Guest Reviews
- Kelly (8/5): Perfect Family Holiday Apartment - Perfect location for a young family to enjoy on the edge of Temple Bar without being in the hustle and bustle of the city.
The apartment was very clean and functional.
An issue with initial access to the apartment was dealt with swiftly and professionally.
The staff are great, friendly and easy to talk to.
- Aaron (8/5): - We chose this apartment for its proximity to Temple Bar. We were a family of four staying here for a few nights.
Pros:
Great location and very walkable to many restaurants and bars.
There's a separate living room and bedroom.
Looks out over the river.
The rental company was pretty responsive and our room was ready early when we arrived.
Has a washer/dryer combo.
Cons:
It was noisy at night and kept up the two people sleeping in the living room on the foldout couch.
There's no AC. We didn't realize this when booking it. It wasn't too hot when we stayed but it's definitely a consideration if it's the height of summer.
The washer and dryer didn't dry our clothes. We watched the demo video the rental company had on the app but the washer we had didn't match the one in the video and the controls didn't make sense.
While there was plenty of room, there wasn't much space to sit down other than on the foldout couch and bed. We weren't in the room a lot, though, so it was fine.
- Andrew (8/5): - Apartment was well placed for Temple Bar re pubs and restaurants. Within walking distance for a Dublin Castle, Guiness factory and other local sights. The apartment was perfect for our needs and stay.
- michael (10/5): - It would have been perfect had we been able to figure out how to dry our clothes. Ever option selected just washed them again. It seemed so easy but nothing worked
- Richard (10/5): - Great location to anything. Easy to get to the train to travel around. Several shopping centers in walking distance. Dozens of great restaurants and pubs.
- Tanya (8/5): - The property was central for a visit to the heart of Dublin. We did have an issue with the self check in but the people at city break were helpful in sorting it.
- Jack (2/5): Hole in the roof! Wind and rain ruined trip - Whole in the roof
- Rebecca (6/5): - Stayed in apartment 2. Location was perfect! Accomodation was EXTREMELY tight for a family of 4. The shower was mouldy and when I returned from a morning out, a box in the bathroom sprayed brown stuff all over our bathroom. Not sure what it was or where it came from. Don’t want to think about it. But had to clean it up ourselves after calling city break. Also, if you’re a light sleeper - DO NOT STAY HERE. Noise travels easily, even casual coversations on the street are easily heard. If you sleep heavily, or plan on a few big nights, this is the place for you. I would have no problem staying here if I was going on a bender - otherwise, find a higher floor. Buses leave regularly from out the front. Plenty of taxis too.
- Kayo (8/5): - This location is extremely convenient to everything in the main area of the city. It’s located just a block or two from Temple Bar and you can pretty much walk to any shopping area or attraction nearby. Highly recommend just for that alone. We did encounter one pretty large bed bug in the bedroom but we didn’t get massively bit for the most part so we were okay. Our two little kids didn’t get bit at all and that’s what we cared about so it didn’t bother us for the trip but we did get home and found bites on my arms and stomach. Our family travels a lot so a bed bug doesn’t really deter us but am FYI for future guests. The fire alarm went off one morning very early but the staff was quick to fix the problem. Also couldn’t use our safe and staff came quickly and fixed it as well. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in a convenient location.
- Caroline (10/5): - Très bien placé, appartement propre
- Sandra (10/5): - Very convenient little flat.
- Alaina (10/5): - Great location. Was really nice to have a full kitchen and laundry machine. Even got a tatoo at the Ink Factory downstairs! View of the river is lovely too.
- Ian (8/5): - Great location if you want to be in the middle of the tourist area. Accommodation all ok and as expected for the price. You download an app for remote check-in and keyless access to building and room which we didn’t realise beforehand but was all fine. Loo is a five flush per poo though!
- Tamara (8/5): Nice location/entry struggles - We had the 3 bedroom unit and it was clean and comfortable. The unit had everything we needed and was located to all the spots you would want to see by foot. The check in process is a little convoluted. It’s keyless entry now but you have to download two apps to get your “key”. The first app you download a couple days before arrival but there is no mention of the second app. I had to email support when we were standing outside the building. They were quick to respond and send the email with the second app instructions but it was a little nerve racking not knowing what to do.
- karine (10/5): - Nice stay, in Temple Bar really close to everything.
- Gary (8/5): - Check in was confusing and difficult. Once that hurdle was cleared the apartment met our basic needs. It was located in a great area on the river and the price was right. No air conditioning but it wasn’t a big issue as the temperatures were not that high. Overall, a good deal
- Verified traveler (10/5): Two day stay - Small apartment but adequate for two nights as we were out most of the day. Bathroom and shower lovely. Good selection and plenty of towels. Basic toiletries and a hair dryer was helpful. The kitchen was great for a two day stay with everything we needed for a basic meal as we arrived too late to go out for food
- Derrick (10/5): - Perfect location, great apartment! Close to everything your little heart desires. Would absolutely stay here again and will recommend to everyone! There was an issue with the power company (small underground electrical issue) that caused a power outage. The staff was super communicative and gave us lots of options. They ultimately booked us into another apartment for one night of our stay and then we were able to return to the Wellington Quay once the power was restored. City Break was so helpful and kind throughout the whole process.
- Saeed (8/5): - The location of the appartment was great! Right on the river and very close to restaurants, cafes and groceries. This also means that it was not very quiet due to many people staying out late and cars/buses passsing by. This did not bother me as I was exuasted after my day trips so I could easily fall asleep but you need to keep this in mind.
The space was rather tight for our family of four but based on Europe's standards I'd say it was above average.
The kitchen had everything but weirdly there was no coffee machine! I had to bring my own french press all the way from Canada to make my cup of coffee every morning. There was actually a french press in the kitchen but when I contacted the office they did not reply quick enough and I was already on the way to Ireland.
The other issue was the bathroom. There was no outlets in there and the cabinets were pertruded.
- David (6/5): - Loved the location in Temple Bar. So much to do quite close to the property. Check-in was good through their service - distance between check-in and property required second taxi ride. We were there during extra warm weather; a fan would have been greatly appreciated. We would stay there again, but would limit ourselves to top floor apartments as noise from above tenants (who seemed to be practicing Irish dance) was distractingly loud.
- Darren (10/5): - Location to all amenities in Dublin
- Laura (6/5): - The whole concept of the city apartments was wonderful. The only challenge was getting into the site. You must have and turn on your cellular service.
- Andrew (4/5): - Not very clean and only 2 chairs for 4 people
- Lucia (10/5): - Great for a family, easy check in at the agency, walkable restaurants, shopping and sightseeing.
- Kevin (6/5): - The location is amazing - right around the corner from Temple Bar and completely walkable for every sight we wanted to visit. However, it was extremely small for a family of 4 and the unit we stayed in needed some work - sloping floor, low water pressure, and a weird banging noise in the bathroom. If it was just 2 of us, the place would totally work.
- Brent (10/5): - Staff at the check in location were amazing. We arrived 6 hours prior to check in time. They held onto our luggage while we explored the city. They then emailed us the second our room was ready. Upon checkout we forgot our passports in the safe and left the building. Upon noticing our error the staff went back to our room and retrieved them for us. They then brought them to us at the check in location. Fantastic customer service by their front end staff
- Amie Elizabeth (10/5): - Get location. Nice clean space.
- Staci (10/5): - Perfect location in the center of Temple Bar. Clean & convenient
- ian (8/5): - Very well located in Temple Bar. Really clean organized property. No issues at all. Would stay here again.
- Kathleen (6/5): Bad WiFi apartment - No TV and the WiFi was terrible.
- Fernanda (8/5): - The location is really good apart from the noise. If you want to sleep don’t stay here or bring your ear plugs. Apart from that I think the property met our needs, 3 girls on holidays.
- #12HawkFan (8/5): - Terrific apartment to explore Dublin from located right on the river in Temple Bar. Lots of good restaurants and pubs nearby plus a full kitchen. There is an elevator in the building and the apartments are very nice with views of the river. Ours was on the 1st floor which was eye level with the second deck of the buses that stop right out front so you may want to request 2nd or 3rd floor if that bothers you. Would have given 5 stars if not for the inconvenience of checking in so far away (they should use electronic keypad locks instead of making you pick up a single key and charging $200 if you lose it) and failure to provide basic amenities like paper towels, napkins, and laundry detergent.
- Paul (10/5): Happy with Host - Central location & very clean accommodation.
- Ronny K. (8/5): great place, great location, poor communication - The apartment was very nice and very well appointed. The location was awesome! You were well within walking distance to most everything we wanted to see. I was never able to get in touch with the property manager before our trip. I tried to message them through VRBO website and app multiple times with no response. Finally had to have someone at VRBO contact them and have them call me. They didn't even call, got all information through the nice customer service lady at VRBO. Had to go to a separate location to get keys and instructions, then to the actual apartment. Fortunately, it was very nice and it all worked out. Just wished the property managers were more responsive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Such a fantastic location!! Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay as it is so central!!
- Disappointed (4/5): - Close to centre areas of the city was great. However the rooms are not sound proof. Placing another window inside the original window which does not close properly is not class as double glazing. Inconsiderate occupant in rooms above stomping, phones ringing and vibrating all hours of the night. Late night loud conversations you can hear through the walls and bathroom. Tattoo shop next door music could be heard until 9pm every day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay, really enjoyed it top location will deffo return
- robert (10/5): 100% best choice - Fantastic apartment. We came on our honeymoon with a group of friend and our driver from the airport had a gift from the office for our wedding. Incredible location, brilliant flat.... absolute 10/10 for me and it made for a perfect trip with our friends.
- Paula (10/5): - Lovely apartment with views over river, beautiful bathroom & well equipped modern kitchen. A little noisy at night but to be expected in Temple bar. I’d definitely book again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location! Fully kitted out with anything you would need in an apartment! Lovely view of the Liffey! Would recommend you stay here
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nicely renovated apartment close to bars and restaurants. Small but comfortable, stocked with everything you need. Elevator handy as the apartment was on the 3rd floor.
- Sabrina (8/5): - Location A1, Amenities A1, Staff was friendly, the only complaint I had was we had to constantly ask for toilet paper and towels and house cleaning services. I guess this is because the staff and reception is not on site. We were there 2 weeks and always had to call in for this basic stuff which I expected to be done automatically.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment was clean and modern. It recently had a complete makeover and can easily fit 2 couples. But the best part was the location. 30 seconds from Temple bar/ Auld Dubliner over looking the Liffey river. Check in office is approximately 15 min walk away by that isn’t even really an issue cause you get to stroll over the Ha’penny bridge.
- Vicente (10/5): Dublin family vacation - It was an amazing place. Location was perfect. We didn’t even take a cab except to get to our place. Couldn’t ask for a better location. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay.
- Mary F (10/5): Ireland - Very clean and nice place
- John (4/5): Great location, basic apartment - Great location but the apartment is extremely basic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location - busy outside but quiet inside. The property is well equiped, bed comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location is great, very close to the temple bar area and walking distance to lots of attractions. Close to restaurants, bars and convenient stores.
It is very noisy at night, maybe too close to the temple bar area. The apartment is right next to the Liffey area, so there are tons of seagulls. The birds wake us with their loud squawking all night long.
- MF (8/5): Where we stayed was very nice - We booked this apartment for a 2-night stay, but didn't stay here. Upon arrival, we were told the location we had rented (with a potential river view) had been damaged by guests in town for a music festival and they would need to move us. While the replacement (at the same rental rate and amenities) was closer to the things we wanted to do, it was more lived-in with a smaller, more dated bathroom than what was pictured here and than what I had anticipated. A block from Temple Bar, it was also across from a building being renovated so it didn't feel very inviting or safe on first glance. The replacement apartment, however, was clean and very comfortable and did meet our needs. The rental company allowed us to store our luggage until the apartment was ready and also paid for a cab to the apartment as a make-good for having to move us. The check-out process was simple as well.
- Meghan (10/5): - Great size apartment. Much more space than a standard hotel room. Perfect location. Somehow we never seemed to be more than a short walk away. Washer/dryer combo is so great to have. Overlooks the water. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was very clean. It was close to everything in Temple Bar, which was very good, although it did get loud at night - we had a warm spell and slept with the windows open.
- Walter (10/5): Excellent location for visit to Dublin - This apartment is very central and can visit most attractions within walking distance. The apartment is clean and comfortable.
- Ann (10/5): Amazing Apartment on the river. - Amazing!!! Location, Cleanliness, Comfort and Service. Definitely would stay here again. The apartment had everything we needed and more.
- Deborah (10/5): Perfect little place near Temple Bar - Love this cute apartment. Walking distance of all the main things to do. So much better than a hotel stay.
- william (10/5): Weekend with the kiddos - Perfectly located. Central to everything. Office staff extremely helpful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is about as good as it gets so far as getting out and seeing Dublin. The apartment was spacious and fairly luxurious; I wish my own house was so nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. The front desk was very kind to let me check-in early. The Wi-Fi was great.
A few things that should be improved in my opinion: 1) a cast iron or high-temperature-supporting frying pan should be stocked in the kitchen; 2) soap and washing machine detergent need to be provided in rooms; 3) an inner set of sound-proof windows need to be installed and ear plugs provided in the interim. With no soundproofing I woke up every night to people on the street and had to use makeshift toilet paper ear plugs. I otherwise would have liked to stay for longer but I couldn't handle the noise; 4) the rooms should be equipped with digital pass-code locks or something similar so that people can check-in without having to walk to the front desk 15 minutes away with their bags.
Anyhow in spite of those complaints I have pleasant memories of the place and am pleased overall. Thank you.
- Manuela (8/5): Close to the heart of the action - Very comfortable appartment for our grown up family, with all we needed for a short stay. Modern, clean and well kept.
On the edge of the busiest area, some noise in the morning from the road traffic below, but still had a good sleep. River view was nice. Easy reach for everything we wanted to do. We had a car, parked at Jervis st. across the river, which was not really a good idea as parking expensive and none free on roads. Driving in the area is also hellish... So prepare to walk everywhere.
- Seana (10/5): Great stay! - Apartment was clean and nice. I originally booked it for 3 people which would have been great. I changed it at the last minute to 4 and they didn’t care or charge me more. The people that work here were awesome and worked with us on getting our shuttles to the airport which was way better than other taxi services. The shuttle drivers were also very nice and helpful
- Dan (10/5): - Great location and terrific amenities. The check-in was very easy and the staff was very kind to let us pick up the keys early.
- Megan (6/5): - This property was amazing. The location, the cleanliness, the amenities.... but I have to give this experience an "ok" because the best was HORRIBLE. It honestly made my vacation a little less awesome because my back hurt and I was exhausted from not getting any sleep. Otherwise, this place was great for the price and location.
- Gail (8/5): - Location was excellent. Close to everything needed. A little noisy at times but to be expected because of it being a busy area.
- Theresa (10/5): - Spacious Apartment, great location too. Very Clean.
- Linfa (10/5): - The perfect location for tours and for walking. We had anything we wanted within walking distance. staff was excellent. Will recommend to friends.
- Rosa Ricart (10/5): - Excel.lent apartament.I hope the towels were changed each tree days.checking was far away from the apartament
- Anne (10/5): - Excellent location.
- Lori (8/5): - Kitchen was very clean and well stocked. Bathroom was clean and stocked. Apartment was clean and in the middle of town, within walking distance to most, and close to transportation.
Clothes Washer/Dryer only used hot setting, although I indicated coldest water setting, causing drastic shrinkage to laundry. Being in the center of town, very loud at night and hotel across the street leaves bright lights on at the top of building (too hot to close windows and curtains).
All in all though, a very good stay.
- Craig (10/5): - Great location to temple bar area most tours leave from that area
Can walk to all the sites for the apartment or take the hop on off bus
Lovely view over the river from unit number 8
Everything you need is there
Not a lot of noise considering the location
- Beeda (8/5): - We were very pleased with the location of the apartment. The Apartment is in the middle of Temple Bar area, right on the river- walking distance to everything we visited. Museum of Natural History and History, St. Patrick's Cathedral, shopping district, and train. Lots of restaurants to choose from. The apartment is very clean and came equipped with dishes, utensils, pots, fridge, oven, toaster, dishwasher, hot water pot, and clothes washer. Nice to have so you can actually prepare meals.
The cons about the apartment are that the windows are not well insulated, so outside sounds are pretty loud in the apartment. Also, we could hear loud bass beat of music coming from a bar or business close by. We read reviews that this would be the case so we bought the foam ear plugs to wear while sleeping, they worked great. We all slept well. The apartment is pretty small so not recommended for a family over 4. The couch pulls out to a bed (very easy to pull out and put away) in which my two kids slept. With the bed out it is very tight. We put the bed away everyday to open up the area. Also, we recommend not taking showers with the water running. The drain in the shower was slow draining so you will have to take a bird bath like shower.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Well situated but noisy - Excellent facility in the heart of the Temple Bar scene, but noisy. The tattoo artist next door plays loud music until 8 at night, after which local bars take over until three or four, when the drunken patrons shriek their way home...
So the thumping baseline of aggressive rock music is an inevitable part of the experience.
- Judy (10/5): Great apt in temple bar dublin - Loved the apartment location and layout. Struggled with appliances as they work very differently than those in US. In spite of central location it was very quiet and comfortable. Also very clean. Would absolutely stay there again easy walk to everything restaurants, pubs, Dublin castle, trinity college to name a few
- Kimberly (10/5): - Loved the location in Temple Bar, near Christ Church. The apartment staff were very helpful and responsive. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. Very enjoyable stay.
- Karen (10/5): Perfect location for a visit to Dublin - Although this apartment is located in Temple Bar we didn't experience any noise or disruption. We were on the 2nd floor in apartment 9 which overlooks the River from the living room and the bedroom is at the back so very quiet. The rooms were good sized with everything needed for a short break (except teatowels). Excellent cleanliness. Excellent location.
- Gianna (10/5): AMAZING location! - Three of us stayed here recently and had an incredible time! We are all in our mid twenties so being near the Temple Bar area was great for us. It is on one of the busiest streets in Dublin, so if you're a light sleeper I do recommend choosing a different location as the bars, cars, and people can be a bit noisy.
This is a bit of an Air BnB type set up, where it is an apartment with a kitchen, etc. and does not have the daily maid service - which I think would have been convenient to have but wasn't a deal breaker.
It is literally a stone throw away from THE Temple Bar, is directly in front of the river so the views are amazing to wake up to, has great natural light and had all the amenities that we needed for our 4 day stay. I would without a doubt recommend this place to anyone for a fun trip to Dublin.
- Edward (8/5): Wellington Quay Apt - This was our first experience with an apt hotel. The office for check in was a good distance, on a slightly shady street. Check in was easy & the office staff friendly & helpful.
The front of the apt looked over the River Liffey, the back room looked into an alley. Well equipt kitchenette. The neighborhood is lively at all hours.
We had trouble with one heater & it was too late to contact the office. The maintenance man responded first thing to our email. Showed us proper operation. We appreciated his initiative.
It was great value & met all our needs. It does require a degree of independence.
- Lacey (10/5): Comfortable apartment by river Liffey - The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed during our sty in Dublin. Right in front of the river and few steps away from Temple Bar. The main sights of Dublin were well within walking distance and so the only transport we ever really needed was to and from the airport! The apartment had a TV, fridge, washing machine, stove, and more. Shower worked great, and beds were comfortable, really had a great experience and would recommend it. The apartment was very very warm when we arrived, but opening the windows and shutting off the heater fixed it nicely.
- Kimberly A (10/5): perfect location and very clean - The apt was perfectly located to walk anywhere even to tour bus pick up locations. A taxi lane was located directly outside. The only draw back at all was one roll of toilet paper and one garbage bag for 2 people for a week didn't work. This could easily be correctly by management. I'm sure they would have brought more had we called..., but the point is it should have already been there. Great place to stay though.
- Maureen (10/5): Fun at Temple Bar - We had a wonderful stay at Temple Bar Wellington Quay Appartments, , it had all the amenitities you need and the service I received at key pick up was so hospitable and friendly. I would recommend this accomodation particularly if you want to walk to all the tourist spots and it's so close to Temple Bar.
- Mike (10/5): Great family spot - Great location and was great having a washer and dryer.
- andrew (4/5): nice but noisy - The room was nice, clean and very close to the entertainment life, but if you would like quietness look someware else. We were harassed be the neighbours underneath some till around 1:30am with noise issues in where we had to call the company and police to resolve the issue.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Extremely clean and well serviced apartment. Very noisy but to be expected in the area. Only downside is key collection on the northside and checkout is too early.
- Laura Anne (6/5): - I remember when i first stayed with this company last year, customer service was next to none. No sooner had you checked into your apt and someone was sent to check and see if all was OK with you.
This apt today is average for money, the only thing I like is your own freedom to come and go and a very central location.
Things I did not like were,
1. Incompetent Wifi, I was with my husband it appeared that as one person logged into the wifi, no one else could get online. It would also just decide not to work. This caused great inconvenience as we both work online! This is not acceptable and actually caused us expense as we had to go out to coffee shops and spend hours there to get anything done!
2. I had not noticed this last time, but perhaps it was a dif apartment, the floor is at a 15degree angle in the living room if you are fussy about that
3. A builder, whom had been given a master key barged into our apt. I was in alone and actually undressed at the time as I was getting ready after a shower, how embarrassing. I had to shout at him to wait at the door as I dressed. This should not of happened and if he had to come round to check the bathroom, I could of at least been informed.
4. I reported the wifi the first night and no one even followed up with us the next day.
Good for leisure stay, not for business
