Guest Reviews
- Ryan (9/5): - great place

- Keith (10/5): - Beautiful house in a stunning location. Nice meals. Peaceful, relaxing. Nothing. It was fabulous.

- Ekaterina (10/5): Amazing vacation - It is very beautiful property. Room was nice ,cozy and spacious. The house has a kitchen and water and coffee available all day . People who work there are very nice and friendly. The only downside is 1 mile road to get to the property . It is pretty rough. Will recommend larger car .

- Alexandra (10/5): We loved it - This was the perfect place to escape the crowds and enjoy nature while still being close to Mombacho and not far from Granada.
The building was extremely modern and well decorated, with very quirky touches like the outside shower. We loved the living area with beautiful views each side to admire the sunset and sunrise. The free tea and coffee was appreciated. The hammocks were lovely to lie and enjoy the peace and nature. Nice pool area. We arrived fairly late and hadn't eaten and they arranged food to be bought to us which was very tasty (there isn't anywhere particularly close to get food). The breakfast changed the 2 mornings we were there and were both lovely.
Very comfortable bed. Good WiFi. Hot shower.
We were woken early one morning by the howler monkeys and found a troop of them beside the property which was fun to watch. The road up to the accommodation is dirt track for some of it, but we managed it in our standard hire car ok.
- René Alexander (10/5): - areas naturales acceso muy complicado
- Jelte (7/5): Incredible nice location to hang yr hat - Staff pleasant, helpful, non intrusive. The cabin has a kitchen and refrigerator but with the very limited (pans, kitchen knives etc) supply of kitchen utensils, very hard to use appropriately. Pity, since place is spacious enough to organize a big meal.

- Saar (10/5): Beautiful, clean, friendly, nicer than the photos!!! - Amazing house with great attention to details. Everything was clean and beautiful. The views were incredible! The drive up is a bit long and rough - especially at night.

- Gabriella (10/5): Relaxing location, great views, polite and helpful staff! - The property is in a secluded area, very quiet with great views of the greenery and Mombacho. It made for a very relaxing stay. The only thing to keep in mind is there is no A/C. However, it was not hot and I didn’t feel the need for A/C (which I normally do). It’s in an elevated area so it is a cooler climate.
- Pim (10/5): Adembenemend uitzicht - Het uitzicht was echt prachtig en de kamer was mooi groot.
- yves (10/5): I a estancia perfecta - ¡Una estancia absolutamente espectacular!
- iris (9/5): excellent - remoteness natural the dinner we had was average
- Juan (9/5): -
- Nerio (10/5): Great views, fresh air - Overall facility was great, beautiful design, amazing views of the Mombacho volcano and the lake Car parking is about 300 mts from the property so it cumbersome to bring your stuff to the facility
- Timofey (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing. My best hotel ever
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerardo (10/5): I recommend to pay cash because of windy season, hard to proceed payments by credit or debit cards - Comfort, Highly recommended for travel-relax . Stay out from cities population. Bring your book!
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Alfaro (6/5): Pleasant - The views are amazing you’re looking at the volcano mombacho , the pool is pretty . Everything is a little far specially if you want chips . I couldn’t really sleep in my room because the wind is strong & insects come in I don’t know how .
- Kevin (10/5): Amazing natural retreat... it truly is an opportunity to just breath - The location was absolutely beautiful. The surroundings on the mountain , the view of the Mombacho volcanoes and the lake were stunning. My family and I awoke to the sound of monkeys and observed beautiful little hummingbirds each morning as we relaxed in lovely hammocks. The facilities were a wonderful retreat. The large cabin was amazing and the suite was wonderful. I also cannot speak enough about the amazing people who worked at this facility. Jairo is an outstanding host. My wife and I talked with him about all types of things for hours and his staff is equally amazing. They served wonderful local cuisine that was wholesome and delicious. Jairo was so amazing that he personally escorted me down the roads when I had concerns about the road worthiness of my vehicle. He never ask3d anything for this and is truly a humble and wonderful person that my family now considers a new friend. What an awesome experience!!! For the trail to the wonderful retreat I would advise a four by four vehicle although we made it with a small compact car thanks to Jairo!
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. A perfect place to relax and enjoy few days off
- Winston (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful home. Host is very responsive. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Stunning Views.
- Caroline (10/5): Paradise in the central mountains - Hands down one of the nicest places we stayed in 4 months traveling in Central America. The main house is in a gorgeous setting with views in all directions, of greenery, the volcano and the lake beyond. The room is big and comfortable and naturally well ventilated. One of very few places which actually had enough storage space! I loved the outdoor shower. The common areas are fantastic, and would have plenty of space to cook and eat for a big group. The pool is wonderful and the hammocks and multiple terraces are perfect for lounging day and night. You probably need a 4x4 to access the property, but that is a good thing to have anyway to explore the region.
Breakfast was tasty but we were not given any choices or information of what we are going to have, which would be nice to express preferences or dietary restrictions. Besides breakfast, it works more like an Airbnb (fine, just be aware of it).
Some things need upkeep (the wooden slats in the rooms and the pool loungers for example). The place recently changed ownership, so I hope they keep it up and improve it!
- Silviajadeite (1/5): BEWARE THIS IS NOT AN ORGANIC ENVIRONMENT and it’s not a lodge or hotel but an old house let out - The staff are really courteous although the day staff ignored my request of no salt in my food and a vegetarian option: one day he brought me meat in the plate. I enjoyed the general ambiance and the view.
I am grateful to the management for allowing a late check in. The property is in urgent need of an upgrade: it’s smelling of mould (mold, fungus) all over and in my bathroom there’s a huge water damage patch that is heavily contaminated with mould and other pathogens.
Internet and electricity supply can be patchy. I couldn’t work the first day due to lack of internet connection.
Upon arrival the night guard was very corteous and helped me carry many pieces of luggage and told me about the “organic farming”, however the second and third day fumigation with highly poisonous insecticides was carried out.
The morning of the third day before check out I was already feeling very sick because of my dietary requirements not being met (I have salt and meat allergy, therefore I was sick from the second day’s breakfast which included meat and food with salt).
Then suddenly one of the staff members started to cut the grass raising a lot of toxic dust around. Since they had been spraying insecticides the toxic dust hit me very hard and I had to lay down at that point!
The management already agreed to keep some of my luggage in the common area until early afternoon, however he suddenly changed his mind and forced me to leave with all my luggage because the premises had been let out as a “whole house” and so they couldn’t keep my luggage what had previously been sold to me to be a “hall” or common area.
I’m still suffering from stress and physical sickness from this experience! I reserve my rights to seek compensation
- Monika (10/5): Hidden gem betweeen Granada and Volcán Mombacho - Hidden gem for Deep relaxation and tranquility and at the same time for fantastic Day Tours to Volcanoes Masaya, Mombacho, Granada, Isletas - reason why we booked another two nites. Relaxed on the terrace + poolside with incredible views, had this amazing breakfast prepared and served by Henry and enjoyed every detail of the stylish house . Could not have been better!😍
- Monika (10/5): Luxury stay in hills above Granada - Little paradise in Nicaragua- arquitectually styled House on a Hill between Granada and Volcán Mombacho; ideally located for day trips to Granada and Volcanoes. Staff(Henry) amazing with a different 5*breakfast served right in the lodge , views from the briad terrace spectacular , even had monkeys passing . infinity Pool a delight . Loved everything and will be back!
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liya (8/5): Very good -
- Snezana (10/5): Heaven on earth! - This place felt like heaven on earth! It's extremely clean and so peacefull. We are already planning on comming back! The path from the main road to the home was doubtfull the first time but once you get up on the hill you can't beleive your eyes. Amazing
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miriam (10/5): Lovely getaway with stunning views - The property is located in a great spot for views of the Mombacho, the sunset and Granada and lake Nicaragua in the distance. It’s very well kept and comfortable. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast served right on time, and it was very good. It was a really nice experience, thank you! We had a power cut for a couple of hours, which meant we didn’t have water either. Not a big deal, just a little inconvenient as we were getting ready to leave.
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional - Staying here was one of the best decisions of my Nicaragua trip, such a tranquil base to explore Granada and nearby Mombacho Volcano from. Loved sitting on the terrace reading, and relaxing by the pool.
- Eloa (10/5): Amazing - The most relaxing place I've been in the entire trip to Granada. I'll definitely return without hesitation. The staff could have advertised there can be dinner available if requested beforehand.
- Bozhidara (10/5): Spectacular view, amazing house - This hotel is a hidden gem in the jungle above Granada. The view is spectacular, the house very modern and stylish, breakfast very delicious. Definitely a 10 of 10.
- Mathew (9/5): Great place with nice surroundings and very peaceful - Location was good. Breakfast was excellent. Road was less than perfect
- Ariana (8/5): The most relaxing surroundings! - We loved our stay and have never felt so relaxed! We’d booked a deluxe double room, but as they had a retreat on, we were given the ‘casita’ which was very private and spacious! Our private terrace had an incredibly comfy seating area overlooking the jungle and volcano which was really special. We’d opted for dinner both nights we stayed and it was delicious and very generous in portion size! The breakfasts were also delightful. The staff were amazing, we had our food brought to us at the agreed times and the staff were always on hand to help us when needed. We were lucky enough to see some amazing bird life, and also had howler monkeys in the trees next to the terrace on our last morning there which was amazing! Due to its pretty remote location, it would be good if the property could offer drinks and lunch - even a stocked but chargeable fridge for drinks would be helpful, as Granada is still a 20 minute taxi ride away. We had quite a few power cuts during our stay, though again the staff were amazing about this. Being from the UK, we’re not massively accustomed to creepy crawlies so this took some getting used to - especially the whip spiders/whip scorpions in the casita, though we were reassured by the staff that these are not in anyway dangerous.
- Armando (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (10/5): Fabulous - Off the beaten track, but set in the most incredible position in the midst of nature (including howlers monkeys!) and with fabulous views. Food was superb and everyone was very friendly
- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandra (10/5): Relaxing stay in a wonderful lodge. - the lodge is absolutely stunning, with fantastic views from the terrace over the volcano and it's beautifully designed. It's very quite and remote which I loved. The only thing was that there was no food available because the cook was on vacation and I didn't bring any food to cook myself. But the staff was very helpful and organised a shuttle to a restaurant close by. I had a fantastic time.
- Els (10/5): Exceptional - The location is amazing. The views and the tranquility in a green oasis is perfect to unwind. We forgot to bring our food and they helped us out without any hassle. The shared living area is a very relaxing place to chill after your walks or after a dip in the gorgeous pool.
- Eduardo (10/5): HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - It is the perfect place to get a breath from the city, the room and the service is quite comfortable. I'll definitely come back Nothing to say here since everything was more than excellent
- Ditlev (10/5): Exceptional - This is one of the best places we have been, and we have been traveling for more than a year. So peaceful and incredibly beautiful. A perfect view to the Mombacho forest, a lot of of Howlers and an extreme amount of fireflies in the evening. The pool is deep and refreshning. Finally, the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful.
- Jossue (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the place There was no place to get food
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing scenery gives a relaxing vibe. Recommend this place fully without hesitation. somewhat secluded, which is not a bad thing, but make sure to bring enough food. Ordering is possible but takes time
- Vanecita86 (8/5): It's ok - The serenity of the place Breakfast was cold, without coffee
- Mireia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suhr (10/5): Henry is the best- so polite and accommodating. - so beautiful. it is surrounded by nature all around, no cars, no construction going on, just trees, a volcano and the mountains. the property was immaculate, well maintained and very clean.
- Tonya (8/5): Very good - This is not a hotel, but a beautiful and private home. There are three rooms with a shared kitchen and living room. We booked all of the rooms so it was like having a private house in a beautiful location.
- Soto (5/5): Nice place but steep stairs and no handrails or protection and no A/C in the room. - The cleanliness of the room was pretty good. I didn't like the fact that there was no restaurant/food service, also there is no handrails for the steep stairs in the buildings, thus I thought is kind of dangerous. Also, there was no A/C in the room, which in summertime I think is needed. The pool has a very deep side, which I also thought it to be dangerous, specially if one is just relaxing.
- Lauren (10/5): Was a very nice quick getaway! Just what I needed - I loved that we were the only ones there and had use of the common room/kitchen. It felt like we were in our own private house :) the views were amazing and the room was very clean - hot water was such a nice surprise (a luxury in Nicaragua) along with a king size bed! Don Henry was very kind and helpful. based on previous reviews I would have expected a little more from breakfast, we got watermelon, toast, a piece of cheese and a slice of deli meat. The watermelon was perfect and the jam was yummy but the meat was a bit weird and the toast was more like cardboard.
- Andreas (8/5): Great place to relax for a few days with stunning view of the Mombacho volcano and surrounded by nature - great location on top of a hill with wonderful view of the Mombacho volcano - yet conveniently close to the city of Granada. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food they prepared for us upon request was delicious. The access from the main road to the Hotel is a bit rough, but no problem for an SUV type vehicle.
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (9/5): Beautiful views, so peaceful - amazing views in this lovely property. It’s so peaceful and you’ve got views of the volcano, Granada, the lake, and the surrounding jungle. We loved sitting on our terrace watching the sun set. The pool is nice, very refreshing, and the home cooked breakfasts and dinners were delicious! The room was beautiful and very comfortable, we loved the open air shower, and also the living space is really nice, we pretty much had it to ourselves. This is easily one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. The owners were very friendly and helpful, a few reviews commenting the owners weren’t present which is a bit odd - we personally were happy they gave us plenty of space and we had peace and quiet, but as soon as we needed anything they were very responsive and helpful. be aware that it’s up a dirt track which might be hard to access in your own vehicle. make sure you bring snacks and wine/beers if you want them - there’s no shops anywhere nearby! Also you need to be fairly comfortable with creepy crawlies - there’s quite a lot, as you’d expect in this type of property and location, so be prepared!
- Amy (5/5): Passable - Nature The food was horrible, it was like $20 and it did not worth, my aunt got sick because of it!
- Esther (8/5): Beautiful but the owners are not really friendly. - the property is just beautiful! rooms are reaaaally nice! the entire house is a work of art. the food from the chef is delicious. the Pool is beautiful.
I was fairly compensated with an upgrade due to an inconvenience with the room. they have 3 rooms and two of them look the same but have totally different views. according to the photos of Booking I rented one with an amazing view but they said I rented one with a view of ugly trees but the post the exact same picture for both rooms so I expected the one with the good view. The owner upgraded me for the inconvenience and the experience was amazing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wunderbar - Toller Empfang, super Dinner, extrem geschmackvolle Einrichtung und Design.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pure luxury
- Worth traveling to Nicaragua just to visit this amazing Eco lodge. Such a fantastic vista , a very special place to unwind and relax. The hosts are very friendly and are great cooks so the food is very very good. They can recommend many local attractions, but also alow you to relax and enjoy the beautiful lodge.
- Eve (10/5): Amazing view of Volcano - It was a gorgeous view with a great experience. Wonderful if you just want to relax. It's a bit of a trek to arrive there but that's part of its charm.
