friendly staff, many activities all week long. Unfortunately, the hostel is in a sketchy neighborhood that feels very dangerous to walk in alone (or even with a partner) after dusk. Also, the hostel page stated that it provided shampoo and soap in the shower rooms; however, this was misleading, as basic hand soap was provided, and some guests left their hair care products behind, but the facility itself did not provide them.

- Agustin (10/5): Best hostel in NO - Best experience in hostel in US so far. Staff people were super friendly and helpful and the activities hosted to interact with co travelers were amazing. Definitely I'll visit NO and will stay here soon.
