Actually I have booked through Booking.com also paid full amount, but once I arrived Receptionist asked me pay here, I have explained but they told payment should done here only, so I have paid second time same amount. Now some convocation going on to return my any one amount, this type is not to happen again.
• Shridhar (10/5): A wonderful place to stay and eat in whilst visiting Kumbakonam. - The location of this hotel was excellent, the rooms were large, the AC cold, the water hot, and the water pressure phenomenal. The restaurant attached to the hotel was 10/10 in terms of taste, value, and freshness of the food. Even the North Indian fare was amazing which was a welcome surprise. We did try finding "other" restaurants to go to, but Kumbanonam is a bit of a dump overall with nothing else going for it except an oversupply of temples (which were all wonderful). I personally don't plan to visit Kumbakonam ever again but Raya's will be the place I stay and eat in if I'm forced to change my mind. The folks at the reception were friendly, but the rest of the staff could smile a little more.

They were happy to change my room and helped me move. Parking Couldn't get wifi on my uk phone. They tried to help, but couldn't. No problems at every other hotel.
• Suresh (6/5): - Toilet was not properly pest controlled. There were always insects and flies in the toilet. Hot water was not coming several times. Cleanliness not adequate. I expected Raya's maintain good standard. Unfortunately the standard has degraded.
• G (9/5): Rooms are good value for money. But food not upto you he mark. - Rooms are good. Good staff. Food is horrible. Terminate this contract Rice n spice. When we entered restaurant at 2 pm on 21st Jan, meals not available. After waiting for 20 minutes, they provided variety food like curd rice etc. Even during dinner, food was not upto mark. Horrible experience.

• Parthasarathy (9/5): Good Location to visit temples - Raya's brand apparently has 7 hotels in Kumbakonam. Raya's Grand we stayed is the luxury unit. It was. Our goal was to visit all the temples in Kumbakonam and surroundings. This was an excellent hotel to do this. This is right opposite to the Mahamaham tank, so it is very walkable to many temples including Sarangapani, Kumbeswaran, Someswaran, Kashi Viswanathan temples. Of course, all other temples around the area is accessible via tour operators. Hotel provides that too, we did not use it. I had some challenge with currency exchange, for some reason local ATMs did not take my US card. Apparently, the Restaurant is a separate entity, so room service and payment are separate. This could be made transparent to the hotel guests. Otherwise, it was an excellent stay. One issue we had was hot water. It was a bit challenging, we managed it, but something hotel can fix for future guests.

• amitc1964 (10/5): Divine feeling to stay at Raya's backed by humility and care from their staff! - I am deeply impressed with the Founder of Raya Group; he must be a big visionary to be able to build a hotel like this. There is nothing you can complain of... the food has great quality, it is served promptly, the help desk has umpteen staff, so any of them shows up moment you call 9; the rooms and the entire hotel is constantly cleaned and looks just spick and span, it has a feeling of divinity staying there. I just felt out of the world! They have a cafeteria in front of the Hotel, that food is also outstanding! The bathroom must have an exhaust fan with some more modern attachments.

They are least helpful. Nor are they efficient in processing checkin or check out. Drive way is the worst. Going in and coming out is a challenge.
