Guest Reviews
- Athanasios (10/5): - Πολύ ευγενικό προσωπικό, τέλεια θέα!
- Y9623WNdavidl (8/5): Overall positive - I stayed for 5 nights whilst working in Northern Greece in June this year (2025). The Hotel is easy to find, being situated on the extreme west side of the city. The city centre and waterfront is a 5 minute drive further down the road.
Parking is limited but adequate-the spaces are mostly adjacent to the hotel. The hotel itself is quite small and offers a boutique feel-the rooms are well-appointed and clean-the corridors and floors leading to the rooms are up-lit and inviting.
I was warmly greeted by the reception team- they were very helpful-especially (I think I remember the name correctly) Paula and offered a great service-down to keeping an eye on my luggage as I had breakfast on the final morning.
The breakfast is a buffet-style affair, with plenty of everything. Georgia in the downstairs dining room was superb-nothing was too much hassle and I felt well-looked after. Similar story for Dimitrius in the rooftop restaurant. The small kindnesses were appreciated. The a-la-carte menu on offer upstairs catered for all tastes and arrived quickly.
I didn't give the full five stars, as I went to take a few photos overlooking the city at night time from the rooftop, and was promptly barked at by the manager upstairs, who assumed I wanted booze at 1am. When I explained I wanted a picture, not service of any kind (the area is always open and so is accessible even at night), he immediately climbed down and apologised, but the barking had been done at that point. Maybe he'd had a hard night, but it was a little unprofessional, and left a sour taste.
All in all, I was very happy with my stay, and would return. Hopefully lessons in assumption over patience were learned-but one less than perfect interaction in 5 days didn't upset my stay.
- kasapoust (10/5): Spa experience - We had a great experience in the spa facilities of the hotel. The staff (especially Despina) was kind and helpful! The relaxing atmosphere, clean environment, and excellent services made our visit unforgettable and truly rejuvenating.
- dogang936 (8/5): Beatiful Hotel with View on top of Kavala - On our trip back to Türkiye we stopped at Kavala. All hotels were full for without prior reservation. However we were very lucky to find a room at Egnetis City Hotel and it turned out to be a very good experience.
The location is great. There was parking place and the breakfast was great.
- 62lachezark (4/5): Disappointing - Room was very grubby, a leak on the ceiling, water stains, smell like damp, but price was was high enough. Even when we addressed the issue there was nothing said, just(Yes my colleague told me about it)also bed linen had some stains also but have pictures on my wife's phone
- DIMITRA (10/5): Τέλειο! - Εξαιρετικό κατάλυμα με καταπληκτική θέα!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Short Holiday and Accommodation Experience - Overall we were satisfied. The view of the rooms facing the sea is very beautiful and relaxing. The breakfast variety is very good and delicious. The attention and care of the hotel staff is also very good, but it would be good to make arrangements and maintenance for the bathroom. Additionally, having a SPA and a pool is an added advantage.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Great Staff, excellent location, great dining and breakfast and free parking
- VenkannaB_13 (2/5): Most Horrible room with non working AC - September 23rd
Checked in a hotel room 103
AC did not turn on - Balcony closed still AC not on
2 service guys came and managed to start the AC
The aid stream was very faint . The service guys promised that it would be cooler in next 30 minutes
But even after 5 hours , the room was warm
Asked the front desk a portable fan , which they did not have
I assume there is an issue with AC in room 103
Guests - please note if they allow 103- do not take risk , ask fir another room
Or find another hotel👎👎
- Wil (10/5): - Geweldig hotel, goed ontbijt, aardig personeel
- Funda (8/5): nice hotel - after a long car drive, we arrived the hotel with a friendly welcome at the information desk, thanks a lot. the breakfast was fresh and delicious. the view of the restaurant was very nice with Kavala in front of the window. only the parking was a little dangerous by a curve on the road. just be carefull..thanks for hospitality. enjoyed our one night stay at Egnatia hotel
- Erdogan (8/5): - .
- Vladimir (10/5): - Excellent and lovely place
- John (8/5): Disastrous beginnings - First room allocated was awful being located above the external heat pumps which prevented sleep and with no view at all except over the basement walls. I switched to a room overlooking the sea with a balcony for which I had to pay extra.
Staff very helpful but hotel not very full and circumstances could have been different. If I hadn't been able to swap rooms I'd have left after first night.
Photo on left is highly misleading as you have to pay a higher rate.
- 901sedaa (8/5): short weekend in eastern - the hotel is situtated in top hill on the city center (2 kms to center on foot ) and there is parking lot outside otel .
the view from hotels balcony to city and sea is fascinating . you can drink your teas at the end of day from this view , the sun is setting scenery . otel is clean no covid passport customers are accepted or at least yyou have to get a quick test .
hotel rooms are clean and big. the breakfast is enough . the variety of bakery goods and cheese can be more maybe ..
- Bogdan-Ionut (10/5): - The amenities were very pleasant. The parking spots off site are more than enough.
The roof top restaurant was open, the breakfast is open buffet.
The city tax was mentioned and requested at the end of the stay. I would have preferred to know about it from the start.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - excellent view of Kavala
very friendly staff
excellent covid-19 measures for breakfast
Amazing roof garden restaurant! Must try the 'Egnantia grepe"
- D9298TYmarinam (6/5): It could be better - Advantages : spacious room, big bathroom, the most polite and smiley personnel, all with masks because of Covid, following all the measures.
Average breakfast served though in a great balcony full of view.
Restaurant in the roof garden :amazing view, tasty food, awesome wine, delicious desserts, good prices
Disadvantages :very old and never cleaned air condition, more than old towels (ours were distressed). They said that they don't clean the room due to Covid unless you tell them to do. No air condition in the hallways. Don't book the internal rooms, there is only 1 window and no place to even hang your swimsuits. Parking in front of the hotel except the weekends which is always full, because of the external customers.
If you want to visit the center of Kavala every day just consider that the specific hotel is not close to the center of the city.
- ebarkay (10/5): 4 Nights in Kavala - We had the hotel booked as a part of our plan to stay in Kavala for 4 days.
The good:
1. Great rooms - room is large and very comfortable.
2. Super clean and very well maintained
3. Very nice breakfast
4. Friendly staff
5. Free parking in front of the hotel
To consider:
The hotel is located in the town's enterance - if you are looking for a place right next to the down town, near the resturants - than you should take into considuration it is 10 minutes of driving (or taxi).
Ask for an upgrade to have a sea view - it is amazing to sit in the balcony with such a nice view.0
- Verified traveler (10/5): business Trip - Clean and very welcoming.
- Michal (10/5): More than some 5 star hotels - Definitely a 4 Star plus hotel (imagine - every day in the elevator you have printed an up to date weather forecast. Great breakfast and reasonable in-room minibar prices.
- Larubiapeli (8/5): Good hotel - Nice hotel and staff
Cleaning
Good room and breakfast
Parking
Nice service
Good calidad and price
Good security
Staff nice
Very very nice and all was perfect
I will come back
Happy in this hotel personal educated
- VeronicaO1178 (8/5): Great location, bathrooms need updating - We've stayed with my partner for 3 nights. The location is great, the view amazing, the rooms comfortable, the bathroom needs updating for sure though. The room temperature was an issue. Is fixed and it gets way too hot and uncomfotable during the night. The advise we've been given was to open the balcony door. Not ideal solution for us. Other than that, the restaurant and the menu was GREAT and breakfast choices were very good. Service was brilliant. We didn't use the SPA area but it looked well organised with many options.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - resimdeki otel fotoğrafları ile gerçeğin alakası yok.
sıradan bir pansiyon gibi. kahvaltı kötü. banyo çok eski tarz.
- Vasilios (8/5): - That would tell was comfortable beautiful views but the hotel was very stingy had one extra coffee for breakfast and I had to pay for it
- Graham (8/5): Great views, old school charm - The Egnatia Hotel is a great place to stay. There is parking just next to it, and the first thing you can't help but notice once parked up is the stunning view over Kavala. Wow.
Reception is great, and the lift and landings give the hotel a real old school charm. The room is clean with a massive comfy bed. We were worried about having a room next to a busy road, but the hotel has invested in two lots of double glazing, so a great night's sleep was had by all.
The walk down to Kavala central was fine for us (c20 mins), but we opted for a cab back. Cabs are plentiful and ours in the evening was less than 5 euros.
Just one observation was that they could have done with more staff on their lovely roof terrace during the evening.
Definitely recommended!
- Jonny (6/5): - Hotel location is not the best as its on top of a very steep hill a good walk from the town although the views are stunning my only complaint is having to pay for pool and spa on top of an already expensive stay.
- MaryKathryn (10/5): FABULOUS Hotel! - Our stay was amazing. Everything was perfect. And Lia and Elias were so very kind and helpful to us in finding places. Everyone must know that your hotel is located in a marvelous location, close to so very many things. Yes, there is traffic, but that should be overlooked due to the convenience to so many grand stores and ancient finds. And your CoCo Mat bed was FABULOUS, we went to the store and bought one!
- Nachum (6/5): Nice hotel but far from the city center - Nice hotel but far from the city center. Wide room but badly organized.
- Grahame (8/5): Nice place to stay - Egnatia Hotel provides quality accomodation and facilites for a 4 star property. Get a room with a sea view and you won't be disappointed with one of the best vistas looking across Kavala to Thassos. Staff are friendly and the restaurant has great food at a reasonable price.
