Guest Reviews
- Medha (10/5): - Excellent place , right at the market , every attraction nearby , super good food , polite staff . Will visit again for sure :)
- sara (10/5): - Posto da sogno: bellissimo!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was very convenient for sight seeing. And they kindly allowed me to leave my suitcase at hotel during my camel safari.
On the other hand, I had two problems here.
1. One of the circulators in my room was very noisy and I couldn't keep my room at the comfortable temperature for sleep.
2. It was difficult to communicate with a staff in English.
- 564barrye (8/5): Helpful staff, good food but fading away - The staff here are really excellent, and the food is great. They work really hard to meet your needs, we ate two dinners and a lunch, plus two breakfasts and enjoyed the service and meals which we thought were very reasonably priced. The terrace is a good place to sit and observe the fort. It's hard to escape the fact that this is not a four star hotel. It seems to be 'fading in glory' with furnishings just a little shabby, and various things just not working ( our shower did not work at all ). As a previous review noted it's very near a mosque and the calls to prayer are your early morning call.
- Chris (6/5): - Nice looking property with a lovely terrace. Very central and easy to get around. Cleanliness of the rooms was disappointing.
- Grace (10/5): - This property is right in the market area and yet quiet and calm. A variety of birds fly around the roof during breakfast with fort as a backdrop and violet temple in the foreground— kinda dreamy. We were in the temple room with old paintings on one wall. I think the dust rolling in from the street is a constant. Very convenient for shopping and getting tuktuk.
- K6010VOalessandra (10/5): Amazing hotel - We spent 3 nights in this beautiful hotel. The terrace is amazing, facing on the fort. Perfect location in the city center (2 min walk to the clock tower, market and shops). The room was tidy and clean. All the staff is amazing! We would like to especially thank Karan for his help and his kindness. Thank you all! Best of luck from Italian mother and daughter! Aless and Lilia
- Escape24670886043 (2/5): Beware of staff scam - the ancient temple (300 years old) was very interesting. the food was decent; we ate breakfast two days. the call to prayer at the crack of dawn is EXTREMELY LOUD right outside the hotel so beware of that.
However, a STRONG caution: one of the front desk staff tried to take us out of the hotel to scam us. we wanted to go to the stepwell nearby and this boy insisted on taking us there. I didn’t know why at the time, I thought maybe he wanted to go too. We found out that he was trying to take us to a textiles shop for a commission. This is a common scam in India — drivers or guides will take you to “their friend’s” shop “just to look, no pressure to buy” but you should know that this is ILLEGAL in India, as they make a commission on anything you buy. When we tried to go into a different shop on the way (for our own interest) he tried to prevent us from entering the shop (because he would not receive a commission from this shop) and he further bullied the shop owner to “make it short, woman” so that we would not linger there long. The tourism police showed up and that’s when we realized what was going on. He paid off the policeman while we were in the shop and then waited for us to come out, and again tried to lead us into his friend’s shop. We shook him off and continued onto the stepwell on our own.
Yes this is a beautiful hotel on account of the temple it is connected to, but the hotel staff are actively trying to take guests to scam them. So, I would not recommend this hotel overall based on that experience.
- amits14 (2/5): Not Recommended at all. - I am highly disappointed with the quality of the food. The space and sitting area was ok but the untrained staff and food quality was poor & unacceptable. When we asked the staff to serve the propers tandoori breads they served half-backed parathas and even after that they mentioned to us that this is the way they served the pieces of bread. They didn't accept the mistake that they were serving half-back food.
Guys go there at your own risk if you want to spoil your day.
- ganpuler (10/5): Good stay - Nice service with good price. We just take a walk from the clock tower there we find this place with cozy prices. We took deluxe room was good. They have temple in house which was my favourite and good things. Food was also good. Mr Karan panwar man with good knowledge everything about Jodhpur also nice.
- Marco11lein (10/5): Great restaurant - Though it is a little hard to find on the crowded & busy street once you enter it has a quiet rooftop. Food was the best we had in Jodhpur with many local dishes (Rajasthani) we can highly recommend the rajasthani Thali to experience the taste of the region.
- Prmello (6/5): Not that worth of a rooftop - The Nirvana home has a rooftop restaurant. It's located in the middle of old town Jodhpur. A short distance from the market and other main attractions such as Toorji ka stepwell. Due to its mentions on lonely planet we had bigger expectations. The prices for drinks were a bit expensive considering other similar rooftops and its panoramic view to the city and fort is reduced and only side viewed, due to some trees blocking part of he view.
- Adesh321321 (10/5): Best place . Must visit - Excellent place . Very hygienic and clean . Super food and super rooms . Very good staff specially montu and bhom singh.fort view and heritage property awesome service and 300 year old building . Located at the center of the old city
- VibhutiS21 (10/5): Amazing Stay - Thank you for making our trip perfect. We had an amazing experience during our stay at Nirvana Home. Room have all the facilities and we get wonderful view of Mehrangarh Fort from our room. Cleanliness and sanitization is maintained by the staff. Staff is friendly and helpful in all the way possible. Food was amazing and with good portion size, they prepare food as per our specifications. Special thanks to Bhom Singh ji and Ajay ji for making our stay relaxing and perfect. They made special arrangements for celebrations also.
I recommend this place to have amazing in city experience with fort view experience while having food or from rooms as well. All the places for visit and food like Sardar Market, Shahi Samosa, Mehrangarh Fort and more are within 1 km distance. Stay here to experience a wonderful stay in centre of Blue City- Jodhpur.
- Fearless63015614473 (10/5): Best place - Perfect place to stay and eat
I liked it and my whole family
too
I would loe to visit again and i enjoyed very much
Thank you nirvana
This place has a very good staff and very good hygiene and cleanliness
- 270navind (10/5): Nirvana home - Great hotel very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are very neat and clean there is a nice terrace restaurant with wonderful view of the Fort the food is very good and made fresh as per order only issue is the prayers from the mosque can be heard and its very loud but we did not mind also no car can enter the road but they staff does help with the baggage from the main road the hotel is walking distance to the famous clock tower and many shopping and street food is available waking distance.. The hotel is a must vist stay or just to visit the restaurant
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very Good - This hotel is in the heart of the old town. The markets of Jodhpur are full of saris for sale, spices and fresh fruit & veg. We really enjoyed our stay here.
- GeorgeKilmurry (10/5): Beautiful Hotel with Caring Staff - If you want to be central and live in an ornate hotel with a 300 year old temple and beautiful courtyard, I think you will enjoy it here. The roof top restaurant has a great view of the fort. The staff including at the top Arnava, the team with Montu, the TIKTOK stars, and restaurant team were great. Nothing was to much for Montu, in whose own words he is an ‘allrounder’.
The fort is a short walk, as well as the Clock Tower and all the busy bazaars. I think if you want to feel your are in Jodhpur and not isolated in a big brand hotel, this will give you the experience. A note though, not all the rooms are not heritage or decorative, it you require this best request in advance. In the winter the rooms downstairs are warmer.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very disappointing stay at Nirvana, so much so that we checked out to stay somewhere else. When we arrived the room looked NOTHING like the photos online. It was dirty, dark and smelt of stale tobacco smoke. The place was not well kept, the walls needed painting, it smelt, the furnishings were old and chipped etc etc. When we checked out the staff didn't even acknowledge us.
- AndrewRUSA (10/5): A Delightful Surprise - Pros: Staying in a still active Hindu Temple, centrally located in the historic core of Jodhpur, right nearby the Sardar Market and Ghanta Ghar clock tower, was an amazing experience, and beyond what I’d thought it would be. The rooftop has stunning views of the Mehrangarh Fort, with a superb all Vegetarian (because of the temple) restaurant. Most sight seeing sites in Jodhpur are within a 15 minutes walk.
In addition, the staff is more than amiable and made the stay especially memorable (I wrote down names for this review, but lost the paper, I apologize). We especially liked making Tik Tok videos with one of the staff members.
Cons: As with many historic hotels in India hot water is a bit of a hit or miss. The WiFi was also spotty at best, and a bit slow in general when fully available. I also have to warn that this is in the Muslim section of Jodhpur and the call to prayer happens, very loudly, before dawn. Personally this was not too disruptive to me, but may bother some guests more.
Overall: A wonderful experience and a delightful surprise. I’d also like to recommend staying in one of the historic rooms in the temple itself, over the new additions to the hotel. We stayed in a new room for our first night and asked for a transfer to a historic room on the second night. They put us in the central “Raj’s” room, with high ceiling and amazing historic accents. We had a great time overall.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staying in an old palace in the middle of market was an Authentic experience. Location was great. Walking distance to fort, blue city and clock tower. Staff were very nice and accommodative. The only issues were that we didn’t always get hot water for shower and wifi. Their laundry service was weak as well. Overall a nice experience
- Ankita_Sanyal_1990 (4/5): Nirvana home - In case you're staying here, please choose the double deluxe or suite rooms. Please don't go for standard double (normal) rooms.
The normal rooms are small and shabby. They dont even bother providing glasses, water jugs, tea coffee makers and cupboards in the standard double room.
The rooms are dusty and not clean.
We also did not have our room cleaned during our stay, hence assuming that you would need to tell them for some one to come up and clean.
The washrooms are totally broken and Plumbing is haywire.
Location wise this is excellent and is located in the middle of the main market area and is safe. Easy communication modes are available.
Food is good and the rooftop eating area provides a good (backside) view of the fort. The staffs are polite.
Also, we booked from booking.com and made the payments online by transferring the room rent to the hotels bank account. However, during checkout, we were repeatedly asked about the payment, did we make it not? To which account number did we transfer the funds? What is the reference ID and what not. Adding to our dismay, they also did not provide us with the final bill during checkout.
- benjamin_phaneuf (6/5): Ok - We went there only for the restaurant.
Food was really good (we shared the special thali) and the place is beautiful (old palace with an awesome inner court and amazing wall paintings).
The service was not the best though. The waiter was intrusive, spending the whole meal practising his english with us while we were trying to have a moment together. At the end of the meal, he wanted to force us to write a review right now before his eyes amd then boasted on how much the previous customer gave him a big tip.
- TriPro_1 (10/5): Beautifull place. - We had a very good experience in this place, the food is very good, i had the best falafel in india, this guy named Montu seju is soo nice and he speak very well english.
You definetly should try this beautifull place
- Shadestarslayer (8/5): Hospitable - Great staff and owner. Very helpful and accommodating. Only the bathrooms need upgrading as the plumbing makes the whole place wet. The breakfasts was good. WiFi worked well in the foyer areas, but no signal in the rooms. We had three bedrooms on the ground floor.
- joeya994 (10/5): Beautiful nirvana - Montu seju & bhom banna, aam shing reception manager were brilliant! Beautiful place and lovely breakfast! The chef was great too!!!! Nice garden and beautiful views.. all very helpful members of staff ready to show you the way around Jodhpur
- Fieldsofwheat (10/5): Delicious food and great service ! - Bhom Singh, the restaurant manager Rajput Nirvana Home Jodhpur, was very friendly and looked after us very well! He entertained us with some interesting facts about the city too. The food was amazing and we had a great view of the Diwali fireworks over the fort.
- Keith54_12 (10/5): Busy area but lovely place - Great little find, hotel in a part temple. Good food, very freindly helpful staff and management.
A little jem in a busy area,
A big thank you to Ajay Singh, Bhom Singh and montu, for making our stay happy and memorable.
- Pat (8/5): - Inside the hotel it is peaceful and quiet although there is a prayer service in Temple in hotel at 5am which wakes you up. But you do fall asleep again. It is a former Temple and is quite impressive so expect some disturbance is fine.
WiFi and air con are excellent. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Executive room was spacious and clean. Location is very good and can walk to many sites. A good meal for a non vegetarian is not to be found anywhere nearby. Restaurant in hotel but never saw anyone in it. Saw no other guests in hotel either for that matter. But I was happy with my stay compared to other hotel options in jodhpur.
Although I had executive room I had no window and the door opened onto the front office desk area and there was quite often people outside the room talking. No English channels on TV, no bottled water, no safe, no housekeeping for my 4 days but was given soap etc when I asked at reception. No washing machine on site and laundry service not cheap. I was allowed to checkout late at no charge to catch an afternoon train. Very grateful for that. I feel I paid way too much for the executive room all things considered. The hotel has plenty of potential but a few minor things need to improve to justify price.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The property is very far from the tourist attractions and is in a mid of chaotic bazaar.
The cost of accommodation is expensive as compared to the hotel's ambience and accessories in the room.
Its was an extremely bad deal.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A beautiful piece of heritage property the owners are rightfully proud of. Remarkably quiet once you step inside the compound and escape the frenetic market activity on the street outside.
I loved my room which was probably roomier than others in the hotel—go for the executive option if possible.
The hotel is staffed by a group of cheerful young men who are still learning their stripes as hoteliers. Charm and enthusiasm though more than make up for the level of efficiency.
The front desk may not be as reliable as some in the city in helping you set up tourism and travel options.
Still, with historic charm and comfort, plus value for money, Nirvana home is a superb place to stay
- Jane (6/5): Basic hotel, nice restaurant staff, poor bathroom - Basic hotel was good. Restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive. However we were very disappointed with the basic cleanliness in both our bathrooms. It only needed a good scrub and some perfumed cleaning fluid.
- Ian (8/5): Good staff - QStack went out of their way to make us happy, that's all you can ask really
- Peter (10/5): - A piece of heaven in a frenetic area of Jodhpur. Great location to Clock Tower markets. Roof top restaurant with delicious freshly prepared food and great views of the Fort at night.
Beautiful internal pot plant gardens to add to peacefulness.
Staff all very obliging and friendly.
