- Mimi (7/5): Better than expected, but a few improvements would make a difference. - the staff at the front desk and the restaurant were exceptional. my room was never cleaned, and towels were not replaced until I made a phone call. There was no body wash, no towels were replaced and when they were only one bath towel was included. Trash cans were never emptied. Fireworks went off until very late into the night and the daily am trash pick up woke us up very early.

There were many different groups staying there with athletic events to get to early. It is totally unreasonable to make the guests wait that long, especially when there is no coffee shop close by. Also, if the breakfast can't be complementary the coffee should be. I payed $215 for one night. I should get a cup of coffee for free.

Prefer fan to run continuously and just have temperature change but couldn't find that option. Also heard footsteps until very late upstairs. Curtain didnt close all the way so sunlight woke us up at 630am vs 8am.

- Jennifer (1/5): Cleanliness is a concern at this location. - Staff was pleasant and assisted us with our concerns but the room was not up to a clean standard, so we opted for a refund and went to a different location. When we entered our room upon checking in, we inspected the beds as there is always a concern of picking something up you don't want with a communal sleeping space. What we found was a long black hair under the made beds and a hair that was hopefully a course beard hair. Also found drink ring marks on the center table. Essentially, the room has not been cleaned to par. There were also little black specks on the sheets and pillow cases, not bugs, but still didn't make us feel comfortable to stay at this location. We did bring the general manager of room service up, per assistance from the front desk manager, and the general manager inspected and confirmed it was not acceptable. We did not feel comfortable to stay at this location and opted to go elsewhere because of this. Please inspect your space before you unload your items.

Alternate lots located down the street. We literally were there just for the night. Service was good and efficient just not super friendly. - davidoW3493UF (6/5): Few Marriott Options Downtown - This seems to be the best Marriott option if you need to stay in the downtown area. It has a great location with easy access to everything, including dining options within walking distance. I wish I could say all of my stays have been stellar, but the experience tends to be hit or miss. During my most recent visit, I found the room to be spacious, quiet, modern, and clean. The common areas were also large, modern, and well maintained. Other than the check-in process, the stay went fairly well. I used the app for mobile check-in, but when I arrived, I still had to check in at the front desk. I asked if the property simply doesn’t support mobile check-in and was told it’s difficult to assign rooms in advance when they don't know which ones will be ready. I might accept that explanation—if it weren’t the fourth different excuse I’ve received across as many visits. On my previous trip, I was told they were too busy. The time before that, the issue was blamed on the prior shift. I really like the convenience of mobile check-in, so my question to this property is: do you actually support it, or are you just offering a different excuse each time for not using it?

- Maine1day (10/5): Clean & comfy in Akron - Spent the weekend with our bicycle club riding the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and other routes. Perfect lodging for this--easy access to the trail right behind the hotel for riders, and located near U of Akron and downtown for non-riders who wanted to explore. The king room was clean, well laid -out, and spacious enough for two people +two bikes. Large bathroom, sparkling clean, with a large walk-in shower with plenty of hot water and countertop space. Could have used a second towel rack. A/C was up to the task on this hot and rather humid weekend. Breakfast included in our reasonable rate was standard Courtyard Bistro fare--cooked to order french toast w/ berries one day, eggs/toast/bacon the next. They brew Starbucks and my latte was just right both mornings. Northside is a cute area with some dining in walking distance--long line for Luigi's at opening on Friday, and they stay open late, serving solid Italian food. A few non-chain stores as well, and a very nice gallery shop right near the hotel. Know that housecleaning is only every other day, but the staff will offer fresh towels on the off days. Public areas were clean, and the staff courteous. If we come back to the area to ride Akron again, this will be our lodging of choice.

- David (8/5): Nice hotel-Ask for a high floor room. - The front desk staff, especially Jennifer, are fantastic . This is a modern, well designed hotel. The rooms are somewhat small, but adequate. The TV and WiFi worked perfectly. Guest laundry was appreciated. The location of the room, two floors below the lobby, was dark and had a view of a set of stairs. The Bistro was in expectantly closed all day. Breakfast was just OK with watery oatmeal and a Mayo based breakfast sandwich.

- Charmel (8/5): This property is conveniently located to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, bars, shops and restaurants. - To my surprise, the location was exceptional. There were boutique, galleries and outdoor art that was worth visiting. Jelly’s music room is a few steps away and that was a cool feature. From my room I could see Cuyahoga Valley National Park and as a bonus, I saw the scenic railroad train. I always book hotels with a pool . However, on Sunday morning June 8th I went for a swim and There were no towel’s available in the pool area. I had to get the last 2 towels from the fitness center which was an inconvenience. .

- Mark (6/5): Needs Improvement - Not up to the standards of other Courtyards that I've visited. Front desk employees were great, helpful, and quick. Otherwise, staff was not great. The bar and grill had extremely slow service - we ended up having to cancel our dinner order to get to our event that evening. Beds okay, not horrible, not comfy. The shower tries to be modernistic, but only has a partial glass divider and no door - tends to let all the heat out so even if you have the water super hot all the warm air escapes. And the bathroom floor gets wet. Plus, shower pressure was poor. Room was decently clean, but if you do book here make sure you ask for a room on a high floor and well away from the stairwells. There were a ton of visiting college athletes at the hotel, and a bunch were on the upper floors. Not wanting to wait for the elevators, they frequently pounded down the stairwell, which echoed into our room into the late hours of the evening. Parking will always be an issue for this location because the lot immediately in front of the hotel is not even for guests, it's for the other restaurants and businesses in the same plaza. So, you have to park in lots a bit further away or under the nearby bridge. And make sure you get a spot early, because the slots are very limited. Best aspect of this hotel? It's right next to Luciano's, which is a fabulous upscale steak restaurant. It's central to downtown Akron.
