Guest Reviews
- Lindsey (8/5): Wonderful stay - Lovely hotel in a great location. Nice garden Dinner was only served till 7.30pm
- Karl (10/5): -
- ANA CLARA (10/5): Conforto e excelente localização - Lugar maravilhoso!!!! Perfeição em todos os detalhes. Não é uma acomodação barata - é o único “defeito”
- Julie (10/5): Fabulous - How central it was for everything. All staff we came across were helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Beds were very comfortable and everything we needed was in the room. Everything
- Lorraine (9/5): Such a lovely stay, hospitality at its greatest. - Decor a mixture of old and new, so cosy, full of candles, fairy lights and cushions and a lovely smell when entering. Food was excellent! If I’m being really picky, the pillows were not comfortable, some of the walls need a touch up of paintwork and the bottom sheet did have what looked like an old stain on it but was still clean.
- Balagtas (9/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Perfect spot in Bourton - Perfect location for the town. Very comfortable. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Room very comfortable. The gardener started early than we would have liked. The patch of grass that was being cut was unfortunately outside our window.
- Christoph (9/5): -
- anthony (8/5): Overall very good - Great Breakfast
- ピンキー (7/5): -
- Fleur (8/5): Wonderful stay at the Dial House - Beautiful setting
- Kim (10/5): - Location was great right in the centre of Bourton on the water. Easy to walk to everything.
- Stuart (9/5): -
- Shashi (6/5): Have Stayed at hotels with better facilities and less cost - Location Lack of good service during dinner and breakfast
- James (5/5): - The staff were lovely No one cleaned our room during our visit and the bathroom was very shabby
- ruth (10/5): Absolutely stunning hotel perfect place to relax and chill. - The location was perfect and beautiful garden at rear inside the ambiance was very relaxing with candles lit throughout log fire spotlessly clean the staff were extremely polite. Only criticism was we had a lot of stairs to climb as bedroom was in loft space and struggled as recovering from knee surgery but I should have requested a room lower down.
- Isobel (7/5): -
- Chloe (10/5): -
- Astrid (9/5): -
- Tracy (10/5): - Its location was central . Breakfast superb
- Kerry (9/5): Good. - Location & decor No real bar area to sit & enjoy drinks & closed very early.
Rooms are tired, paintwork needs refreshing.
Can hear other guests using the bathroom.
- Martin (7/5): Fantastic weekend! - Staff very friendly and welcoming an amazing breakfast and location perfect beds very comfortable We stayed in the most expensive room however shower was not really useable so if you like a shower over a bath we advise you to not pick this room.
- Joanne (10/5): - Everything was really good here..
The place was right where I wanted to be.
The hotel was lovely & the staff were all so polite and friendly.. especially the young man who showed me my room.
Such a perfect place to stay..bed was really comfortable...bath & shower with towels and everything that you would need.
I would highly recommend this lovely hotel.. There wasn't anything that I didn't like..
- Yvonne (8/5): Lovely and central - Perfect location. Car park space so handy as right in middle of village - staff were so lovely - breakfast was a great choice and delicious- room comfy and lovely big bathroom with deep bath and separate shower (also had a birthday message and some chocolates) which was a lovely touch We were in the annexe and walls very thin. Could hear other guests and some children who obviously can’t help being noisy - not the hotel’s fault but it isn’t cheap so we were wondering if main hotel building is better. Also be aware that at 6.00am on a Monday morning all the bottles are collected or tipped into something as the noise woke us up - again I guess it has to be done at some point.
However, it was a lovely stay and would consider returning just for the staff!
- Anthony (8/5): The Dial House - Excellent location, staff and service. Parking at the rear of the hotel too. Although the place was lovely and we enjoyed our stay very much, it was expensive for just a room overnight.
- Julie (10/5): - The Dial House is located right in the centre of the gorgeous village and allows easy access to all amenities. All the staff were very welcoming and attentive to my needs. The building is stunning with lots of character and the interior has stunning features wherever you look. I have nothing bad to say about the Dial House, it was a lovely place to explore from.
- Josh (10/5): Friendly staff, great location, amazing stay - Excellent location, a very comfortable and clean room with a fantastic bed. Staff were amazing and very accommodating. It was an incredible stay and we will definitely be returning Hard to fault it. Nothing to say
- 159mickeys (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE RUDE ARROGANT OWNER - Nice room but unfortunately very noisy, Friday morning 7am their was building or maintenance works going on, which is not acceptable when travelling 200 miles for a relaxing weekend away, bonfire going on in the garden which then not allowed us to open the windows, prior to departure on Sunday we was not informed the residents only car park decided to host a car show with cars revving there engines between 09:30 to 10am before check out time, with a tight entrance and exit we was ordered by the abrupt rude and arrogant hotel manager/owner to reverse the entirety of the car park to allow a “super car” that was barely through the entrance to enter, this taking precedence over the residents of the hotel, we should of been made aware of this upon check in to prevent us driving through crowds of people, All in all not a relaxing weekend away. Manager/owner very rude and not interested in his paying customers, for £814.58 we will be seeking a partial refund for the unpleasant stay.
Manager/owner needs to learn some manners
DO NOT STAY HERE
- Swati (8/5): -
- Jeffrey (8/5): Nice hotel good location friendly staff. Fantastic food - Location Rather basic rooms
- Mickey Stewart (1/5): Would never stay here again, rude staff, to expensive. - The area Rude Staff, noisy room, builders working at 7am, car show on a sunday with no warning, cars revving.....
- Barry (9/5): - Location
- noelia (10/5): -
- Malcolm (9/5): Highly recommend this amazing place!! - Amazing atmosphere, very relaxed and staff were amazing!! Beautiful little oasis of calm in the middle of stunning Bourton on the water. Would highly recommend. Great breakfast too. Garden was lovely and a great sun trap!! Nothing to add here!!
- Carollondon1 (8/5): Great food, high prices. - Delicious food, well presented. Quite expensive compared to others in the area. Almost double the price of a lemon sole meal in a nearby restaurant. Friendly staff, efficient service.
- HAYLEY (8/5): Good - Breakfast with lovely and the location was great I was disappointed with the evening menu it was small and expensive plus 12.5 service charge
- Lorraine (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- vaguetravellers (10/5): An enjoyable experience in an historic building - We were glad that we were recommended this for our one night stay in Bourton-on-the-Water. We enjoyed staying in an historic building, friendly and helpful people, a couple of nice areas for drinks before and after dinner. It made it easy to park in their parking area and walk around the village.
The room was not large but it doesn't claim to be and it was certainly comfortable -- I think they (or their designer) have done a good job balancing the comfort factor within the building confines.
We had dinner there and enjoyed that too. A fun stay.
- Nigel (9/5): Contributed so much to a memorable stay and look forward to our return. - Perfect location, very friendly staff and amazing food, particularly breakfast and Sunday Roast. I was prepared to put up with the danger of low beams to stay in such a beautiful house.
- Louise (8/5): -
- Stefinex (9/5): -
- grant (9/5): A wonderful place to stay - A beautiful hotel in a very central location. Our room was very clean & comfortable The restaurant & bar were unfortunately not open the night we stayed
- Beatriz (10/5): -
- Jane (5/5): -
- Peter (8/5): - Nice food. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location. Limited beers available. All drinks expensive. Wall heaters turned off at night so room cold of a morning.
- Chris (10/5): -
- Linda (8/5): Great Location and looking to return very soon - Great location with free parking. Stayed in the family room and was as described. Very clean and spacious with an adjoining second bedroom. Access was up a narrow fairy steep flight of stairs which might be a small issue for a family with toddlers or young children.
Breakfast menu choice was superb and service was excellent.
- Piero (10/5): Gran estancia acogedora - Estaba en el centro del pueblo, era acogedor y el personal muy amable. .
- AlanL776 (8/5): Very nice boutique hotel in the centre of Bourton on the Water - We returned it this hotel after many years, and found it still a very good choice. It has a cosy ambience with a helpful and friendly team of people to look after guests. The hotel of very comfortably furnished, bedroom comfy ( we were in Owen). Nice gardens and car parking on site were great,
The breakfast and dinner were of a very high standard. We did think prices for dinner and drinks on the high side, London west end price level, and our only other comment was at dinner when they seem anxious to finish by 9.00 pm so this was not as relaxed as we had hoped. I think last orders were 7.30 which is quite early.
We will probably return!
- Zak (10/5): Lovely stay. Would definitely stay again. - Lovely stay, nice room and right in the centre of a lovely town with lots of nice walks and things to do.
- Sarah (10/5): - Beautiful cozy old building. Super comfortable better, lovely hot shower & a superb breakfast 😋
- Iola (10/5): -
- John (9/5): Very good indeed - Characterful.

- Sue (10/5): - Everything really. Location great, staff lovely, food tremendous. Bravo. Nothing
- Jayesh (7/5): Great location and staff excellent - Staff attentive, courteous and helpful
Location excellent
Interesting decor Room cramped

- anna09203 (10/5): One night plus dinner for a magical weekend in Bourton on the Water. - Great atmosphere, food and service. We stayed one night and had dinner at the restaurant which made the whole experience magical. Service was amazing, food incredible and the place is well curated, clean and nicely decorated. Highly recommend!
- Lobbestael (10/5): -
- BirminghamTweetie (10/5): A very special birthday treat! - We have just returned from a wonderful two night stay, in this hotel. The interiors and rooms are beautifully curated and the hotel is warm and welcoming, especially after a rather drizzly and muddy, yet invigorating, Cotswold walk!
The ambience was enhanced by a lovely roaring fire and the glow of candlelight.
Above all, the exemplary level of customer service made a lasting impression and is clearly the hotel's signature piece. Daniela, Annie and the team could not do enough for us, to make our stay special and they certainly succeeded, being just about as friendly and helpful as it is possible to be, anticipating our every need, and clearly, genuinely caring about how we were enjoying our stay.
The restaurant was a fitting place for a special birthday meal, with the best scallops I have ever tasted, a fantastic souffle and large portions of succulent beef. In keeping with every single staff member, Scott was an ever attentive host.
We would not hesitate to recommend this lovely hotel, which really has the feeling of a long, luxurious, warm hug and is perfectly located for everything the Cotswolds has to offer!
The extra day car parking, so that we could enjoy our last day, after checking out, without any worries, was very much appreciated.
We will definitely be back!
- Joanna (10/5): - We stayed for one night at The Dial house this week and would highly recommend it ! The team were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble ! We loved the quirky decor and the food was absolutely delicious 😋 we had dinner there which was lovely and the breakfast one of the best we have had ! - neil (6/5): - good location expensive
- Daniella (10/5): -
- maddad123 (10/5): Excellent choice - Popped in, wonderful dinner and great hotel. Staff super friendly. Off season, so not crowded, but we give it 5 stars. Lovely town
- Dean (10/5): - Great location, good food, exceptional staff. Parking on site. Lots of character. Awesome rooms.
- W6025ZMsuem (6/5): Would not revisit - Room was the smallest I have ever stayed in
Noisy in a corridor near still room
No space to even unpack anything
Bed very poor mattress
- Sue (5/5): -

- Beverley (10/5): -
- Vivek (10/5): -
- Hacer (10/5): We had a fantastic stay! - Fantastic location! Very comfortable room! Great breakfast and service. Thank you so much. Nothing
- Junior (10/5): Fantastic, would highly recommend - Location, design, staff all incredible. Lucky to check in early and room was beautiful.
Lovely spot for a day of walking and exploring. Staff also very supportive in returning an item we left on departure can’t fault them. Nothing.
- Marc (9/5): Great service, quality breakfast! - The colleague who checked us in was really helpful, even lent us a USB plug as we left ours at home Room was next to front door alongside the road, with people walking past the window, not ideal, however, the room was clean with a great shower and clean towels and great coffee/tea station!
- Graham (9/5): -
- Gloria (10/5): More than I would normally pay, but worth it. - Breakfast was amazing. So much choice and beautifully served. Best ever! Nothing.
- Joseph (9/5): Great short break, bang in the middle of a lovely little town with perfect road links - Carl, went over and above in our opinion, Breakast was plentiful and fresh. Drinks were good, exceptional cocktails too.
Car parking was always available which is an absolute plus. Room was very dark, with no real option to “illuminate” it any better. No shower, but that’s due to the room shape.
Also there were no slippers or bathrobes which from experience are normally included for use.
Just for peace of mind, nothing else!, a room safe would be nice, however I left my iPad, phone, glasses and car keys in the room when not in use and they were completely safe.
- Gary (9/5): -

- Jackie (10/5): An amazing hotel, superb location. Highly recommend - This was our second visit here. Such a lovely hotel. Staff really friendly. Fab room (we were upgraded which was so kind). Dinner amazing, breakfast amazing. It is located in the centre of Bourton on the Water which is so good so you can walk everywhere. Absolutely nothing!
