Guest Reviews
- Tom (8/5): Meet our needs - Location Aging
- Shannon (3/5): Do NOT stay here if you like hot water - The staff is really friendly. The location is unbeatable. They were very accommodating when booking the reservation. They allow dogs. Love the pool and the water slide. I stayed here for 3 nights. The bathroom was terrible. The water was luke warm at best. Do NOT stay here if you like hot showers. On my first day, I told the staff about the luke warm water (the kind that you stand under and question “is this warm or cold water?”), they told me I needed to wait for the maintenance guy who would come tomorrow. When he did finally come on my last day, he replaced the shower head but the water never got warmer. The first time I spoke with the staff, I asked the staff if we could change rooms to one with a warmer shower and they said they were completely booked. Then at least 3 rooms remained empty for the rest of our stay. At one point, the staff let me take a shower in the room next to us which even they acknowledged had hot water, but I was never given a chance to move. If I paid $100 a night, I wouldn’t be upset but this hotel charges over $200 a night and there’s no hot water. The bathroom had other issues as well: missing drain in the sink, towel hook ripped off door and only holes reminding you where it was, no trim around the door frame so noise travels freely from room to room.
Will not stay here again. Which is sad because I love the location and the fact that they are dog friendly.
- Erik (7/5): Enjoyed our stay here. - Comfy bed, good AC, beautiful views Water wasn’t working when we arrived. Weird water pressure throughout stay. Lack of usual hotel amenities in the room (blow dryer, coffee maker, TV).
- Brent (10/5): Whale watching from our room, friendly staff and relaxing in an old school Mexican hotel, it doesn’t get better than tha - Small intimate hotel with lovely staff and ultimate location overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed the sunsets from our veranda and the beach and view were spectacular. If we had a complaint the AC unit was noisy.
- Chris (8/5): Close t perfect. - Laid back, oceanside. Very relaxing Minimal room comforts. No tv, coffee maker, fridge etc.
- Lawrence (9/5): Relaxing stay with a great quiet beach for walking. - The property was simple and very clean. The location Is great. Right on the water. The café was very good as well. Fresh and healthy food. No tv in the room. Be ready to disconnect from that part of the world. Wifi was strong if you needed it. All in all it was a very relaxing five days. The sunsets were awesome each evening.?
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Location is amazing.
- James L (5/5): Overall it’s decent - Beachfront nice quiet beach Room is run down. Lots of cockroaches in the room. Room balcony furniture in bad condition. This hotel used to be very nice and used to be well managed. Not anymore
- Karla (8/5): -
- barry (8/5): It was a beautiful break on the beach on the North Pacific Ocean - The closeness to the beach & views. Not told about no breakfast service/kitchen closed on Mondays.

- Kee (10/5): Excellent - Great Everything was great

- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Eugenio (5/5): Passable - Pretty location but really rustic all around. Nice people working but the place could use an upgrade.

- Gigli (10/5): Exceptional -

- Alexandra (8/5): Great beach access, away from it all. Fabulous food and staff, you don’t need to go anywhere! - Directly located on a beautiful beach. Rooms were big and comfortable, but could use fresh coat of paint. This did not compromise our enjoyment in any way.
- Jamie (8/5): Beach location was a highlight for us, and your friendly staff - yStaff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was tasty, well prepared and artistically presented. Property was beautiful. For what we paid, a few extra touches would have made our experience more enjoyable.
- supply a hairdryer in each room
- paint the wall area where there there had been a repair. (we were in room #4)
- no TV
- supply a table and chair
- Amanda (8/5): Very good - Clean comfortable room right on the huge, quiet beach. Only disappointment was that the hot tub was cold.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Duvall (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (8/5): Great! - Great location! Pool is not heated.
- Kelly (9/5): Loves it, would stay again and recommend. - We loved the beach views and porch facing the water and sunset. Great food, great service. Clean. The garden area near the pool is beautiful.
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Collette (9/5): Wonderful beachfront oasis - Where to start, this exceeded my expectations, I was thinking little rustic and maybe run down but it was amazing. Room was large and spotlessly clean, shower was fantastic. Walking into the little courtyard and seeing the pool was so tranquil then walking through the hotel to see the most amazing beach right outside was pretty spectacular. My bed was really comfortable and king size. Bathroom modern. The food is also amazing and I could eat watching the ocean. Breakfast is served at 8am and there's tea / coffee to help yourself. There is a reading corner with a large amount of books, mainly in English left by tourists, and an amazing roof terrace so you can watch the sunrise over the hills. You can hear the crashing of the waves, which adds to the charm, but I also used my ear plugs. This place is somewhere I'd come back to Baja for. Unfortunately there was no hairdryer in the room, I guess I could have asked for one but I just 'went feral' for a day. Also the road is a dirt track, I only had a sedan so I was a little concerned, it was ok but might be a bit more difficult in wet weather. If coming from Cabo you need to go past and U turn a little further up the highway, it is sign posted. The curtains didn't close fully, little crack which let in the light, pretty normal for most hotels so not a negative, I just used an eye mask. I wanted to watch the sunrise anyway
- Darrell (8/5): Very good - Quiet location, excellent food
- Sean (9/5): Superb - Very good
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Wanda (7/5): Pseudo Luxury Beach Bum Hangout, Perfect Location - Great with the proper exceptions. Our beach front unit had a public table right outside our door along with hot tub and we had to keep the curtains closed or people could look right in. It didn't matter later at night when everyone went to bed, though. The ocean was wonderfully loud - the whales plentiful. It is kind of a beach bum type hangout. It is not an upscale name brand resort - local entrepreneurs. You are paying for the location which is superb. Food was pretty good. Ceviche mediocre. Margaritas good. (drinking was a must - when In Rome, surrounded by Romans-read between lines) Staff was good. Halfway between being a guest at somebody's house, and a resort. Food not really a bargain but ALL of Cabo is that way. We loved it - just don't expect pristine privacy. Long dirt washboard road to property - not a big deal, really - you are in Baja, after all! Public area right outside our room door. It is what it is.
- Peter (10/5): Great stay - The team staff were wonderful Location
- Michelle (3/5): Don’t waste your money, this place needs to lower their prices to get more business. Disappointing - Right on the beach Value for money was brutal. Our room was so sad. Smelt like sewage. Only thing good about the room was the bed was comfy. Everything else reminded me of a crap motel
- Mollyd (8/5): Fantastic overnight at the beach. - Great old school Mexican Inn fabulous location and service No small fridge in room
Needed a blanket
- William (9/5): isolated, with all necessities to make a memorable desert beach vacation in Baja. good drinks & food - incredible location. beautiful traditional inn on a desert beach. black out curtains would have been better.
- Bonita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - The food and cocktails were amazing! The staff were friendly and accommodating!! You can't beat the location and whale watching every morning was incredible. We very much enjoyed our stay !!
- Jill (10/5): Wonderful Boutique Inn - Gorgeous quiet location. Comfortable with great food onsite. The staff was fabulous. My favorite place to stay.
- Julius (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefan (10/5): Fantastic - The location is a dream. If you want to stay at a fantastic beach in BCS, this is the place to go to. The hotel have high quality and don‘t disturb the atmosphere at the beach too much. If you have luck you can see dolphins and whales in the bay. The sunset is unforgetable.
- Kristina (6/5): Pleasant - The staff were very friendly The bed was terribly lumpy and uncomfortable. The lighting in the rooms and bathrooms were terrible.
- Tveit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rick (7/5): Great location and friendly service. Think it's a bit over priced, as the place is rundown. - Breakfast was good, but could have been included in the price.
Great location. Place needs a facelift.
- Nicole (10/5): Beautiful Beachfront Boutique Accomodation - Very quiet at night and safe beachfront neighborhood. Loved the boutique hotel!
- Marlene (7/5): Good -
- Fariselli (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janice (10/5): Definitely stay here at least tonight or longer - The food was excellent. Our room had a nice view of the ocean, and there were plenty of place to sit outside to enjoy the views. Wonderful to walk along the beach either direction.
- Shillo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Doug (10/5): Great Beach Hotel good value - It is the perfect beach hotel. It has a great feel. You are right on the beach you can see smell and hear the ocean at all times. The food is very good staff friendly and helpful. I have stayed 2 different times and will be back.
- Darby (9/5): This is beautiful inn and ideal location. About 1 mile away from main surf city Cerritos. The beach out front is desolat - Spectacular ocean view from patio and main area
- Pete (9/5): Perfect quiet (except for the waves), relaxing, oceanfront stay! - Scenery and location are second to none!!
Restaurant is amazing!
- Filipe (8/5): Very good -
- Pete (9/5): Mind, Body, and Spirit Rejuvination - Idyllic location with huge waves crashing all day on a fairly secluded beach. Amazing food served at the restaurant too!!
- Antonia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bart (7/5): Little over priced considering the accommodations were 2 star -
- Jocelyn (4/5): not good - The pool is nice. They have a jacuzzi that was cold the whole time except on the morning wewere leaving. If I had known they could heat it up, it would have been nice to use it. I contacted the hotel before my travel date to request a late check-in. What sounded like an annoyed teenager told me it was her mum's hotel and that she would pass on the message. I told her it was important as I was arriving with my 2-year-old.
When we arrived at the hotel the doors were closed and no one answered. After knocking a few times and calling them on the phone, we went through the back and were able to get in through the pool door but there was no one there to help. After several minutes I found my key and booking on the table bar and were able to get into our room.
The next day there was no apology or anything they simply said no one had told them about the late check-in.
Also, during our whole stay there they didn't clean the room.
- Amy (7/5): Good - You can't beat the location. It's right on the beach but private and inexpensive, which makes it a rare find. It also caters to a mix of locals (utilizing a day pass for the pool) and visitors, which makes it feel less touristy. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts - a mix of American and Mexican options. The furnishings are a bit worn down and the complimentary shampoos/soaps aren't that great. It would have also been nice if information about local attractions and restaurants were provided. We've stayed at this inn when it was under different ownership, and those owners were always present and made a point to connect with guests. The new owners were not present, and the staff, while friendly didn't go out of their way to connect with guests, so the experience felt less special.
- Wale (6/5): relaxing, - The location is great the hotel in on the beach. Our room opened onto the beach. The veranda/balcony of our room didn't have any furniture, I had to go and borrow some from the beach dining area. The room was painted a strange blue green colour. The outside area had string lights (bulbs hung from cables) in the area at night, but these were so low that they caused a bright glare and made it difficult to see past the patio, which ment you could not see the ocean in the evening, if you shielded your eyes you could. These lights need to be above 3m and lower watt bulbs. The food was nice and large portions, but expensive for the area.
- Evan (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Superb - Excellent in all ways
- Amp (10/5): Exceptional - All towels in the room were not changed and one bed had sand in it. one bed had sand in it.
- Barbanell (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Borja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Blanca (4/5): The employees were friendly and polite - Proximity to the beach
- Mac (8/5): Good place to relax on beach. But nothing else near by. - Right on beach. Clean. Not easy to find at night. Dirt road.
- Lindsay (10/5): Great spot and we would return for sure! - Excellent location, staff, food. Plenty of towels for its on-ocean location. Rooms could be a bit brighter and cozy.
- Anonymous (9/5): Great views but a bit dated. Staff is wonderful. - It’s right on the ocean and absolutely beautiful. It’s a bit run down. It’s seems like it’s run on a shoestring budget and they don’t even turn the pool lights on at night.
- Angie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Doherty (9/5): Superb -
- Hayley (9/5): Small hotel on the beach with tasty restaurant. - Restaurant was tasty. Nice walking on beach right in front. Lots of parking. Mosquitos in rooms.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Perfect and inviting. Poor is also another relaxing area. - The location is one of our favorite. Whale watching, amazing beach walking and the staff is spot on! Nothing
- Donya (7/5): Great location if you like being right at the beach without the crowds! - I was fortunate to get a room overlooking the beach so that made the stay much nicer. Breakfast was very good. A few things. I was there for 5 nights and there was no cleaning/maid service the whole time! There were no hooks on the door or walls to hang towels, one of the towel racks was loose and kept coming apart. There was only one light switch for the toilet and the rest of the sink/shower area. No shower curtain meant little or no privacy when showering. Screens on both sides of the sliding patio door to the room would have been appreciated. The hot tub jacuzzi was out of order. While none of these was a deal breaker, it would make me think twice about staying there again.
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Great staff at front desk and running the restaurant.
- Nils (5/5): Could be an amazing place because of location and view - but unfortunately not worth the cost - The location is perfect. Away from everything and everyone. The view is spectacular. Sunset directly across the water each night. Saw so many whales. The wait staff are super responsive. Room was very basic and run/worn down. We had to ask for patio chairs so we could sit on our balcony to enjoy the view. When you first walk into the hotel the pool area was not inviting at all (dirty, old chairs, abandoned?). Felt like the focus was more on good service for restaurant patrons rather than hotel guests.
- Osterberg (9/5): Romantic beach getaway - The food from the hotel restaurant was wonderful, and was very affordably priced for a in hotel restaurant.
- Helen (9/5): Lovely place on the beach. - Great location and lovely beach. Nice room. Everything met our expectations.
- Jessica (6/5): Beautiful budget friendly hotel but unkept to the sharp eyed guest. - The common areas are beautiful, and the dinner I ordered was delicious. Sunset over the ocean is always wonderful too. The room had an overpowering scented air freshener. There was a large clump of hair on the shower floor. The do not disturb tag for my room door was really dilapidated to the point of gross. The window and screen were covered in dirt - yet it has been a week since hurricane Norma passed over. Hard to judge harshly though as I have no idea how hard the storm hit this location.
- Robert (10/5): Julie was a very accommodating jewel. Would stay there again, great location - The big king bed and conditioning Loud noisy up late neighbors
- Anonymous (10/5): Great service and value! - Location, cleanliness, food and staff N/A
- George (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bryony (8/5): Very good - This hotel was lovely - great location and grounds for the price. The staff were all very friendly. The restaurant was a little overpriced, but they had a great happy hour.
- Brandon (8/5): Very good -
- Toni (8/5): Amazing place!!! - Amazing views!!! Attentive staff No tv in rooms
- David (7/5): Enjoyed the hospitality and sea views at this property. Great value if you don’t need luxury. - Right on the beach- room had large balcony overlooking the sea. Owner was very friendly and informative. You need drive a half mile off the hwy on rough dirt road to reach the property. Property is a bit isolated - which is good if you are looking for seclusion.
- Ross (9/5): Superb -
- Cesar (10/5): Amazing views and place - Just in front of the ocean with beach access to go on nice and long walks. Amazing views amazing facilities, everything was perfect. Everything was fine.
- Guillaume (10/5): Exceptional - Front beach. Nice swimming pool. Awesome view.
Good restaurant.
