Guest Reviews
- Tero (8/5): Old town apartementos - Historiallinen, mutta nykyaikaisesti sisustettu ja välttämättömät keittiötarvikkeet sisältävä huoneisto kahdessa kerroksessa. Jos on vähänkin liikkumisvaikeuksia ei kannata. Sama tilanne tosin koko vanhan kaupungin alueella.
- Nicola (10/5): - Lovely, clean apartment ideal for exploring the Old Town. Endless local dining options. We would definitely book again.
- Lael (10/5): - Perfect location and extremely clean !!
- Virginija (8/5): - a compact room in an old building, with all the necessary amenities and charm.
- Rose Marie (10/5): - Very nice little apartment in the very best location!
- John (10/5): - In the heart of the city centre. Had a lovely stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hyvä majoitus - Todella hyvä ja siisti majoitus hyvällä paikalla ja varustelutasolla.
Ohuet seinät ja lattiat, joten äänet kantautuu naapurihuoneista. Herkkäunisimmat korvatulpat mukaan!
- Yat (10/5): Great location and comfortable place to rest! - Located close to the Buza gate and within the Old Town, Apartments Bottega was a fantastic location from which to rest and start from each day.
Clear communication was provided before arrival with directions from the airport and getting into the accommodation meaning a relaxing journey.
The rooms were set across two floors which was perfect for the family with the en-suite and kitchen providing useful facilities by way of microwave, fridge and plates/cups etc.
The beds were comfortable and there was sufficient relaxing seating if required.
TV facilities were available and WiFi access was provided and of good speed.
Perhaps the most exciting thing was staying in part of the history!
- Annette (10/5): - Brilliant location. Lovely clean split level apartment. Really good for when one of you wants to sleep longer. So easy to get to from Buza gate.
- JEFFREY ACOSTA (8/5): - Close to the center of attractions. Walking distance to dining.
- Catherine (8/5): - Lots of stairs but that’s the Old Town Dubrovnik! Very exciting area to stay. Small apartment but had most things we needed. Shower very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I'm so glad I booked this room. It was perfect. Stayed 3 nights. Clean and just right for one or two people. The host communicated well about how to find it and also suggested parking areas that were not too far.
You definitely need to be ok walking up and down steps if you stay in the old city. Dubrovnik is magical and this place made it so comfortable to come and go. Would highly recommend and stay here again!
- Karen (10/5): - I arrived hours before check-in, but the owner was waiting and graciously let me in to the spotless apartment. Very comfortable, cozy, modern, excellent location just a two minute walk (without too many stairs!) from Buza Gate. Quite close to my favorite restaurant, Dalmatino, as well as lots of others. A supermarket is also close by.
To get down to the man street (Stradun), however, you have to descend a zillion stone steps, so if you have trouble with stairs, I don’t recommend staying in the Old City!
- francisco (10/5): Good location. - Excellent location. Get ready for stairs, stairs, and more stairs. Back packing is most practical. Otherwise keep luggage at carryon at the largest.
We were reminded that this is not a hotel. it's a private residence that is rented out. The top room's bed was very hard. Benefits are the location, cleanliness, and cold A/C.
- Alex (10/5): - Incredibly centrally located, and it was very easy to check in and out, with good communication with hosts via WhatsApp provided in the booking confirmation.
Remember to enter via Busa gate to avoid all the steps (as advised by the hosts when you confirm your arrival time on WhatsApp).
We were in the ground floor flat, which is a small space but was very clean with good aircon. This was everything we needed for our stay and we’re really happy with it. Only comment would be that you can hear footsteps from the flat above when they enter and leave, but that didn’t bother us or keep us up!
Overall an excellent place to stay in old town for a few nights - thanks for having us!
- Nicholas (10/5): - Very nice and in the perfect spot!
- Jade (8/5): - The apartments location is perfect, we were a very short walk from everything we had booked to do and to have a look around the old town was easy. Apartment was well maintained, looked new inside. Only downfall was when they came to clean mid week they hadn’t done the floors so it was very dirty and gritty when walking barefoot. But overall would definitely recommend.
- Linda (10/5): Romantic and adventurous - Newly remodeled apartment, beautiful and great location. Bring comfortable shoe there is a lot of stairs. The host is very kind. Old Town is a magical town truly amazing. Culinary is the pivot point of this town. Insane clubs and bars. Croatians are very hospitable. My wife and I fell in love with old town.
- Pina (10/5): - Fab greeting by host. Great location. Very well kept and clean.
- Dirk (10/5): - Super nice and Cozy Room in the old town of Dubrovnik. Nice people. Perfect Location for a Dubrovnik Visit.
- young (10/5): - Wonderful
Very clean and comfortable
- Claude (10/5): - Wunderschöne Unterkunft. Top Ausstattung. Inmitten der Altstadt. Sehr sauber alles ganz neu. Küche, Klima, TV sehr schöne Dusche. Preis Leistung Top.
- Carlos (10/5): - Easy to check in, very professional, apartment was spacious and the location was just wow, walking distance of 5-10 minutes to main attractions so if you are looking to spend few days in Dubrovnik Apartment Bottega is your place to be!! BTW if you have problems with steps up and down then just considered staying here because here you have to go up and down a lot!!
- Vanessa (10/5): Beautiful stay in Dubrovnik old town! - This is a beautiful apartment - really well presented & in an excellent location in the old town. We were very comfortable & the owner really looked after us. Thank you!
- Christopher (8/5): Great location! - Small but very convenient apartment. Great communications from start to finish. Amazing location for access to the old town.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay place to stay but very basic - The apartment was okay, it has a bed and a bathroom. However the walls are thin so you can hear people nearby. The internet is one of the slowest I’ve encountered and very unreliable, and there is no desk in the room. Also there is little or no natural light in the room.
- Harry (10/5): - Small and cosy, great location in the centre of Dubrovnik.
- Cecillia (10/5): - This property was spacious and sparkling clean. The manager was very kind and helpful. Great place to stay!
- Charlotte (10/5): Highly recommend: great location and a nice room - Lovely room in an incredible location. Just far enough up some steps that you don’t get noise from the street. You can hear the people in the room above but this wasn’t an issue for me as they just came back and went to bed the same as me. I would suggest taking an eye mask and earplugs though just because the rooms have fridges which hum through the night and the door to the street in my room didn’t have a curtain so the street lamps can seem quite bright if you’re used to sleeping in a very dark room. But those are just tips to make your stay even better. I would highly recommend Apartments Bottega - nice room, perfect location, great price and lovely owner.
- Fabia (8/5): Great apartment, Great location. - Me and my boyfriend stayed here for our trip to Dubrovnik.
Location for this apartment, well you couldn’t get any better! You’re right in the heart of the city so no worry about having to travel in.
Accommodation was on the smaller side, however we hardly spent any time in the room/apartment, so it suited us perfectly. Being in the city walls, the walls are pretty thin so you could hear a lot of noise from the apartment above.
The owners of the apartment were incredibly friendly and also gave us lots of recommendations for great places to go! Also was gifted a bottle of local wine which was a treat!
As the apartments there were newly renovated, we did run into a small issue with water coming through the ceiling from the apartments shower above. However the owners rushed around within 20 minutes and sorted it promptly and a plumber was in the next morning.
My only issue was there was no where to dry clothing (as we had gone to the beach) also our wet towels, leaving our clothes to unfortunately smell damp.
However I would highly recommend this for a place to stay and it was great value for money!
- Liz (4/5): - Shower is SUPER TINY...very uncomfortable to shower in and hot water was limited. We only got two towels for a three day stay for two people. Also, be prepared to walk a lot of steps to get the the apartment as it’s located next to the wall by the Buža entrance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location , nice duplex apartment, comfortable bed ( surprisingly unusual in this kind of rental). All good.
- Joe&Dolly (10/5): - Location is central within the city wall, but too small. It is clean and renovated. We didnt use it much just slept in it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Inside old town. Located in perfect place. Apartments are new and remodeled. Very nice place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location inside the walls, closeness to gate which helped with carrying g luggage and convenient to restaurants and plaza area
- hugh (6/5): - The room is very small. It like all other locations are on a steep hill side.
- Clément (10/5): Super. - Très bel appartement très propre. Prévoir un sac à dos cars accès à pied uniquement.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel has a great location right in the middle of old town Dubrovnik. I believe the construction of the apartment is pretty new and everything was clean and sparkling bright!
Host had all of the amenities such as plates, glasses, coffee maker, salt, pepper, olive oil and fridge. No safe in the room. Room is not overly large, but we spent very little time in there!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Asunto on aivan loistavalla paikalla vanhassa kaupungissa, kävelymatkan päässä oikeastaan kaikesta!
Gracias Neve
- Michael (10/5): Great base for seeing Dubrovnik old town - Good location inside the walls of Dubrovnik old town. Very friendly and helpful welcome with tips on sights and places to eat. Apartment had been recently refurbished and was spotless. We booked a room for two adults and a child although it turned out to be an apartment on two floors so our son had his own room. Only thing to be aware of is that stairs are quite steep and narrow but that is due to the location. Use Buza gate for access.
- Andreas (10/5): - Near the city centre, all clean and friendly staff.and nothing to complain.
- PJM (10/5): - Located within the walls of Old Town. The apartment was clean and appeared recently renovated. I had the upstairs 2BR on 2 floors. Quite private.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Sehr schöne, neue, saubere und zentrale Unterkunft in der Innenstadt :)
- Veronica (10/5): - Cozy department. Great location in old town Dubrovnik
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It ist a very very nice Location. Everything you need is included.
- Mattias (10/5): Best location to stay - Best location you could think of on a quite street in busy busy oldtown. Close to everything and a authentic medivial atmosphere around the apartment. The Apt itself is compact but cooled and nice. The host was very kind and gave me brief overview of all the attractions.
- Duncan (10/5): Lovely apartment, quite but close to everything - We stayed in 5 different places in Croatia this summer and this was my favorite. A really well done renovation with modern appliances and bathrooms but keeping the period character of the building. Our kids had the upstairs room (with kitchen) and my wife and I had the lower room (on the 2nd floor). Both of the upper two floors are separated from the downstairs by a lockable gate in the stairway. The host was lovely and gave us lots of information about the town. Beware, there are plenty of stairs to get to the apartment, but this makes it really full of character. Check out the view over the town rooftops from the corner window in the top floor room. The only possible negative is that given the size of this old building, there's not much room for luggage - so travel light if you can. I would love to stay here again!
- Julio Ricardo (8/5): Small, many stairs - Nice apartment but very small!
Quite a bit of stairs to go in and out so if you have any limitations physically this is definitely not the place for you.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The apartment was cozy and clean. It had a good kitchenette and the AC worked well. We thought we were going to enjoy our stay.
HOWEVER, the walls, despite being medieval stone, were "paper thin" - we were in the bottom unit of a three-unit apartment block, each room stacked on top of the other, and everything that happened in the stairwell and the room above came right into our space - loud, vibrating and impossible to ignore! Do NOT stay here if there are other people staying in the rooms above you (I suspect we could be heard in the units above as well).
It was absolutely a nightmare the first night, because it was completely quiet until 10:30pm - and then the people above us arrived! Quiet hours are supposedly 9pm-8am - why set those hours if you're going to allow guests to arrive after 9pm?? Seriously - we were jolted out of our bed! It was like a herd of elephants arriving!
The last night, the folks staying above us had left. That was the only peaceful night we had. The other days, we could hear their alarm going off as if it was in the same room with us!
The manager never came back after the first day, even though she said she needed more info from us. Plus we owed city tax, as far as I knew, but she didn't come back to collect it. We were left entirely on our own (we could have used fresh towels by the third day...).
The noise situation alone makes this place unacceptable. It's cute and cozy, but that doesn't make up for the noise!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Ellie&Izzy - This apartment (which is one of 3 available) is not as expected as it is merely a tiny basement room. There are no facilities such as a wardrobe or drawers to store clothes. There is no double bed as stated but a basic sofa bed which is pushed into a corner with approximately 1 foot of space on the other 2 sides. There is no window and the only ventilation is via the front door which opens straight onto a steep stepped street. The kitchen area is only the size a double cupboard. The staircase to the upstairs apartment/room runs through this apartment hence removing more space from this already tiny room and is very noisy when the upstairs occupants use them. Due to these reasons and the fact we had paid over £1100 for a week we asked to check out after spending a mere 6 hours in this 'so called' apartment as it was totally unsuitable for a week's accommodation for 2 adults at this price.
- Michael (10/5): Great apartment and great location - Spent 2 nights here in an apartment in a great location. Excellent service including being met by the agent where our taxi dropped us off and taken to our apartment where we shown how everything worked and given an excellent briefing on the city including what to old and where to go. The apartment was well appointed, in a great location with excellent facilities including gat wifi and the quotes air conditioning I have ever seen. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.
- Anja (8/5): Cute place but... - The studio apartment is very cute, very clean and in a great location in the old city. It's super tiny but we were happy with the accommodations since we were not planning to spend much time in the room. Until it was time to check out...
We were off-put was the rudeness of the owner/property manager. Check out was at 10am. We were all ready and packed at 10am but took a couple of minutes to look up where we can store our bags in town. (Also, it's the only place in Croatia that wouldn't store our bags. We stayed at three private apartments and two hotels.) The manager knocked at 10:04 and just said, "It's time to go. Hand over the key." No courtesy greeting or anything. I felt he was treating us as squatters even though we were dressed, packed and on our way out. Clearly no usual 15min courtesy window. Next time, we'll stay somewhere else!
- David (10/5): - Dubrovnik is beautiful - I recommend sea kayaking - not as tiring as it sounds, even though it wasn't the calmest of days
- Bethany (8/5): Nice place in old town - The apartment was great. A little strange in the way it's set up with going up stairs to an iron gate, that locks, and you come to the first bedroom and a very small bathroom. Up another flight is the kitchen, a pull out couch and a larger bathroom. We came in at night and communicated that to the hotel ahead of time but no one was there to meet us. I called and she came right away. Could have been an issue if I couldn't of used my phone. Check out was early, 10 am. They were there at 9:45 and were irritated when we asked if we could leave our bags to get breakfast. We came back by 10:01 and got our stuff as we just went to a local bakery. All and all great location and clean but service was a bit un accommodating.
- Kyle (10/5): Great location and host - The location was incredible, inside the old city wall and just far enough away from the busier streets.
The host was incredibly friendly and helpful and greeted us with a bottle of local wine and assisted in a last minute check-in request within minutes.
- camilo (10/5): Includes all that you need - I stayed here 3 nights with my wife. As you can see in the pictures it is a very small apartment however it is very confortable for 2 and includes all types of things you might need during your stay. It seems the staff has thought of everything.
