• Alison (8/5): Wonderful location, staff and breakfast - Lovely old authentic building with amazing staff and a wonderful breakfast each morning, included in the price. the staff gave me lots of suggestions for places to go and visit and also eat. The beds are soooo comfortable. It was a bit dark in the room as it is within a courtyard, we did have trouble with the water being too hot but this was sorted out immediately.

• Sandy (6/5): It was okay experience, the staff was okay. Everything was okay, not amazing but not horrible. - I thought the breakfast was great. I thought the location was okay, as single women staying alone I didn't like you had to knock in order for someone to open the door for you. The area was quiet and I didn't feel comfortable, I wouldn't say it is not safe though. The staff was okay. There was only person and the security guards were super friendly. There was no vibe as you walk in. It was just okay, I didn't love it. I wanted to, but it was just okay for me.

The floors are so uneven it's hard to walk. Doors and wardrobes hang open due to the slope. Bathrooms are cramped and showers are terrible.

• mikecheech218 (10/5): Great Stay in Roma! - What a wonderful stay in Roma! Recently stayed with my wife on a brief 4 day, 3 night trip to Mexico City and was extremely happy to have stayed at Casa Goliana. This is a quaint bed and breakfast located in a great location. Easy access to many of the attractions all around the city. We stayed in Room 5 on the upper floor, which was bright and beautiful and overlooked the street with a small “balcony”. Noise level was fine for us, but maybe some would need ear plugs at times - which they provide. The floors were a bit creaky - which gives it charm, we just hope we didn’t annoy any other guests since we stayed up to around midnight coming from Los Angeles time. All of the staff were very friendly, attentive, and ensured we had a great trip. I pre-ordered flowers through the hotel and upon arrival we were greeted by a huge, beautiful bouquet of pink roses. We also easily booked a relaxing massage at the hotel - would definitely recommend. Also, I must mention the mattress was probably the comfiest hotel mattress I’ve ever slept on. Great sheets as well. Re: the breakfast it was very good. Nice pastries/bread, fruit, delicious juices, great coffee + an option from the menu (at the time was eggs, omelette, tamale). I definitely recommend staying at Casa Goliana anytime you are in Roma/Condesa!
• LexAmy55 (10/5): Outstanding place in Roma - Best service I’ve had at any hotel! Jess and Pamela and the whole concierge team were unfailingly helpful and friendly. The building seems to be a renovated mansion—sweeping staircase, high ceilings, spacious guest rooms, including the bathrooms. It's both charming (slightly tilted floors) and elegant at the same time, and very secure (access only if the porter buzzes you in). Try the tamal for breakfast, as well as the delicious homemade salsa that comes with the eggs.

• 640vanessa (2/5): Hotel rooms with no windows or fresh air~ like sleeping in a basement - Casa goliana is in a lovely location in Roma~ we had booked for last New Year’s Eve and had to cancel for illness. They offered us a credit to use within one year and we booked for a night this week. We arrived on later side ~ 9:00 pm and had reserved the luxury king. They took us to a room behind reception with no windows/ no ventilation. I asked for a room with a window and they took us to a smaller room next door with a small window that opened into the common interior courtyard with foot traffic~ no fresh air. We returned to the original room ( larger ) with resignation for the evening and once we turned off the lights the air conditioner had a bright light that kept us up all night. The reception was gone for the night to speak with as well. I believe a hotel should be transparent if a room is in a basement or has no window or fresh air and it should be at a lesser rate so the traveler has the information to make an informed decision. We felt we were put in this inferior room since it was late and other rooms with windows/ fresh air were occupied . The staff was lovely~ particularly jasmine ~ however we wont stay here again given above. As a traveler it strikes me as deceptive. I wrote a comment to the hotel and their reply was that I could have told them to turn down the light on the air conditioner even though there was nobody in reception. Beware of interior rooms with no ventilation in this hotel~ and no transparency about this
• giancarlomM3208XF (10/5): Excellent place to stay in Roma Norte - Would not want to stay anywhere else if visiting CDMX again! Very charming and comfortable with amazing breakfast provided. Right in the middle of Roma Norte with a short walk to any number of delicious restaurants and places to shop. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and we feel so lucky to have found this gem of a hotel!

• G6002BAiness (10/5): Beautiful small boutique hotel with an amazing staff - We can’t recommend Casa Goliana highly enough after a delightful six-night stay. We look forward to returning soon! The house itself is beautiful with lovely spacious outdoor terraces and a charming dining room where a complimentary breakfast is served every morning. We stayed in the master suite, which has a bedroom with a king size bed and a separate living space. It is ideal either for a couple or 3 people traveling together, including a family of 3. The sitting room can convert into a second bedroom, and each room gives you maximum privacy. A large well appointed bathroom sits between the two rooms of the suite. The rooms themselves were well furnished with comfortable sitting areas. The air conditioning worked well too. The hotel has 24 hour security and Don Carlos and Don Augustín were always ready to lend a helpful hand. The location in Roma Norte can’t be beat. Just around the corner and down the street, you have access to a variety of cafes, restaurants, and shops. One day we walked to the Museo del Objeto, yet another hidden Mexico City gem. From Casa Goliana we were able easily to get around to where we wanted to go or to get an Uber when we needed one. The beautiful setting is matched by the outstanding staff. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. As we were heading out one more morning. we were offered umbrellas in case we hadn’t brought them from home. A special shout out to Pam. She put together an extensive list of vegetarian restaurants and cafes to ensure one of our party had good options and shared personal insights about her wonderful hometown of Mexico City. The staff gave us numerous other recommendations of their favorite cafes, restaurants and local attractions, encouraging us to visit Museo Anahuacalli in Coyocan, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. When we brought take out back one night from a local taqueria, the staff set up the dining room for us to use. They also had wine available for purchase. Casa Goliana also partners with several local tours and can make all the arrangements for you. Casa Goliana is a treasure. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Mexico City.
• Sunshine800139 (10/5): A lovely B&B that goes above and beyond - This was our first time to Mexico City and we were hoping to stay somewhere with a great location that would give us an authentic experience. Casa Goliana was the perfect choice! Staying in this beautifully renovated early 20th century home connected us to the history of the neighborhood. And the warmth of the entire staff gave us a sense of the culture. The room was lovely and comfortable, and the fresh breakfast was a bonus. The hotel is within walking distance of excellent restaurants, bars, parks and entertainment. It’s ideal. We loved Mexico City, but the help and various recommendations from Pam and her team throughout our stay made our trip even better. We hope to be back!
• A666GCdavidw (6/5): Great location and friendly staff mixed with some negatives - Had difficulty choosing between 3 and 4 for this one. Positives: - very polite, friendly and helpful staff - good location for Roma Norte - spacious room - good air conditioning (in part of the room; see below) - clean and comfortable - security 24/7 to monitor ingress/egress Negatives: - we got the master suite, which is basically two rooms separated from each other by the entrance and bathroom. Second room and bathroom had no air conditioning, so essentially we paid extra for a suite we couldn’t use since it was almost 90 degrees F during our stay. - impossible to control the shower temperature. At any moment, it would fluctuate to either very cold or scalding hot - lots of street noise. For us, we stayed mainly on weekdays, so most of the noise was cars honking their horns starting early in the morning. On Friday night, we heard sirens blaring close by all night long. - floors very slanted and squeaky in spots. This could be seen as part of a charming old building. However, it was difficult to navigate at night and very noisy, waking your partner when getting up in the middle of the night. Squeaky bathroom door hinges didn’t help. - limited breakfast menu doesn’t change daily and could be a lot better.

The location couldn't be better, and the rooms were clean, quiet, and surprisingly spacious. The staff were exceptional, providing top-notch service throughout my stay. As for breakfast, it exceeded my expectations with its variety and quality. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone visiting CDMX!
• OneLove206 (10/5): Charming Stay at Casa Goliana - I loved Casa Goliana. I loved the crooked floors and the natural light. The location is perfect. We walked almost everywhere, including to many great restaurants. (Definitely try Bao Bao right across the street!) Museums were an easy Uber away. Our room upstairs was very comfortable (though the stairs at altitude got us every time!). I must have a comfortable bed, nice linens and great shower pressure and the Goliana had all of these. The breakfast room is charming with its chandelier, art, morning cappucinos and croissants. It felt very Parisian in that way. We felt safe at all times- like we were in a well appointed cocoon. But the real stand out was the hospitality of the Goliana staff. Jazmin, Arantza, Augustin, the attentive housekeeping crew and, most especially, Pam. There was a professionalism but also an ease that we appreciated. No corporate chain mumbo jumbo. Just genuine hospitality. If you like boutique hotels, the Goliana is for you!
• Islington185 (10/5): Lovely hotel and terrific staff in a great location - We had a great stay at Casa Goliana. It's a beautiful, old building that has been lovingly restored. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are well appointed, and breakfast was simple but delicious. The staff are incredible and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. Anything we needed, we just had to ask. Casa Goliana's location in the heart of the Roma district is great for seeing the city and accessing restaurants and shops--but it is a busy part of the city, and so some of the street-facing rooms might be a bit noisy for light sleepers. If that's you, consider asking for a quieter room at the back of the hotel. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on a future trip to CDMX.

• amybV7381UC (10/5): Nice intimate hotel in great Roma Norte neighborhood - Casa Goliana in Mexico City is a lovely intimate boutique hotel in the Roma neighborhood - very close to restaurants and bars in the nieghborhood - as a single female I felt completely safe and it is really a great location. The staff is very helpful and will go to great lengths to make sure your stay is a good one. The room was very nice - well appointed, clean and lots of space and the daily breakfast was very well prepared. All in all a very good experience and one that we will repeat when in the DF. • jdhmsp (10/5): Fantastic base to explore Mexico City! - My wife and I had a fantastic experience at Casa Goliana on our first trip to CDMX. We stayed in a very comfortable Luxury King room (great bed!) with high ceilings on the second floor. The room had tall windows facing the street, but was generally very quiet even though the street was busy at times. We also appreciated the charming common spaces, including the very nice outdoor terrace where we relaxed with a glass of wine after touring the city. For us, though, the very best part was the outstanding front desk staff who assisted us with arrangements (both before we arrived and during our stay) and offered thoughtful guidance and recommendations for restaurants, museums and shops throughout our stay. And they always did so in a friendly and professional manner. They were critical in making our first trip to the city very easy and memorable.
• macatove (6/5): Not as good as the reviews - The reviews were great so I thought this would be a nice spot. Our first room was in the basement (lower floor) it was very dark and so we moved rooms. Upstairs was better but for the price I felt it was overpriced - $400USD for a basic room feels like you're getting ripped off. You can hear everything and the surrounding area was not very nice. The breakfast was ok. Luckily I was able to leave after the first night Best part was the staff - they were all very nice and helpful.

I complained and received a refund. Management confirmed that they will only refund if guests are “unhappy” with their practice. Our room #3 was cramped and so close to reception that you could hear every conversation. Unheated bathroom was freezing and drafty in December. Very sparse amenities: 1/2 liter carafe of drinking water, one hand towel for 2 persons. Breakfast was stingy and unimaginative and, for a “foodie” city, shockingly tasteless: rubbery eggs and a tablespoon of beans. We were not the only guests who left most of our egg dishes uneaten. When we had to leave at 7:30am for the airport the promised early or to-go breakfast never materialized. The dining room with coffee machine was locked. On the positive side: friendly and helpful staff, good location in Roma Norte, beautiful building facade, comfortable bed with soft sheets.

• Fiona (5/5): Passable - Lovely property, delightful staff, great location for restaurants and bars. The room lacked a window, and backed onto a property that appeared to be a nightclub. As a result, it was extremely noisy, and a white noise machine and earplugs were provided in a vain attempt to compensate. The hotel were obviously aware of the problem and do not rent this room out at weekends because of it. But we were there on a Thursday night and the noise was still deafening all night long, possibly because it was the Christmas period so extra events were taking place. Worth checking in advance that the hotel will guarantee that there will be no room noise before booking.

• My (6/5): Wonderful staff and location but avoid the first floor rooms - Staff were super helpful and especially accommodating when our arrival flight was delayed. Location was very central and walkable to most things in Roma and Condesa. I'm sure the other rooms in the hotel on second and third floors were nice, but the one we stayed at on the first floor was terrible. As I mentioned, we had hardly any natural light or air flow. Fortunately we did not spend much time in the hotel itself and its proximity to many other things helped, but the quality of the room definitely kept us away.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect place for Roma Norte - Perfect location. Extremely comfortable bed in a good sized room, and wonderfully welcoming staff and overall feel. Casa Goliana doesn't feel like a hotel, in a good way. It feels as though you've lived there. Although it is an old house and the floors are creaky, I never heard any other guests unless they were in the walking in the hallway. I much prefer this home to the sterile copy/paste hotels from major chains.
• Peter (10/5): A gem in such a huge city. - A gem of a hotel in such a huge city. We based ourselves at Casa Goliana for 7 days and couldnt have chosen a better place. Exceptionally clean with very friendly and helpful members of staff. We had a suite at the front of the hotel, huge comfortable bed, separate living room and a nice large bathroom. We even chilled in the room on a couple of occasions as it felt so relaxing to do so and if you have a Netflix or Amazon account, you can access them through the Smart TV in your room. Breakfast was more than adequate, with the staff providing fresh avocado each day for us when it was found we were vegetarian....thank you. The hotel provides refreshments ie drinks and snacks, to purchase but there is a convenience store directly opposite for these too. The hotel's location is excellent, numerous restaurants and bars nearby, including a superb Asian restaurant directly opposite. Condesa and Chapultepec Park are within easy walking distance too. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone wishing to visit CDMX.

The staff was helpful and super friendly even before we arrived, securing a great guide for our visit to Teotihuacan, making our first night dinner reservation so we could easily head out upon our evening arrival, and then always ready with tips on local food and drink spots when we just wanted to walk somewhere. Breakfast spread was the same each day but with such a broad array of options we never considered leaving to go elsewhere. Though we did pick up fresh baked cardamom buns at nearby Panaderia Rosetta!! Definitely a score to be able to walk there! My rating is a 5 for how perfectly it met our needs and the comfort level but gave it 4 stars (would have given it 4.5 if I could have!) only because I hold 5 stars for well executed luxury properties.

It being an older building there are no elevators, so if you are not too keen on walking up and down the stairs, find another place to stay though the staff will carry your bags to and from your room.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Terrible room, rest of hotel was great - Casa Goliana is in a good location in La Roma. The daily breakfast is good; two of the three mornings there was a freshly prepared hot dish (a tamale one day, a quesadilla another). Staff members were all friendly and helpful. There is 24h security but the area feels safe walking around alone during daylight hours. I was disappointed that the booking didn't mention that all the rooms are NOT air conditioned. Further, I ended up with the smallest room in the hotel and the smallest of its class but I didn't get a rate discount for this. The worst part of the room was that it faced the inner courtyard. Since I had to keep the window open (no air conditioning), any noise, from people coming in late at night to the staff preparing breakfast early morning, was really disruptive. Also, an outside stairwell was right outside my window, so hotel guests could look in on me in bed. The only way to preserve privacy and quiet was to keep the window and the blackout curtains closed, but this was impossible due to the mysterious lack of air conditioning. The other rooms in the hotel all had air con. Overall, the room was SO overpriced for for being the worst room in the hotel.

We were given dinner suggestions and offered help when we couldn’t figure out if the Piramide’s museum was open on a Monday. (It is) our room was spotless and there was turn down service as well. The neighborhood was fantastic! We enjoyed every part of our stay in this great hotel. I would recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is a beautiful old building. The room was adequate, the bathroom small. Like any old building,you compensate. Floors creak, doors have gaps in them, so privacy is somewhat compromised. TV had only one channel. Charming outdoor garden. Ask for a room that faces the street, otherwise could be claustrophobic. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Always felt safe because of the doorman. Restaurants and bars around but poor lighting so we called uber to get home. In my opinion this was an expensive place to stay.
• Andrea (8/5): - We generally enjoyed our short stay, however after a long trip we were very much looking forward to a hot shower and a nap. However, after we got into our room and attempted to shower we realized there was no hot water. When calling the front desk they said the whole building was experiencing issues with hot water and it would be fixed very soon. We decided to sleep and were woken by a knock and a repairman had to enter the room. It wasn’t until the next morning that we were able to take a hot shower. Kind of a bummer.

They gave us plenty of advice on the best places to dine and check out the local area. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, and are spacious. Breakfast was also included. Great location for walking and exploring with lots of cafes, restaurants, and bars nearby. The staff was wonderful and it was a beautiful space. A little pricey but worth it.
• Liz (10/5): Exceedingly comfortable stay - We spent 5 nights at Casa Goliana and could not have asked for a more positive experience. Each member of the staff was professional, helpful and very gracious. The building is well-located and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was entirely satisfactory; I especially enjoyed the variety of fresh fruits each morning, and the availability of an espresso machine. The only small drawback was the size of our room, which was on the ground floor and had two single beds. It would be fine for a single person but was a bit cramped for two of us. It did, however, have a lovely, spacious bathroom, and I would not let the size of the bedroom keep me from staying there again. I would recommend this charming spot to anyone.
• Cody (10/5): - This was a very awesome stay for us. The staff was great, as they were both friendly as well as responsive and helpful. They definitely went out of the way to make sure we had a great time inside of the hotel as well as in our time overall in CDMX. The location was perfect for being able to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, parks, and shopping. Uber is convenient and cheap enough to get to Zocalo or places farther away. The street can be a bit loud, but not terrible -- they actually provided white noise machines and ear plugs.
• RITA (10/5): Beautiful, historic property + great staff - The first two nights we spent in the queen-sized room upstairs (there are only eight rooms), which was lovely. However, I would recommend going with the king-sized rooms facing the street if possible. We spent the second two nights in the king-sized suite downstairs. Giant room with a very large living room, separated by a nice bathroom (all of the rooms are shower-only except one). In both rooms, the beds were incredibly comfortable with nice bedding, the AC was easy to work out (not so, other CDMX places we've stayed), storage is plentiful. Both rooms have big windows and great light. We didn't get much street noise at night; we use a white noise app that helps wherever we stay. Although no one is going to Mexico City for the peace & quite, this hotel is overall a quiet oasis in a wonderful, noisy city. Everyone at Casa Goliana is lovely and accommodating, For me, the continental breakfast wasn't my favorite, but as a self-confessed fussy eater, I'm hard to please. Suffice it to say it's a fully-functional Continental Breakfast and will start your day just fine. The neighborhood is amazing - there is so much to explore, we couldn't possibly see it all. Very close to the Mercado Roma, Cocina Conchita (amazing seafood) and Condesa is walking distance, or an easy Uber away. We would definitely love to stay there again and highly recommend this elegant, lovely, boutique hotel.
• Chris (10/5): Art, architecture & heritage with a caring team - The caring attitude of the whole Goliana team made our stay very special. They instantly made us feel welcome and none of our needs was overlooked. Marina was very knowledgeable and made wonderful suggestions when we needed advice on what to do or see which we had not yet experienced on any of our three previous Mexican adventures. Juan Pablo guided us to just what we were looking for in restaurants. With only 8 guest rooms it felt like a home, and we enjoyed interesting discussions with the other guests over excellent breakfasts which were included.

Property is very well kept, convenient & safe location; there are two small convenience stores nearby; two pharmacies & a big gym.

Rooms and bedding very comfortable, no noise...very quiet! Three minor things that would push it up to five stars for us: 1- Better lighting for applying our make up :) perhaps one attatche to wall by sink to be able to use it to check back of hair! 2- Full length mirror to make sure our outfits fit appropriately :)
