Guest Reviews
- Andreas (10/5): Awesome view and location - Very friendly staff and brilliant view The wine for the local vineyard is absolutely not our taste (we are from Germany, Rheingau, Riesling Region)
- Courtney (8/5): -
- Petah (8/5): -
- Rhys (6/5): Lovely premises and location, but grossly overpriced and not worth the money - Lovely premises, close to nearby wineries and attractions. Staff were very helpful. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh, prepared quickly and very nice The property is grossly overpriced for what you get. The price to stay one night, for nothing more than a bed and breakfast was unjust. There was a wedding on, which is the main purpose of the venue, but with no advance warning of it, and it being clearly audible throughout the entire building til the wee hours (which weddings are entitled to do), there should have been an adjustment of price, warning of such, or reimbursement after. There have been no acoustic modifications made to counter the very noticeable road noise, even with the doors closed, or the other events on at the venue. Had the price been $400 this review is not being written. But at double that, one has the right to expect a lot more.
- LIU (10/5): amazing - environment, yard, view and service
- Brett (10/5): Stunning property - Amazing location and property just stunning outlook . Service levels were excellent and meals all high quality .
- Chantelle (10/5): - Absolutely stunning location -unbeatable. Facilities and service were also excellent. We loved our stay. Nothing.

- Paula (10/5): Our go to accomodation when we visit central otago - Excellent location, stunning views, excellent breakfast and amazingly helpful staff I loved everything
- Chloe (10/5): Beautiful, charming, amazing stay! - The property has absolutely beautiful grounds, gorgeous accommodation and lovely staff. They also have spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We opted to have the candle lit dinner on our stay which was yum and they breakfast included was excellent. They also have a hot tub you can book and a complimentary cheese board in check in which was a fun surprise! The staff were excellent and very helpful. N/a
- Robert (9/5): Beautiful area - Views and the architecture Road noise from highway below

- MARK (6/5): Excellent rooms and buildings but no staff makes it feel you’re staying in someone empty house. - Quality buildings and finish Isolated feel when in retreat suite, essentially you stay in a room (1 of 6) in a very large, empty house, about 100 m from the main lodge. A feeling of disconnection as there are almost no staff, we saw one on the evening and 2 at breakfast, no true reception so lack of service feel, staff people, etc
- Brooklyn (10/5): A stay straight from a dream - Stoneridge Estate exceeded every single expectation. The property is beautiful, overlooking a vineyard, the lake, and the mountains that paint the skyline. The Arrow room is the most beautiful hotel room I have ever had the pleasure of staying in - it was a room straight out of my dreams! The staff, especially Daniel, were extremely kind and went out of their way to insure we had the best stay possible. I will think about this stay often and hope to return in the future. Nothing - it was perfect.
- Chloe (10/5): - This is an absolutely stunning property. The attention to detail, the view, and the staff were all incredible - would come back in a heartbeat.
- Sebastian (9/5): Beautiful retreat in the outskirts of Queenstown - The estate itself and the staff are perfect, special thanks to Daniel who is really a master of all trades! No restaurant in the estate, and sometimes it would have been nice to see more staff on site.
- Rebecca Austin (10/5): -
- Clarence (10/5): The estate, lodge and staff are amazing - highly recommend. - Venue itself was delightful with amazing grounds and facilitiies. Breakfast and staff service were outstanding. A little tricky to get to but a great location none the less with other regional highlights nearby - if you have transport!
- Jennifer (10/5): Daniel took great care of us !! Excellent service, food was exceptional! - Gorgeous!!!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Details beautiful!
- Andreas (8/5): All good! - All god especially the architecture. !! That it was not possible to get a dinner..!
But the service was good and luckely we could find a good wine ..! Thanks!!
- Emily (6/5): - The breakfast was good and staff very helpful. I found the photos on the website to be misleading as the hotel is presented as being in a large isolated property whereas it is actually on a hillside with other buildings not far from a main road. For me this is not a 5 star property as advertised, rather 4 star.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Sophia (10/5): -
- Riley (10/5): A wonderful stay with my fiance, a beautiful place with the best scenery staying in the cottage for 2 nights. The staff - The unique details and design were absolutely amazing, definitely a place that is eye catching with details Everything was perfect, nothing to dislike!
- Kirsten (10/5): Spectacular views and wonderful service, you won't find anywhere better than this in Queenstown. - The whole stay was exceptional - the location is amazing, and the views from every room are just SPECTACULAR. On top of that, Stoneridge has beautiful rooms, very friendly staff who gave incredible service and went out of their way to help, delicious and generous breakfast. I can't think of anything.
- Ruxue (10/5): Highly recommend! It's a great place to stay. - The facilities, layout, environment, and service were all satisfactory. It was an unforgettable experience during our honeymoon trip.
- Karly (10/5): -
- Marina (10/5): - Wonderful property. It’s just absolute combination of luxury and nature. The view was just incredible!
- Hayley (10/5): - This place is absolutely stunning. The rooms are so well thought out, the staff lovely, food amazing and the views are unreal! Pool should be heated.
- Guy (10/5): Stunning - Everything.....the place itself is one of the nicest places we've stayed in the world. Large luxurious rooms, amazing food and wine, a view to die for and exceptional service.....and that pool at the retreat❤️ Nothing - absolutely divine
- Deborah (10/5): Beautiful, calming, relaxing. An absolutely perfect getaway - Beautiful, clean, extremely comfortable. Such great value for money Nothing
- Fitz (10/5): -
- Jayne (8/5): Worth it to splurge on a stay at this top notch venue. - The cheese n wine board as a welcome, the spacious room, the view and the superb breakfast were all excellent, but the staffs helpfulness and friendliness were the highlight. The fact that they only offered a five course meal for dinner, so we had to venture out to get dinner.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- renee (10/5): Best! - Everything! 10/10
- Leanna (10/5): -
- Clare (10/5): As above - Sensational location overlooking lake Hayes, only a short drive from Queenstown. The restaurant served a delicious meal, and breakfast daily. The room was luxury, great bed and pillows, huge bathroom with bath and shower. Great selection of complimentary snacks and cheese platter daily. Nothing
- Georgia (10/5): -
- Arkin (10/5): My Unforgettable Stay at Stoneridge Estate, Queenstown - Stoneridge Estate is truly a magical and unforgettable luxury escape just outside Queenstown; from the moment you arrive, the magnificent schist rock architecture makes you feel like you've stepped into a grand European château, perfectly framed by the absolutely stunning panoramic views of Lake Hayes and the Southern Alps—honestly, the setting is breathtaking from every angle. The accommodation itself is pure five-star indulgence, but what truly elevated my experience was the impeccable, service, especially from Daniel, who was wonderfully professional. Stoneridge Estate is simply the best choice for anyone looking for supreme comfort, tranquility, and unparalleled beauty in Queenstown, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. nothing
- Karolina (8/5): -
- Sam (10/5): - Luxurious getaway with all the bells and whistles! Staff, particularly Daniel, were fantastic. Enjoyed their professional yet relaxed approach which enhanced the vibe.
The views were exceptional.
Highly recommend the Trust the Chef with the wine paring.
- Tim (10/5): -
- Alex (8/5): - The views were stunning. Staff were great, and the food was exceptional One day we didn’t get the turn down service that was offered, This resulted in a food being left in the room for over 24 hours.
- Shelina (10/5): Incredible kiwi owned accom - Absolutely incredible stay with wonderful staff and the property grounds are beautiful. Nothing at all
- Jia Jian Jay (10/5): Great accomodation with magnificent lake and alpine views - Large spacious bathroom with 2 sinks.
A full body mirror.
Magnificent views.
Excellent customer service. Nothing.
- chelsey (10/5): Perfect, Will return - The staff were very accommodating and extremely dedicated to their work N/A
- Anna (7/5): Enjoyed our short stay and the view is breathtaking. - Location is stunning and staff are attentive and accomodating. These two things made our stay an enjoyable experience. As a wedding venue I would have preferred to be in a room away from the events/party. We were offered an upgrade before arrival but it seemed a bit expensive given the lack of typical holiday venue facilities and with no context on the location of rooms, so we chose to keep our original room. The room, while spotless and well appointed, was musty and the smell could be quite intense.
- Andre (10/5): - An amazing place to stay to end a week long road trip around Otago and Southland. Stunning views from every vantage point and the staff were all amazing as well. Would definitely stay again in the future.
- wang (10/5): -
- Hugo (10/5): Fantastic, would highly recommend - Fantastic big rooms, incredible view and great facilities Nothing - it was all amazing!
- Vaietu (10/5): -
- Irene (10/5): Best skiing and leisure location in Queenstown - Amazing accommodation, food and care, stunning views of the lake and mountains, ideal location for both the coronet/remarks and Cardrona. Thank you, team!
- Geert (9/5): -
- wen hua (10/5): -
- Allison (9/5): -
- Karen (4/5): - Call before booking as listed amenities are erroneous. On a loud highway, no room service, dinner requires 24-48hrs advance reservation, pool is tiny (the photo on Expedia does not look like the hotel pool, nor the hotel (???)), can't use the gym unless you've booked certain rooms, which weren't available. Room was clean but tired and beds not great. Bathroom was freezing. Limited staff - often had to walk around to find someone. I asked to cancel the reservation (denied) and overheard manager to tell desk reception that she couldn't talk for 30 minutes and then she left for the day. On the plus side, breakfast was very good and the poor guy manning the front desk AND serving/cleaning up breakfast was excellent. (Painful) lesson learned.
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Ronald (9/5): Serene lodging near Queenstown - Cosy lodging. Peaceful . Close to Queenstown and surrounding places of interest
- Trent (5/5): Pretty disappointing for the price of the accommodation. - Great view, nice facility, close to amenities. The young man who checked us in was great although I couldn’t help but think they were very understaffed, he was trying to do his best. Check in was very disorganized , no working eftpos machine and the room we booked wasn’t what we received. With no offer of remuneration for the mistake. Breakfast was very slow considering there were only 4 to cook for. Not something you’d expect from a $1000 a night hotel.
- Ronghui (1/5): Bad -
- Cheng (10/5): - Great place and great staff
- Mikayla (10/5): - Fantastic staff and stunning property and views.
- Melissa (10/5): - Had a beautiful stay at Stoneridge! The lodge itself is in a beautiful location. Service was second to none. We will absolutely be back again.
- Sylvia (6/5): - Almost everything about the property was excellent. Great check in and the rooms were lovely.
The only concerning thing was that we were in the Retreat Suite and at around 830 in the morning the groundskeeper walked across the outside window of our room to use the hose. The windows are floor to ceiling and you can see into the rooms even when the blinds are down. We were half dressed. I feel this is an extreme invasion of privacy and I wouldn’t expect this type of act at a five star property. He walked across again around 11 even though we had a late check out at noon. When there are guests staying in that room, I would recommend that there isn’t any activity near those windows in the morning hours as there could be people in different states of undress as they get ready to check out.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - Stoneridge Estate is my favourite accomodation I've ever stayed in. The rooms and facilities were amazing. Being out at Lake Hayes and away from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown was so relaxing. Wineries, Arrowtown, Ayrburn, Frankton Arm are all a quick drive away. The hot tub was great and the wine/cheeseboard each evening was a lovely addition. My partner and I enjoyed simply walking around the estate and looking at all the beautiful autumn colours. And the breakfast and coffee each morning was fantastic!
- Muhan (10/5): Amazing - Everything
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - The room was amazing, the views were incredible, the service was lovely
- Jin (9/5): Superb -
- Yu (9/5): Superb - Amazing view !
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb - Milford suite was beautiful. Spacious, clean, amazing place to stargaze
- Janette (9/5): A fabulous place to relax and recharge - The views were spectacular- the pool was great
- David (10/5): - Great building. Excellent hospitality. A great stay
- Gloria (9/5): Great experience and memories - Great staff and design; superb view; food is quite decent as well their AC seems not quite effective and we have to endure the heat for almost 2 hours till the temp dropped to a comfortable level
- John (10/5): - A truly delightful experience. The lodge was quiet with beautiful grounds and building. Excellent service and wonderful good! Thank you!
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelsey (9/5): Superb -
- Claire (10/5): Like a DREAM! - Stoneridge Estate was like a dream! The buildings and grounds were straight out of a fairytale and the staff treated us like royalty. The breakfast was the best I've ever had and the complimentary cheese platter upon arrival made us feel very special! Especially since we were able to have it while we enjoyed the hot tub!! It was a great location to be able to visit Arrowtown and the river nearby. Definitely the best place I have ever stayed!
- Laura (8/5): - This is a beautiful property! We adored the room and the view! We had great service the first day and then unfortunately it went down from there. It could be because there were events there the other days of our stay, so they were spread thin since they are a small staff. Definitely unfortunate but the estate is beautiful regardless.
- Carmen (7/5): Nice stay but the facilities need up dated - The location Bit run down
- Lillian (10/5): I came for Michelle and Sandro’s wedding very enjoyable. - I loved the b/fast cafe late was very good fried eggs were perfect and croissant and Danish were very fresh. Very hilly for me I had to get a lift either my
Friends or your staff to take me to
B/fast.
- Ronda (10/5): Blessed to have been welcomed to this lovely B&B. - The property has lovely landscaping located on a hillside with spectacular views. The owner and family work diligently to keep it looking and running smoothly. Brooks was exceptionally friendly and made us feel at home as well as the entire staff. Dining is excellent and we loved the special wine and cheese board in the evening.
- Gael (9/5): Superb -
- Jacqueline (9/5): On arriving I was a bit unsure but when I saw the retreat I was delighted . - Breakfast was excellent and the staff went above and beyond.
Old pArt of hotel could do with a freshen up but the retreat was stunning . Not keen on the older part where breakfast was needs modernised and decluttered
- Vasco (10/5): Charming and relaxing - Breakfast was delicious Liked everything
- Br2020 (9/5): Gorgeous property - something special - Beautiful property, lovely rooms, enthusiastic and helpful staff. Loved the details like the wine and cheese platter, the pool and hot tub, the maxi bar Wish the pool was heated
- Wayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (10/5): - Beautiful rooms and views!
- Verified traveler (10/5): 10/10 Exceptional Stay - Wonderful stay! Staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The room was spacious, clean, and relaxing. The estate is situated outside of Queenstown proper ~20 mins from the airport, on a hill overlooking the beautiful surrounding Lake Hayes area. They plussed up the experience with an evening cheese board and glass of their house Pinot Rose, just 👌. The property amenities read that there is airport transport which is not accurate, but it is easy to get a rideshare/taxi out to the property. If staying at the estate consider booking a dinner at the near by Amisfield restaurant for a Michelin Star worthy experience.
- Olena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stites (10/5): Total Luxury! Incredible views at a beautiful retreat-like resort! - Cannot say great enough things about The Stoneridge Estate! I came to this resort for my honeymoon, and we couldn't have picked a better place. We stayed in a Retreat Suite and were greeted with wine and a cheese board. The suite was beautiful, beds were comfy, and facilities were top-notch. The pool and hot tub were delightful, and we could have stared at the views forever. Definitely a place you won't want to leave! Not a thing!
- Ho (10/5): Amazing stay in Queenstown - The property is in a vineyard and most rooms oversee a nice grape + tree + lake view. I stayed at Aoraki suite which is very spacious, clean and comfortable. There is daily complimentary cheese board - minibar, chips and a bottle of rose are also complimentary. I tried the “Trust the Chef” dinner at the estate which is very good. Quality food plus reasonably priced wine pairing / wine menu. Breakfast was good - continental plus a la carte. Last but not least, at the retreat suite there is a very nice lobby, infinity pool and hot tub. The entrance of the hotel and the reception was a little bit hard to find at first, as Google directed me to another closed entrance - and there is no clear sign where the hotel reception is (and the estate is big). So I drove through 3 properties until I found the reception.
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
