Guest Reviews
- Hollie (5/5): -
- Robert (8/5): Great Stay - The staff were very attentive.
Whilst we were there the furniture in the bar was replaced with brand new stuff Not a great deal of breakfast items put out and tidied away before breakfast time was due to end
- Carole (8/5): - Lovely staff , very clean and comfortable. Could do with freshen up outside but inside was great and that's what counted.
- Scarlett (6/5): Beachfront dated hotel with nice communal area - Lovely reception area, lounge, restaurant and staircase. I like the light, wide corridors with natural light and sea views. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Use of nearby leisure centre was included. The exterior is very tired and unattractive. The rooms are strange layouts. I booked a deluxe suite for a lone traveller - this turned out to be a very small double room with an interconnecting door to a room of three single beds .. not really suitable for my needs nor deluxe. I raised this with reception as it seemed very unusual but they said it was the correct room. The view from the room was very unattractive - urban/rooftops. The decor generally is very tired and dated. However it was nice and quiet so I slept well.
- Singh (8/5): - Not really sure trouble getting through door.\n Better wind door Ryan by the ways. Really? Good, really nice people. Thank you Who I was great. You get me blood safe. Thank you.
- Luanna (5/5): Needs a revamp. Needs some air conditioning, needs to stop the howling wind through the hotel. - Location to the beachfront, comfy beds. Too hot. We were put at the lifts so it was noisy. Another guest was able to use their card to enter our room then our card stopped working. The wind noise howls under the door, window open or not you need to put a towel under the door. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall.

- Steven (9/5): Lovely stay in Aberavon - Lovely location on waterfront. Spacious convenient location and on site parking
- Janusz (9/5): -
- Ceri (10/5): -
- Richard (4/5): - There is a great water view from the rooms, and the hotel has a big car park. Our room was very hot, and there was no way to cool it, as there is no air conditioning. The room was very small and tight. We dined in their restaurant, and the food was ok, but we waited so long for desert, we gave up on it. We were there at a quiet time, so may be ok at busier periods. The shower water pressure was way too low.
- Sue (10/5): Stayed 1 night only but couldn’t fault it, breakfast was delicious - Very clean and comfy
- Rafal (9/5): Responsive personnel - I was allocated a room by the lift and asked for another one - the receptionist had no issue with this whatsoever. All was ok, comfy beds. The hotel right by the beach and that is why we chose it. Wifi could be better.
- Karen (7/5): - Room size was ideal… we had a large dog with us. Comfortable bed restaurant menu had a few items not available . No potatoes … chips with everything.
- Sébastien (5/5): -
- Mark (1/5): What a waste of money! I don't know why its even listed on hotel sites.. - This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in!!
I stay in hotels for business every week, what a shocking example of a Best Western Hotel. I've stayed in your hotel before and they were of a good standard, but this one is a terrible example of your Hotels. Everything! The window was rattling all night from the wind and rain. The bed smelt mouldy, foisted and damp. I slept on one of the towels on top of the bed..
The room carpet was dirty and full of stains from food and spilt drinks.
The walls and skirting were dirty and not looked after.
- Kim (5/5): Suited a purpose - Location Very run down
- Hugo boss (10/5): Excellent - Everyone was brilliant food hotel it was a great experience
- Jean leopold (7/5): À recommander - Très confortable séjour , tout était impeccable J avais tout aimé
- Connie (10/5): Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Lovely decor in the bar area. - Excellent location close to beach and perfect to have a break on our journey to West Wales.
Dogs made welcome. Other guest not cleaning up after dogs.
- Alan (9/5): Very comfortable and clean would stay again. Staff was fantastic - Staff was very Friendly and professional make you feel very welcome.
Room was clean and comfortable. N/A

- Mostafa (7/5): - The cleaning was good and the size of the room was big enough The hotel was very old and I think they have to do some refurbishment
- Mike (4/5): - Friendly staff good breakfast comfortable beds pt friendly Room was incredibly hot and dry overnight impossible to sleep
- Dryzhakov (8/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): - The hotel was in a perfect place with lovely walks along the promenade, the staff were very helpful , friendly .
Great to have free parking
Thank you There wasn't anything we disliked
- Julia (10/5): Great staff. Lovely location. Super comfy room. - We loved all of it. Friendly and welcoming staff. A good room. A great location. I would recommend it. Nothing.
- Md Mainul (6/5): A big old and shabby compared to other similar hotels.. - Everything is a bit old and shabby.. Bit grumpy
- Melissa (8/5): -
- Mark (7/5): Enjoyed my stay. Glad not to be there for a couple of weeks, when weather very hot - Very nice looking hotel Room was very hot, could only open the window a little. No air conditioning. Beer expensive
- Singh (5/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): Excellent! Definitely stay again. - Stayed here for one night with my 18year old granddaughter and my poodle dog. We were made very welcome by the receptionist and my dog was given a bag of doggy treats. We were upgraded to a 3 bed room which had a large double bed and a single bed and the room was fresh and clean. I would definitely stay here again. The outside of the hotel could be off putting, however once inside it’s lovely.
- Guest (9/5): -
- Tom (10/5): Staff were absolutely spot on 😁 amazing very clean and tidy definitely be going again - Absolutely perfection , right by the sea front good parking perfect to be honest Me and the kids bit gutted that the property didn’t have the pool anymore …. But it was boiling hot day so we spent the day in the sea which is right in front of hotel so that made up for it
- Tony Hurley (9/5): -
- Aurélie (9/5): - Très bon emplacement face à la mer. Le personnel est très gentil. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux. Le parking est gratuit mais il faut penser s'enregistrer dès l'arrivée à l'accueil de l'hôtel.
- Giri (9/5): -
- Clement (9/5): Very enjoyable in a good location. - They have spent money on making the hotel more attractive.no Nothing.
- Lola (10/5): -
- Alison (6/5): Cheap seaside location - Cheap seaside location Looking very tired especially the lifts.
Very hard to park on the Saturday, we literally got the last space
- Badger (9/5): - Excellent location and friendly staff N/A
- James (5/5): -
- Wayne (7/5): - The Hotel is in a great location directly opposite the beach walking distance to shops and the front resturant. Sam the barman was great very friendly and always spoke and had time to talk.
The bed in our room was ok and comfy. The outside of the hotel could do with a refurb and a tidy up. There is no swimming pool in use at the hotel you have to go over the road to the lesuire center to use their pool.
- Brian (9/5): Very good - Very suitable room, Excellent breakfast
- Connector802319 (10/5): Fab Sunday lunch - Popped to the Aberavon Beach Hotel on the way home from a trip and what a treat. First class Sunday lunch and excellent Service. The manager Sheldon was very professional and obviously knows what he is doing. Great value in current times at £17.95 for 2 courses. Will definitely be going back even though we live in Swansea
- Andrew (7/5): -
- susan (10/5): - Location Was bit cold but staff brought a heater do it was then great .
- Carrie (7/5): - Nice family hotel close to beach n Park...easy access to hotel from beach etc. We love staying here No pool anymore and breakfast is too early and a bit pricey
- Katie (8/5): Comfortable with great location. - Location, view, clean and comfortable Very warm in room - we had to turn use the fans even in April despite having windows open.
- Chris (8/5): - Friendly,comfortable Rooms not serviced ,daily.
Only minimal toiletries / coffee on arrival, have to ask for more.
- Sanjay (10/5): Excellent place to stay - Very neat and tidy. Nothing
- Susie (10/5): Overall we loved it, our stay was due to house hunting so we will most definately be back - The internal refurbishment of the public areas is lovely and very well done - the chairs and sofas in the bar were really comfy, as was the bed. Once inside the building, it was a great experience.
Good size car park, easy to register the car as a guest. Loved the free drink for reusuing our towels The outside of the building is very scruffy, dated and looks almost derelict. The bedroom window was a bit iffy, and the wind blowing through the corridors and under our room door caused the bathroom door to fly open several times.
A larger selection of draft lagers would be welcomed, may include Cruzcapo or Kronenberg as currently very popular
- carole (10/5): - Perfect location, looked out the window and could see the sea, friendly staff and good breakfast Everything was OK

- MYINT (10/5): -
- Nigel (10/5): - We were celebrating our granddaughters 9th birthday and the receptionist went and got chocolate to give her . Asked for a pink gin and I was given bramble gin without being told and it was horrible went to change it and was given raspberry.
Went to run a bath and it took ages for the water to get hot
- Royston (8/5): Cold shower - Friendly staff. Bed needed a new mattress.
Of the 8 times the shower was used, it was cold 6 times.
- White (10/5): -
- Laura (7/5): -
- Geraldine (8/5): Overall friendly, clean and very comfortable - Clean, spacious and comfortable Public toilets, especially hand dryer in ladies
- Gurpreet (4/5): -
- Catrin (8/5): We had a lovely cozy night here. Excellent and will be back. - It was such a great room with a view of the sea,
The reason we booked in the first place was to have a night away by the sea
- Olga (8/5): -
- Emma (8/5): Great location for the beach - Fantastic location, very comfortable beds and good breakfast. Too hot in the rooms however fans were provided.
- Page (8/5): - Good food, excellent breakfast options Husband found thw bed a bit lumpy, pushibg him out.
- Tony (1/5): Terrible Hotel - Nothing, it is an awful hotel Cleanliness was very poor, in particular the communal toilets in the reception.
But there was a water problem with the heating, so guests had no hot water for the stay. This was poorly communicated and no reimbursement offered to guests who had to take cold showers in Winter. All in all a terrible stay
- Harriet (2/5): - I was disappointed with my stay. The room wasn’t clean, with mess on the curtains and a dirty bathroom sink.
There was also an issue with payment — it normally comes out automatically when we book, but it didn’t this time, and my phone had died so I couldn’t sort it straight away. I explained this, but it wasn’t handled well.
On top of that, the staff member called me “mate,” which felt unprofessional.
- Libuse (10/5): Fantastic option to stay in Swansea / Port Talbot with the best location, staff and food. - The clean modern interior, one would never expect from looking at the hotel from outside.
Rooms spacious, clean and a sea view to die for.
Staff very helpful, friendly and professional. Food also very tasty and a good selection at breakfast. Even gluten free options for celiacs. We were a family of four and unfortunately the sofa bed in our room had a very thin and uncomfortable springy mattress. It was also misaligned, causing me and my daughter to roll in the middle whilst feeling every spring pressing into our bodies. So the two of us did not get a good night sleep. However if they add a topper mattress or change sofa beds, this hotel would be always my choice to stay when in the area.
- Margaret (5/5): - Friendly staff. Nice restaurant and eating area. Good breakfast Looks run down on the outside. Rooms extremely hot. Not many facilities in the hotel
- Prince (10/5): I have stayed there many times and will do so in future - Location, comfort, quietness. The outside of the building could do with a clean up, it lets the inside down.
- terence (10/5): -
- Kinga (9/5): Great, would come back again - Great location, just a stone’s throw from the beach. The room and bathroom were clean and well-maintained, and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, a pleasant stay. The water pressure in the shower could have been a bit better, but it wasn’t a major issue.
- Dawn (10/5): -
- Marilyn (10/5): - Staff fitted us in to a special lunch although we were too late for it they were very kind
- Bernadette (10/5): -
- Kay (10/5): - Been staying here for many years. Always a good welcome. Ie friendly staff. Great, food warm room.fantastic clean beach.clean room. Would be great if we could have use of the hot tub. Only in the past pool sauna hot tub brilliant . I can understand running costs are high but can we just have the hot tub would be great. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back No use of hot tub

- callum (6/5): -
- Belinda (7/5): A lovely overnight stay with my elderly Mum - The room was very spacious, and hotel situated in a perfect position to spend time on beach front and promenade Room was slightly too warm, staff hard to locate on occassion
- Paul (9/5): - Location
Bar wasn't expensive
The Breakfast was partially waiter/self service Creaking floor in bedroom
- nicholas (10/5): - Very close to my family for a 60th birthday, very friendly staff and very helpful The breakfast was very cold and there was not enough when the self service buffet was empty , only one member of staff on duty and haid to wait for her to be seated, but see did her best and worked very hard
- Ms P Kelly (9/5): Brilliant, more than expected - It was clean, staff were welcoming and engaging. Really enjoyed our stay can't wait to go back. There was nothing to complain about at all.
- Claire (9/5): -
- Jason (7/5): Fine for a night or two - Location. Beachfront property. Tired older building. Needs a complete refurbishment ASAP !
- Keith (6/5): Served our purpose. A bed for the night. - It was by the sea, easy go find and to park I’ve visited this hotel a number of times over the years. It is now in desperate need of a makeover. This was a mid week visit and there were few staff on duty We were the only couple in the very large restaurant at 8.15 pm. It took a very long time for the two pizzas we ordered to arrive. They were home made apparently but overdosed with tomato puree. It would be better if the hotel served bar food mid week perhaps.
- jane (1/5): I should be given a refund. - There was no hot water. I was offered a breakfast that I did not want and was not served at a time that I could have it - in compensation for not being able to wash when I arrived nor in the morning. I could have been told about this when I booked or before I arrived and allowed to make alternative arrangements
- Linda (8/5): Brilliant except for bathroom non availability of toilet brus - Room, breakfast and clean No toilet brush in bathroom
- W625ZUjonw (10/5): Aberavon Beach - This hotel could not have been more ideally suited location wise for our requirements, both my work and catching up with friends. On the most beautiful beach to boot.
Friendly, attentive and helpful staff, clean, comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast.
Thoroughly recommend.
- Fiona (10/5): Another lovely stay. - Lovely sea view from room.
Polite staff always.
Comfortable room.
Don't judge the hotel by the way it looks on the outside because once inside its lovely. Always stay here almost every other month when visiting family and never had a bad stay. Water pressure in shower not 100%
- Catherine (10/5): -
- Felix (1/5): Being more wheelchair friendly - Nothing Was not wheelchair friendly inside my room, really sugar full refund back because I asked for a disabled room I did not get one
- leebrombo (10/5): What an awesome experience - What a wonderful time my family and I had at the hotel this weekend.
We booked in for afternoon tea and being a coeliac I was worried it was going to be terrible but it was so nice. The choice of sandwiches and cakes were brilliant and the service could not have been nicer. We stayed for the rugby match against Scotland and what a brilliant atmosphere, the bar person I think was called Sam and he was an absolute legend.
We stayed the night and the room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was clean and the beds were very comfortable, no complaints so far.
The breakfast was without doubt one of the best ive had in such a long time and I do stay in a lot of hotels. It was piping hot, full of choice and the sausages were gluten free, result. They even had a separate toaster for gluten free bread which you dont see very often.
As it was my mum in laws 75th birthday we were booked in for the Sunday dinner, there were 12 of us and not a single person had a complaint about the starter, main or dessert. `I do want to shout out to all the service staff, they were absolutely awesome and so hard working but always had a smile on their faces. The Manager was a lovely man, could not have made our stay any better.
We can wait to go back again. Thank you to all at the Aberavon Beach Hotel for making us so welcome and cared for.
- finolaw519 (2/5): Parking here will cost you £60 min. Beware!! - Parking at this hotel is a complete rip off. Do not park here! I parked for a business meeting. Added my car reg to the tablet in reception but failed to say how long I was staying and got stung with a £60 fine. Phoned the hotel and they said they could do nothing about it. Very, very poor customer service. Manager told me the receptionist had too much to do to be checking whether I'd added my car details on both screens. I thought that was the job of a hotel receptionist, to serve customers! Obviously not. Really appalling attitude.
