Ingo (1/5): - Der Strand war sehr schön und auf das Meer am besten sucht man sich ein anderes Hotel das nicht am Berg anliegt. Die Fotos stimmen mit dem Hotel nicht überein es gibt kein romantisches Restaurant das ist ganz normal und es gibt nur Sex wegen die ständig besetzt sind in der Beschreibung steht dass sie einen Grill haben ich habe nie einen Grill gesehen und auch die Fotos sind so gemacht dass man denkt man hat eine Terrasse oder ein gescheites Fenster. Geeignet und auch für ältere Menschen nicht vom Hoteleingang ein gang bis runter zum Strand.

We had a room with kitchen inside which had everything you need. The room needs better room darkening blinds and is not very sound proof. The steps are steep from the road to the rooms and down to the beach. They could use more lounge chairs at the beach as there were only 8 so they filled up very early in the morning.

Diego (7/5): Cosy and cute - The location is great, the rooms are cute and picturesque. The staff were always friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and great aircon. The fact that is no very practical, there should be a warning about the accessibility to the rooms particularly for older people and judging from what I saw, the majority of their guests are elderly people who struggle to go up and down the stairs, so perhaps they should make clear that they don’t have elevators and there are lots of stairs.

Sheila (10/5): Amazing views and staff!! - The rooms were great, each offering their own mini split systems. We booked the hot tub room and loved the view, the kitchenette and the feel of the room. I do wish for better lighting in the room, I ended up applying my makeup outside (not a terrible view!) but it was HOT and I was sweaty. I would’ve loved to have been able to do that indoors 🙂
Liliana (4/5): No vale el precio - La cocina, tener utensilios para la cocina y refrigerador hicieron que la estancia fuera mejor. Además de que había limpieza cada día. Me gustó que enfrente hay abarrotes para comprar lo necesario. Las fotos que están en la página no corresponden a todos los cuartos. El jacuzzi es exclusivo de solo una habitación, cada habitación tiene su precio. Tenía hormigas todos los días, a pesar de la lumpieza. Solo hay escalones, la alberca abre tarde (9am) ya que a esa hora ya hacía bastante calor. No hay microondas en algunas habitaciones.
Tom (6/5): Make sure to call the hotel to choose the best room... - It was a mixed bag, to be quite honest. The hovel that the management stuck me in for the first four nights was awful. However, after I was upgraded to the room just above the pool, things changed decidedly for the better. The pool is lovely, although it closes a bit early at 7pm most nights... Additionally pleasant is the fact that the hotel is so close to Madera Beach, which is perfect for morning and evening swims. I absolutely thought that the housekeeping staff was malevolent, waking most guests up before 8am with nearly uproarious noise. They should be replaced by Roombas. One can immediately identify a true four-star hotel by how its maid-staff respects its clients' quietude and privacy and Arena is not a four-star hotel. That said, the front desk staff (particularly Gloria) was friendly and accommodating, and the Maderas restaurant waiters (especially Abel) were outstanding -- very amicable and endearing.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family, but the two things that truly set this place apart are its unbeatable location and the incredible hospitality of the staff. The hotel is just a few steps away from Playa La Madera and a 10 minute cab drive to Playa La Ropa. We loved being able to wake up and walk to the beach for a morning swim in less than a minute. It's also perfectly situated to enjoy the fantastic local restaurants along the beach and in the neighborhood. While it feels like a peaceful, secluded paradise, it's also just a quick and easy taxi ride or walk along the coast into the heart of El Centro for more shopping and dining. It’s the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience. Most importantly every single person that works there went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and special. Their warmth and genuine kindness are the heart of this hotel. From the front desk offering great local recommendations to the housekeeping staff who kept our suite immaculate, everyone greeted us with a smile. They make you feel genuinely cared for, not just like another guest. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean, and perfectly located hotel with a staff that makes you feel right at home, you can’t do better than Arena Suites. Restaurant was delicious and staff was great. Would love to go again. Too much walking for me personally to get to the other side of the beach, but well worth the trip. The walk is beautiful and stores to purchase along the side. I have gone to Ixtapa and I did more in Zihuantanejo in one day than 4 days in Ixtapa.

The location is absolutely per - I absolutely loved staying at the hotel with its stunning ocean view! It was just a few steps away from the sandy beach, making it so easy to enjoy those sun-soaked days by the water. Plus, the nearby pier was perfect for leisurely strolls, and there were plenty of delicious food options and restaurants right around the corner. It truly felt like a little slice of paradise! We used the kitchen, but there was no soap, and the shampoo dispenser would not work.

Diane (10/5): - Best place to stay. Steps from the beach. All staff great. Good restaurant on premise. Kitchens we use for buying fresh fish right at the pier. Good Mercado in town, or go to Soriana supermarket. Good beaches, local cabs are less than $5.

Profe218 (10/5): I loved it and will stay there again when I'm in Zihua. - I had room 2 and it was great! Given the price and the view of the sea from the kitchen and deck outside the room, I felt that it was a great value and wished I had stayed more nights. I will be back the next time I am in Zihua. I had to do some work while I was there and the wifi is fantastic. Added bonus: The deck outside the room is a great place to launch a drone to take nice pictures of the sea. Well, I was trying to think of something I didn't like about the hotel, and I guess the only thing is that you have to pass through the restaurant to get to the beach, and the waitstaff at the restaurant can be a little pushy trying to get you to sit down and eat. They really shouldn't bother hotel guests like that who are just passing through. ...but I'm not sure this is the hotel's fault. I understand that the restaurant is under new management so I'm not certain it is even connected to the hotel anymore. But if it is... the restaurant staff should be elegant and helpful rather than pushy.
Dhebi (10/5): Perfect vacation! - Absolutely excellent stay! We came with a group of friends and family and everything was so nice. The gentleman at the front desk, Ricardo, he was so very helpful and answered many questions for us. Very good service. The shower water didn't seem to get very hot, but, it maybe I didn't run it long enough. I wish the kitchen had a microwave. None of these things take away from the experience I had though, it was wonderful.

Philip (10/5): - Very nice property on Beautiful Madera Beach. Great location for walking the boardwalk into downtown Zihuatanejo and surrounded with numerous places to dine. Property was very clean and well maintained. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing to note for people with mobility issues is all the stairs from street level to beach level to all the suites.

Robin (4/5): Miserable for price. - Website photos were deceiving. Exterior door was sliding door made of glass. Only exit/ entrance hallway was right near windows and doors. You could hear any one talkng as they passed by. Pool very small.only access was steep, long stairs.

Restaurant was convenient, though lacked in service for our experience. There's lots of stairs, so the constant up n' down can take a toll. Overall, we do recommend this hotel and would return.

From our being received , to our bags being delivered to our room and the restaurant staff that first meal, we felt special. The location is perfect! The bathroom tile was tired and looked dirty although I’m sure it was only stained grout.

Ruth (10/5): Clean, comfortable room with a kitchen that was right on the beach and centrally located. - I really liked that the hotel was right on Playa Madera and within walking distance to so many good restaurants. It's also a major enough hotel in the area that tour companies picked us up from it, meaning we didn't have to walk elsewhere to meet up with the tours we purchased. The air conditioning kept the room quite comfortable. It took us a couple of days to discover where we could and couldn't go, but that was because our arrival flight was so delayed that we got to the hotel quite late.

Wallena (8/5): Very good - Location was fantastic!! The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. Madera's restaurant had great people, not too impressed with the breakfast but the snacks were good & dinner was really nice there. Staying at the resort gets you lounge chairs on the beach which were nice.
Joyce (6/5): - I like that it was on the beach with a fabulous restaurant which did a pop up dinner and music on the beach every night. The happy hour was limited but we could use the beach loungers because we were registered at the hotel. The hotel was old and a little grungy where several things were broken. I refused to stay in the room at the bottom of the stairs as it was opposite the restaurant bathrooms so tjere was odour and you couldn't open the curtains anywhere. There were only 2 rooms in the hotel that I would stay in again. They were near the top of the stairs.

Kaylin (9/5): Superb - I loved the peace the area provided. Zihuatanejo is extra quiet compared to Ixtapa. The outlets in the room need to be changed so they can hold the chargers; the TV needs to be replaced, we were not able to watch anything because either the controls didn't work or the TV wouldn't respond. Also, a better check out experience (faster) would be great. My sister had to run back to get the towels in our room so we could speed up the process.

Karen (8/5): Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at Arena Suites and would stay again - The location was great for our purpose of being close to town and being on the beach. The staff was super helpful. The huge semi-private patio was great. The bed could have been a little softer, but that is a personal preference thing😀. And the kitchen could have been equipped a little more, for instance a metal coffee filter for the pot would be nice so guests don’t have to hunt down paper ones. Although the little store across the street had them, so the hunt wasn’t too hard. The bathroom was right next to/below check-in front desk and you could hear things very clearly as well as the room next doors toilet business.

We loved the location and having the beach right there. We also enjoyed the restaurant Madaris many times, especially for breakfast. Being able to eat right on the beach is a real bonus.. Everything was great! No complaints.

Wally (10/5): Great Location - Great location on La Madera Beach and easy access to the centre. The pool was wonderful overlooking the beach. Many restaurants in the area. Units had a full kitchen. Internet was excellent. It was a wonderful place but does have many steps.
