La mise à disposition d'un frigo avec des boissons fraiches (surtout qu'il faisait très chaud), une machines à expresso pour le matin. L'hôtel est en fin de zone industrielle et à la campagne donc appréciable il n'y avait personne le matin pour remettre en service la machine à café après 3 cafés
Helene (8/5): Für meine Geschäftsreise der perfekte Rückzugsort! - Außergewöhnlich netter, persönlicher Service – immer bemüht, mir den Aufenthalt angenehm zu machen. Als ich nach einem langen Arbeitstag erst gegen halb zehn Uhr abends nach Küchenschluss im Hotel eintraf, bekam ich im Handumdrehen eine ausgezeichnete Auswahl an Rohmilchkäse mit frischem Brot als Abendessen serviert. Auch das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen. Kleiner Wermutstropfen: Neben der Whirlpool-Badewanne im Zimmer stand bei meiner Ankunft eine leere Badezusatz-Dose, die auch nicht durch aufgefüllt oder ersetzt wurde.

Paul (10/5): Lovely hotel with a stylish mix of old world charm and modernity. - The staff were extremely welcoming and catered to our every need. They were also very kind whenever we needed anything extra. The restaurant at the hotel is first class and I thoroughly recommend visitors eat there! Not that I didnt like this, but you have to know that a vehicle is essential if you stay here (no public transport)

Nicolas (8/5): Lovely traditional hotel with great connection to Baar and nature and amazing breakfast! - Fabulous traditional hotel complete with squeaky floors, winding corridors and stairs - the view from my room to the river was direct on to nature and I could hear the river - very soothing. The breakfast was outstanding - best scrambled eggs ever and the variety of jams and fresh bread etc just great. I stayed on a Tuesday night / it seems the restaurant is closed mon-wed but it would have been nice to know this in advance - there is nowhere, at all, in the immediate vicinity to find a decent meal on Monday or Tuesday - I was directed to the local macdonalds or the petrol station. it was chilly and drizzling; I was on foot :( (Wednesday apparently there is a restaurant across the road). I would really have appreciated notification of this in advance. It would also have been nice if the hotelier had offered a simple plate of cold meat and cheese … they have this available for breakfast! It won’t stop me staying again as everything else was great but it was disappointing on the night.

The light at the entrance door during the night could be with movement detection. I think it didn't work. Air conditioning would be great.

M.j. (7/5): Gastronomic bliss with rooms that deserve some TLC. - The dinner was exceptional. The way the dishes were prepared and the quality and freshness of the food where incredible. It's clear where the owner's/chef's passion lies. What looked to be a quiet day for the hotel turned into a fully booked restaurant with local guests coming from everywhere filling up the big parking lot to the last spot. All cars were gone when we left early next morning. The rooms are big but simple and dated. Don't get me wrong, all facilities were available (except for AC) but for getting a cup of coffee after waking up in the morning you need to go outside your room to find a nespresso machine installed in a closet for general use. Looking at the room rates compared to other hotels we have visited in Switzerland, then this hotel could improve their room facilities. Especially when you have such an excellent chef in the kitchen.
idandb (4/5): Expensive and poor service - The hotel is located at a busy, unattractive road junction although the rooms at the rear are quiet. The rooms are well appointed and clean. However when we were there the hotel was virtually unstaffed and the young woman who did appear to show us to our room was polite but unhelpful. The restaurant was unfortunately closed. The price asked for these rooms is usually high for a 3 star hotel in this area and there are better and cheaper options nearby. I cannot recommend this hotel.
CIreland (8/5): Good family run hotel - I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for a night in March 2020. The purpose of the visit was for business and there was also a meeting at the hotel. I had lunch at the hotel with the other meeting attendees and the food was excellent. The rooms were large and the breakfast the following morning was more of a dinner (than a breakfast). Most of the staff can speak English (as I don't speak German) and were very friendly.
Seereel (10/5): Modern and vintage style combined - Rooms are given Latin name such as "veni, vidi, vici", have modern furniture, but you can still see the vintage infrastructure such as the bidet or water taps in the bathroom. There is free coffee, tea, mineral water and some sweet available for all rooms in the hall. The restaurant is top notch! There is e.g. a 13 courses menu available and a fantastic choice of mature cheese. The restaurant serves mainly traditional Swiss menus such as 3 filets. It all comes with a price tag but it is worth it!
SirishK19 (10/5): An interesting hotel, very different, great staff amazing food. - Although the hotel is not so far away from a busy road the rooms are very quiet and comfortable and there is a stream running behind the hotel which my room had a view of which makes the whole thing peaceful the room also had a spacious balcony where one can sit out and enjoy the nature around it. The owner himself is the Chef very down to earth and friendly he and his staff were ready to fulfil every wish.

I was very disapointed that the restauant was closed on Monday and Tuesday so couldn't taste their famous chef's cuisine. I had the room Carpe Diem with a design that didn't match the rest of the buidling. Very nice breakfast. Hope to go there again when the restaurant is open.

FlyingDutch84 (10/5): Great hotel & hospitality - In 2010 we stayed in Hotel Krone and we experienced a special time which stayed in our memories over the years. Now, 5 years later, after our holiday in Italy we decided to pay hotel Krone another visit and we had a great stay. From a sublime (star!) dinner to a great room with whirlpool bath/ free wifi and relaxing music in our room, our evening was wonderfull. In the morning we were treated to a great breakfast. The owners are warm and welcoming and the staff very friendly and helpfull. The hotel breathes a warm atmosphere. I am sure we will find our way to Hotel Krone once again in the next couple of years.
JonS961 (8/5): Great Value - Stayed here for one night. The price, 170 CF, was great and included free bottled water, soda, and beer! Hotel is neat old hotel, with unique rooms and an attached barn with stables. There was a quaint resturant, but we did not get a chance to try it for breakfast or dinner. The staff was extremely friendly, but sometimes a bit hard to get a hold of.
annaried (10/5): A Trip to Heaven - The Krone's Restaurant - Charming, old worldly, this family run establishment is now in its 12th generation. Its guest book alone is a time trip into another world. The rooms and furniture complete the ambience. Recently we had reason to celebrate and decided for the Krone’s gourmet meal: a series of 8 (or 9) courses, each one small and magical, and each one accompanied by a glass of the perfect wine. The service was impeccable, as always. Just a small idea: At the beginning of the evening they asked if there was anything any of us could not or would not eat. I mentioned my gluten sensitivity and: Voila- they served me with freshly baked, gluten-free and utterly delicious warm bread and rolls. That has never happened to me elsewhere. The evening was perfect. If I can load it up i will complete my reference with a shot of the cheese cart, which alone is worth a visit.
PeterS959 (10/5): Wonderful Weekend - This place is an excellent choise for a romantic weekend. We had a great room equipped with multimedia system and jacuzzi. Soft drinks, beer, coffee and icecream is available and included in the room rate. The restaurant is one of the best I have ever visited. The awesome young chef is extremely creative, blending asian flavours with traditional Swiss cuisine.
