Guest Reviews
- Alberto (10/5): - N/a
- Efrain (10/5): - Convenient
- Mark (2/5): - No one was there when I got to the hotel - so I had to go to another hotel. You need to do a better job of your property listings. AND I better not be charged for this hotel since I did not and could not stay there.
- Sarah (8/5): - This property is in need of updating and investment. The internet doesn’t work, the refrigerator didn’t work at all, bare exposed wires, difficult locks. It’s so hard to load in and out and it’s spread over two buildings and one has no loading area. They do not have anyone at reception after 4 pm or until 10 am. You are on your own if you have a problem. It’s old and shabby. However, the two young women that work reception are extremely helpful and nice while they are there.
- JUNGSOO (10/5): - Good condition
- Verified traveler (2/5): Mala experiencia.
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
Seemed unattended and lacked cleanliness.
- Lillian (8/5): Espacioso , limpio , bien ubicado, original !
- Charles (10/5): zacatecas - Very clean place and friendly staff.
- Jose Luis (8/5): Very Good! - I love this hotel
- Carrol (8/5): - It was an old convent transformed into a beautiful hotel. Our room was huge with a little kitchen however had no utensils, no MW, no plates or coffee etc. it was pricey. Pet deposit we paid was $400 pesos per pet per night. We have 2 cats and we stayed 2 nights Beds were so comfortable. Didn’t have screens in the windows so we had to keep them closed so our cats would not go out. No AC but was comfortable. Not sure if I would stay there again with pets, but would if they were not with me. Had to use our translator on our phone. Owner did not speak any English and my Spanish is extremely limited.
- HIDENORI (8/5): Friendly and kind staff. - It is difficult to find parking space same as other city in Mexico. But Hotel staff try to find it kindly.
My friend's room was 3rd floor with terrace and good view, and comfortable living room. Comparing with that, my room was worse, no view, out of the bed room window is steep path, no independent living room,,,. if not compare, no problem and reasonable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Me gusto ,
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A charming , authentic hostal. Soledad, the owner is a super host.
- Aida (10/5): Excellent stay - Lovely stay! The room was cline and cozy. Very close to downtown which is a must
- Sebastian (10/5): - Excellent service and staff. Highly recommend to anyone traveling with a pet :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a traditional hotel. Still had some of the original fixtures that made it very unique.
- SteveB (10/5): - Very spacious. Boutique. Great view of garden parks.
- Kellie (10/5): too hot to sleep - Loved the hotel. only request would be ceiling fans since no ac in hotels.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful historic building, close to everything. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was lovely! Soledad just makes the place - she was wonderful. perfect location.
- keikoo356 (6/5): Ripoff - For a charming old hotel right in the center of town, Hotel del Vasco was surprisingly devoid of charm. Despite being “pet friendly” they charged us extra for our dog, a third the price of the room. They gave us a room right off the lobby that was noisy, drafty, and dark, lacking any drinking glasses or bottled water and with dirty towels hanging in the closet. The “free parking” consists of whatever is available on the street, so we had to park elsewhere which they warned us was “less safe.” The noise from the street went on until 2 a.m., the heater did was disconnected, the wi-fi would not stay connected (because of thick walls, they said), while the entire hotel full of much better rooms sat completely empty. Basically the management seems much more interested in money than hospitality.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hotel colonial - Hermoso, te transportas a otra época.
- rthomas34 (10/5): Great Place in Downtown Zacatecas! - Stopped at this hotel after trying in vain to find another I was looking for. Couldn't be happier. I was in Zac the week prior to Easter. Not a great time for finding rooms on the fly. I got lucky! This place was clean and roomy and for a great price. Location was excellent. Just down the street from the main downtown area where all the events were taking place. The employees were extremely friendly. I loved this place so much that I decided to spend another night for a total of 3 nights. It was great.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We did not stay at this property, the hotel was unhealthy and smelled horrible!!! We hope to get a refund!!!
- Dorothy (8/5): Beautiful Hotel - This is a beautiful hotel located on the town square. They accommodated my 5 dogs and 1 cat as we were traveling to our new home on the Pacific coast. We were charged extra but learned that the lion's share of that money gets donated to a canine rescue. My only complaint was that there was no fan in the room to help to make the room temp more comfortable. That said, we intend to return to Zacatecas for a long weekend with our daughter and son in law and we intend to book the same hotel.
- John (10/5): - This was a great place for us to stay, and we have done so before. We travel twice a year on this route with our two cats who are more than welcome there A family run hotel with a lot of old Mexico charm right in the center of town with lots of restaurants and things to do. The only issue is parking- but if you are lucky enough to snag a spot out front, you are good to go.
- daddyogrande (6/5): Really nice place, got hit with extra charges though. - Beautiful colonial era hotel, very friendly staff, good location. Walking distance to the cathedral and many restaurants. Specifically chose this place because it's pet friendly, but they charged an extra $400 peso pet fee (about $20 US). They also would only take cash (even though I have a mexican credit card). After the taxes and the pet fee it kinda cleaned me out for cash. Which bugged me.
- Nancy (10/5): A piece of Classic Zacatecas - Situated right on the Plaza Alameda, a most charming area of Centro, the location was hard to beat. Yeah, it was noisy at night, but hey, it wasn't the 'burbs! The staff was very friendly and while we had no common language we all made do. Large well-appointed room, very friendly to our dog. Thick brick/stone walls made wifi weak from within the room. Superb coffee in the morning. The owner must love birds, and lots of them.
- Esteban (10/5): Charming and clean hotel - First off, this is a hotel in Mexico. You should not expect and rate based on a hotel in the US. That being said, the hotel was very comfortable, clean, and the staff was very polite and helpful. The rooms were cleaned everyday with complimentary bottle water left. For parking, they offer street parking outside the hotel with a couple of spots blocked off. We only had an issue once during the day finding parking and the staff was very helpful with finding us a spot a few blocks down. The shower was great with plenty of hot water (just need to turn the hot water knob all the way and add cold water knob as necessary). The doors took a little getting used to from a security and privacy standpoint but the staff was helpful in showing how to close and lock and your bedroom is separated from the main room (can see through keyhole). Overall though it felt very secure and the staff was onsite 24 hours. The rooms can be a little noisy since you are right by the park where people congregate and they have live music on the weekends but this is part of the charm of the city. I would highly recommend especially based on the cost in comparison to hotels in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Noce place to stay, conftorble and realy nice people.
- Nino Gabriel (8/5): - Wifi was pretty bad but the rest was great.
- musicagallica (10/5): A Splendid Six-Night Stay at Hostal del Vasco - Having happy memories of stays in past years at this welcoming, well located and atmospheric accommodation, I returned to spend the first week of March 2016 there with two friends. During that time Proprietress Leonor Gonzales Falcon and her staff were extremely kind and helpful, serving delicious breakfasts, looking to our every comfort and sharing valuable advice and information, resulting in an entirely pleasant and memorable stay. Highly recommended!
- leonorf2013 (10/5): I recommend it/ Lo recomindo - This hotel is unique. It has the feeling of a boutique hotel. It is warm and welcoming. Comfortable. It is well located. You can walk everywhere in town. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious. A must.
- TravelingCat22 (8/5): Charming hotel, not far from the center - Less than 900 pesos for 4 for a suite with first room as living room with kitchenette and then large bedroom with 2 big beds. Very high ceilings. We had a view on the alameda.
Just south of the center, easy walking distance.
It has a home-feel being located in a very old mansion. Has kept the huge heavy keys of old times.
Zacatecas has nicer hotels but for this price, this is the best choice.
