Guest Reviews
- Edward (8/5): Deep in the Medina - Simple guest house with clean room. Wifi works in the downstairs garden, but I was never able to get a signal upstairs. For those will mobility limitations, the upstairs double room may present challenges as there are some very steep steps. The standard breakfast time of 09:00 is just too late. Location can be tricky to find, even after being escorted in the first time.
- corinnegr (10/5): - Un riad à l'ambiance familiale, tranquille.
Accueil sympathique. L'impression d'être en famille ! Une adresse comme on les aime !
- Rob (9/5): An oasis of peace in the medina - It is a beautiful Riad in the midst of the Meknes medina. Ask the owners to send someone to pick you up because you easily lose direction in the souk. The courtyard is off serene beauty just like the ample rooms.
- Kirscha (9/5): Prima!
- Francesca Panzeri (9/5): - Il riad è magnifico Difficile da raggiungere

- Hendrik (7/5): Authentieke accommodatie in hartje Meknès - Kleine oase in drukke stad. ‘s Nachts heel stil.

- Ekaterina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rajmund (7/5): A great experience of staying the the old, historical part of Meknes. - The riad is located in the old part of Meknes, accessible only on foot but relatively close to the parking place (30 MAD/night). The host is very helpful and and friendly, you need to rely on him to lead you to the riad for the first time. Do not expect to find the way to the riad without him :). So the location makes it a real cultural experience - if that is what you are looking for. Breakast was rather basic, it could be improved :).
- Patricia (7/5): Good - The riad was too rustical for our taste, but the staff was super nice and friendly. The inner garden was really beautiful. Our room was moldy and it smelled a bit weird.
- Asmae (10/5): Authentic - It was a truly special choice to stay in this riad .. in all aspects : the location, the price, the cleanliness, the simple traditional Moroccan interior , and the home-cooked breakfast and dinner was just very authentic I really spent my vacation in a place that made me feel like I was with my family( specially meknes is my home town :) but i haven’t been there since more than 7 years) and my trip exceeded my expectations
Of course, I want to give a special thanks Al-Thami and maryam who are managing the Riad :)
Excellent service 10/10 Communication and 10/10 facilitation of everything. Always a smile.
I really highly recommend it to anyone who wants to feel the feeling of an authentic Moroccan home to choose it
Thank you so much :)
- Judith (9/5): Beautiful tranquil Riad with very helpful friendly hosts - The family that run it are very friendly and helpful. A family member met us outside the medina and took us all the way. This has been better than all our other experiences where we have struggled to find places because maps have been misleading or people have not answered phones. The riad is beautiful and peaceful. The orange trees are 70 years old! Much of the work has been done by the owner and it is lovely. The breakfasts were filling with nice oj coffee and mint tea. The water was hot and the blankets sufficient. It is our first visit to Morocco and it might make you a bit nervous to follow a pretty dark alley at night with no one around and no signage. But thanks to our hosts we had been shown the way and we had no problem finding our way back after that. They are obviously working on making the entrance more inviting also.
- Kamonwan (9/5): Superb - Beautiful place, nice room The way to go inside the Riad
- Tobias (9/5): Great shady and cool riad in Meknes medina for a great price - Location, friendly host, shady cool garden, spacious room Small detail, it was not possible to hang up the shower head
- Alexandru2022 (9/5): The perfect venue to discover the real life in the ancient medina - you will feel like a local. - A perfect place to discover the beauty of a traditional house (riad) in the ancient medina of Meknes.
The interior garden is amazing.
Hosts are really great.
Strongly recommended to eat their home-made delicious tagine served at dinner (you should tell them in advance). Internet connection should be improved.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Babette (6/5): Peaceful riad deep inside the medina. - Nice peaceful place inside the medina but hard to find. It took us a long time to figure out where to park and were not able to contact them very well. Also, our booked room for 4 adults was changed into two separate rooms which were less comfortable. The room upstairs has quite some defects. Aircondition wiring was faulty, doors did not close well and the shower is very tiny. Also, wifi is not stable.
- Catalin (9/5): A very nice experience in Meknes! - We stayed only two nights in this Riad and the overall experience was very good. The owner was very kind and helpful. The inner courtyard and the room are very beautiful, in a traditional style. The price for the value was very good. The Riad is located in the old medina of Meknes so you need guide to get there from the Lahdim Square. When we arrived it was a little bit cold, there is no electrical heating, but we used a wood stove and it was very nice. During the night it was very quiet. The old gates in Meknes are under renovation but we went also one day to Fes.
- Sylvia (9/5): Authentic experience - The authenticity and helpful staff. Great experience for one night. We were cold at night despite the fireplace in the room.
- Halima (8/5): Very good -
- Tasha (10/5): Thami and his family were excellent hosts! The place is stunning! Location is excellent! - Breakfast was very good Everything was perfect!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Spartanisch mit nettem personal, schwer zu finden - Kleines staubiges zimmer, akzeptables frühstück, nettes personal, sicher, schwer zu finden, schöner innenhof
- Verified traveler (6/5): Lovely but loud - This is a beautiful renovated Riad in the medina of Meknes. The location is great and close to one of the main squares as well as to many of the Meknes attractions, restaurants, and taxi stands. It would have been helpful to have a map prior to arrival, as ultimately a local shopkeeper showed us the way to the (unmarked) Riad. This Riad is run by the owner and his family, who are friendly but not very welcoming. They did not have our reservation when we arrived and it took several hours to resolve this even though we showed them our confirmation information. Breakfast was simple and tasty, but quite late at 9am. We asked for an earlier breakfast in order to take a train for a daytrip and despite an agreement from the owner, no one was up at that time, so we ended eating at a nearby cafe. The Riad is extremely loud at night with children, TV, music, and other guests. This ends around 11:30pm and was quite stressful. This Riad might be good if you are a late sleeper/riser or don't have any early trains to catch, or maybe if you have children yourself.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I surprised that Hotel.com categories this accommodation in hotels group! In fact,it's a local property in which the owner arranges all services!
I have emailed twice for a pickup service a day before check-in,and the answer was recieved while I had been in there!also hotel phone number in hotel.com website was wrong and we found the hotel by chance!
The room has only a fireplace and it's not enough warm,Breakfast isn't good and tasty!
At all,it's not recommendable!
- MICHAEL (6/5): You get what you pay for! - This was our third destination in Morocco. Up to then we had encountered Riad owners who seemed to love their business and tried for us to get the best impression of their country. Here the owner seemed to have found a business that fed him and his family, but was neither welcoming nor really available to give advice. To get to the bathroom from the room we had to go down and up very high steps and the towels weren't either changed nor dried during the day.
