Guest Reviews
- Katharine (7/5): -
- Pat (8/5): - Overall fine. Needed a little TLC
- Tate Castillo (10/5): - .
- Tim (6/5): We had a quiet room and clean sheets. We felt safe, slept well, and were rested for our trip west. - We reviewed the offered selections for breakfast and went elsewhere.
Beds comfortable
Quiet location.
- Jessica (6/5): - Poor parking options. No larger vehicle parking
- C (6/5): - Was a bit pricey for the offerings and one of the staff had some problem with English pronunciation, which made phone conversations difficult. But overall, it was fine. The owners might want to explore why the lobby had an oppressive odor and the breakfast offerings were below average. For those reasons, I downrated my score
- David (8/5): Good for a small town. - The bed was very comfortable. The room was great it just needed some minor repairs in the bathroom.
The breakfast was close to nothing, but it was good enough for a grab and go.
Owner was very polite and kind.
- Melinda (8/5): - Nice
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay - On older facility but in really good shape.
Probably had been updated not long ago.
Clean and comfortable and reasonable.
Should I ever need a place to stay in Sterling
I would not hesitate to stay again
- Anthony (2/5): - The room was not clean. Bedding was stained, mold on the walls as well and dirty.
- Norberto (8/5): Very good - The location Refrigerator not working and unclean areas with cobwebs
- Judy (7/5): Good -
- Cindy (4/5): Disappointing - beds were comfortable there was a musty smell, only got 1 set of towels. no bathtub strips properly put ib tub so I wouldn't slip, the handle on the wall to help grab when getting into bath tub it was loose so I slipped. cob webs on light fixture in bathroom on right side. office was always dark.
- James (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jerry (8/5): - A bit old and beaten up, but it was clean and comfortable.
- Anna (4/5): - The room was clean and the bed was good, the shower, however, was hardly passable. Very little water pressure. The fixtures were hanging from the wall. Couldn’t feel like we rinsed off completely. The lobby door was always locked and we had to knock several times to get anyone to let us in to get a very sparse continental breakfast. I did enjoy the small town setting.
- Henry (8/5): - There was a spider in the bathroom
- Tim (6/5): - I see that they been doing upgrades since last time I stayed. Up grades look nice! The security latch was broken. The bathroom door has not been cleaned for a very long time. There was spit on wall above trash can in bathroom.
- Mary (3/5): Poor -
- Nick (2/5): Better to stay in Hutchison - Skip this one - Check in process was a zoo, we discovered upon arrival that one of the 3 rooms we booked smelled horrible and they refused to refund us for the one room, though we returned the key and didn’t use it. The place needs to be painted very badly, repair issues, and CLEANED. Dirtiest hotel I’ve seen in years.
- Zilla (8/5): Very good -
- Von (10/5): Nice place to stay in a small community. - Nice, quiet, comfortable None.
- Brown (8/5): It was the best weekend getaway I've ever done. - Friendly staff and the room was beautiful . Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Continental breakfast needs work, would like more than toast, cereal, fruit and little Debbie cakes
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (8/5): - It was quiet and peaceful.
- Jill (10/5): - Frindly, quiet, clean. Had trouble with TV and they were in room and fixed in less than 5 min. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked well. Will stay again.
- Jeff (9/5): Good stopover in a nice small Kansas community. - Location. Good for solo road-trippers.
- Gayle (6/5): - We paid for a room with a king bed and got a queen. The manager also said that they've had a lot of issues with expedia.
- 212tracyt (8/5): In town for a family reunion. - I will give this hotel a strong 4. It's very clean, spacious, and the beds slept well. The staff were friendly and gave great customer service. The only reason I didnt give the hotel a 5 is because the tub in room 208 was very slippery. The tub need some friction to prevent slipping. The tub also seems to til downward which make you slide forward in the shower; it need balancing. The location of this hotel is good and bad. Good because it's right off I-75 there's convient stores to purchase gas, Publix grocery store, shopping plaza and other restaurants is less than 2 miles away. There's also a waffle house and wing shack a few steps from the hotel (walking distance). The location is bad because it's in a dark cut near a 24 hour tire shop and a semi truck shop. Getting in late and seeing people standing out all hours of the night is a bit worrisome. As far as the hotel I will definitely stay there again if rooms are available. I almost forgot the hotel can cut down on the air freshners. The hotel smells good but the scent can be a bit overwhelming.
- Sara (10/5): Great place to stay. - Was a great place to stay for a family 4th of July get together. Right price, coinvent, clean, comfortable. Made the weekend a success.
- Verified traveler (4/5): This place was terrible!! - The room was dirty, there were dirty cobwebs in the window sill and in the corners. There was a thick layer of dust on the lamps, the lock on the door was broke. The TV didnt work, i asked the front desk to fix it and she sent her 8 year old grandson. It never did get fixed. I killed 5 spiders and 1 cricket. The owner and his son set off fireworks right outside our room untill late in the night.
- Schrick (8/5): Very good -
- Kathleen (8/5): ok, but a bit expensive, and extra fee for use of credit card was aggravating, with no advance notice. - the room was clean and comfortable, good beds, good water pressure. Nice enough, but really kind of overpriced for what it is. Double Queen ended up being $130 a night, which is higher than the cost for some nice big city hotels. To top it off, which was really aggravating, and why I’m writing this review: they charged an additional 3.5% for use of credit card. The original price was supposed to be $251 for our two night stay, but instead it was $260. There was no advance warning of this extra fee, and there should have been, since this extra charge is an unusual practice. Indeed, I have never encountered it before at a hotel. Only notice was sign at payment window, which was too late. If we’d known in advance we would have brought sufficient cash. But we had no way of knowing. Thus, the statement that the fee is a ‘cash incentive’ is meaningless, because if there’s no way to know in advance, not likely one will travel with enough cash, especially since hotel rooms are typically paid by credit card. It was rather sneaky, I think.
Another slightly annoying feature was one had to ring a bell outside for any access. Payment was conducted outside via a window. I thought it was an after-hours thing, but again I also had to ring bell outside for access to breakfast. And lobby was locked up at mid-day too. Not a deal breaker, but just kind of awkward. Especially strange for small town Kansas. But I have to say I’ve never encountered such a set up before at a hotel anywhere, and I’ve traveled a lot across the nation and the world over many years. One of the charms of small town Kansas is usually things are laid back and easy, but this hotel was kind of uptight and awkward. Just a little strange. I understand safety concerns, I guess, but it’s just not very welcoming or hospitable, especially for small town Kansas.
- Deb (8/5): Very good -
- Mathew (10/5): Great place to stay! - Was very happy with how nice and comfortable this room was!
Stay here!
- Tim (4/5): - Door locks didn’t work, light bulbs in rooms not working, spider webs behind doors, doors where dirty, no breakfast as advertised,
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional -
- michael (4/5): - The staff is rude, dishonest, and unfriendly! I reserved a room on expedia contacted hotel for confirmation and they said no room reservation was found. Told me to reserve room over phone, next day contacted me and informed me of double booking. Told me to cancel expedia and ask for refund because theu receive more money if we use direct booking. After i replied no that was dishonest she got upset and stated that i could not check in early or pay a fee. She got upset after i told her this has happened to me before and others i know and she got angry and hung up!
- Adam (4/5): - Room was a disaster. Drywall damage on ceiling above bed falling off room 110. Light fixtures and faucets loose in bathroom. Lampshades discolored yellow and falling apart.
- U3469DUcodym (2/5): Stay from hell - There was rouches in the room I was charged twice and the manager was extremely rude he even cussed about one of the employees Front of me there was no one at the desk during the night so if you need anything you can't get it
- Jason (4/5): - Filthy room. Clothes washer only filled. No wash or spin. Had to go elsewhere to finish clothes. Went for breakfast at 9 am, door locked to lobby and no one in sight. (All I wanted was coffee, lol). Terrible, I’ll drive 30 minutes next time to Hutchinson to stay at Hampton Inn.
- Verified traveler (8/5): State fair - Finding a room at a decent rate that is not terribly far from Hutchinson for the state fair is almost impossible when you make that last minute decision. This place made that possible.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Just don’t. We did and wish we hadn’t. - This is the only motel stay available in the small town of Sterling. If you need that convenience and don’t mind an extremely dated, small and not very clean room this is the place for you.
If you have any other options you should pursue them will all speed. I’m not sure where the folks leaving good reviews are used to staying but this was the worst motel I’ve stayed in in years.
The only positives I can offer are 1. the mattress itself was comfortable and 2. We did not see any bugs.
The condition of the linens (stained/thread bare) isn’t acceptable this wasn’t a sub $100/night stay but for the condition of the place it certainly should have been.
I can’t speak to the breakfast or other amenities offered because other than a bad nights sleep using improvised linens from our car we didn’t want to be in the property. The bathroom was dirty and small and just gross really.
I could go on. My advice would be to steer clear of this property. Get an air bnb or drive into Hutchinson
- Patrick (2/5): Scary hotel do not stay here - There were no chain or security guards on the doors in the rooms. Its an exterior entry room so that was scary. All night the other residents where outside yelling and partying in the parking lot til 3-4 am and it took me calling the office to get anything done. Chairs and lamps where dirty and rooms smelled like smoke. Lots of mold in the bathroom and the bathroom door would not latch closed unless you put a trash can in front of door to keep it closed. Pics of the hotel definately do no match up with overall experience
- Wayne (8/5): - My wife and I enjoyed the small town atmosphere and very nice proprietors.
- CLARK (2/5): - Did not get romm which we reserved and was confirmed! Unable to shower for 4 days because bathroom is not an accessable bathroom
- Jennifer (2/5): Unhappy - The hotel was incredibly overpriced. It was a motel. So many issues. Hot or cold water were observed but they were supposed to be, there was no midpoint. It was either freezing water or too hot to use. There was dry rot in the walls, the floor was uneven. The bedding did not smell fresh, with stains on the sheets. I stepped outside the door to smoke a cigarette since it was a non-smoking room and staff and staff rudely told me to not smoke in the room. I was not in the room I was outside the door. Multiple missing lightbulbs or nonworking lightbulbs.
- Lupe (6/5): Rooms need some extra cleaning details - The hotel can use some extra cleaning walls and doors they where dirty. The hair dryer did not work and shower curtain was dirty had water stains. The shower head was rusty. I will say the check in was easy and the beds where comfortable.
- Megan (2/5): - The hotel did not have our reservation through Hotels.com.
- Patrick (10/5): - We have stayed there before, staff is very friendly, location is convenient. Room was clean, outdoors is beautiful
- Mary (8/5): - Sterling is a pretty small town and they did a nice job fixing up the old place. It isn’t fancy by any stretch of the imagination but was restful.
- 459krystalr (2/5): Mold infested - We got two rooms for 3 people. The muggy mold smell hits you immediately. The corners of the room look like a fresh coat of paint over mold and the paint has slid down. In one of the 2 bathrooms the toilet paper was crammed into a leak. No continental breakfast as advertised on their outside sign. If u have allergies and have sensitive lungs steer clear. It gets loud at night. The oil workers like to run up and down banging on each other’s doors and stand outside talking all night. Then the lady at the front desk seems to want to help u but her face and body says otherwise. She wants your money but doesn’t want u there. In one of the rooms after just walking in had food crumbs and something crusty over top blanket. Our friend asked for new bedding and had it rudely thrown to her and she changed it herself.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Didn't have my room - We booked through hotels.com and when we got there, they had no record of our reservation and had no rooms available. We had to travel another 30-40minutes to the next available town with a hotel. I'm trying to get a refund for this but hotels.com is being ridiculous because it said nonrefundable. I didn't even get the room! So now I'm out over $100 for a room I didn't get to use. It's BS
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not much to like. No tissues, no toilet paper in room, shampoo and conditioner bottles were less than half full, bugs smashed all over the walls in the bathroom. Towels smelled. Overall the upkeep was not very good. Won't stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Meh - Clean. Quiet. But management tried to walk into my room without knocking or announcing themselves. Good thing I had my door triple locked!
- Texan (8/5): - Clean room and a nice bed with decent sheets for a reasonable price. Good A/C, mini fridge, Keurig machine and complimentary bottled water.
- Milissa (10/5): - We don't stay in motels generally but this is what is available in Sterling KS and it was great. This was so clean and the couple and the kids at the front desk were soooo friendly and helpful. To exceed our expectations wouldn't have taken much but this was one of the best stays in out 9 days of travel. I would highly recommend to anyone.
- Frank (10/5): Good place - Very clean and comfortable, the hotel is also handy to a beautiful little lake surrounding park.
- Judith (10/5): 4th of July - Comfortable and congenial service. Missed the breakfast due to Covid. :-(
- Jody (10/5): great place - Quiet, friendly, clean, and nice area.
- Matthew (8/5): Nice Small town hotel - For a small town hotel, it was functional and well kept. My room looked to have evidence of some rough guest in the past with some patching done. The bathroom floor was slippery no matter what footgear (or lack thereof). It was nice to have a great mini fridge and a microwave that worked almost a bit too well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cute & clean place to stay in Sterling, KS. I have zero complaints about my stay. Everyone was very friendly!
- Susan (8/5): - Shower was working but needed a bit of work to tighten the handle. No butter for waffles. Need more milk choices, only had whole milk. More bottled water to be available. Real coffee instead of Kurerig would have been preferable in the lobby.
Very clean and comfortable room. Quiet and affordable. They changed out our towels but didn't make the beds up.
- TimHall (2/5): - I was bitten by bed bugs and had welts on my back, face and right arm when I awoke. I hate it when I pay for a room and I am bitten by bed bugs because the management didn't do the job to make sure the room was completely free of these disgusting bugs. I will never stay at the Country Inn again.
- SB (6/5): - Unfortunately it’s about all there is in Sterling. It needs work
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was supposed to be nonsmoking and it clearly was not. When I asked for another room, they were completely booked and could not accommodate my request.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This motel has been restored and update since stays that were years past. The AC was the best part on hot Sept
Days. I think they should simply have a coffee bar and maybe muffins or sweet breads for the continental breakfast perhaps softer towels
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cleaness and amenities were Ok. Location is good. Breackfast could improve.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet and affordable. Very friendly staff. Not fancy, just very clean and comfortable.
- GRenollet (2/5): Not a nice place to stay. - The bathroom needs repair and the shower curtain was stained. The bedspread had a large black stain and the sheets were also stained. The room was not made up any of the three nights we stayed also, no clean towels were provided. An elderly couple wanted to check out a day early, after they had stayed three nights, were told that they would be charged for the night. They didn't have good customer service and any compassion. We will not be staying there again.
- Jody (10/5): - very pleasant
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Front Desk receptionist was super RUDE! She goes by the name Dee. The Other staff member was polite but she had the worst attitude and tone of voice. I asked her very politely for her name and she said “Dee” (with a rude tone of voice). Then she proceeded to ask “WHY” (with elevated voice tone) she even rolled her eyes as she proceeded to SLAM the little window at me. I would not recommend this place because of her and her attitude and BAD COSTUMER SERVICE. Hotel is OK but like I said “DEE” makes it a bad place and a terrible experience, especially this late at night when travelers are exhausted and all they need is a place to rest.
- Mary (8/5): Our stay. - The room was clean, bed comfortable, refrigerator quiet, & service was good. There was only one chair & it would have been nice to have another one.
- Terry (10/5): Nice motel - Nice comfortable room in friendly family run motel. They offered breakfast but the room where it was served was very small. We opted to go into town for a sit down full breakfast. Charming small town.
- Glenna58 (4/5): Stay in Hutchinson - The place is very clean and nice looking. Even putting in sprinkler system while there. The room had no electricity in bathroom, no lock bolt on the door, no ice, no information in desk. There was no ice anywhere, but I did see her carrying ice in next morning. Not enough parking. This is only motel in this small town. We had trouble the in the beginning with reservation. We were told two Kings for $80, two queens for $70. No kings anywhere and the queens were $80. This was a convention price. Very unfriendly. Breakfast was nothing they said. She removed eggs, sausage. Only pancakes and a few old donuts. Keurig coffee( very expensive). Could go on but not enough room.
- rogerw160 (10/5): Update to my Update Review - This is an update to my original review on 10/4/14 and my update on 5/10/15. This 1-night stay in 10/2017 was my first time back. I was once again pleased with the stay and was very relieved that the breakfast was much improved from 2015. There were eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy, belgian waffles and fresh fruit among other items. I would say the breakfast is slightly better than the Lyons Inn, however the Lyons Inn costs $24/night less. It all depends on whether it is worth it to you to stay in Sterling.
- knit1purl2ssk (6/5): Overcharged - The room was not clean, the fridge was dirty,we found food in the freezer, tissue box was empty. We made the reservation a month ago, upon checking in we were advised the charge was $89.89. The price on their webpage was $62.99 for a King bed, when I questioned the price difference, I was told that is the cost and that was it. Upon checking out, I asked to have the manager call me. I called the manager and was informed that $62.99 is for one person, not two and that they charged us $27.00 for the second person. No where on their website does it say there will be a charge for an additional person.
- wenzels5 (8/5): Quite good for the price and location - We definitely got our money's worth. Clean functional room and breakfast included. If you're looking for more than this, then you'd better be willing to drive the distance from Hutch or Lyons! We'll stay here again.
- RTich (10/5): Top Notch small town motel - One look at the exterior of this place tells you that the owner has made major updates to this hotel. The facade is modern and very clean looking - no hint of being rundown and neglected like many small town motels. My room was clean and the air conditioner looked brand new and cooled very efficiently. The TV was all HD - very rare for a motel at in this price range. The room was clean and the electrical system was designed to accommodate today's digital world with multiple outlets for charging devices. I was very impressed.
- luvaitalian (2/5): DIRTY! DIRTY! DIRTY! - Extremely disappointed and disgusted with this place. 1st thing we do when entering the room is check for clean bedding. The fitted & flat sheet had sauce and grease stains all over the top part of the sheets. The top bedspread also had red stains resembling sauce. The pillow cases appeared to have a yellow/brown stain on 2 of the pillows. Like someone's saliva. The owner gave us another room to try. Everything was fine until I turned on the shower the next morning to take a bath and the water ran brown/rust. No showers for us! Also noticed in the morning, red food (sauce) on the comforter between the top cover and the sheets. Complained and notified the owner, showed him pictures of the dirty water in our tub, told him we couldn't take our showers this morning, he blamed it on the city..and didn't even offer us our refund, discount...nothing. Do not stay here. DIRTY! DIRTY! DIRTY! The worst $85 I ever spent. Go to Hutchinson and stay at a name brand hotel.
- R1664HRsteveo (2/5): Stay clear of this place. - I would think twice before staying here. This is a photo of the window outside of our room, sealed with duct tape. It appears that an amateur did all of the construction work here, from the poor tile floor that my son stubbed his foot on, to the crooked tile work in the shower, to the 1" thick bead of caulking around the sink. The towels still have holes in them and are stained. The rooms stink of musty stale smoke and air freshener, it's enough to make you feel nauseous. It was fairly late when we checked in, otherwise I would have left immediately. I demanded a refund for the second night and stayed in Lyons the next night. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere but here.
- erwilliams1982 (10/5): Very Comfortable Beds And Very Clean and NICE plase to stay - Very very comfortable NEW beds and the manager and his wife goes above and beyond in providing an excellent experience for your stay.
Myself and crew members of 26, were VERY surprised when we entered the rooms that was VERY clean and spacious.. Out of 26 people on the crew NOT ONE complaint. Awesome.
Very accommodating and VERY CLEAN NICE newly remolded rooms. GOOD price.
Great internet and fast wifi. Very quit motel.
Could not ask for a better motel even if I was staying in large city.
Awesome place to have cook out. The motel has NEW grills for cooking out and tables to sit and eat out on.
The owner and his wife very friendly and very nice people.
Thanks to the great staff for making our stay very enjoyable and some of the best rest I've had in a long time.
Eddie
- tysenj (2/5): Displeased - TV doesn't work, toilet wouldn't flush, heater blows cold air and whistles all night long, pen marks on the door frame, loose wires hanging from the ceiling were the smoke detector should be, bathroom fixtures in the bathtub were loose from the wall. The front desk manager tried to be very helpful by giving us a different room 3 times. Each time there was something else wrong though... The continental breakfast was cereal or a small breakfast roll.
- 258darleney (2/5): Unhappy - This inn was recently remodeled, by an amateur plumber. My first room the tub spout was 3" away from wall, as both the spout and shower head weren't anchor down. And the control handle was able to turn all the way around, then quit working. The towels were stained and with wholes. The second room's spout was better.
- K6876IJmichaelc (8/5): Very nice - This is an older motel that has been remodeled. The rooms are very nice. They look like they are new rooms. The office is also very nice. The bathroom looks nice but the toilet is a little tight next to the tub. I needed to charge some equipment but the was a dearth of available plugs. I was very disappointed with the breakfast. The website picture isn't close to what is offered. There were small cereal boxes and cellophane wrapped muffins with a flask of coffee. I went into town to get a breakfast at the cafe. There is no ice machine available. There was good wi-fi service.
- rogerw160 (8/5): Update Review - This is an update to my "Brand New Start" review from September 2014. I stayed at the fully functional Country Inn in May 2015. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. There were at least half dozen other rooms filled. Service was prompt and courteous.
The breakfast was a disappointment. It consisted of several individual boxes of cereal with milk, several choices of individually packaged muffins and pastries - the kind you could get out of a vending machine, and a small amount of fresh fruit. I wasn't expecting a hot breakfast, but at least some oatmeal if not one of those Belgian waffle makers. The breakfast was okay for 1 day, but I was hoping to go to Jethro's 2 blocks north the 2nd day, but it was Sunday and they are not open. (BTW - Sterling Cafe is open for Sunday breakfast, but I declined.) So I had the simple breakfast 2 days in a row.
The $80/night price and having to buy breakfast elsewhere makes it very expensive. I place a premium on the convenience of staying in Sterling instead of driving from Lyons or Hutch, but I'm not sure I can justify $15/night higher than Lyons Inn which has a similar breakfast (+ Belgian waffles). BTW, rooms do have mini-fridge/microwave, so if you don't mind providing for breakfast from Dillons up the street, you'd be ok.
In summary, I like the property, service and close proximity, but can't justify the price. I haven't decided if I will return next time or not.
- aariver (4/5): It is, what it is... - Let me start of with saying this building has been renovated and the new name is Country Inn, with that being said lets start.
Pros:
It looked pleasant from the outside renovations noted and kinda clean in the inside I say kinda because I'm not one to tear apart a location just because a cricket came in. Parking is good and there's a great little place place next door (next review)
Cons:
Well let's start with we got in and looked decent there here large holes on the dresses were the old TV was before the flat screens where install. The bathroom door did not lock missing door plate for lock and was miss aligned. The toilet seat was extremely loose and lol very cold when shifted. The tiles where nice but the grout was never cleaned off after applied. Garbage was found the bathroom garbage pale and old receipts where found on the floor next to the bed. There where stains on the top comforter and didn't look too appealing. Overall if these things can be overlooked or tolerated then it was a decent stay but not worth the $82 a night will stay in Hutchinson next time and drive to Sterling.
- Aejkgl (2/5): Poor service - I booked the room for my new bride and I to stay in after our wedding. I explained to the lady on the phone we would be coming in late. When we arrived at 11 pm the doors to the lobby were locked. We called the phone number and rang the after hours doorbell for 15 min and finally went to the Celebration Center Inn in Lyons. I can't say much about the rooms but the service stinks.
- 282billd (8/5): Remodeled - Nice remodeled hotel. Small but very clean. Friendly service. Comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend this place. Plan to return to this location next year. Great place for sterling college families to stay. Close to the school.
- rogerw160 (10/5): A brand new start - This review is for the Country Inn in Sterling. The Sterling Inn was purchased, renamed and completely renovated in 2014, with enlarged rooms, a new roof, a breakfast area, etc. I was the 1st guest in the re-opened motel last week. The new owner, Jay, is very nice and has invested a lot of money in this renovation. He even rented me a room 2 days before official opening while they were still trying to get the other rooms ready.
Sterling has needed this for a long time and I look forward to success. I was pleased with my stay and will definitely return, as I am in town multiple times per year. Jay also owns the Astro Motel in Hutchinson (which I know nothing about). So he has experience and I think he can make this a success, provided he can find the right local management.
There is no other option in Sterling. For years I have used the Lyons Inn in Lyons, which is mediocre, but it is more convenient for me to stay in Sterling. The Country Inn is just a couple of blocks from Jethro's Steakhouse (formerly Paddy's). I don't know anything about the steaks for supper, but they have a great breakfast for reasonable prices starting at 6AM. 2 doors down from the Inn is Dairyland for a treat. Sterling Lake is only a few blocks away - all within easy walking distance.
So please ignore any previous Sterling Inn reviews. This is now a fresh start.
