Guest Reviews
- Michael (2/5): - I cut my finger badly on the doorknob as it was broken and never repaired. Breakfast was very simple but super late, hardly possible to get anything to eat before 9am. - for business people horrific experience. the bathroom smelled terrible all the time. Warm water was available only one day.
location is very good close to the Sea, but there is a lot of homeless people and garbage everywhere.
The Service guy in the breakfast area shared his very conservative and offending opinion about women to all guests.
horrific experience I would defenitely recommend this Hotel.

- Maria (2/5): Horrible experience - When we arrived there was nobody at the reception but a little kid sitting on the chair and it took them a while to attend us after we rang the bell multiple times. In the room the trashcan from the previous guests had not been emptied, the bathroom had not been cleaned, there were hairs on the sink and the corners of the shower were black. After complaining they told us that the cleaning lady only came at 10-12 in the morning; given that we arrived at 5pm they bascially had not cleaned our room. They told us that the next morning they would finally clean our room, so we had to sleep in an uncleaned room. The sheets and towels were apparently new, only thing they had changed, but one of the pillowcases had a stain on it. There was only one already started toilet paper roll. We asked the recpetionist for more toilet paper rolls and a new pillow as we left for a walk. When we came back they had changed nothing. There was no hot water in the shower or in the sink from the moment we arrived until the next morning. They did not fix anything we asked for. We left the following day, 2 days before the end of our stay, we were disregarded with an attitude. Would definitely not recommend. Not clean and bad service.
- jeffkH6647LN (10/5): Amazing service and very comfortable stay - We were OVER THE TOP happy with our stay at Shah Inn. It's a quaint, clean, Scandinavian style decorated boutique bed and breakfast with amazing friendly service. The breakfast was delicious and we looked forward to it every morning. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We will definitely be back our next time in Istanbul.
- Jeff (10/5): - The service was above and beyond. Every staff member greeted us with a smile and did everything to accommodate us during our stay. The room was very comfortable and the location is great. We can't wait for our next visit.
- ABDULSALAM (4/5): - .
- ghincea (10/5): - Fair deal, near sea side and small port, coffe shops and restaurants everywhere.
Host very kind,reception 24/7
- Dinara (8/5): - Location
- Timur (8/5): - Very nice and affordable hotel right on the beach of Yesilkoy in Istanbul. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we had a good time. The one thing we didn't have was an a/c - and there was party on the beach right in front of our window until around 2:00 am. Overall it was a great stay for the price
- MOHAMMED H (6/5): Not recommended - Room is not matching the photos. Very poor in cleaning. No respect for guests when there were some workers working early morning next to my room's door making noise.
- Aymen Nabeel Yaseen (8/5): Fair enough - It was nice and has such a great location and surrounded with a lot of different restaurants and sea view but the breakfast was under my expectation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and next to lots of restaurants. 10 min to ataturk airport.
- Jehad (2/5): - First the place is far away from any automobile access so if you have luggage forget it because you need to walk for a far distance, after we walked in to check in no one was available or behind the counter for about 15 min . We felt very uncomfortable and the clerk at front desk was very rude.
It had a moldy smell and it looks fishy???
- Anna maria (6/5): Room cold - Heater system didn't work in the first room. I prolonged my stay until 8pm today so they gave me another room that was a bit better. Breakfast on Sunday finished 10 am too early so I could t have. Good reception anyway
- Ayman (4/5): - The room smells like someone was smoking in it for years.
The room has no safety vault
No napkins
No shampoo, only some liquid that is not obvious wether it's shower gel or shampoo
No complimentary water, they charge you for these
The cieling is low and triangular, if you had a hair transplant procedure then good luck to your scalp
- Dilek (10/5): - Clean, convenient hotel, nice location. Very good for price.
- EMS141 (2/5): Not recommended at all.... - Very noisy hotel !!!
In and out if the hotel
Not so clean.
I was trying to sleep but was impossible !!
At 02:30 my neighbor decide to have sex with an escort girl and it was like we had sex all together
After that a group of people they decide to have party or something around 04:00!!!
So at the end I didn’t sleep at all!!!
I don’t recommend this hotel at all if you want to sleep or relax
Only if you want to have som “fun”
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The bathrooms need updating and dirty. The smell from the drainage was awful. And the mosquitoes didn't let us get a wink of sleep. The noise in the cafe downstairs went on till early hours of the morning. Wouldn't ever stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good location for over night to airport - Shaheen, the owner, is the best. He made our stay so comfy. The eara is so good, has lots of fish restaurants and lots of night life. If u r flighing next day, its the best choise. Other hotels next to the airport r far away from every thing, but this one is in the middle of every thing.
- Kevin (6/5): Quick night at Shah-Inn - It was a quick stay b/c we flew out early the next morning. The hotel mngt was very friendly and accommodating. There was a kids park right outside our window so it was quite noisy at random times during the night. Overall, we chose this hotel b/c of how close it was to the airport. Could have been cleaner and didn't seem like there were many people staying there.
- Fredy H (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT - DO NOT STAY I THIS HOTEL YOU WILL REGRATE IT.
I did not get stay the three day that I pay for with not refund, because the place was too noise, too small, the bed broke down when I set on it, there were no English channels, location was very bad. even though I lose $263 American dollars, I moved to the courtyard mariot and that was way over the top for $152 American dollars The mariot was amazing.
I RECOMEND YOU GO TO THE COURTYARD MARIOT.
- Gary (6/5): Shah Inn ok but not great - We arrived late in the evening and found no towels in the bathroom and no kettle in the bedroom although there was laid out tea and coffee and milk and sugar and only one glass cup
- mpfund6617 (6/5): Great location -- too bad about the noise - This hotel is in a great location, near the airport and walking distance to a terrific fish restaurant. The rooms are as pictured and the bathroom is lovely -- all marble with an excellent shower. But the restaurant is closed for "renovations" and you should not believe the picture on their website showing the uniform clad staff (who are in fact t shirt and jeans guys).
The hotel is located next to a small park. At night all the local drunks congregate there and carouse and sing (off-key) until about 4AM, when the neighborhood dogs take over with their howling and barking.
If you decide to stay here, take industrial strength ear plugs.
- MTurgut (10/5): Enjoyable stay - I stayed there twice (May, 2014 & December, 2014). Both visits were quite enjoyable. The hotel is pretty close to the airport and far from all the city noise. It's a small hotel with 10+ rooms. Breakfast can be slightly improved, but overall everything is nice. Close to the seaside, great restaurants, shopping places, etc. Strongly recommended
- Ange516 (8/5): Great hospitality and comfort in a cool neighbourhood - This is one of very few hotels in this area and we stayed here for only one night, since we wanted to be close to the airport. Infact, it's a 10-15 min ride for 20 TL from there. Already before we even checked in, they were so welcoming, helpful and gracious with us and allowed us to leave some of our luggage while spending a few days at the coast. We had a very nice, clean and light room with a view of the marina and the park. Everything worked perfectly from the a/c to the internet to the shower. The neighbourhood, Bakirköy, was a whole new great discovery, it becomes very alive in the evenings, has plenty of nice, high quality fish restaurants, local eateries, coffee shops, shisha bars, even a Catholic church and a lovely seaside promenade with some beaches. It was so nice to stroll around and take in the local life! It also means kids are playing just outside the window until midnight or later. It didn't bother us, we slept well even though you can hear noises easily in the house. Breakfast takes place downstairs in a restaurant from 8-10am. Since our flight was late they let us stay longer than check-out time in our room without charging. I really have to say that the staff was super easy-going and welcoming and they went out of their way to make our short stay and our last day in Istanbul memorable!
- Mostafabadreldin (6/5): A transit visit of just one night , a surprisingly lively area near the airport. - My wife and I were looking for a reasonably priced small Hotel near Ataturk Airport , this one appeared to fit the bill ,it was near , on the shore of YESHIL KOY , nice clean and modern rooms with all the nesseceties ,and helpful staff. I was at first a bit dissappointed with the area, narrow streets and a bit crowded, but walking around we discovered it had all kinds of restaurants and small shops , but it had also a narrow lane with what is called MEYHANE where you have excellent mezzes and drinks , similar to the famous one near Istiklal street.
- NICHOLASGILROY (8/5): TRENDY & MODERN - -modern hotel in heart of Yesilkoy town and 15 mins taxi ride from Ataturk airport
-many bars & restaurants walkable
-room very well equipped with several nice touches
-very comfortable bed
-breakfast included in room rate
-breakfast served in adjoining steak restaurant which is owned by hotel
-wi fi fast
-please note - overall sound proofing throughout the building is very poor, especially from adjoining rooms, and can detract from what is really a nice hotel
top tips:
-short notice requests for airport shuttle pick up, especially at weekends, not available
-get the hotel address in Turkish - to show to an airport taxi driver - even so close - some are unfamiliar with Yesilkoy town location and maybe unhappy with such a short/low fare
- gregmD6607GZ (10/5): Serenity at the Shah Inn - Scheduled to arrive at Ataturk Airport we booked the hotel as we wanted to have somewhere relatively close to the airport. We landed a few hours late and caught an airport cab to the Shah Inn which cost 17 TL and took about 15 mins. The driver was not familiar with hotel so kept asking other cabs for specific directions when we were in the vicinity.
Checking in at 5AM we received a warm welcome but checked what time breakfast was served as it was included (8-10). Before succumbing to the inviting bed I peeked out the window and could just make out the silhouette of the boats in the marina.
The room was tastefully decorated and we had a good sleep. The next morning I was just going to get breakfast and bring it back to the room but actually came back and gave my gf (who is NOT a morning person) 15 minutes to get ready for breakfast in the restaurant as it looked so charming.
Breakfast involved bread, cheeses, tomato, salad, boiled egg and fresh coffee. We went for a lovely walk along the beachfront where people were cycling, running and exercising. We had only booked for one night but perhaps 2 would've been better as it was very relaxing. The restaurant was actually a specialist steak house so it would have been great to sample those before heading into the city where we had reserved an apartment in Cihangir.
There are a lot of coffee shops, restaurants and bars in the area and as well as play areas for kids, with one right next to the hotel.
Ramadan/Ramazan the manager was very helpful and had a lovely sense of humour. He also arranged transportation for us to the city for a reasonable rate.
If you like taking it easy and want to get a glimpse of a different side to Istanbul then I would definitely recommend the Shah Inn and please have a steak for me!
- Konstantinoschr (8/5): Very near to airport - Its a very nice place to stay if you want to go to the CNR expo near the airport for business or if you want to have your holidays in front of the sea.The only negative thing is that you have to search a little bit to find it.But i like the area, the friendly staff and the nearby restaurant ELEOS!! and its my second time here.
- IsinaA (10/5): Great choice in a very alive neightborhood - I had a connecting flight with Capadoccia and needed to stay at the hotel from one night near the airport. I''m really happy We stayed here. We arrived at a friday night and the neightboorhood was so alive! Small streets decorated with lights, locals food stores everywere and local restaurants with all the turkish offer they can give. As it is a placed in a Marina, fish a predomintant, there a variaty or retaurants that are only fish, so you. Better ask before if you are not a fish lover.
The hotel is new, centric and Ramadan is very nice. All the rooms have ocean view and includes breakfast. The bathroom and the room were clean and it was not noise as I read somewhere. We just loved our first night at Istambul!
- Arbetochfritid (4/5): It started so nicely.... - Nice staff, clean rooms and even perfectly decent food. But then it was time to go to bed. The basic idea with a hotel is still to get a good nights sleep. Here its sadly not possible. I have been to a lot of nasty noisy hotels in Turkey but this must be one of the worst places.
A next door neighbor took a phone call at midnight. I could hear not only the person next door talking, but even the caller at the other end. You don't need to turn on your TV either, you can easily listen to the one next door . At 01.30 am someone decided to have a shower. Perfectly okay. However it was like the person was having his shower in our bathroom. The walls must be made of some sort of cardboard. The plumbing ads its contribution to the soundscape as well. It could be so nice, but if you want to sleep don't come here. Admittedly I am a light sleeper but no one else in our party could sleep properly either. What a pity because the staff try hard and the place looks nice. But the builders are the real culprits here, shoddy, shoddy.
- Voyageur446 (10/5): Great hotel at 5km from the Istanbul airport - It is with pleasure that we are recommending this beautiful new boutique hotel that offers an outstanding price to service offered ratio. We needed a place near the airport (taxis from airport less than $10) but wanted to be located in the action, and that is exactly what we got with numerous cafe, restaurants in front of the sea at less than 3 min walk. Moreover, the people are very hospitable, we were nominated for the ice bucket challenge and they kindly prepared us a huge bucket.
- networkedrobotics1 (10/5): Very nice hotel - This is a small hotel but the rooms are well-appointed. I had a great view of the ocean, and they helped me carry my luggage in the pouring rain to a taxi.
One downside, the cab driver from the airport to the hotel had a hard time finding it because its set back from the street a bit.
The cab they arranged to take me from the hotel back to the airport was honest. In Istanbul the hotels often have "arrangements" with the taxi drivers that they get for guests, and it was a big positive to have an honest driver take me to the airport for a normal cost.
- 798ramazank (10/5): excellent hotel - I was last week istanbul for business.i stay a few nights from shah inn hotel they is new and all staff is friendly and i like her then visit istanbul i stay again this hotel...Thank you to all employees
- Tejpreet1973 (10/5): My Stay @ Hotel Shah-Inn - Istanbul - It was a great experience for staying at Hotel Shah-Inn Istanbul for 5 nights. Nice and decent well managed rooms. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is decent. Above all, the location is awesome, sea side.. nearby you may find many restaurants... Famous Fish Restaurant is very near to this Hotel
- kivancgorkem (10/5): very convenient hotel close to istanbul airport - Actually Istanbul is my home town but in order to catch an early flight and avoid Istanbul's heavy traffic in the morning, I have decided to choose this hotel.
Hotel is brand new and whole staff try to make you comfortable like at your home. This small boutique hotel has a great sea view and perfect walking-jogging opportunities.
Location is just 100 meters away from famous seafood restaurants and lots of cafes bars etc. Additionally the breakfast menu and ingredients are superb worth to visit just for breakfast.
hotel is just minutes away from Istanbul's main airport and cnr and ifm expo centers.
Price quality ratio including that wonderful breakfast is just perfect.
If you travel with kids there is a also safe playing area with toys in front of the hotel.
wi-fi is free like breakfast and connection quality is very good.
hotel does not have spa or fitness center but as mentioned above it is just on the beach and has a good walking route.
