Guest Reviews
- Ken (10/5): - Great welcome on arrival and I have to say what a difference when every member of staff you come into contact are so warm and friendly. Well done to whoever manages the team
- Andrew (8/5): - Room was average, poor lighting, decor and bathroom was quite dated.
- Karen (10/5): - Stylish hotel, lovely food, excellent staff. Parking is on street, busy but normally a place to be had. Hotel room was quiet, nice bathroom, plenty of tea coffee and milk, no fridge. Bed hard, but that’s personal taste. Would highly recommend this hotel.
- Kyle (10/5): - Fanatic staff, fantastic room, fantastic location. Will book again next time we’re in town! With family.
- Kevin (10/5): - Excellent hotel room great overall everything was perfect
- Susan (8/5): - Good location and comfortable
- John (10/5): - Enjoyed our 2 night stay great breakfast and good location as it was just opposite the park. Shops and restaurants all local. Car Park was a small and under the hotel.
- Ian (10/5): - First class service and food is amazing
Many thanks
- Shirley (10/5): - A lovely traditional building, beautifully decorated and good sized rooms. It's cuisine, not average grub. Challenges me to try something different. Friendly, helpful staff. An affordable treat. Fabulous location close to the Abbey with disc parking across the road and a large free car park 5 minutes walk away by the Wentworth Centre. Second visit. If they start to accept well behaved dogs I'll be back again.
- Martin (10/5): - Best hotel in Hexham. Hexham is a great base to explore Hadrians wall and the surroundings and the Beaumont is definitely the best place to stay, spacious rooms, excellent food in the restaurant, great bar, very popular locally so good buzz in the evenings and very attentive staff.
- David (10/5): We’ll visit again - wonderful hotel. - Fabulous boutique-feel hotel in the middle of Hexham opposite the park. Delightful staff and great bar that opens up on to the pavements. Good restaurant.
- ann (10/5): Ideal Hexham location - Perfect location for the town centre and Abbey.
Busy outside bar and indoor restaurant, obviously a favourite place with locals
Good selection at breakfast, hot breakfast cooked on demand, which was excellent on Saturday and Sunday, less impressive on Monday.
The bedroom was unbearably hot, the fan was unable to cope, but the hotel could not have mitigated this any more, as the room was in full sun all afternoon.
- Rachael (10/5): - Gorgeous hotel! We can’t wait to return
- Cristine (10/5): - Attentive and friendly staff. Had wonderful breakfast and dinner at the hotel - great gathering/dining area in the lobby. Perfect stay to explore Hadrian's Wall.
- karen (10/5): - Great stay at the hotel. Staff very friendly. Comfortable bed. Bedroom was very quiet considering how busy the hotel was. Would stay here again.
- gregory (10/5): You can’t go wrong here - Right in the town with friendly staff. Reasonably priced for the value of the stay
Excellent bar and food
Room spacious and comfortable
- Philip (10/5): Luxurious hotel without pretension - Classy and elegant hotel, perfectly located with lots of period charm and excellent service. Everything was to a very high standard and we would have no hesitation in staying again. The only minor consideration is the limited parking but Beaumont advised of this ahead of time and provided a parking disc for our stay and as we were out and about during our the day it didn't cause any issues.

- Stella (10/5): - Staff were very helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very stylish and spacious room, a fabulous ensuite and everything was very clean
- Michael (8/5): - Well located in the centre of Hexham, this is a nice hotel close to a lot of Hadrian’s wall visitor sites.
We stayed in a superior room, which nice enough. It was a bit noisy, mainly because the room was next to the lift and sound transmitted very easily through the gaps around the door. With a little bit of sound proofing, the room would have been excellent.
- Terri Anne (10/5): - Wonderful hotel with lovely rooms, great food and atmosphere
- David (10/5): Highly recommend - The hotel were very helpful when requesting a slightly earlier check in due to attending a family wedding and needing to get a 3 year old ready to be a flower girl before hand.
The staff were excellent and very friendly.
The room was very spacious and the large bath was amazing!
Breakfast was very expensive, especially for pastry's, orange juice etc but hit the spot.
- Lora (10/5): - Online check-in was a great option and the staff welcomed us very efficiently.
- nigel (10/5): - Really nice refurbished hotel - fantastic room, great meals - parking wasn’t too bad given our arrival time clashed with Mothering Sunday lunches
- Bridget (6/5): - Hotel was really lovely and clean
- Brian (8/5): - Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff friendly and obliging. Food, both breakfast and dinner excellent.
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - Fantastic Hotel, great room and lovely bar and restaurant- food was excellent!
- Susan (10/5): - Excellent hotel. Warm, comfy and quiet room with a designer feel. Modern en suite and large walk in shower. Central location. Parking a little tight with not many spaces but free street parking available.
- Colin (10/5): - The whole experience was first class. The bedroom was spacious and well decorated and fitted out. The food was great. The staff and the service was excellent.
- Stefan (10/5): - Excellent place to stay and amazing food.
- Craig (10/5): Fantastic 3 days spent at the Beaumont - Fantastic 3 days spent at the Beaumont.
It’s our 4th visit and as ever it’s a great way to re- energise in a relaxing environment with such friendly staff.
The Northumberland gastronomy that the menu provides is very clever and an explosion of local flavours is backed up with an array of well selected wines - Albariño albeit Spanish or Portuguese is recommended.
Take the time to enjoy this beautiful boutique hotel but don’t ignore the history of the town of Hexham and neighbouring enclaves.
A visit to the Abbey crypt is well worth the large stepped decent and a trawl through the local antiques often uncovers a gem or two.
There’s no shortage of artisan trades in this thriving town and the Indepent retail owners are testimony to the thriving town.
Fantastic 3 days spent at the Beaumont.

- Ian (8/5): Nice visit - Nice clean room, good shower and wifi and helpful staff. Realised when i got home that they had given me someone elses invoice for my pre paid room, but i had other confirmation on hotels.com so no real biggie. Was lucky with parking right outside the hotel, or it may have been a pain.
- Andrew (10/5): - Excellent spot over looking the park. Excellent service with top quality food.
- Graham (10/5): Walker stay - Everything was excellent.
- Simon (10/5): Great hotel, location and service - The Beaumont is a really comfortable hotel right in the heart of Hexham. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed. The hotel was very busy during our stay but all the staff were efficient and friendly. I’d have no hesitation in recommending the Beaumont as a great place to stay in Northumberland.
- Piers (10/5): - A beacon of style, comfort and luxury in this handsome northeastern market town - recommended at every level: food, drinks, rooms, service all above and beyond and very reasonably priced.
- Colin (10/5): - Very clean, friendly staff great food, overall just
what you want.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I’ve eaten at The Beaumont before but this was our first overnight stay. On top of a perfect central location, the hotel offers comfortable rooms, excellent bathrooms, good food and above all exceptional customer service both before and after our stay. The soundproofing isn’t great but that’s probably a reflection of the age of the building. We’d be happy to return when next in the area.
- Nicola (10/5): - One night, great service, food for breakfast and dinner, lovely sized family room. Close to Hadrian’s wall.
- Tim (10/5): - Very friendly staff and very helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable and spacious
- Ian (10/5): great place to stay to visit Northumberland - Hotel was great. Ideal central location with good restaurants nearby (hotel restaurant is also excellent). Great breakfast with really attentive and friendly staff
- D A (8/5): - Single beds a bit narrow otherwise all very good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed in the same room as last trip, very comfortable and clean.
Food not quite as good as last year, but will no stop me returning.
- Hubert (6/5): - Parking a real problem
- Julie (6/5): - Mixed reviews .
The Pros : The Hotel is central , clean and bedroom lovely . Breakfast had a good selection and waiting staff attentive .
The Cons : On entry no warm welcome, just here’s your keys .rooms that way . I felt dismissed .
The main problem for me was the noise . Road noise expected was ok . But the room above (for 2 nights ) can hear loud footsteps, squeaky boards and thumps this was continuous at approx midnight until 1am !! . Then woken on one morning by a loud TV from room next door at 7.30 am .
The bed room doors also slam shut . Unfortunately for me not a restful stay and left feeling more tired than when I arrived .
- Scott (10/5): Always a pleasure to stay - We’ve stayed at the Beaumont a number of times in various rooms every room has always been clean and comfortable and we will be returning to stay again
- Elizabeth (2/5): - Fabulous hotel, superb restaurant and lovely bar area. Friendly and helpful staff. Our second visit and would definitely recommend it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We thought the hotel was beautiful and had clearly been recently decorated. Our room was lovely (30) but the mattress on the bed needs replacing as it was rather saggy in parts. We enjoyed our meal in the evening. The staff were a credit to the hotel.
- Karen (10/5): - We had a great time
- Yvonne (10/5): - The staff gave us all help and consideration last week. Especially Maria and Magda who sorted out my husband's difficulty with the new mattress (too hard for his back problems).
Everyone was always polite and gave us the feeling that nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant service was also impeccable and the food excellent.
Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short due to finding some particularly deep potholes in Beamish which exacerbated my husband's problem.
I cannot recommend the Beaumont highly enough.
- Doreen (10/5): - Lovely hotel nice friendly staff really good as i am temporally unable to walk properly they let me reserve a parking spot and gave me a lovely spacious room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service and food, loved visiting the Abbey, parks, quaint shops and tea shops. 30 minutes to Newcastle by train. Will visit again.
- Richard (10/5): - Lovely hotel.
- David (10/5): Great Stay - We arrived early but the room was available and we checked in early, the staff checked if a space was available for our car which there was, the Car Park is compact 7 vehicles only but alternatives are available. The room was excellent spacious with a comfy bed and quality bedding, Great bathroom with everything we needed. "Great stay" would defo come back.
- Katherine (10/5): Highly Recommended!! - Perfection from start to finish! The hospitality, decor and food were on point and very inviting. Location is walkable to all with a charming village and a park across the steer. I hope to return in the future!
- David (8/5): - Located in centre of Hexham in walking distance of all local attraction and shops. Parking spaces restricted but we were lucky . Parking on street for two hours only from 9am to 5pm
- Stuart (10/5): Weekend trip - Lovely hotel. Very nice setting.
- matthew (10/5): - Beautiful hotel and view. Hot in the summer.
- martin (10/5): Just across from the Abbey. - Lovely hotel in the heart of Hexham just across from the Abbey.
Great rooms, restaurant and the bar has street side seating for when the sun shines.
- Colin (10/5): - Great hotel
- Mark (10/5): Nothing to fault only praise - Fantastic Hotel ,will return for a few days hol, next time all staff were excellent ,breakfast was delicious ,location perfect as a base for the area
- Stephanie (10/5): Wonderful! - This was the most wonderful hotel we stayed in on our whole trip! The room was spacious and comfortable, the shower was a dream, the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful and kind. We had a lovely patio outside our room which gave us a rooftop view of the city. It was all so lovely! We highly recommend staying here and will stay here again if ever anywhere near Hexham!
- Peter (10/5): - Good location in a lovely town
- Angela (10/5): July 2024 - Fabulous hotel and amazing staff. Made to feel very welcome. Only stayed one night as in town for a wedding but will definitely return to explore area further.
- Joanne (10/5): - We need more hotels like this.
A well known and lovely old property in the centre of town that has been modernised to a very high standard.
Our room (32) was on the top floor so quieter than a lower floor and had a lovely view over the Sele park. The bed was super comfy and the room was clean, spacious with tasteful and quirky decor.
We ate dinner on a wonderful summer’s evening with the french windows opened into the restaurant giving a very continental feel and the meal was excellent.
Great value for our room but we thought that breakfast was overpriced at £17.50 each.
It is worth strolling around the town to see some beautiful and historic architecture and it is also a great base for exploring the villages and countryside of Northumberland, Cumberland and the Durham Dales plus Hadrian's Wall of course.
Hexham has had a revival in recent years And now has plenty of things happening and local shops, cafes and restaurants all within easy walking distance of the Beaumont Hotel.
What made the hotel extra special though was the service and staff -we received a great Northumbrian welcome that was friendly and efficient without being pretentious.
- D (8/5): Good cenral Hotel in Hexham - Good, large room, but view over fire escape etc. Evening food was good. Didn't try breakafast but buffet looked OK. Parking is free on road but can be problematic to find space. Small car park with chargers at back. Conevnient for Abbey.
- Verified traveler (8/5): One-night stay to explore the local area - A good place to explore the local area from. We just stayed one night. The room was well decorated and comfortable, but there were a few small issues with the bathroom. In particular the bin mechanism was broken so the bin just tipped over instead of opening the lid, and a couple of the soap dispenser pumps were stuck. That said, the toiletries were really nice.
- Shirley (10/5): - We had a lovely stay here. The room was spacious and really comfortable, nice decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a good location near the Abbey and town centre. Would recommend it.
- martin (10/5): Right in the centre of Town. - Beautiful hotel right in the centre of Town.
Stayed previously and will be visiting again soon.
- Warren (10/5): Fab contemporary room - Fabulous room with a big freestanding bath tub and nice separate shower.

- Rob (10/5): - The hotel and staff are superb, this is the 5th time we’ve stayed and excellent every time.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Beautiful spacious room touch of luxury with decor soaps and shampoo, Bed very comfortable. We were served drink from a lovely young lad who was very attentive.
Evening meal was delicious but maybe slightly overpriced. Didn’t have breakfast.
Enjoyed our stay.
- Edna (10/5): - Very beautifully decorated rooms. Front desk clerk went out of her way to find an extension cord for me. It was very much appreciated.
- Simon (10/5): - Lovely place with excellent staff. Big rooms and nice bar/restaurant area
- Anne (10/5): Gorgeous gem of a hotel - Fabulous little hotel in the centre of the town. Staying 2 nights for work and it’s so tastefully decorated, very quiet and clean. Staying in a superior room which I booked for only one night then had to book a second night and accidentally booked a standard room but they are leaving me in the superior for both nights for the same price.
- Brian (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Return stay ( same room as it happens) and everything good except wifi which is not effective in room 28
- Patrick (10/5): Great place to stay - Room was good but curtain let it too much light. We were touring and the breakfast here was the best of all.
- Pieter (10/5): - Small little gem with easy access to park and shambles. Great food and welcoming staff and nicely updated rooms
- Adam (10/5): Beaumont hotel - I work away most weeks. Stay in different hotels most nights. Found this hotel to be very nice and enjoyed thr experiemce. Food was great and service excellent. Good price too.
- Hubertus (10/5): Superb central Hexham accommodation - The room was absolutely spotless. The skylight let in natural light and the room faced the back so there was little traffic noise. It was not obvious how to get the heating to work in the bathroom and I needed to ask.The kitchen at the Beaumont is superb. The chefs use fresh ingredients with delicious interesting combinations and the service is friendly.
- David (10/5): Excellent hotel - Excellent hotel with very welcoming management snd staff. Restaurant is top quality and breakfasts exceptional
- Jennifer (10/5): Superb again! - Excellent stay once again. This hotel is consistently good!
- jo (10/5): Hexham hotel - Immaculately clean rooms with good facilities. Near to the centre of Hexham, Would definitely recommend
- Colin (10/5): Fantastic Boutique Hotel - Amazing Hotel with fantastic, friendly staff. A refreshingly different boutique hotel experience in a lovely town. There is a Saturday farmers market, lots of local restaurants and places to see. Highly recommended!
- Gordon (10/5): Can't fault the place - Excellent. Superb food. Great choice.
Rooks are spotlessly clean, well designed and comforable.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Restaurant and choice of food excellent.
- Clare (10/5): - Pillows not comfortable, would have liked to hhave known about back entrance to carport.
