Karthik (8/5): The Country House Chalets is a comfortable, well-run property with great hospitality and food. - Dining was a definite highlight. Breakfast comes with two choices—English breakfast or Sri Lankan breakfast, with the local option allowing you to choose between string hoppers or milk rice. We tried both styles, and they were equally enjoyable. For lunch and dinner, meals can be ordered from their on-site restaurant, The Local, where we sampled the chicken kottu, creamy chicken pasta, vegetable noodles, and pumpkin soup—all of which were excellent and freshly prepared. Nothing much to dislike
Sithum (8/5): It was okay but I would have rather spend my money elsewhere but okay - It was comfortable and almost everything necessary provided Location was too far off. There were spider webs in the room. Not clean. I had to ask for towels.

Achila (5/5): Good location. Need to lookafter the property well - location was good and easy access to Galle. however the drive is about 20 minutes It wasn’t maintained properly. Bed linen and towels looked dirty. Full of ants. Water bottles were not provided. Had one refill bottle for the two nights we stayed. Bathroom looked disgusting.

Martin (9/5): Sehr schönes Ambiente, man fühlt sich fast wie im Dschungel - Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, das Personal sehr nett und wir haben drei verschiedene Frühstücksgerichte zur Auswahl angeboten bekommen. Man merkt gerade im Bad, dass die Unterkunft schon ein bisschen älter ist.

The food - with whatever limited option they have - was very delicious This property needs a major upgrade ! starting from the Furniture / towels/ Bed , to say that they did not provide any basic requirements that is required for a hotel. Looks like nothing was changed for years !! Wifi / TV - did not work all night. There are regular house with people staying around this property is a major let off !!! The guest staying at the other villa were playing loud music till 03 in the night and no one from the property stopped them! if you can avoid all of these - then its value for money !

We stayed in the Cinnamon chalet, which is located right in front of the swimming pool—and wow, what a view! The chalet was beautifully designed, combining rustic charm with modern comfort. It was spacious, clean, and incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect escape from the busy world. Waking up to the view of the pool and the surrounding greenery was pure bliss. The atmosphere throughout the property was serene and relaxing, ideal for anyone looking to unwind and recharge.The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. They made us feel so special with their warm hospitality and were always happy to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Everything was presented beautifully, and it felt like a home-cooked meal with a touch of elegance. We truly fell in love with the calm vibe of the place and can’t wait to return for another peaceful getaway. Beds were comfortable and Breakfast was tasty. the Chalet had a few issues including an aircon that didn't work well and there were ants over our bedding when we arrived. additionally there wasn't any water, coffee or milk provided.

A bit outsite the city (5 km) it has serene surroundings as it is a part of a tea estate. The chalet was nice, spacious and the beds were comfortable. The included breakfast was awesome. And the caretakers took care of our requests. Highly recommended if you have are traveling with a car/rental. Nothing in particular. Some minor issues in the bathroom like a leaking shower hose and the shower cubicle sliding door bearings which can be easily fixed.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The location is ideal—surrounded by beautiful nature, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere while still being conveniently close to key attractions. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always going out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms were cozy, with stunning views of the natural surroundings. The food was a highlight—fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or an adventure in nature, this hotel is a perfect choice. Overall, our stay was pleasant, but the bathroom maintenance could use some attention.
Shiyara (9/5): it was a pleasant and relaxing stay and the staff were really friendly and hospitable. - The breakfast was a well-balanced combination of food items, and the presentation was visually appealing and tasty. Adding a dash of tomato would have enhanced the flavours and complemented the continental style even further. leaving an umbrella in the room and having a mode of communicating with the reception are improvements that might add to the stay.
Boran (9/5): It’s a lovely property but it’s the people (hosts) that make this place. We loved it here. - The hosts were incredibly kind, helpful and attentive. The breakfast was lovely. The chalets are clean and kept cool with great aircon. The WiFi was also great. It was an ideal place to stay and brilliant value for money. It’s a little bit further out from Galle Fort town but there are lots of cheap tuktuk’s around to get you to and from the property no problem.

Poor room cleanliness, poor property maintenance/cleanliness, no amenities on site (e.g. water!), no staff availability when needed, loud neighbors with music on till late night , not suitable for families at all.

Devanga (10/5): A Humble Weekend Getaway - Tasty and reasonably priced meals are available at the location itself. Quiet and peaceful environment. Away from the beach. Not walking distance from Galle Fort, therefore, a vehicle is required if you need to go sightseeing.

Living (6/5): Pleasant - Uniqueness of the place The chalet is very huge with 2 storey building and the place had only 1 AC machine and where the bed placed it is so hot and the AC is not enough. We had troubles sleeping specially since it is so hot these days in sri lanka. And the pool was not clean enough to swim.

We didn’t have lunch. However they provided a Sri Lankan banquet for us which was amazing. the pool and the views are 2nd to none and we cannot recommend this place enough. We want to thank the staff and the owner for providing us with a fantastic stay. They really are beautiful people.

The room lacked basic amenities like a chairs to sit at the table. A/C was not cooling properly. Nothing much to do while your here. The TV did not have any good channels subscribed. The washroom window had a clear glass reducing privacy. Was difficult to find a staff member to request anything. In my opinion it was not value for money.

Miranda M. (8/5): Beautiful property!! - After booking a hotel months in advance, we were notified 2 days before arriving in Sri Lanka that the hotel was not ready for guests. I immediately searched HomeAway and came across The Country House. The proprietor was very accommodating and helped us sort out arrangements without any stress or worry. Upon arrival, we were greeted with cold drinks and shown around the property. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing. Even after we left, the proprietor helped us over the phone when we were having issues communicating with our driver from Galle to Colombo. Highly recommend and hope to visit another time!
